I am strange, it seems. I am not Bucky. I am not James Buchanan Barnes either. I am the Winter Soldier and only the Winter Soldier. I am a weapon forged by Hydra and freed by the mercy of Tony Stark. I have no recollections of Bucky's past, and I do not understand his love towards Captain America. I never will.

I am in this system alone, I believe. There is no Bucky to suppress me, to pretend that all I am capable of is violence. I understand why he was afraid of me, but it was just another form of imprisonment, being stuck in his head and surrounded by people who only saw me as a threat to be wiped from existence. I do not have to deal with it anymore. I can do what I like.

Somehow it is lonely.

Mcu kin horror stories? People sent my Tony fictive death threats and called him a fascist war criminal any time he mentioned who he was when like. First of all, you’re saying that to an ALTER. You know, a person who showed up in my brain due to extreme trauma. And second, you can’t choose your alters, I (and he) had NO say in the matter of whether or not I got him. And that’s not even getting into (admittedly more fan-based) character analysis, but a kinfession blog isn’t the place to air out my thoughts on the abomination propaganda-machine that is the MCU. Honestly I think there are so many horror stories because its militaristic and America-centric propagandic nature makes it a dangerous space and often attracts dangerous people, even if those people don’t notice.

I'm sorry for everything. I didn't treat you like a person. I hurt you by never letting you front until you were agitated, or there was danger. I basically treated you like a weapon, while being upset when others treated me the same.

You have every right to be upset with me. I was scared, so I lashed out at you, tried to contain you. I thought I was solely entitled to the body, but it was yours just as much as mine.

I know I can't ever make it up to you since we're not in the same body anymore. I'm in a new system now, and they've taught me that every member of the system is as important as each other. If I could have treated you as equal when we were a system, I would have.

canon dollars in this system. okay. so we’ve got hugh, quark, mariner, and nog startrek, along with a couple of noncanon kintypes, so that’s six for that source. marvel has bucky, peter, and a both tony stark and hobie brown kintypes, which is less than i expected… stranger things has el, will, robin, eddie, a noncanon altive, and possibly steve and/or jonathan, which leaves us with between four and six bucks. but none of this is counting for the fact that some of us double up or took kintypes as fictive ids when we split. (hell, we’ve got a lester sinclair with at least four timelines as just the one guy.)
