Thrown Blurb #4: Fanfiction
Word Count: 618
Author's Notes: Just needed a little levity after that finale, haha. Everyone can thank @gigglingtiggerv2 for encouraging this scene into existence in response to chapter 39.

You were trying to get a rise out of him.
Loki refused to give you the satisfaction.
"Okay, so it's called 'The Numbers Don't Lie' and as you know, in this timeline Loki is human." You waved a sheaf of paper in his direction. You had printed it after he refused to read it on your computer. "And I'm on the timeline also, but in this one I'm very wealthy and Loki is one of several accountants I employ..."
Loki's eye twitched but he didn't respond otherwise. He watched the papers in your hand as you explained the plot of your little story.
"... and of course he's desperate to get her attention but he doesn't know how to deal with his feelings so he..."
Loki steepled his fingers. His eyes were drawn again to the pages in your hand. Were they... bound? You took the time to bind them into a booklet?
"... and then that's where his stamp collection comes into play..."
Loki bit his cheek. You were making a strong play here, he had to admit. He could tell you knew, by the gleam in your eyes. He wouldn't let you win this one. He tried to focus on his upcoming rebuttal.
"Finally, the issue is resolved thanks to Loki's expertise in tax law. They overcome their misunderstandings and confess their feelings and get together at the end." You triumphantly placed the story in front of him. "Ready to read it?"
Loki waited a moment to allow you to bask in your short-lived glory, then broke into a grin. "First, I have my own creative endeavor to share with you." Confusion cross your face. "What?" Loki stood. "As you may know, Skarde now has his studio in working condition. When Thor mentioned that you were putting your little fiction to paper," he heard you curse Thor under your breath, "I commissioned this." With a wave of his hand an easel appeared with quite a large canvas on it, which was currently concealed by a green cloth. "A portrait of your Asgardian counterpart." You came to stand in front of the canvas with your arms crossed. "You paid money to get back at me?" "It was entirely worth it, darling. Skarde's craftsmanship is unmatched." With a flourish he pulled the cloth away, revealing the painting.
The figure in the portrait was undoubtedly you, but a version that was wholly pathetic. She was dressed in peasant clothes, and poor ones at that. She was scrubbing a floor in some dismal dungeon, and her person was absolutely covered in grime. Her expression was mournful, and maybe a little wistful, as she gazed into the middle distance. Truly a wretched creature.
Your expression was incredulous. "I can't believe you did this." Loki smirked, reveling in his victory. "Surely you expected a response." "Yeah, but not this! I didn't think you'd drag anyone else into it. I just wrote a story! How many people have seen..." you gestured at the canvas, "miserable servant me?" Loki thought for a moment as he admired the work. "Quite a few, I imagine. But perhaps not enough. Should we put it on display for the public, you think?"
You stood for a moment with your mouth agape, then snapped it shut and whipped out your phone, typing furiously. Loki frowned. "What- what are you doing?" "Texting Thor." You kept your eyes on your screen. "Asking him about that Asgardian theatre troupe." He scowled. "Whatever for?" "It just occurred to me," you hit send and smiled up at him sweetly, "that my story is really meant for the stage." Loki's eyes widened and he held up a finger. "Now... now just hold on a moment...."

Sakyo: Don’t lump us together. It’s not about Director. Sweets are a classic for White Day, aren’t they?
Masumi: In that case, letters are a classic way to express your gratitude.

Sakyo: This is an event for MANKAI Company’s fans. Seeing as all the members are participatin’, it’s meaningful if we do something that transcends the borders of our troupes. Well, we also thought that stayin' in our troupes could lead to biased opinions. That’s why Director suggested we do a lottery with all of us mixed together this time.
Sakuya: If we all work together, then I’m sure it’ll be a wonderful event!
Azami: I mean, I guess so. But it’s pointless if our efficiency also drops because of that.
Hisoka: Zzz…
Sakyo: —Tch. We’ll disband for today. All of you, give some more thought into what you wanna do, got it?
-pause-
Masumi: … (What I want to do for a White Day event…) (Director is the first person I want to express my gratitude to. That’s why I want to do something that makes her happy.) (But I’m sure Director will like anything I do. She complimented me and gave me the okay for the letter writing idea I came up with earlier.) (But that’s not what I want. I want something that will make her happy from the bottom of her heart—) …The only thing I can think of is a play. *Sigh*…

Azami: Just like our first meeting, none of ‘em feel quite right.

Sakyo: We never said it’s no good. But that alone ain’t gonna fill up the whole day.
Masumi: … (Maybe a play is our only option…)
Azami: I’ve been thinkin’. Is doin’ a play like usual off the table? I mean, we’re a theatre troupe ‘n all.
Sakyo: I understand what you mean, but we’ve got 24 members… We were fortunate enough to line up everyone’s schedules. It’ll be hard to prepare the script and costumes for all 24 of us if we start now.
Sakuya: That’s very true. Our invitation to the event also came on such short notice…
Sakyo: Right. And even though it’s called a hall, I don’t think there’s any area that’s like a stage.
Hisoka: Is there not much space?
Sakyo: The layout is kinda complicated. Given the structure of the building, the organizers probably wanna use this event to see how it can be used.

is pre canon marinette a stalker?
i always receive lots of comments on my videos stating: “but bridgette (in reference to PV, and generally pre canon marinette) is actually a stalker much worse than marinette who always gives gifts to felix who keeps rejecting her! she basically harasses him when he makes it clear he doesn’t like her back!”
so is she? let’s analyse:
regarding early marinette’s behaviour towards nathan/ felix, we have these images to work off of

nathan, as i’ll refer to him here, is obviously quite annoyed with marinette. so oh he must definitely hate her and she must be stalking him. but are we going to take what we see at face value?
remember that these are concept art. meant to capture the overall essence of the dynamic between two characters. sometimes, it is over-exaggerated to make it obvious what their personalities are meant to be without having to use too many words. that’s the whole point of drawing concepts.
here, we can infer that marinette is bubbly, enthusiastic, who keeps a positive mindset even when faced with rejection (literally and figuratively). we can also infer that nathan is grumpy, dismissive, aware of marinette’s feelings and has a dark side to him. thus it is easily implied that these two characters are meant to be stark contrasts.
we can assume their general personality from concept art. but concept art does NOT represent all the actions they do. marinette is portrayed as always giving things to nathan yes. but it’s literally just the same fucking tickets in all three images. she even has the same outfit on for two of them, implying it occurs on the same day, before nathan goes to club, and after boxing. the last image, is a god damn poster to illustrate the series as a whole.
then we have this lovely image

firstly, ever wondered why nathan would hang out with marinette in a movie theatre, alone, together, when he supposedly always rejects her upright? have you considered they’re friends?
anyways not the point, but we all know miraculous ladybug is inspired by comics/ anime. and there’s one troupe that’s pretty huge in those industries, especially in those times. which is rejection, that’s almost all the time gags. naruto and sakura is the one that comes to mind rn. and maybe tamaki and haruhi.
now would you say those people are exactly harassing their love interest? keeping in mind that it’s also meant to play out solely as comedy? personally, knowing the context and intention, i wouldn’t exactly say so.
and finally take a look at these images.

oh my god. what’s that? is nathan smiling? impossible! he hates her! (that’s obv nathan due to the collar and that iconic eiffel tower background)
therefore, in conclusion, is pre canon marinette (specially “qk” and or pv) outright with her feelings? yes. but is she a stalker and a harasser? no. something such as that cannot be concluded on 4 drawings.

Legend had a change of heart and a change of plans.
"Din damn it!" Legend glared at his phone. He was just about to leave for Time's party when Sky texted him the picture. Of Warriors and his new boyfriend's outfits (along with copious heart eye emojis). Of course Warriors had gone all out. And of course they were wearing complimentary costumes. He yanked the head band with the bunny ears off his head, the ones Ravio had forced him into. "You have to dress up!" He did theater, he dressed up all the time. Sue him for wanting a break. Legend threw the headband onto his desk and yanked open the closet door. There wasn't much he could do about a couple's costume because no matter what anyone thought, he and Ravio were not dating. But he could still throw something together. He considered doing a vampire. Sure, it was generic but he could pull it off quickly. But no, that couldn't compare to Warriors' Roman whatever he was. Maybe a… "Rav, where's my cape?" "What?" Ravio's voice was muffled, coming from his room on the other end of the hall. "Where. Is. My. Cape?" There was a shuffling noise as Ravio's bedroom door opened. He smiled sheepishly as he poked his head in the door.  "I may have… borrowed it." Legend sighed and rubbed his forehead. He looked back at the closet, glancing through his options. His eyes caught on something shiny and sequined. An outfit he hadn't worn since one of his first productions in college for the student run theatre troupe. He grinned. "I need twenty minutes and the body glitter." Ravio didn't respond for a moment, but then he nodded enthusiastically. "I'll grab it." Legend was going to be the hottest Farore damned cheerleader the town has ever seen. (Ravio was not impressed by the football helmet Legend shoved on him — it did not work with his costume — but he was happy to see Legend so excited. Even if the grump insisted it was only to one up his friend.)

HI FAM, for Talk to Me Tuesday - give me some headcanons about Pravin relating to Orlesian theatre culture! What's all of that like for him?
HELLO I have an entire document called ~theater stuff~ for thissss
To start off--broadly, there are three ways of being an actor in Orlais:
Traveling troupe system: joining a troupe of other actors, who go around the country performing at different locales, such as at community events like festivals and market days, as well as in intimate settings like taverns, inns and private homes.
Patronage system: a wealthy patron puts together a troupe of actors and hosts them at one or more venues. Actors contract with the patron for a period of time--such as for a social season--and are paid in accordance with the contract.
Audition system: actors audition for roles in a particular production. This system is used by several high-demand venues, such as the Grande Royeaux, to acquire performers especially fit for a given part.
Each approach has its own pros and cons--troupes tend to have the most freedom in terms of what plays they choose to put on, for instance, but the most unreliable pay because they're doing gig work; patronage is good in terms of job stability but you don't have as much input in terms of who you're working with and what you're working on, and auditioning is a high-barrier-to-entry approach that nevertheless tends to be super financially lucrative--provided you get picked, of course. In practice most actors start out in a troupe and shift around between the three modalities over the course of their career.
Pravin fucked off to Orlais in the middle of the Blight, so probably sometime in 9:30, and it took him a bit over a year, maybe two, to get in with a troupe that he really gelled with and have his first big break (playing a Sexy Antivan Pirate). He got a patron out of that and spent some time in that system in Val Chevin, but wound up being typecast and underpaid and had to do gigs on the side; he actually got into bard work through Gaubert asking for help in getting that patron's husband arrested, lol. Alongside his general mistrust of authority that came out of his experiences in the Blight, that whole thing really turned Pravin off from patronage, period (as did, you know, the difficult political situation of being a professional bard), so since then he's alternated between actually touring with a troupe, various one-off gigs, and auditioning for parts.
He's really proud of getting roles at the Grande Royeaux precisely because it's competitive as hell and really signifies being at the peak of his craft--you don't get in unless you're really good, and you sure as fuck don't get a leading role unless you're one of the best in the country. It's something that carries a huge amount of clout within the theater community, and needless to say, is especially impressive for a foreigner.
Coming back around to culture: I think one of the things Pravin's spent much of his career doing is proving himself worthy of the country he's made his home. Orlais is this beacon of culture in Southern Thedas, and while I imagine there's some cross-pollination of Orlesian practices into Antivan theater culture (and standards around what constitutes good musicianship are pretty uniform, given dissemination through the Chantry), there's still significant differences, such as the visual language of masks. Pravin had some skill transfer from his musical training and the acting he did while he was at university in Antiva, and speaking Orlesian fluently and without an accent helped substantially, but when he came into the Orlesian scene he still had to familiarize himself with a multitude of cultural minutiae, and while the Orlesian theater community itself is welcoming by default--the Orlesian public? Not so much. His fellow actors quickly dubbed him their beloved Denci; his audiences would take one look at his skin tone and nevertheless see him as an outsider, with all the expectations of inferiority that went along with that. So when he did secure that leading role at the Grande Royeaux, it not only meant that he was an extremely talented actor and musician, but that he was an excellent Orlesian actor. Not some token Antivan good at imitating the form, but actually Orlesian.
(And that's part of why at the beginning of Inquisition's events he's kind of hitting a point where he doesn't know what to do with himself. He's made it. He's gotten to the top. He should be content with his life, then...right?)

Okay I don’t know if this is like… a cop out answer but I have a whole playlist that I listen to when I work on this fic (and also literally just all the time) and there’s various songs that exemplify their relationship at various points in time. But if you, like, held a gun to my head and told me to pick the first song I think of when I think of their relationship, it would be “what is this feeling” from wicked
13. What’s their opinions on PDA?
I think Anetra loves it in theory, she’s a hopeless romantic who loves all the softer sweeter parts of falling in love and being in love, but I think in practice it’s still scary to her sometimes. Between her traumatic past, her knee jerk instincts to hide any possible vulnerabilities, and her desire to keep her emotions under lock and key, the actual act of PDA can be a hard hurdle for her. But at her heart she loves it.
And once Marcia comes to terms with her sexuality, she is ALL about it if it was up to her she’d be shouting her love from the rooftops, making everyone and their mom well aware of her relationship and how much she likes Anetra. Me and @lady-assnali have joked many times about Marcia making and wearing t-shirts that say “I love my girlfriend” with Anetra’s face on it and wearing them in public unironically and that’s the kind of energy I think comfortable with her sexuality Marcia will bring.
18. What does a date night out look like for them?
I think it really depends! At least for now, they’re both in college and neither of them is really raking in the dough (even if Marcia is from a relatively well off family). I think Anetra let’s Marcia take her out to shows, be they Broadway or small local theatre troupes, because she loves how excited and passionate Marcia gets about it. On the flip, I think Marcia absolutely takes Anetra to the art museum any chance she gets because she loves seeing how excited Anetra gets telling her all about every piece and every artist. They spend all day there and still only cover a fraction of the works. But typically I think they probably have a lot of cozy coffee dates, nice dinners, maybe going out dancing. And at the end of the day they always get to go home together ;)
24. What are their favorite places to kiss on their partner(s)? What are their favorite types of kisses?
I know deep in my soul that Anetra is addicted to kissing Marcia’s stomach and inner thighs. I know this as fact this is my gospel. But she also really likes kissing the spot where Marcia’s neck and shoulder meet. Marcia is very responsive as a girl who didn’t know how good physical sensations could be before she got with Anetra, and Anetra takes full advantage of that.
Marcia, meanwhile, loves Anetra’s lips (ever a traditionalist) but also really has a thing for her chest. On a slightly less raunchy note though, she also loves to kiss Anetra’s forehead and the top of her head (she may only be an inch or two taller, but boy does she love to remind everyone that she’s the tall one)

I'm VERY excited. The connection of so many characters to theatre scene is one of the best things in the series. Besides, Anne was integrating the common theatrical exaggerating into her novels a lot. They work a bit like musicals with the way her characters treat each others stunts and all that camp and drama. I really don't understand how Lestat the musical could flop that hard, it's like, right there, the literal Theatre de Vampires bleeds into the whole story. The movie grasped this well btw, It's probably the reason it still works for so many book fans. Although they didn't have the time to show the troupe more, but the show will. So yeah, I want to see what happens behind the curtain. The dressing room, the make up, the process, the trailer looked beautiful! Armand is my all time favorite, but I want to see Lestat being a human actor first. It will put tears in my eyes I think, could be so tender. And then that scene with the girl dying during the perfomance, just because I want to see Assad repeating it like Sam did with the "you don't have to enjoy it" screaming fit xD. Santiago is something between Till Lindemann in his most sexy and Count von Krolock from Dance of the Vampires. It was intentional, it was meant to capture my attention. I wait for the same level of derangeness, no less.
I'd like more of Sam's singing, yeah. And if Jacob joined. Maybe something light and domestic, like a lullaby (I'll make myself cry now). I don't expect rock era Lestat this season.
Already said about theatre Lestat. And Nicky, ah, they casted him well. The first half of TVL is very dear to me. I don't ship them per se, but I love the transformation they go throught together, it's just visceral.

This is anon from earlier. I didn't mention Laudna's role because you already had, and I interpreted Imogen as the only one inviting my unhinged input. I simply believed your big beautiful brain had tomes already covering the subject so I stepped back. In fact, Laudna is my #1 favorite CR charcter of all time to the point that talking about her makes me shy?? so even focusing on Imogen that much was probably a good exercise for me. I'm looking at a Dark Crystal art book on my shelf as we speak. The puppeteer concept owns my ass.

anyway i hope i didn’t sound too rude before i was being a little bitch abt ppl not giving laudna enough attention but it wasn’t abt u specifically. here’s a snippet i wrote when i should have been working:
The show is going to be a fucking disaster.
Imogen hasn’t said those exact words out loud yet because if the actors hear her they’ll go into hysterics; she’s considering it still, despite that, because at the moment it feels like she either tells them they’re fucking stupid or she personally strangles someone. No one has learned their fucking lines, or their blocking—despite Orym diligently taping it out for them; FCG keeps trying to find a way to get the flamethrower into the show; the leading man and his understudy got into a fistfight—and Imogen still can’t figure out what the fight was about (except that Fearne was involved, of course), if Fearne encouraged it, and whether she needs to fire these guys or just give them a stern talking to—and as if all that weren’t enough, the set is falling to pieces. That wasn’t the troupe’s fault. Or Imogen’s. The moving company fucked it up on the move from storage when the theatre was getting repaired and after a very, very, very long back and forth, the theatre is going to get some kind reimbursement from the insurance but she doubts very much that the cash will make it to them in time for everything to be fixed by opening night. Basically, they’re fucked.
‘Why don’t we take five?’ Orym suggests, very quietly over his walkie. ‘I can hear you grinding your teeth from here,’ he jokes.
Imogen hopes it’s a joke. She tries to look for him but gives it up as impossible—most likely, he’s backstage or at Props and she can’t see him from her place in the third row. She relaxes her jaw. Rubs her temples for a second before fumbling for her walkie talkie.
‘Might as well. We could take twenty and it wouldn’t fix shit.’ Movement on the stage. Imogen looks over—and locks eyes with big, bright, hopeful eyes. She jams her finger onto the talk button of her walkie. ‘If FCG comes a step closer to me, I’ll kill ‘em.’
‘Roger that. I’ll send Ash to distract.’
Imogen drops heavily into the back of her seat. Scowls as she takes in the stage. She doesn’t notice actors throwing themselves bodily out of her line of sight.
Truth is, it’s going to be fine. There’s two weeks until dress rehearsal, and three until opening night, and—as it has with every show Imogen’s directed—it will come together. The actors will figure it out, maybe fumble a line or two. FCG can be handled, flamethrower drastically underpowered (or denied entirely, as is Imogen’s preference). Fearne…is Fearne. Still more talent than trouble, barely—which was really saying something, since she was maybe the most talented actor Imogen had ever met.
It’s the set that’s the real problem, the real reason Imogen hasn’t been able to sleep at night. Whenever she looks at it, her heart feels like it’s going to crack open. And every bright idea and directing cue she adds to make up for it is just a band-aid barely holding it together. It’s ridiculous to be so upset about it but…
Every year. Every year, the Bertrand Bell’s House of Entertainment, Leisure, and Luxury (most just call it the Bell Theatre) puts on Matilda & Delilah. It’s an old play and a crowd favourite for a reason—performers come and go, costumes change, sometimes a bold director changes the setting to something more modern, but it’s the set that keeps people coming back to see it, year after year. The tree. It’s the heart of the entire play. For Imogen, it’s the heart of the entire theatre. There wouldn’t be a Bell Theatre without it; there wouldn’t be an Imogen without it.
The tree is old and gnarled. One big piece that looms in the back of the stage—when the lights fall on it, just right, it is impossibly huge in the tiny little theatre. The shadow it casts stretches across the back curtain, branches twisting and grasping like crooked fingers, and every year Imogen lives for that moment when the lights shut off—all but the one behind the tree, and those same branches crawl out over the crowd. Menacing them. Trapping them. It’s dark and, when it’s done right, genuinely frightening.
But it’s broken. Half the branches snapped off, and the mechanism to wheel it up and down the stage busted. The cage doors won’t open either, and the colour has bleached in odd places. Imogen half-suspects the moving company hadn’t stored it at all. This wasn’t her tree at all, just some shoddy replica.

If Johnny and Ryan had met when they were kids - maybe Ryan's family living in/close to the town Johny lives in, before moving to the big city - Or an AU where Ryan is a part of Sing 1, how would you imagine that playing out? Any headcanons?
Oooooo, great question! I'm gonna split these two up between your two asks since they're about the same two topics, so that I can go more in depth on each one. This is going into if they met when they were kids, I hope you enjoy!

In this au, Ryan and his family would have moved to Calatonia right after his youngest sister was born since she was sick to be near a better hospital. Ryan was 14 and while he was offered to stay in Klaus’s troupe and live at the dorms, he ultimately decided that his moms and sisters needed him there.
Since they probably moved in the middle of the year as well as Ryan spending his free time helping his moms with Amy so they could be at the hospital, Ryan was a bit of a social outcast. 
Which only really helped him meet Johnny faster, as they were paired together for class projects since well, no one else would pair with them. Because of that, the two started hanging out and actually becoming friends, eventually even spending time together outside school.
Ryan definitely caught on to the gang pretty fast (literally one trip to the Taylor’s apartment and he knew) and confronted Johnny about it, sparking their first fight. But once he realized why they were stealing and that Johnny didn’t actually want to be involved, they patched things up decently quickly.
After that, they were pretty much inseparable, even as Ryan got more popular in school over the next few years. Ryan was the only one Johnny told about his love of singing and Johnny was the only one Ryan felt confident in telling about his regrets of leaving dance, even if it was what was good for his family at the time.
They continue to be each other’s entire support system up until Sing 1, with their only really arguments about Johnny’s increasing involvement in the gang. Ryan calls Johnny the moment he hears about the singing competition to encourage him to try out and even goes with him to the auditions. When the gang gets arrested, Ryan shows up at the garage with scallion pancakes and custard bao buns, for once doesn’t argue with him about the gang, and just helps him pack a bag so he can come stay with his family.
Ryan also would tag along to the theatre last minute remodel and help, along with bringing food for the performers (his mom’s idea). He also helped Eddie work backstage during the show and comforted Johnny when he was clearly upset (we could also have a shielding scene from Ash’s spikes here). Ryan’s visibly happy when he notices Johnny reuniting with his dad and he’s also in the ending photo at the new theatre.
I think that sometime within the year in between the two movies, Ryan would have gone back to Redshore on his own and eventually gotten his role back in Klaus’s troupe in time for Sing 2. He does keep his troupe’s involvement with the show a secret until Johnny shows up to class however, surprising him with an excited hug.
During the course of Sing 2, we would actually see Ryan fighting Klaus’s treatment of Johnny on screen (not that he didn’t out of this au, we just didn’t see it). This would lead to a series of escalating arguments between the two during classes and when Johnny had his panic attack, Ryan actually quit and went to comfort him instead of doing what Klaus wanted him to. They work with Nooshy together and also do the final performance together as both of them against Klaus this time. We also see Marcus greeting him with a clap on the shoulder and him being treated as a member of the family as well.
I wouldn’t really do anything except hinting at a Rynny plot line til the second movie mainly so we could see character growth and relationships a bit easier in Sing 1. However, in Sing 2 we can easily add in the two spending time together along with more flirty interactions. During the rest of the performances, Ryan and Johnny can be seen holding hands off stage, and seem flustered when Nooshy apparently points it out but don’t stop. Ryan is also asleep with his head on Johnny’s shoulder on the bus back to Calatonia, and we see Johnny smiling at him softly.

TL,DR: Ryan and Johnny were each other’s support systems and Ryan essentially served as Johnny’s version of Eddie in Sing 1. In Sing 2, we get to see a lot more development in their relationship and a potential ending alluding to them being a couple.

Answered a few of these before so I've pasted some answers, but also added in a couple bits too ^^
10: Are they proficient in playing any instruments?
Actually yes! Vanquish came from a family of singers, bards, actors. They travelled a lot when she, her sister and brother were tiny putting on plays and musicals with their troupe, but as they got a little older, they settled in a city and her father became quite prolific and set up his own company and theatre.
After shit happened, she kind of got out of practice with a lot of what she learned when younger, except the lyre. She kept playing that all her years, and can still play it beautifully to this day.
Although, it's rare she will.
She'd really love to learn a different instrument, though. It was picking up the lyre and playing during her journey through BG3 that brought back some of her memories - and while thankful, she also wished she could have kept them locked away, for it also reminded her why the lyre is the instrument that lingered.
18: What would your Tav be doing if they weren't kidnapped on the Nautiloid?
I think Van would probably have ended up in one of these scenarios:
1: slowly have her memory return by itself about her past and Nezarr and get as far the fuck away from this place and people as possible, maybe jump on a pirate ship or onto a travelling theatre caravan on to a new adventure, a new world 2: be picked up by Nezarr before any memories start to return and the cycle starts once more 3: her memories refuse to return for a long time and she sets up home and shop somewhere new of what she used to do - divination, tarot and tea leaf readings etc for the locals, Caiphon eventually gifting her, her pet familiar cyclops fox named Onyx
23: What do they do after the absolute crisis?
Alright. Well. This is a long one, enjoy.
Neither of the canon endings really make me happy and work for Vanquish, so I'm rewriting in that tldr; Emps and Orpheus both survive and work together after Vanquish hauling Voss in to help her talk these two into working together to defeat the brain. Then Vanquish pretty much having to body block Orpheus afterwards to stop him ripping The Emperor apart, Voss and Lae'zel one arm each.
Quietly, she says a long, meaningful goodbye to The Emperor and Karlach, who became a mindflayer, and they go off together and start living their lives as they wish, flitting between the Underdark and a home beneath BG.
After a few tense nights hovering by Voss and Lae'zel's sides with the githyanki as they recover and prepare to leave for one of Voss' hidden outposts, Vanquish is sort of, panicking really. Suddenly she'd built up a small group of close, trusted friends and those she could maybe even call more, and now just, everyone's leaving. Everyone has their own lives to fix, to recover.
And she'll once again be alone.
For while at the githyanki camp, she feels like she fits in, at least with Voss and Lae'zel, and she'd burn the world for them. And after what they'd did for them, she knows those loyal to Orpheus and Voss may as well at least listen to her. Respect her. One day see a friend, too.
Voss commands a LOT of respect over the githyanki that follow him, so them seeing him start to see an istik as an equal, they follow.
Orpheus however, Vanquish and he kinda clash. He knows he owes so much to her for what she did for him, their people, but being freed after millenias in chains and silence kinda kicks the hornets nest of emotions for a bit. He'll get there. Also, Voss adores her. And for Voss to adore someone like her, she must have worth, meaning. However, it also stings that Voss adores her.
When they leave, Voss and Lae'zel promise they'll be back for her when they're ready, if she still wants to join their rebellion, and become an honorary warrior. Voss hands her one half of a very old sending stone pair, carved in tir'su that isn't even used anymore, letting her know that either he or Lae'zel will use the other half.
And they kept to their word. Voss returns to her one day on Qudenos to pick her up, and take her to her new home, if that's what she still wants.
(all the while she'd been setting up home in a small, solitary house far outside Baldur's Gate, sometimes checking in with The Emperor and Karlach, sometimes Gale or Astarion. Vanquish used to do a lot of tarot readings, tea leaves, divination stuff etc before all this went down, so she kinda picks that up for a while before Voss comes swooping in)
So, Vanquish in the end joins the githyanki rebellion because of her love for Voss, Lae'zel. And eventually she grows to love Orpheus too, and actually they become weirdly close in that 'you're someone I can sit in a room with for 8 hours and do absolutely nothing with but feel so comfortable and make you a cup of tea without asking and the only word you'll say is thanks and that's fine'.
Also. She steals all of Orpheus' clothes. Until Voss gets her some custom githyanki leather/cloth/fur armour made, as she can't wear anything too heavy because of her burn scars.
He also might gift her a custom githyanki circlet <3
Orpheus refuses to let her have her own dragon though. It's something weird he can't get pat. An istik on a dragon, but also how the knowledge of the dragons were obtained never really leaves him. He's always had a complicated relationship with them. Even after Voss and Qudenos insisted he have his own, Qudenos picking one of his close mates for Orpheus when he and Voss were very young. She always rides with either Lae'zel or Voss. Qudenos takes her out for cheeky solo rides, now and then.
tldr; she joins the githyanki rebellion and a polycule of her, Voss and Orpheus.
30: What's your favorite thing about your Tav?
I think, despite everything that's happened to her, what she's capable of and still does, the sound of her laughter, the kindness in her smile when she adores you, the playfulness she's kept, and somewhere in there in time, her desire to just love, and be loved.
Aesthetically, her skintone is like the Astral Sea, with her navy and white freckles, along with her burn from her patron(s) that kind of melted a large patch of her skin to a strange nebula.

Writer’s Round-Up 2022
I made a post following this writer’s meme on New Year’s Eve last year, so I thought I would repeat it for comparison. It isn’t one you need to be tagged in to do, nor do you need to tag others if you do it.
Total Word Count:
I have published a total of 68,570 words! Compared to 2021’s 31,021 that’s 2.2x as much!
New Things This Year:
There’s three main things that come to mind.
I started writing Hermitcraft/Life series fic!
I made some new writing friends I think deserve a shoutout. First @stitchthesewords and @atherix, and more recently @sparksnevadas and @mochiwrites. I love their works and admire each of them for their craft and their style of writing, so making their acquaintance has been lovely.
Finally I have rediscovered the joy in writing. Last year is struggled so much with anxiety about writing and publishing fic, to the point that it was preventing me from writing. I think I am a lot more confident in my own ability now, and more importantly I’ve become more comfortable with my own shortcomings. All writers have room to improve, and the best way to do that is by writing. If it is too frustrating I stop, and if not I write it as well as I can and accept that my writing is best when I am enjoying the process.
Fic I spent the most time on:
Could I Be The Sky for sure. I spent about four months working on it, and I am so proud of how far I came through the process of writing it. As such I think the story gets stronger the further you read, and the third chapter + the epilogue are by far my favourites.
Favourite thing I wrote:
Hmm. See, the thing is, I like a lot of what I wrote.
Other than CIBTS, which means a lot to me for a lot of reasons, I think the answer has to be one of the Equinox AU fics. However, because they are all part of one story I struggle to pick one. Possibly the latest, In the Darkness You Reap, or maybe the one before that Harbour Me, Guide Me Home
I also really enjoyed writing "We Double as a Drama Troupe" not least for the excuse to use a little bit of the 0.5 theatre degree I earned before dropping out of university. I think it’s funny, and that I got the characters pretty spot on.
Favourite thing I read:
Oh there’s so many. Genuinely.
I read less Warcraft fanfiction now than I did last year, but I still just want to give a shoutout to that fandom for the amazingly high level of writing quality. I specifically want to list @khadgarfield’s Convergence. I love the language it uses, especially for descriptions. In fact I think of it often while writing myself.
Another favourite was @milo-hypno’s Aftershocks of Divinity. This fic… wow, this fic. I don’t think I will ever read another romance/slowburn fic and not compare it to this. The way Aftershocks of Divinity treats the subject of love, of recovery, is genuine and poetic enough that it brought my to tears even as I was reading it for the third time - and it is one of those where rereading it adds to the story.
And lastly, I would be remiss not to mention the Midnight series by @atherix. Oh Midnight. I don’t even know where to start listing all the things I love about it. Atherix, friend, you are the master of world building and foreshadowing. Midnight is fun to read because it rewards paying attention to details. Oh, and then there’s the characterisation, of course. It has that perfect mix of accurate to canon and sensible in the context of the AU it is set within. This one is a masterclass in slowburn as well, and were it a little less late I would dig out a screenshot of me messaging the group chat full of people who do not read Hermitcraft fic, letting them know that the OT3 from the fic series I keep talking about finally got together.
Writing goals for next year:
There’s projects I want to start working on and ones I want to keep working on. Equinox and Kingdom of Boatem AU are the main two, but they aren’t necessarily a goal.
I think most of all I just want to keep working towards writing being something that brings me joy and creative satisfaction. I’ve come so far in 2022, I want to keep up that good work.

weird questions for writers
these are going to be under the cut because they're long as hell! i said too much!
18. Choose a passage from your writing. Tell me about the backstory of this moment. How you came up with it, how it changed from start to end.
Ok I'm going to veer off the rails here and talk about my Onceleer fanfiction, AKA my magnum opus.
“Because I knew it wasn’t going to. Stop me, I mean. Because I’d done everything, I’d had everything, and I felt empty. I reached the peak of the mountain I’d been climbing since the day I’d been born. Instead of enjoying the victory, I was consumed with the knowledge all that surrounded me was waste. It was cold, and it was desolate, and it was everything, and it was nothing, and it was mine . It washed over me. That was it, that feeling, in that moment, that was all that I was ever going to feel. After all of my work, those were my wages.” 
He’s not sure why he’s rambling about all of this to the one person in the universe guaranteed to have no sympathy for him. Hell, maybe that’s why he’s rambling to him about this. Maybe he’s past the point of needing sympathy. Maybe he wants a little bit of retribution for his actions after all.
He sips his cold coffee. 
I went into this knowing exactly what story I wanted to tell because I had this picture in my head of the One-ler and the Lorax having a conversation together at the end of the world. Actually writing that, though...well, it's surprisingly both difficult and easy to write a fanfiction This Serious about Dr. Seuss's The Lorax.
With this passage specifically, they're sort of at the point of the conversation where the Once-ler realizes he doesn't know how they got there. The implication is that they might be in hell, or purgatory, or he might be going crazy, or he's so broken at this point that the answer of where they are and how they got there isn't important anymore. I had him talking through the last things he remembered, and one of those things was the last tree falling.
I watched the scene from the movie (which actually I don't even really enjoy the 2012 movie that much, it's complicated AHAHA) and then afterward just sort of sat there and thought. like. god. this sad fucking man. even his mom left him after this.
I just thought about how I thought he might feel in that moment, when he realized he'd destroyed the world for nothing.
Also, it didn't hurt that I had recently gotten what I thought was my dream job and then ended up in a new city by myself where I was making lots of money but had no friends and hated my life.
The 'it was cold and it was lonely and it was everything and it was nothing and it was mine' felt a little like projecting, but tbh all my writing is a form of therapy sometimes.
In terms of how it changed from start to end, I'm absolutely ridiculous and I usually only write one draft of a scene. I think about it and play around with it in my head for weeks but once I write something I'm like..."yeah okay, this slaps"
25. What is a weird, hyper-specific detail you know about one of your characters that is completely irrelevant to the story?
Ok this is fun. Irrelevant to any fanfiction but the villain-protagonist of my novel joined a theatre troupe once in his late teens, did one very bad performance, and then decided he absolutely hated it.
Also, I have decided that in my story The Darkling is the kind of person who's really weird about chewing. Like. He has to make sure he chews an equal amount of times on both sides of his mouth so that the other side doesn't get left out.
26. How do you get into your character’s head? How do you get out? Do you ever regret going in there in the first place?
OMG every day I regret diving in there!! I literally don't get out!! My favorite perspective to write in is third person limited, it's the POV I wrote my novel in and it's the POV I'm currently writing A Good Myth in so I spend a lot of time in my character's head. For my fanfiction, I spend a LOT of time dwelling in canon. Once I know I'm working on something I stay away from other fics so that my version of the character is only aligned with canon and not other fan interpretations. I literally reread every single Kaz POV chapter in the duology probably 15 times at first.
For my original works, I make sure I know like...every single detail about the character. I usually spend several months with my characters before I actually even start writing whatever I'm working on until I know them backward and forward and can just sort of live inside their brains.
Generally speaking, for original works and for fanfiction, I make playlists for them, I listen to songs and imagine how they would feel listening to said songs, I create pinterest boards like these.
Getting out of their heads, though??? That doesn't really happen. Sometimes I'll be going through my day and I'll just think about them, or how they would feel about things or react to them. It's like all the characters in my stories are little imaginary friends and also I'm insane, idk.
I'm a very empathetic writer so if I'm writing a scene and the character is anxious, I'll be anxious while writing it. If a character is fighting and they start crying I'll start to tear up. If they're getting heated I'm getting heated.
It can be exhausting tbh so sometimes I wish I had a different style of writing because I can really only sit down and dedicate myself to it when I'm in a good headspace.

What is dance? That's an interesting question. I guess everyone's answer is different, right? Just like a thousand readers have a thousand Hamlets, right? The art of dance, as we all know, must be about the movement of the body. It should be composed of a series of body movements. So, what do you think is dance? I think everyone knows dance differently at different stages! For example, I used to think that dance must be a perfect blend of technique and art. Now, I seem to have a more open and tolerant attitude towards dance. I think as long as it belongs to the movement of the human body is considered dance. Dance should not be confined to a small area, but should allow more people to participate and dance together happily. But it is possible that this is just what I think now, and maybe it will not be long before I think dance is some other state again.
What exactly is dance? I think the concept of dance itself is a cyclical process, from simple to complex and back to simple again, constantly deconstructing, structuring and restructuring. But no matter what, the art of dance never leaves the movement of the body.

I am from China and have been trained professionally in dance since I was a child. During my previous dance study in China, I had studied Chinese classical dance, Chinese folk dance, ballet, modern dance, etc. I was considered to have a relatively comprehensive exposure to each dance genre. Later, I joined the workforce and worked at the Shaanxi Provincial Opera and Dance Theatre. Because of the local cultural characteristics, most of our troupe danced some Chinese classical dances and some local folk dances in Shaanxi. I also took part in some modern dance workshops myself. In the past ten years of my career, I have been doing dance-related things every day. Either teaching dance, performing dance myself, or creating dance works. Sometimes I don't even know whether I love dance or whether I am used to it. Of course, before I came to England, I thought that dance was a physical art, and that dance needed to express your thoughts and emotions through your body. However, after I came to England, my thinking started to change a bit.

I used to know that dance, like other art forms, is a social ideology that reflects the social life of human beings. Dance is a performing art, dance is composed of a sequence of movements called dance. And dance is a type of art. "Art is all from life and above life." Therefore, I am well aware of the relationship between dance and life. In addition, I know that there are different theories of the origin of dance, such as "labor theory", "game theory", "witchcraft theory", "expression theory" and "sex theory". "Sexuality theory", "Labor synthesis theory”(Peng, 2006). These are all things that I learned in the course of my previous studies. I never seemed to have the spontaneity to go back to my roots and think about "what is dance”?

I remember the first choreography class I took when I came to England. I can't remember what the topic of that class was. Because I arrived in the UK late last year, the first class was still inexplicable at the time. I vaguely remember the homework that some students returned. With my perception at that time, it was somewhat irritating to me. Because they did not dance up, just some life movement demonstration. After that class, I started to think, what is dance? Is it a copy of everyday life? Or is it something that needs to be refined through artistic processing? At that time, this question troubled me a lot. I can even say that I could not accept the reproduction of the movements of life.
I arrived in the UK in November last year, which is quite late. I hadn't yet fully adapted to the teaching style in the UK. But I vaguely remember the assignments that some of my classmates returned during my first choreography class. It confuses me a bit,given my perception at the time. Because they didn't dance, they just showed some life movements. After that class, I started to think, what is dance? Is it a copy of everyday life? In my traditional perception, I thought dance should be a perfect combination of technique and art.( Laws, 2002) I reflected that if it is a reproduction of life movements, is there a need to learn dance? Any natural person should be able to do that, and how can we need to go through such a long learning process?
But, by this semester. I noticed that my thinking started to change. I was able to accept the reproduction of life actions as they were. There were even times when I would choose to express myself in this way. I would feel that this way was more natural, more real, more like a living person dancing. Now, in turn, I ask myself "what is dance"? I would say that everything is dance. Everything in life, not only people, but also all the objects that exist in this world. The swaying of a tree in the wind is also the dance of a tree. The process of rain falling when it rains, when it falls to the ground, all of this should be considered a dance! I think my mind has opened up and I can accept everything and enjoy life and the joy that dance brings me. More focused on the feeling of self. And this feeling, now I think that people who work in the arts must have a kind of ability. They must have a keen sense of feeling. So, back to the essence of the question, what is dance?

French philosopher Nancy, "dance stands on the edge of discourse, the original dance is the dance of cells in the embryo, dance is ambiguous and vague, but it is all related to the body, or rather the movement of the body, the expansion of the soul outward is related to dance”(3). In the history of modern dance, it is the process of continuous innovation and reconstruction of artistic style by generations of dancers. So each dance artist has his or her own unique way of movement.
In 1930, the American dance scholar John Martin established the artistic manifesto of dance ontology "dance is movement”(4), following the modernist thinking that dance can be a subject of movement and can exist independently without being attached to other arts such as music and drama. In addition, Martha Graham's technical approach, the Limon technique, etc., is focused on the technical expression of the body and the pursuit of the truth, freedom and power of the body itself from the emotional point of view. And to find the expression of the personality. This is why the people of this period thought that dance was an artistic expression through a continuous combination of movements and rehearsals and designs. This pursuit led to the creation of many sets of reproducible movement languages. These movements could be used over and over again in different works.  The aesthetic form of the time was one of connection, reproducibility, completeness, and other key words of modernity.

The development of modern dance into the 1950s saw some solidification. As a result, postmodern dance artists of the 1960s began to question again what dance really was, and the negative manifestoes of the 1962 Jadson Theatre in New York(5), Trisha Brown, David Gordon, Steve Paxton, and Yvonne Raina: "Say no to virtuosity; no to transformative models and fictions; no to the glamour and transcendence of the star image. Say no to sound; say no to the anti-hero; ban performers and audience participation; reject performers invoking trickery to seduce the audience; say no to eccentricity, etc." It is to express that one does not have any style. Each of these dancers used their own practices to adjust the solidified ideas of the period. Breaking the solidified system developed by the founders of modern dance. Later on, they also organized the Grand Alliance movement to explore the experimental ones. But in the end, the style of this generation of artists did not escape to the stage of forming a solidification.
Later in the mid-1990s non-dance forms emerged in France(6). Maybe the dancers on stage were not getting up and dancing or not dancing as they were traditionally perceived! They started to discuss and perform on stage doing certain acts. Many people couldn't accept this approach at first. Famous representatives include Jerome Bell, Xavier Le Roy, Boris Charmatz, etc. This way was created so that dance could happen to all people. But they themselves did not consider it a non-dance form. They wanted dance to bring them liberation.

What is dance and what is it? I think dance is all movement related to the body.
This question may always have a different answer as society evolves. But, go dance! As Pina Bausch said, "I don't care how you move, but why you move". Enjoy and perceive the process of your dance! It doesn't matter how you move, just be aware that you are there.
Let's dance! As the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche said, "Every day you don't dance is a day you don't live.

The headcanon will mostly cover their daily lives shenanigans, and maybe some little backstory for them I thought for a while now.

First of all; both of them love art and music.
C'mon, even their season names said so—
Anyway, it's clear that Rhythm and Performance had different preferences.
Rhythm is in a musical troupe, occasionally touring the kingdom with his group to perform.
While Performance took interest in theatrical productions. The village was more than happy to build a theatre for his own troupe to perform.
Of course, the two of them would watch each others shows. Though Performance couldn't often watch it because Rhythm's troupe continuously had to go to various places in a short time span. Likewise.
Both of them had considered of doing a collaboration.
It may took a long time to plan though, easier said than done.
But if it ever happens, it must be the best performance in the whole valley.
Let's all hope together—
Oh! I tend to think that Performance is the messy type, while Rhythm is the organized one.
Did I just assumed that based on their hairstyles?
Yes. Yes I did.
Besides, Performance do look like he just woke up from bed.
Nah, more like from his work desk.
Imagine this: Rhythm who's brushing his hair in a peaceful morning looked at Performance from the mirror who's stumbling down the stairs.
Rhythm thought he saw a ghost for a second.
In Performance's hands held a bunch of scribbled papers, that he called his masterpieces.
"Rhythm! Look! I finally found what's lacking in our previous show—it was a simple issue all along, people want more suspense!"
"Erm ... good for you, I guess? To be frank, what I think you are lacking is sleep."
Rhythm knew his brother will push his limits when perfecting his craft, especially when Performance isn't satisfied. He already warned him to look out his own health, unfortunately it didn't quite do well.
Even a bad review last year still haunts Performance till this day. Just. One. Bad. Review.
Rhythm just wants Performance to loosen up.
So he usually took his younger brother to the village's hotspring when their schedules are free.
Best bonding moment ever.
OH. They're orphans by the way. Their hometown is in The Wind Paths, then after coming of age they set off to other places—decided to reside in Village of Dreams.
They are finally happy here :D
