Prince Lan Wangji and his devoted General Wei Wuxian are dominating my thoughts again, and I just like the thought of them being in love, and Princeji fastening his forehead ribbon around Generalxian's arm so he can wear it under his vambrace while he's on the battlefield and keep it safe until he returns back to his prince, safe and sound.
Whether the Prince wears a substitute forehead ribbon or his forehead proudly bare, is up to you.

"mom, i'm home and brought lan zhan to do homework with me!" wei ying yelled as soon as he opened the door to their cramped apartment.
"welcome, sweetheart!" cangse sanren yelled back, waving a red stained spatula to the boys "are you staying for dinner tonight, a-zhan?"
a door opened somewhere inside the corridor and footsteps could be heard.
"yes, if i can?" lan zhan bowed as politely as he always were.
"gege!" a soft, happy voice exclaimed, before a body crashed into wei ying's back.
"a-yu! you're home already?" wei ying laughed, turning his face enough to boop his brother's head with his own forehead.
"yep! got our early today because i wanted to see gege~"
"xuanyu." lan zhan greeted the younger one.
the boy only glared at him with a disgusted expression.
"are you a kid?" wei ying laughed and tapped the arms around him "let gege go, i want to clean my bedroom a bit before lan zhan goes there. wait here, lan zhan, i'll call you."
"hm." lan zhan nodded.
xuanyu smiled brightly at his brother, asking if he needed help and being asked to keep their guest company. but, as soon as wei ying turned his back to them and walked further inside the apartment, xuanyu dropped his happy face so quickly it was almost scary, straight up glaring at lan zhan.
"go away, you pest." the boy said.
lan zhan sighed, already used to this.
"wei ying wants me here."
xuanyu glared even harder, sneering, but before he could say anything, a hand chopped his head quite hard.
"your brocon is too much." cangse sanren said with a loud sigh "leave your brother's boyfriend alone."
lan zhan bowed to the woman with respect, and took a package from his bag "uncle sent this."
"oh, my! you shouldn't have! but thank you anyway,~!" cangse sanren pinched lan zhan's cheek and went back to the kitchen with the package and her youngest "have fun with a-ying! and let the door open!"

by vespertineflora (@vespertineflora)
E, Series, WIP, 129k, Wangxian
Summary: For centuries, the villagers surrounding the Qianlian Forest have been beholden to a fearsome creature. A once loved Prince was long ago cursed into a monstrous form, and ever since has required the sacrifice of maidens to ensure the safety of the forest and the people living around it. This forlorn tradition might have continued for centuries longer... but when it comes time for Lotus Pier to send a maiden as tribute, Jiang Yanli is chosen, and Wei Wuxian won't stand for it. His plan is simple; he'll send Jiang Yanli off to live the long life she deserves with her fiancé, and offer himself as a sacrifice to the Prince instead. Kay's comments: Series is marked as incomplete, but feels complete! Part one is the main story and part two is an additional kinky scene added as an extra. This story is incredibly hot and not gonna lie started reading it for the smut, stayed for the plot, because not only are the explicit scenes perfect, but the story is also very compelling and I loved the slowly unravelling mystery aspect of it. I first read this story when it came out and could hardly wait for the next chapter, because I was just so hooked. Here we have Wei Wuxian being sacrified to a mysterious creature in place of Jiang Yanli, only turns out the mysterious creature is plant-tentacle-creature Lan Wangji, known as the Prince, who's not interested in killing Wei Wuxian, but will still make a meal out of him. Slowly but surely, the two of them become closer and Wei Wuxian can't help but want to figure out, what happened to Lan Wangji for him to have turned into this form. Excerpt: Wei Wuxian’s brow furrowed, finding that particularly strange, but just as he was about to kneel down and try to loosen the vine from around his foot, he felt something curl and tighten suddenly around his wrist, directly against the skin--his eyes darted down, just barely registering another vine that had grabbed onto him when-- A question seemed to spill into his his mind. He felt... strangely breathless at the unfamiliar sensation of impression, at the way he could almost feel the echo of words that hadn’t been spoken inside of his head, and at the inexplicable sense of familiarity he was left with. He didn’t actually hear anything, there weren't even really words, so much as just sensation... but he somehow knew what he was being asked all the same. It... this... whatever it was that reaching out to him... wanted to know who he was. “Wei Ying,” he gasped out, his words stumbling slightly as he tried to cope with the intimacy of having something pressing a thought directly into his head like this, before realizing what he’d said. “Ah... Wei Wuxian. I came from Lotus Pier. Are you... are you the Prince?” He... he had to be, didn’t he? Or if the legends were wrong, this was at least whatever entity that everyone called the Prince. It felt like a bit too much of a coincidence to expect one spiritual being at a certain location and run into a completely different one instead. There was a hesitation, something almost unsure, before Wei Wuxian felt the flicker of affirmation in his head. “Well, I... know you’re used to something a little different, but... I’m your offering this time,” Wei Wuxian continued explaining, because he knew this thing wanted him to. His heart was already racing again, the fears that had settled in the lull since his arrival immediately reviving, his thoughts spinning as he was immediately left confronting his mortality once more. “Is that... is that acceptable? Will I work for that?”

I just. I just really need to be done with this one, it started haunting me. ;_;
(The idea is that courting rituals in Qinghe involve sparring with each other a lot and Meng Yao manages to outsmart Nie Mingjue since he cannout outbrawl him. Getting pinned to the ground by his wonderful and clever assistent is not how Nie Mingjue thought he’d spend the day, but he won’t be complaining! It probably awoke a thing or two in him...)

HCQ if they were in a danmei setting
Don’t take this seriously, I’m just having fun
Same canon timeline from game except Elio and Kafka support Ren when recalling his lost memory.
Dan Heng is not shallow enough to believe in the rumors about Dan Feng and he would actually investigate (like Lan Wangji investigating the trigger of Wei Wuxian loss of control)
Jing Yuan would be suspicious and investigate the preceptors in the shadows once he gathers the puzzle pieces (instead of waiting for who knows how many hundreds of years have passed since Dan Feng molting rebirth).
Like Dan Heng, Ren would also have little bits of memory recall (mirages) when he visits old places that he and Dan Feng used to stroll and hangout.
I forgot to mention that Ren and Dan Heng’s relationship is still the same, Ren chasing and telling Dan Heng to pay for their sins.
But this time, he also does some investigating himself when the actual suspicion that during the incident in the past is too strange.
(I just want people to stop thinking Dan Feng is a villain 😔)
Dan Heng having dreams of Dan Feng talking to him.
Unlike in-game again, Jingliu acknowledges that she is an unreliable narrator that she has suspicions of what happened, mentioning that there might be a third party.
Dragon heart theory
Jingliu tries to recall what happened to Baiheng’s remains
Renheng reconciliation arc actually happens.
Ren and Dan Heng have their moments like working together without fighting for once, booking one room and one bed, Ren not admitting he is jealous when he doesn’t know anything about Dan Heng, and Dan Heng comforting Ren when he’s having nightmares.
Jingliu seeks help from Luocha who can aid him to not only communicate with the dead but also proceed their plan against the Aeons.
The way we have readables that suspects the preceptors involvement but Dan Heng never reads them so in this AU, this Dan Heng ACTUALLY READS.
Ren accepts Dan Feng is gone and face Dan Heng in the present. Dan Heng accepts Yingxing might never return and face Ren in the present (in the future Ren’s old habits comes back).
Dan Feng sacrificing the world and his own future to save Yingxing while Dan Heng sacrificing his own lifespan and cloudhymn magic that belonged to the Aeon of Permanence, Long to save Ren.
To get rid of the immortality and return Dan Heng’s full power back, Ren returned the dragon heart to Dan Heng.
Dan Heng waiting for Ren to wake up for 400 years. In those years, Dan Heng cleaned and fixed the mess that Dan Feng was not able to do, remove the High Elder system and took away the elders and preceptors’ duty from teaching the young.
Dan Heng continues the plan Dan Feng of setting his people free from the samsara cycle.
Along the way, Dan Heng was able to find a solution how to get rid of the mara (I ain’t gonna explain that, it’s a long explanation)
Jingliu traveling the world, from planet to planet while carrying the last memento of Baiheng. Promising that they would meet and cross paths again.
Jing Yuan retiring and letting both Fu Xuan and Yanqing handle his duties. He decided to carve his own path and hopes to be able to meet Dan Heng again.
Dan Heng wanted to be there when Ren wakes up but he’s needed by his companions. To the sleeping Ren, he promises he would look for him.
Few days later, Ren woke up to an empty room. Elio, Kafka and Silver came by later while Ren was getting ready to depart with them.
Before they left, Ren told Elio that he would temporarily leave the group soon.
Silver asked why, only for Ren to answer that he has unfinished business with the owner who has the other half of his bracer.
The end. I might have missed something but nothing important, probably!
Having 4/5 unreliable narrators is… hard to accept. Not even Jing Yuan is a reliable one even if he wasn’t involve.
Xianzhou plot is just an overall mess, it’s like almost everyone accepted Dan Feng destroyed the universe or something when there are still sinister masterminds lurking in the shadows of Luofu roaming freely.
So I just made my own AU of to make myself feel better. Please don’t take this seriously if you’re gonna get affected negatively 🙏

Huaisang knew he should walk away, but Lan Wanji had been acting strangely all day and now the man was telling his brother why. As he listened, though, his eyes grew wide with horror.
Lan Wanji's explanation was slow and would have been opaque had Huaisang not heard the exact same thing only hours before from Wei Wuxian.
Lan Wanji and Wei Wuxian were not together. When they had been found kissing, that had been their first kiss. Lan Wanji had kissed Wei Wuxian because he had heard the rumors of an arranged marriage and had kissed Wei Wuxian out of desperation. He'd thought that if he pretended to like Wei Wuxian, the arranged marriage would be canceled and then Uncle would forbid his relationship with Wei Wuxian, leaving Lan Wanji single as he preferred.
(Wei Wuxian had had different reasons, but similar actions.)
As soon as he'd done, he'd regretted it. However, instead of shoving him off, Wei Wuxian kissed back and it was good. (Lan Wanji did not say much on this matter; Wei Wuxian had been overly eloquent, however). Then, when they'd gotten caught, instead of Wei Wuxian telling the truth, he'd agreed that he and Lan Wanji liked each other.
And though Lan Wanji knew Wei Wuxian was lying, Wei Wuxian's comforting hand in his and his careful glances when the others were not looking made Lan Wanji realize why Wei Wuxian had lied. Wei Wuxian liked him.
(Wei Wuxian had been less certain of Lan Wanji's regard, but he'd assumed a good reason and that Lan Wanji definitely didn't hate him).
When they were alone again, Wei Wuxian had shakily said, "I didn't know you liked me."
And Lan Wanji realized that he could only hurt Wei Wuxian by telling the truth, so he only made an agreeable noise.
(Wei Wuxian had been prepared to apologize and explain before Lan Wanji made that noise, before he began to think and hope that Lan Wanji liked him).
So the charade had continued. Lan Wanji pretended to like Wei Wuxian to avoid both the arranged marriage and hurting Wei Wuxian. He'd still expected Uncle to put an end to everything. Uncle could be the one to hurt Wei Wuxian.
As the two weeks passed, however, he found himself liking Wei Wuxian and wanting to be closer to him. Then, when Uncle didn't react as he'd expected and the families started to discuss an official relationship between Wei Wuxian and Lan Wanji, he'd been happy.
But then he'd overheard Wei Wuxian tell his sister that the relationship wasn't supposed to get that far, that it had all been pretend.
(Wei Wuxian had been afraid and confiding in Jiang Yanli about how much he wanted and feared being married to Lan Wanji and how he'd never expected that. Lan Wanji had missed too much of the conversation).
Heartbroken, Lan Wanji had told his uncle the truth. (This is what Wei Wuxian had heard).
So now Lan Wanji can't marry or be with Wei Wuxian. He can't trap Wei Wuxian into a marriage he doesn't want. Only, when Uncle had announced that, Wei Wuxian had looked so hurt and resigned and Lan Wanji's heart hurt. He didn't know what to do and wanted to go home.
Huaisang threw his gaze up to the ceiling, beseeching the universe. He'd promised no more schemes in exchange for his brother's health and this is what the universe gave him? How was he supposed to not meddle in this? Wei Wuxian was his friend; he couldn't do nothing.
That's when he realized--intervening didn't have to mean scheming.
Huaisang took a deep breath, pushed off the wall, and walked into the room where Lan Wanji and Lan Xichen were speaking. He kept his fan closed at his side so that he would be less tempted to hide, both literally and metaphorically.
"I was eavesdropping," he said when Lan Xichen pasted on his placating smile and Lan Wanji turned away, trying too late hide his red eyes. "It is strange. Kissing someone you don't like, falling in love, and then realizing the other never meant it all along?" He tapped his folded fan to his chin. "That is the second time today I've heard that story. Wei Wuxian is very heartbroken."
Lan Wanji whirled around, his usually expressionless face naked with hope. "Wei Ying," he said, not quite asking a question, not quite trailing off.
Huaisang waited a beat, mourned all the far more elegant ways he could have arranged their reconciliation, and then said, "Loves and wants to marry you. He is very sad that you don't."
"I have to--" Lan Wanji looked at his brother and Lan Xichen nodded toward the door.
"Go."
"He's with his siblings in the garden," Huaisang said as Lan Wanji darted, almost running, to the door. "Be very direct!"
Lan Wanji glanced back, nodded once, and was gone.
"Thank you," Lan Xichen said in his quiet way. "If there's any way I can return this favor, please let me know."
That was when Huaisang realized that what the universe had granted him had not been a test, but an opportunity. "Actually," he said, his grip on his still-folded fan tightening, "I would like to talk with you about my brother."
The Lan had many healing techniques the Nie did not. Perhaps this was how he ensured his brother lived.

Lan Wangji and Jin Zixuan were standing awkwardly by Cloud Recesses's entrance, frowns in their beautiful faces. They were gently forced by their mother and uncle to come here and wait for their betrothal's arrival for the Gusu Lan classes. It was the polite thing to do, and the worst thing they could ever do.
They both hated the fact they were promised to women they barely knew, the teenage experience of falling in love being taken away from them without even questioning.
Laugh could be heard as well as loud talking, making Jin Zixuan scowl and shifting a little to the side so he wouldn't be staring at the people climbing up the steps.
Lan Wangji was too proper for this, so he just blinked and waited patiently.
Soon enough, a small flock of purple robes came out from the mountain curve, a young trio leading the rest of the disciples while talking and laughing. Two girls and one boy, their betrotheds and their younger brother, who's also the heir of their sext, Yunmeng Jiang.
The tallest girl, using darker colors and a bright red ribbon on her hair, threw her head back and laughed loud enough for them to hear clearly, while the smaller, Jiang Yanli, giggles behind her delicate lilac sleeve.
That was Wei Wuxian, his current companion's soon to be headache. Wife. He means wife.
Jin Zixuan scoffed, he never really got along of the girl and her brother, and almost always were running from his own fiance - Jiang Yanli. He turned his head slightly to look at Lan Wangji and say something about Wei Wuxian's lack of manners, and got the shock of his life when the other boy looked stricken, eyes wide and mouth minimally open, his ears in the brightest red.
Looking at where Lan Wangji was staring, he saw Wei Wuxian flipping her hair out of her face when the wind blew. She looked up and realize they were there and, clearly staring at Lan Wangji, she blushed, looking shy.
"No." Jin Zixuan declared.
Lan Wangji blinked and look at him for a quick moment before going back to staring at his fiance who started to walk faster.
"No! I refuse!" then, he turned back and walking (stomped) back to his quarters.
