I can't get over how forgiving and loving Pinocchio is. Literally to his own detriment. He repeatedly trusts the fox and cat despite the bullshit they're always pulling on him. He gives them as much gold coin fruit as they ask for while they literally mock and exploit him up until the last minute when they decide "ok you're kinda cool actually, thanks for helping"

And that's not even touching on the stuff with Geppetto. Pino is so innocent, he just wants to be loved by his father (who he loves unconditionally) and he grieves Geppetto's death after he not only tried murdering him but also yelled derogatory shit about puppets at him from across the arena the entire time.

IN ORDER TO LIVE IN THE KINGDOM OF ROSAS, DO YOU NEED TO GIVE UP YOUR WISH TO KING MAGNIFICO?

Genuine question, because I’ve seen some people say you do need to give up your wish to him and I’ve seen others who’ve said that you don’t.

Personally, I believe that you DO need to give up your wish to the king, but not because something in the movie told me so. I only think this from a logical standpoint. I’m not saying that the idea that you need to give up your wish is TRUE, nor am I denying that people don’t need to. This is just a little thoughtful speculation I had. Hear me out.

Say that people DON’T need to give up their wishes in order to live in Rosas. Some people decide to give him their wishes in hopes of getting them granted anyways, while others decide to keep their wishes. So now we have King Magnifico keeping most of the given wishes in the wishing chamber forever and protects those wishes. Then we have Asha say that it’s wrong for him to hoard the given wishes and not return the wishes he won’t grant back to their respective owners. King Magnifico responds by saying that the point of people coming here and giving up their wishes is because the journey to them is too hard. He doesn’t say anything about if he gives back the wishes, then something bad could possibly happen if people pursued their wishes themselves. But it IS hinted that’s what he means because in the movie he takes people’s wishes in hopes to reduce greed and having greedy people in the kingdom (though ngl that just made people more greedy unfortunately for him).

I’m not going to talk about who is right in the concept of keeping or giving back ungranted wishes.

Back to my explanation! So if King Magnifico hoards the wishes because he thinks they are dangerous, then why let people who haven’t given up their wishes live in the kingdom? Those people who haven’t given him their wishes (I’m talking about citizens 18+ because that’s the requirement to give him your wish) could have a dangerous wish within them and walk around the kingdom with that wish in their heart as they please. See what I mean?

For example…

Say person A and person B arrive at Rosas and decide to live there. They are both given the option to give up their wishes to the king in hopes for them to be granted, but are still allowed to live in Rosas no matter which choice they pick. Person A gives up their wish (say that their wish is really anything, it doesn’t matter in this example), but Person B decides to keep their wish (say that their wish is vague or has the possibility of dangerous consequences (also, I don’t believe that any of the citizens’ wishes are bad-intentioned because King Magnifico said that it is their hearts desire and it is the wish from the very BEST and PURE part of someone’s heart. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t vague enough to have bad consequences/outcomes or be dangerous, even if not intentioned)). So King Magnifico knows what person A’s wish is and decides to lock it up because he think it’ll result in something bad. Okay, great whatever. But oh wait! He doesn’t know what person B’s wish is and he doesn’t know if their wish could have bad results if granted or pursued. He doesn’t KNOW about it and he can’t SEE it because that person didn’t give their wish to him.

Does that make sense? So this brings me back to my primary question. If people don’t need to give their wishes to the king in order to live in the kingdom of Rosas, what is the point in hoarding the wishes given to him when he doesn’t know the wishes of the people who haven’t given them up to him? He can’t make a hypothesis and not even an assumption on person B’s wish or intentions or dreams or goals because he doesn’t have their wish. And he just allowed them to live in the kingdom!

So what would be the difference in danger between person A’s given wish and person B’s ungiven wish when King Magnifico can’t properly defend his statement and reasoning on the whole ‘greedy people thing’ and not giving back given wishes he won’t grant? How does a given wish make it any more harmful than an ungiven wish in his eyes? It just doesn’t make sense to me if the case is that you DON’T need to give up your wish in order to live in Rosas.

Now this is the part where I’m taking stuff from the movie now to back up my reasoning. So at the end of the movie, we see all 1,923 wishes (yes, that’s how many there are 😭) are sent back to their original owners. We see that EVERYBODY gets their wish back, aside from the kids of course and Valentino. When I take in this scene, I am basically told by the movie that every qualified citizen gave up their wish. Could the possibility that they had the choice on whether to give their wish up or not to King Magnifico and still live in Rosas either way is true? Maybe. But it seems highly unlikely because it can be debunked by King Magnifico’s statement on keeping people safe and his attempt to stop greedy thieves and his refusal to return the wishes he won’t grant. It forces his statement of ‘preventing another disaster from happening’ to make no sense if he lets people who haven’t given up their wishes to him live there ANYWAYS.

If someone has anything they’d like to add, feel free to share! This is just a genuine question and I’d like to understand more if the case really is that qualified people (those 18+) can live in Rosas anyways without giving up their wishes and keeping it with themselves the entire time.

I've searched literally every ask I've gotten in the past three years because I know I've said it before and I wanted to reblog it, but:

Elain is not the only person who can find/wield Dread Trove items. She never has been. The main requirement for finding Dread Trove items is being Made - it is not related to specific powers. So who is Made?

Amren

Miryam

Amren and Miryam's circumstances are a little different, but they were all Made if different ways - Elain and Nesta in the Cauldron, Feyre by the High Lords, Amren made herself, and Miryam... I forget and don't really care. The only reason Feyre didn't try to find the mask and harp in acosf is because she was pregnant. She is still alive and can still find/use those objects, because she is still Made. The main reason that Elain didn't try to find/wield those objects in acosf, despite offering, is because Nesta and Az prevented her.

The point is that all of these characters are Made, and are still Made, and Elain is in no way the only person who can find and/or use these objects.

Hi, I’m new in this tag kinda and new to meta-writing overall, but not only is the August brain rot really strong but one particular part of his entire character has been on my mind for a whole weekend. Please take this as mostly an offering of very spilled thoughts cause I couldn't keep them to myself anymore, LMAO. Particularly the thing that's on my brain is his guilt

Gosh though, August’s guilt and self-criticism of himself and his actions is something that really fascinates me personally, and just thinking of it being the cause of what turns him back to wood is both mind-blowing but it just makes so much sense. He may be real because of magic but who’s to say it’s just the magical conditions that are holding him back and not the high as heck expectations that he feels were set for him and he set up for himself.

When it feels like you can't mess up sometimes it can feel like you're stuck in place Or that your screw ups means you can't change, that you're not good, that maybe you don't deserve to be considered good and that your various flaws are all that others would see you FOR!!

Maybe it's different to anxiety but idk it’s what caught my attention about him even more than what his character already offered up in s1!

He was given this like 

Idea that he needs to be "Brave" and "Truthful" and "Selfless" all the time or else he cannot be human 

Does it work like that? no, there's no human on EARTH that's all three of those things all the time, we've all had moments of weakness and gave in 

But what does he know? Most of his life he spent on his own and as a puppet, he was expected to understand the ways of being a human and GOODNESS knows how short a time he was with his dad before he was THRUST into a world and forced once again to stand on his own two feet and expected to just, you know, know how to act once again 

He's followed by expectations that he finds himself struggling to meet because he doesn't know what the limit is or how to meet them, and sometimes if not all of the times the temptations are just better and easier 

And it's expected!!!

He stepped into TLWM as a child with no idea of what he’s getting into with no prior knowledge, no adult, no nothing.

But omg, he drags himself down so much about it because he can’t meet those expectations the way he would want to and because of that because literally who did he have to tell him that it's all okay? That you can make mistakes and move on from them? That you can make up for your mistakes and forgive yourself for them?

Did he have anyone at all? Cause The show sure didn't show him having anyone

We see one woman in Thailand but even after he discovers he's turning into wood she's no longer around, so like she's probably about as fleeting of a relationship as anything else

Imagine going 28 years at first ignoring all your problems and then the horror and thoughts that you’re not good enough catch up to you one morning and the more you see yourself a failure, the more you sink into that spiral the harder it feels to breathe.

what if, after swan song, dean tries but fails at living a normal life and he ends up dead and in heaven and there is sam because heaven is supposed to make a soul happy and at first dean is, he is soo happy and it's all rose coloured clouds and warm strong arms drawing him in and a familiar smell and smile and voice he didn't have for too long on earth, but after a while he realises something he knew from the beginning but didn't care to examine too closely but now he can't ignore it anymore, that the sam beside him is not really his sam, not really there but a memory of him because the real sam is in the cage still, so far away from him, so far out of reach, and he wishes suddenly that he was in hell too, despite the bile that rises in his throat with the memories of that place, and fake-sam shakes him and tries to get his attention again but dean looks at him, the startling resemblance, and thinks, i could be happy with you, you're close enough, but you aren't. you aren't him. and it spirals from there, dean closing off and his heaven turning dull and grey, like someone wiped the colours out of the sky, and the angels are in an uproar because a soul in heaven cannot be that unhappy, that's not how its supposed to be, and so they send an angel to deal with the problem, and they choose the angel who dealt with dean winchesters problems since almost forever and he goes to dean and their reunion would be joyful were it not for dean's soul pouring out regret that he couldn't even kill himself anymore to escape what he felt. and the angel, not able to bear his pain because he never could bear dean winchester to hurt as much as he does now, and especially not in heaven, gathers his garrison of angels and commands them once more to fight through hell and rescue sam winchester, the man who saved them all, and they do try to reach the cage but it's so heavily guarded that days turn into months, turn into years and at the end of every day the angel returns to dean and reports, and every day dean winchesters heaven is greyer and colder, and the soul residing there hurts so much the other angels start gathering on the edges, looking on worried, because - what can become of a human soul in heaven if it turns black?
