So if you see Nightmare as P1 and Strawberry as P2... And some games go to the maximum of 4 Players.. what would you think P3 and P4 look and act like? Is one of them genuinely friendly?
Oh right !! That's actually interesting to think about...
(very old ask, related to these)
Okay so, after reading about color-coded multiplayer and searching up other alternate Goopmares in Google and just contemplating for a while, I realize there's so much to think about because I could technically be making two whole new character alternate ideas for Nightmare (which is what anon is probably asking for but uh yeah lol)
The thing is, there are already so many flavor alternates of NM (usually of the sweet kind) and I think it's fun for ppl to design their own Goopmares aesthetic-wise? I guess? Ppl just wanna doodle smth cute and I think that's neat and valid, go ham if it makes you happy :]
(I also found this amino page which has a list of so much more variants??wh)
(For some reason I'm struggling because I have to think about lore; the corruption/goop incident and Dream, and how that character just becomes... Goopmare? or that's just my brain making things difficult for me lmao)
Since NM is made of/covered in whatever negativity goop is and S!NM is, well, strawberry goop, I'm trying to think of a different 'type/theme' that the goop can be, maybe sour or bitter? or something with nature or another element? toxic waste?
P3 and P4 characters (usually green & yellow) are basically just alternate color palettes, and I don't think I've actually encountered any P3/P4 AU content ever... (At this point they're just your regular alternates/variants; think Fell (P2), Swap (P3), and Swapfell(P4))
And tbh my brain unfortunately cannot think up of more than one goopy boy so I'll leave that up to the people to be creative (´-﹏-`;)

One of the most interesting things about The Murderbot Diaries to me is that you have a main character who is effectively a shepherd in a setting where it believes not only are the sheep above it (it may resents this fact but still does believe it, just not in the way it’s supposed to) but that upon learning its true identity that the members of its flock will misidentify the shepherd the same way it does itself; as a wolf.

we get a lot of really great stuff in system collapse about murderbot's relationships with ART and ratthi, which makes sense, because it spends almost the entire book with them. but i also love how even though mensah isn't there for most of the story, other people keep reminding mb of her:
chapter 2, page 25: “From ART’s personnel file, she [Karime] was older than Mensah and she didn’t look like an intrepid space explorer, either, even in the protective environmental suit.”
2, 27: “It took Karime three seconds to process the abrupt statement. (She was almost as good at not looking annoyed as Mensah was.) She kept her expression neutral and patient.”
2, 28: “In the underground colony room, Karime lifted her brows. ‘Another occupied site?’ I thought she was being careful not to show too much reaction. It was the way Mensah would have played it.”
4, 70: “Iris looked at me and I saw her hesitate, because her hesitation looked a lot like Dr. Mensah’s hesitation. And I realized I really didn’t want to go down there.”
5, 104: "Iris has that same thing as Dr. Mensah, the thing where she’s able to look and sound calm under circumstances where shit is possibly about to go down.”
it's spent so much time with her and it knows her so well and respects her so much that she's the model against which it compares all other humans. it thinks about her when they're not together. it's protective of her. it has such total faith in her competence. it (non-romantically) loves her and doesn't want to not see her again. idk man, it just gets to me! and they were teammates (oh my god they were teammates!!)
bonus:
I said, aloud, "You have to be kidding me." (ch. 2, p. 28)
seven pages later, in reaction to the same thing:
Mensah had had time to review the feed video. She muttered, "Oh, you have to be kidding me."
Yeah.
twinsies 🥰

This throwaway line is so hysterical to me bc like though said time and again to be a canonical media junky I never considered the idea of Murderbot watching meme videos? Watching FUTURE SPACE VERSION OF VINES/TIKTOKS?? I CANNOT get over the idea of a saved folder of Classical Memez TM. Does MB know about the Roommates? The PS5???

🎥 — NinaKate Headcanons
your beauty never ever scared me
- after a messy, rough, break up with jeff, and nina realizing he never truly wanted or cared for her, she was completely broken.
- toby couldn’t help, natalie didn’t know how to handle her. but at her worst, nina found solace in kate.
- she had known her prior, due to their mutual acquaintance with toby, but nina never thought much of her due to kates strong dislike for jeff
- plus, kate was always a loner. she was animalistic, feral, she didn’t care much for others and wasn’t even aware of her ability to form relationships with others
- but nina found kate, and kate was so grounding, so rational and tough. she helped snap nina out of her lingering attachment to jeff. kate taught her how to stand up for herself, how to find strength in herself, whether she knew it or not
- and nina was one of the only people who would treat kate as a human being. it was a weird sort of tenderness and care kate hadn’t experienced in years. something she silently yearned for, but beat down so ruthlessly
- but as nina dragged kate to her apartment, the low purple led lights doing well for the ferals light sensitivity, she felt weirdly at peace. she felt like this girl was treating her as if she wasn’t rabid, as if she was something worth fighting for
- kate hated showers, she hated baths. she hated feeling clean. maybe a deeprooted feeling that with losing her humanity, she lost her right to take care of herself as well. nina wasn’t having it. she would run a warm bath, and hum along to kates favourite alice in chain song as she washed out kates matted hair and it felt nice
- nina takes care of kate, shows her kindness and fun beyond what she had ever experienced. and kate keeps nina safe, grounded in reality. if ninas emotions get the better of her, kate is a perfect pillar for her to lean on
- neither of them understood the deep feelings of peace. ninas previous relationship was a warzone, and kate was currently fighting in one.
- so on those late nights with nina resting her head on kates lap as she plays through silent hill, just as she did all those years ago. it was if maybe, just maybe, there was a world waiting for the two girls beyond the destruction
- they weren’t just good friends, they didn’t just understand and help each other. there was a deep love forming, and it hurt when one of them got too far. nina would ask herself if it was okay to kiss a girl, to love another girl like she did, and kate had absolutely no idea what a good relationship looked like
- kates masculinity eased the other into her acceptance of her feelings. but when nina helped bring out kates femininity, it made her a flustered mess. to be able to hold kates rough, calloused hands in hers, and paint her nails a fitting black. to be so close. nina could barely hold herself back from showering the other in hugs and kisses
- kate would find herself adoring the sound of ninas voice, listening to her senseless rambles. she even found herself liking kesha and other pop bands she never thought much of before. she felt so human, so full of the life she thought she had lost so long ago
- an unexpected pair, but ultimately one that worked out for the best. a perfect harmony, a perfect love.
