i sent a similar ask a few weeks ago but idk if it got ate or you deleted it uh do you know any smaller (like ‘not hypixel’) mc servers that are accepting new people? none of my friends want to play with me and it’s driving me to madness :(

the only one i know of personally is denali, which i used to be on but eventually left just because i prefer playing with my closer friends. its a friendly place tho! and i think i found it via some kind subreddit for advertising servers, so i imagine you could find others over there too.

People pushed against Denali as she struggled to keep up with Willow and not poke an eye out on an extra sharp stud. She felt small and out of place amongst all of the leather and mesh and alternativeness in the room and her head was starting to hurt from whatever the noise in the club was.

“Careful, princess,” some guy leered as she passed by and she broke into a staggered jog to catch up with Willow’s much smaller frame. Despite the height difference, she felt almost like a shield tonight.

“Oh, my God!” Willow squealed, reaching her friends at the front of the crowd, right in front of the stage currently housing some raggedy looking guys who appeared to be abusing some poor instruments. “The line-up tonight is so great!” she screamed at the tallest of her friends, who Denali presumed was the famous Daya… who had been the one to find the punk venue and concert for their unlikely little group.

Willow, Daya and their other friend, Bosco, didn’t look like they belonged, but they acted like it. Meanwhile, Denali and the other two girls in their mish-mashed group looked about ready to jump out of their own skin - and their very much not punk inspired outfits - and out the door.

“Those were Black Spot!” the MC climbed up onto the stage and the crowd went wild, people throwing themselves at each other, surprisingly not impaling themselves on each other’s spikes, hands shooting up into the air, beer sloshing dangerously around Denali and her brand new red dress. “But we have something even better, coming up are Stephanie’s Child!”

The whole club erupted, the noise almost deafening for Denali as she was pushed forwards by the surge of the crowd, right up against the edge of the stage. Apparently people loved this group.

And the ‘I fricken love women’ part in Denali couldn’t say she didn’t understand why as the three women appeared up on stage in leather jackets, leotards, ripped up tights and insane make-up. Denali couldn’t take her eyes off of them, not that she could have even if she wanted to, trapped against the side of the stage as she was.

They didn’t sound half as bad or as loud as the band before, but then again, Denali wasn’t exactly an expert on punk. Or maybe she wasn’t listening close enough, distracted as she was by the blonde in front of her. Everytime the blonde looked at her with a curious glint in her eyes and a smirk quirking up the corner of her lips, she felt her legs give out a little. Denali never thought she could be grateful to the asshole trying to push through her to get to them, but this wasn’t the first weird twist of the night.

By the time their slot ended, she was so absorbed by the performer that she didn’t even feel the people around her anymore. As the MC gave them a sendoff and the crowd went wild again, instead of exiting with her bandmates, the blonde swung her legs towards the crowd in a strangely graceful way and came to sit on the wooden platform. Right next to Denali.

“You’re so fucking cute,” she said, her face inches away from Denali’s as the music started back up again. “What are you doing here?”

“Came to listen to the music?” Denali answered a little unsure of herself, but feeling confident that she wasn’t making a fool of herself.

“You couldn’t even say that with a straight face,” the blonde burst into a loud laugh. “But that’s fine, by me. I have two very important questions for you, doll. First, what’s your name?”

“Denali,” she gulped, as the blonde’s face was still very close to hers.

“Nice to meet you, Denali,” she sounded out her name carefully, smirk tilting the corner of her mouth upwards. “I’m Rosé. And I would very much like to ask my second question: can I kiss you?”

“Umm, yeah,” Denali said, blushing, her eyes darting between Rosé’s eyes and her mouth. She noticed her smirk become even smugger as she wrapped her arms around Denali’s waist and pulled her in between her legs. As soon as their lips connected, Denali found herself very grateful for the support, her legs having completely given out from under her.

“It’s alright, I got you, baby,” Rosé reassured, tightening her arms around her body.

Rosé shivers.

"Why does every ice rink have to be so cold?"

Denali raises her eyebrows at her as if to say really, stupid? and continues working on her artful bun. Rosé crosses her arms over her chest and continues to sulk against the lockers. She can't help that she forgot her jacket at the office in her rush to get to the rink in time for Denali's competition. Now she's shivering in the locker room while Denali sits on the floor in front of the mirror doing her hair.

The life of a skating wife isn't a glamorous one.

Denali grumbles as another strand of hair falls out of her updo. Rosé pushes off of the lockers and stands behind Denali, puts her hands on her shoulders. They're tense.

"Here," Rosé says, massaging the tight muscles at the base of Denali's neck, "let me help you with this."

Denali nods gently -- careful not to mess up her hair even more -- and hands the bobby pins over to Rosé. "Thanks, baby."

"Of course."

Rosé starts working with the pins, places Denali's dark waves in just the right spot so tendrils spill out of her bun and down to her face in curls. She adds some rhinestoned pins for dramatic effect, and then she reaches for the hair spray that's on the bench. She sprays it all down, careful to keep it out of Denali's face, until the hair is flat and a little crunchy -- which means it isn't going anywhere no matter how high Denali jumps or how fast she spins.

"All done?" Denali asks.

"All done." Rosé checks her watch and then pulls Denali up from the ground, settles her on her skates. "It's almost time for the event to start, let's get out there."

Denali nods and tosses her phone in her bag before shoving it in a locker rather unceremoniously. Rosé lets Denali go through her pre-competition routine -- one long stretch, a breath, and walk. She doesn't even think any of this is conscious to Denali anymore, but she finds it fucking adorable.

She trails behind Denali like a puppy as she confidently struts through the locker room. They get to the door just as it flies open and a flurry of turquoise feathers and sequins storms in, heading straight for Denali.

The personified peacock scoffs and shoves Denali into the wall. Rosé moves into the middle of the hallway to stop her in her tracks.

"Woah, Tonya Harding, calm down," Rosé says. "What the hell was that?"

The peacock whirls on Denali, who's still pressed against the wall. "You got me disqualified."

Rosé sees that Denali's holding her shoulder -- this woman is dead if she injured Denali -- and that she's pretty shaken, so Rosé pulls her off of her.

"I said calm down." Rosé puts herself between Denali and the peacock. She'll guard Denali with her life if she has to.

"Who's your fucking guard dog, Foxx?" the peacock asks.

Rosé narrows her eyes. "I'm her wife. And if she got you disqualified, then you obviously did something wrong. Now back off."

"Rosie," Denali says quietly, "let's just go."

Rosé puts her hand on Denali's back and leads her through the locker room door. Once they're a safe distance away and out of the peacocks earshot, Rosé stops them and leans closer to Denali. "Baby, are you okay?"

Denali nods. "I hit my shoulder hard but-- I'm fine."

"Can you compete?"

"Yes," Denali says. Rosé's cheeks are red with anger and she's finally warm, now, since there's adrenaline running through her veins. She must look like she's about to go ruffle some peacock feathers, because Denali hooks her arms around Rosé's waist, both to embrace her and to trap her. "It's fine, Rosie. Just ignore her."

"What did she do, anyway?" Rosé asks.

Denali looks around. More women are filtering into the rink-side waiting area. "She was trying to hurt some of the younger girls in practice," Denali answers quietly. "Like, trying to land on them and 'accidentally' blade them."

Rosé looks down at her wife and smiles slowly. "Look at you, Nali." She tips her chin up and kisses her quickly. "Preventing another Nancy Kerrigan situation."

Denali shrugs, bashful. "I just don't want these kids to get hurt."

Over the loudspeaker, the MC announces warmups for the women's free skate are beginning. Rosé walks Denali to the edge of the ice and kisses her cheek.

"Get out there and show them how it's done, baby."
