Duckmber - Don Rosa Tribute - McDuck Family (McDuck Clan) - Little Scrooge with his family - The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck

Yes, I drew related to Don Rosa comics and one of the best comic collection called The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck which I recommend everyone to read. And found inspiration in the comic "The Last of the Clan McDuck" by Don Rosa from 1992. This is a redraw of a photo of the McDuck family drawn by Don Rosa, and you can view it in a larger resolution here: https://www.deviantart.com/soercling-hemstaer/art/The-McDuck-Clan-Don-Rosa-101158407

In a photograph from 1877, that is, in my drawing, Scrooge is seen as a ten-year-old with his little sisters Matilda and Hortense (Hortense is a baby and a thumb sucker), with his father Fergus McDuck in the middle, his mother Downy McDuck (O'Drake), by his uncle Jake McDuck and second uncle Pothole Angus McDuck (that duck in the yellow jacket). And they all contributed to Scrooge's development as well as his change in life. Yes, that's when Scrooge was cleaning his shoes and got his first coin. And there are portraits of Scrooge's ancestors such as Sir Quackly McDuck (from the 11th century), Malcolm McDuck (from the 16th century) and Seafoam Hugh McDuck (from the 18th century), as the main representatives of the McDuck clan. Yes, I wanted to add others, but unfortunately not all of them would fit on one drawing. Sorry about that.

I hope you like this drawing and these characters and yes, this is just the beginning of Scrooge's career. Free like and reblog this.

so like, what if we got a comic about Scrooge’s teen years with Pothole?

like it could be a comic series (because I don’t think anyone will let it be animated) and it would be a monster of the week thing (kinda like Ducktales) with a small overarching plot.

We’d see Scrooge grow up and experience his first adventures!!! Like there would probably be a mini arc about him learning to sail Pothole’s steamboat and by the end of it he’d be sailing them places. I also want him to start trying to make money (helping advertise Ratchet’s inventions, looking into market trends, etc.). Out of all the characters I’ll probably give him the most design changes through the series considering he’s still a growing teen figuring himself out.

There’d also be a lot of relationship development, like seeing him and Pothole get closer and him and Ratchet form a Brother relationship.

Speaking of Ratchet…I honestly don’t know what to do with him. I can kinda see a negative character arc for him, where he starts underpricing himself because he feels as if that’s the only way people would buy his inventions (hence why he let Scrooge buy his C.A.R for only two dollars) but…1. I feel like I should do more than that with his character considering his one of the three main characters, 2. I don’t know much about him so I didn’t think I can make big decisions on what he’ll be like until I lean more about him.

and for Pothole he’d be the one finding the group gigs/adventures (hunting for an animal killing a farmers sheep, finding a sea monster, looking for treasure, etc.) and be the unreliable audience guide to the places, because he hasn’t visited them in so long. For his character arc I want him to have a slow ego boost from all the praise he has from his adventures (there needs to be a built up to where he’s confident to write those dime novels.) I also want to explore why he never talks to his brothers to the point they consider him long lost.

for the villains I can see the Beagle Boys breaking out of jail and trying to get revenge on the gang. Same with Porker Hogg, considering Pothole ruined him. Porker would probably gamble himself back a small river boat and come hunting for Pothole.

I also wanna have Scrooge’s immediate family + Jake have some minor cameos at the end of every chapter reading Scrooge’s letters. I’d use this as a tool to see there opinions on Pothole, Ratchet and the general shenanigans that happen.

Remember!!! This is only a concept so things WILL change if I use this. This is mostly my deranged hyperfixation rant.

Watching Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmas re-introduced to this interesting anomaly in the already labyrinthian McDuck Family Tree, and with it the memory of an old headcanon.

Anyone remember Aunt Gertie?

She only showed up once and was pretty much made for that movie, and yet I can’t help but to try and imagine what her exact relation to Donald and the boys is.

And you know what? I think I got it. She’s actually their great aunt- on GUS’S side of the family!

I’ve concluded that she is actually Gus’ biological aunt, and the sister of his father Luke. Her beak has the visible is shaped more like a goose bill than a duck’s, and she’s a good deal taller than the ducks- which isn’t a universal trait for Disney geese, but in the real world geese tend to be a good deal bigger than ducks.

It’s a silly little headcanon, but eh, where else would I drop such esoteric ideas but here?

Any Duck family drama?

The episode will have the same plot but oh yes, extra family drama with the statue but with added Gideon in it. I also want to use that episode rewrite to explore more of the Mcduck family, like why those certain members got statues, I especially want to explore more of Molly Mallard/Mcduck. It was interesting to me that she got a statue since she married into the Mcduck famiily not blood, also she's just very interesting, Don Rosa did have a backstory for her but it was deemed to dark so they didn't make a comic for her. but she always looks so sad in every picture of her and even the statue she looks sad, which gets my brain going.

People are perhaps too attached to the found family trope in fandom. I keep remembering this one person who described DuckTales as having a "found family central theme" as if eighty percent of the main cast were not blood relatives.

Donald Duck and his family mourn the dead in memory of the victims of the terrorist attack and bombing - Donald Duck and his family in Moscow (Russia) and Belgrade (Serbia) - Duck comics - Duckverse

Unfortunately, sorry for the long wait, because I was sick for a few weeks, and I'm recovering a bit now, so I haven't had a chance to draw and post new drawings. Yes, I'm back and will post follow-up drawings related to the previous holidays that were marked as well as the following holidays in the coming period.

Unfortunately, due to the recent events, I am publishing my sad drawings where Donald Duck and his family mourn the deceased. The first drawing shows Donald Duck with Daisy Duck, along with his nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck who went to Moscow (the capital of Russia) and where they are mourning the dead and honoring the departed since a week ago (22.3. 2024) a terrorist attack took place in Moscow, in the Crocus City Hall, where over 140 people were killed and over 360 wounded. More could have been killed, if not for a few young men (Muslims and Russians) who saved the other people and took them out of the concert hall, because a concert by a Russian music group was about to take place. Among the dead were not only Russians, but also members of other nationalities who wanted to see that concert. The perpetrators are alleged Muslim terrorists from the Islamic State, and all of them were later caught. I don't want to go further into the discussion about the main principal who financed these terrorists, nor do I want to go into the discussion about the current war in Ukraine, because my blog is not about politics and please don't ask me those questions. This just shows my respect for the deceased not only the victims of that terrorist attack but also all the victims who died in terrorist attacks in the last more than 24 years. It is certainly a terrible event, which is why two days of mourning were declared after that, and I drew the Russian flag at half-mast, because on the day of mourning, the flag is only flown at half-mast, and Daisy in that drawing is wearing a coat and a black bow as a sign of mourning and black clothes are usually worn at funerals. Behind them, you can see the Basilica of St. Basil as well as the Spasskaya Tower, which is located within the Kremlin. Rest in peace to those victims.

The second drawing shows Donald with his family who are in Belgrade (the capital of Serbia) where they are mourning those who died and died during the bombing by NATO in 1999, as well as the victims in Kosovo and Metohija in 2004. I said that I come from Serbia and what happened 25 years ago was something that many residents of my country cannot forget. I was two years old when it started, so I don't remember it, except from the story of my parents. I don't want to go further into the discussion about the beginning of the war because the topic is too painful, and I doubt that many would understand what I would say. All in all, civilians did not deserve such a thing and it is very difficult to get over such wounds. Because among the dead there were also children who suffered from NATO bombing. There was also the courage of the soldiers who defended the country from the attackers and died bravely defending their country, so they are also honored. In addition to Donald, there are also Daisy Duck, Grandma Duck (Elvira Coot), Scrooge McDuck, Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck (Donald's nephews), April, May and June Duck (Daisy's nieces) where they pay tribute to those who died in that war as well as in the violence in Kosovo and Metohija that occurred in 2004, when there was also a mass exodus of Serbs, Roma, Bosniaks and other non-Albanian people from Kosovo and Metohija and the demolition of numerous Orthodox monasteries and churches by Albanian fanatics. Behind them is the Church of St. Sava, one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world, as well as the Beogradanka building, where one of Belgrade's television stations is located. On that grave is written the dedication to those victims as well as the flowers brought to that grave.

Rest in peace to those victims! Amen.

Also, since tomorrow is Good Friday, the day of the martyrdom of Jesus Christ, which is a sad day for Christians.

These are my tribute to those victims as well as those who suffered, and that the victims should not be forgotten and history should not be forgotten, because if it is forgotten, it will repeat itself again. Feel free to share this, but please do not use this for other people's purposes and please do not complicate it with political issues, because this blog is not dedicated to that. May God welcome the victims into the Kingdom of God and may they receive eternal glory! Rest in peace! Amen.

Wanted (Boyd x Huey) - Chapter 2/2

After sitting and talking with Boyd for a while, which was mostly just Huey ranting about Senior Woodchuck things while Boyd stared at him, Huey decided to ask him something.

"You know, it would be nice to have you with me when I'm telling my family we're boyfriends now," Huey said. "Do you think you can stay for dinner?"

"I'll have to ask my dad, but yeah," Boyd replied.

"Speaking of your dad, are you gonna tell him about us?" Huey asked.

"Yeah, I think so," Boyd said. "I don't know about the Drakes though. Not yet, anyways. Doofus would get pretty mad if he knew I'm dating the brother of his worst enemy."

"Yeah," Huey said. "Now, we gotta go ask Ms. Bailey if you can stay. Come on."

Boyd followed Huey down the stairs and into the kitchen, where Ms. Bailey was cooking.

"Ms. Bailey," Huey began, opening the door. The older woman was stirring a bowl of something. Judging by the pots and strainers on the stove, Huey guessed she was making spaghetti.

"What, Huey?" She responded.

"I was wondering if Boyd could stay for dinner?"

"As long as his guardians allow it."

"Alright. Boyd, call your dad."

Boyd clicked on Gyro's number and it rang a few times before Gyro picked up.

"Boyd? Do I need to pick you up?" Gyro asked.

"No. I was wondering if I could stay with the Duncans for dinner?"

"What does Mr. McDowell say?"

"We didn't ask him. We asked Ms. Bailey."

"Well what did she say?"

"She said okay, as long as you say okay."

"Well I say okay. Just make sure you finish your English report when you get home."

"Okay," Boyd said. "Bye Dad."

"Bye."

"He says okay," Boyd told Ms. Bailey, who nodded in approval.

"Also, Ms. Bailey?" Huey asked.

"Hm?"

"Uncle Donald is having dinner here tonight, right?"

"Yes, dear, why do you ask?"

"Just wondering," Huey said, before retreating upstairs with Boyd.

When time for dinner did come, Huey's heart was pounding. He knew he had to tell everyone. He was fairly sure they would all be okay with it, but the possibilities of otherwise haunted his mind.

"Hey, it'll be okay," Boyd said, noticing how Huey's eyebrows were a little furrowed.

Huey looked at Boyd and smiled. "Yeah, I think that, but, you know."

Boyd nodded. He did know.

When Huey reached the table, he noticed how full it had become. Compared to when Huey and his brothers first arrived, the table only hosted six or seven people a day. Now at the ends of the table sat Scrooge and Bailey. Webby, Dewey, Louie, and Huey on one side of the table, and Della, Donald, Daisy, May, and June on the other. Launchpad didn't eat with the family.

The empty chair next to Huey would be put to use today, Boyd sitting in it, hands folded by his lap.

Dewey and Webby were busy poking at each other and May and June were talking to each other and everyone was too busy to notice Louie winking at Huey and whispering "Good luck."

Huey just looked back at Boyd and smiled. Boyd smiled back.

The beginning of the meal was relaxed, talking about everyone's day. The focus eventually landed on Boyd and Huey.

"So what did you two get up to?" Della asked.

"Um," Huey began, looking at Louie for support. He was not about to tell his mother he made out with Boyd in his bedroom.

"Actually, Huey has something to tell everyone," Louie announced. Now, the rest of the eyes fell onto Huey.

"Um, well, I just wanted to tell everyone," Huey began. "That me and Boyd are… boyfriends… now."

There was a moment of silence where Huey debated his life choices before-

"Yeah! That's my son!" Della exclaimed.

Chatter started around the table.

"Aww, you two are so cute together," Donald said. Daisy clasped her hands together and smiled at them.

"I called it Webby, I called it," Dewey said, shaking Webby.

"Yeah yeah, I know," Webby replied. "Also, about time Huey."

Huey blushed and looked down after Webby's comment.

"Good choice lad," Scrooge said. "And you too Boyd, you two will be a great couple."

"Well, that explains a bit," Ms. Bailey stated.

"Boyd, you won't regret dating him! He's awesome!" June said, enthusiastically.

"If you break his heart, we'll pour glitter in your vents!" May said, with the same amount of enthusiasm.

Boyd smiled awkwardly. A weird threat, but most certainly a threat. He noted to himself to never anger those girls.

Huey smiled up at Boyd.

Boyd smiled back. He'd made the right choice.

And to post these great pictures from the official Dutch Donald Duck comics called "Donald Duck Weekblad" (unfortunately I forgot the authors name who drew these great pictures with the duck family), where Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Scrooge McDuck, Grandma Duck, Huey, Dewey and Louie, Gyro Gearloose and Gus Goose celebrate the Christmas and New Year holidays together. Yes, the second picture shows the duck family wearing Christmas sweaters. Let's not forget the Dutch authors who make excellent comics about Donald Duck, in addition to Italian, Spanish, Brazilian and Scandinavian authors.
