i love how grandparents so often have the wildest life stories but just never talk about them?? like take my grandpa for example. he was born in india sometime in 1933 but no one knows his actual birthday bc his birth certificate was lost in a house fire and he doesn’t know either because the hindu calendar doesn’t align exactly with the gregorian one. he ran away from boarding school. he lived in west germany during the cold war and was in love w a girl who lived on the other side of the berlin wall. and i had to find out all of this information in disjointed anecdotes from my mother. what
spitfire is a passion project so anything i want to do with it comes directly out of my pocket and i think some people don’t understand how expensive that is. 😅
the reason i didn’t hire an editor is because conservatively just getting spitfire copy edited (not edited for structure/plot holes/etc) would be like 3k+ at the very cheapest. a decent audiobook would likely cost at least 10k.
i don’t expect spitfire to make enough to justify those costs but taking the better royalty rate increases the likelihood that it could happen 🤷♀️
today is a really good day to read a free webnovel about a genderqueer body shifting dragon, his extremely overburdened and emotionally suppressed prince, and the captivating princess who has come to destroy them both emotionally. and also love them or whatever.
