i am walking through town. i stop to rummage through the mayor's trashcan, where i find a whole baguette. thrown out. it falls to the ground and i pick it up, putting it into my backpack with the dirt and coal and mysterious ocean jellies. i enter the mayor's home. i look him in the eye and hand him the baguette. we stare at each other momentarily.

"That's very nice of you. Thanks."

i pull out a jar of mayo and consume it, whole. the glass crunches and mayonnaise drips on the floor. when the door closes behind me, i hear lewis sighing in relief from inside the house.

the mayor is in hell, and i am his personal demon.

“stardew valley is so relaxing” i am struggling to make ends meet. yesterday i was swarmed by bugs and passed out and the resident homeless guy found me, dragged me back to my home, and stole half of what was in my backpack. the day before that the only doctor in town found me passed out in my OWN FUCKING HOUSE TWO FEET FROM MY BED and still billed me 200g in medical bills. i watered one plant and have become incredibly fatigued. the mayor i met 2 days ago just asked me to fetch his boxers from the animal farmer he’s having an affair with instead of getting them his damn self. i have never been more stressed in my life.

mayor lewis leaves you a wrapped box of parsnip seeds inside to plant when you first move in and the bed in your home is very different than the one we see grandpa laying on in the cutscene. they're always working together on various projects around town so i like to believe lewis and robin tried to make the place nice for you after being abandoned for so many years. and she even decorates it with her homemade furniture to match your farm <3 they really wanted to make you feel welcomed to pelican town, didn't they?

Mayor Lewis kinda sorta sucks a fair amount but the funniest thing other than the purple shorts is the truffle oil.

Listen, dude. If you wanted high quality truffle oil, that's valid. You don't need to elaborate. You ever have truffle fries? Sublime. You're also paying me to make it so it's whatever.

But when the quest is called "mayor's need" and is very insistent that he won't explain what it's for, and that it's probably not my business what he uses it for, that would piss me off.

Are you going to make me build a barn, upgrade the barn three times, then buy and raise a pig, then make it dig for truffles, then make the truffle into a delicious truffle oil, SO YOU CAN USE IT AS LUBE????????? YOU'RE GOING TO SEND ME A LETTER ASKING ME TO MAKE YOU A MUSHROOM FLAVOURED LUBE?????

Bro I'm gonna climb on that bigass statue you built and start screaming at passersby that you commissioned me (and by extension the carpenter and the rancher) to make quality truffle oil so you can use it with the rancher. I'm the mayor now bitch.
