honestly misa and light are so compelling to me because both of them have like, subzero interest in one another and in fact actively resist any attempt to learn one single thing about the other. this is obvious from light's side of things & probably does not need expanding upon, but misa also does not care even a little bit about light -- she is instead in this parasocial relationship with this fake made-up version of him that has nothing whatsoever to do with him. like the amount of effort she puts into ignoring and wildly misinterpreting every single non-instructional thing light has ever told her is truly astounding. she lives with him for years and is genuinely convinced that he's a sweet, thoughtful man who is completely obsessed with her and can't live without her due to the depths of his love. they're soulmates and also strangers.

how some people can look at Zhongli and Venti's dialogue during this Lantern Rite and interpret it as beefing instead of, you know, flirting truly blows my mind? like it's not just what they're saying, but also the way they're saying it. it's flirting, they're flirting. and even if they aren't flirting, that's obviously an inside joke? look at Venti's face when Zhongli acts like they're strangers, does it look like someone who can't stand the other and isn't willing to play along with the other's dumb idea? please. I don't understand how people can still think they hate each other even tho it's established that they're friends, not only through items lore and their own character stories (I really doubt someone like Zhongli would let a guy he hates forge his sigil, let him destroy his precious vase, let him pour wine on his head, and then yearn for him for 500 years bffr), but also in the first Liyue Archon quest Zhongli talks about "a friend from Mondstadt" who used to bring him wine all the time, and Venti has a "refined gentleman friend from Liyue" he wishes he could spend more time with. a friend he still visits often, so much so that madame Ping commissioned Tubby to make a Mondstadt-inspired house for the teapot with good acoustics so he could play inside with no problem.

Obscure HBomb + hermits history! In MCC8, H's team faced the hermits (Yellow Yaks: False, Ren, Cub, Pearl) in Skyblockle and H got one hit by False. He literally said:

"I got one hit, and that scared the crap outta me."

By the way, this was the legendary MCC8 Aqua, an extremely high scoring team of H, Quig, Fwhip, and Joel (how was this allowed?!) against MCC8 Yellow (with their Battle Box losing streak but we don't talk about that). Aqua had decided to target the hermits, Quig got Cub, and H was unexpectedly slain by False. False did five hearts of damage to H in one go, and he didn't even notice until he was dead.

This was probably one of the reasons why H said in that famous Reddit post that he's "a little scared" of facing False in PvP. This was shortly after MCC8, by the way. So even before MCC9, H has already recognised False as a strong player who mildly scares him lmao. And 2.5 years later, she tells him to stop talking to her during Dodgebolt <3 H is truly one of the most consistent hermit supporters in MCC (outside of the hermits/builders' usual circle), and arguably it started before H's first hermit team in MCC9 <3

Font anon again! Thanks for indulging me. Yes it is the fic where SF!Papyrus is Palatino. It’s one of my favs. I agree with Serif as a last name because it’s funny.

I’m going mostly off vibes. You completely nailed what I was going for with UF! Papyrus (you are definitely the right person to brainstorm with and have great insight.) My original font search prioritized fonts people complained about, sticking to the theme of Comic Sans and Papyrus being “annoying fonts.” If you can think of any other ones I’m down to hear them.

I stuck my thoughts under the cut because as usual it got long (and for some of them I'm spitballing more than anything) but hopefully it's of some help ^^!

Swap!Papyrus: Hands down (haha), he suits Bradley Hand visually- the font is like Papyrus (font) but more loose and scribbled- it has more curves and thus has a more laidback kind of vibe, which is why I think it'd suit him... but also I'm losing my mind at the idea of calling him Bradley (derogatory) (/lh).

(I'm also biased though. I used to use this font for writing when I was younger LMAO. You know how people say to write with Comic Sans? I did that with Bradley Hand.)

Swap!Sans: I reckon he'd fit Cooper.

Round, bold, a little bit 'childish' when compared to other fonts, but infinitely more put together than Comic Sans. It also makes me think about comics like Archie or Garfield, which used similar rounded fonts for their titles! Cooper (font) feels so... cartoony to me, y'know? Also it makes me think of Sly Cooper just namewise lmaooooo

Underfell!Sans: Ok. OK. Listen I don't think this font suits him BUT!!! Fontin would be REALLY FUNNY just purely because I think he'd have the time of his life making jokes about "Fonting". Like: "ey! i'm fontin' here!" type of jokes which would get old so so so quickly. Do you see my vision.

If Carrington was less... curly-cursive I'd say it'd suit him purely for the potential visual association with like. the typeface you might see at a stereotypical tattoo parlour or something. IDK it makes me think about tattoos and motorcycles.

SAYING ALL THAT THOUGH: I think he could suit Rockwell! It makes me think of titles and bold headers, also cowboy westerns and Very Masculine and Cool products lol. Except... Rockwell is usually used with Uppercase, Title case or Sentence case. Purely lowercase Rockwell feels inherently cursed to me. (Like truly, what are you doing if you're using Rockwell in lowercase. That's committing a violence.)

Swapfell!Papyrus: Weirdly enough, I reckon I could see him with Corsiva or Fertigo? (Which... looks strikingly similar to Fontin. Huh!)

IMO, Fertigo feels more laidback due to the curling tips (which still come to sharp points). The way that the ends of "strokes" get flicked gives it a sort of lazier vibe.

BUT the font choice here also depends on your interpretation of SF!Pap!!

If you want to have a font that's underrated and everywhere?? GO Calibri. It's used as the default font for Microsoft, and is designed to be very easy to read. This is particularly befitting of the interpretations of SF!Pap where he's well versed in computers/electronics and/or doing spywork. His presence is not actively noticed, but he's always there! Alternatively, if you wanted to name him after a serif'd font, similar to Calibri, one of the fonts from your list, Caslon, has a somewhat ubiquitous presence, and also feels a little rougher/crunchier than stuff like Calibri or Fertigo.

Other notes:

I know you already decided on a name for him, but Trajan is also a really good alternative option for UF!Papyrus imo. Similar Roman-Commander vibes except even more explicit LMAO. Plus, it's a solely uppercase font, which is even more fitting.

Didot... if you swap the 'i' for a 'd' and vice versa, you get 'idiot' which is simply ripe for the teasing, but I don't think it fits any of the skeletons lol.

I would have suggested Arial as an option due to it's former prevalence, but honestly that name (+Verdana) have like… cemented themselves in my brain as 'fan-made skeleton' fonts ajbhjsmhjmdh (no shade whatsoever to anyone who uses them ofc, but MAN are they used a LOT.)

Diluc was probably so fucking protective over Kaeya when they were kids. Like, he’d always go first into any situation he saw as dangerous and if literally anything bad would happen to Kaeya he would feel like a horrible person. So he’s always standing up for Kaeya and protecting him from anything scary, like boars and slimes and bullies!!

And then meanwhile Kaeya, the child-savior of Khaenri’ah who probably used to see more fucked up shit in the span of 1 week than Diluc will see in his entire life and has probably killed someone before, has to just...play along. For this mission he needs to blend into the Ragnvindr family and endearing himself to the heir of the family is definitely part of that description. Like, ‘oh wow thank you for saving me from that boar. You are my hero and I definitely needed your help with that. I totally was not going to just kill the boar with the knives I definitely didn’t steal from the kitchen and sew into my clothes in case I came across that treasure hoarder camp that’s been bothering dad recently and found an opportunity to...solve the problem.’ Kaeya finds Diluc’s attempts to ‘protect’ him adorable, especially since Kaeya needs none of that protection and in fact has been doing his own part in protecting Diluc (namely ensuring that they never run into Abyss Mages while wandering in the wild).
