Great news for uninsured adults in the USA who want a COVID-19 booster! It now appears that ALL CVS locations are now active participants in the Bridge Access Program. The Bridge Access Program gives out free Covid-19 vaccinations to 18+ adults who otherwise can't afford one, so if you have a CVS near you, please go get one! For others who don't have a CVS near them, please go to vaccines.gov, click on "Find Covid-19 vaccines", fill out which vaccines you prefer (you can mix different vaccines if you have to so i reccomend just marking all of them for the age groups you need), and when the next page loads mark the "Bridge Access Program Participant" option to see only locations that are Bridge Access Program participants. Hopefully, other places that aren't CVS will start participating soon, so just check back every so often to see if there are any updates. The CDC Bridge Access Program website also has more details on what locations will be participating, but only CVS is appearing as an active participant on the vaccines.gov location finder at the moment.

well well look who’s back

thanks for sticking with me through another wonderfully tense suspension which thank everything is finally over with. unfortunately for the last month or so i have also been losing hundreds of followers and mutuals SO please know that if i have suddenly unfollowed you or you find yourself no longer following me it was definitely tumblrs fault. i’ve written to them plenty of times about this, and the latest update they said is to have people write in to support and tell them what happened.

hey, regular reminder that if you get someone in your inbox (that you have never interacted with before/has never been following you) asking you to reblog a post on their blog (sob story asking for donations, usually about a pet to make it extra guilt-trippy) and they specifically ask you to answer this ask privately (for a vague and weak reason, why wouldn't they want more eyes on this post?) and then you go to their blog and their account is days old at most (and they're even claiming they have an old account that got shadowbanned ((?? being "shadowbanned" on tumblr does not mean you can't still post from that account?)) but never mention the url of that old blog) and all their reblogs are straight from the op and not from anyone they might be following who reblogged the post first (indicating they just quickly searched a semi-popular fandom tag to reblog some innocuous fanart to make the blog seem lived in)-

i saw a post about scams like this a little while ago, so i'm wise to it but it feels HORRIBLE bc kitty. but it's usually a scam. if you get one of these, report and block. you're not a bad person for not engaging - even if it's legit, you don't have to reblog/boost/donate just because you feel bad or guilty. but also, if you're getting a dm request like the above it's very very very likely someone trying to make money by pretending to be a legit person asking for help in a way that seems genuine but isn't. i've never seen this person in my notes. idk who they are. the wording of the pinned post is designed to evoke that 'omfg i want to help!' sad response by telling you how bad things are, etc. and get you to act without thinking

but details with this one are off. i mean, the pinned post says 'next payday is on june 10th' but today is the 12th of june now and 14 hours ago in was the 11th. prior to the 'please help!' post, 9 posts were reblogged in the space of 2 minutes (not too unrealistic for tumblr), then there's the help request, followed immediately by 14 posts all with exactly the same timestamp, which... you're either reblogging desperately without looking at what you're posting from the 'for you' or 'explore' page, or that's a queue, set to dump those 15 posts at that specific time to make the blog look legit at a glance (most likely what happened). the posts after that are at more random (last post was 5 hours ago, the dm was 4 hours ago)

so yeah i feel kinda guilty, but there are people out there who rely on this to manipulate others and take advantage of our desire to help so that they can line their pockets

(also if you feel guilted into reblogging to 'signal boost' a post asking for money, it's going to be seen by followers who reblog for the same reason and maybe even give money to a total stranger who told us something bad happened and has then let our desire to help and guilt over not acting do the rest. it's okay to break the chain. we can't care about absolutely everything or help absolutely everyone, and we just burn ourselves out if we try to)

heyyyy guys. so, i don’t really talk about it much on here, but for the past eight or so months i’ve been kinda going through it. i injured my foot and haven’t been able to get any treatment for it bc i’m unable to walk. i recently started the ball rolling in regards to going through at-home pt but it could be several months before i’m literally and figuratively back on my feet. it makes me uncomfortable talking about all of this, especially in these circumstances, but my financial situation is getting a bit desperate
