💘 ZhanChengXian Valentine's Event 💘

Announcing the ZhanChengXian Valentine's Event!! A three day prompt event (we can't call it a weekend, alas) for you to fill up with ZhanChengXian goodness! Romantic, sexual, queerplatonic interpretations are all welcome!

💘 The event will run from 14th February - 16th February.

💘 Any type of fanworks are welcome (fic, art, edits, gifsets, etc.). We just ask that they're creations you have not posted before.

💘 You don't need to incorporate Valentine's Day itself into your creation.

💘 Fanworks must include all three characters (Lan Wangji, Jiang Cheng, Wei Wuxian). They don't all need to be physically present - for example, you can have Lan Wangji and Jiang Cheng thinking about Wei Wuxian while he's dead. We don't want to leave anyone out, so we ask that ZCX all have, to some degree, equal weight in the relationship.

💘 We do not allow any kind of ship bashing, particularly of any combo of ZCX.

You can add your creations to our Ao3 collection. (Early and late entries are fine; we'll reveal the collection on the 14th.) We will also be tracking the tags #zhanchengxianvalentines and #zcxvalentines but you're also welcome to tag us (@zcxevents) to make sure we see it, and submit your creations to the blog.

💫 Announcement: New MDZS/The Untamed Subreddit 💫

I'm excited to announce that I took over as the mod of the r/mdzs subreddit! I plan to make it into an alternative for r/MoDaoZuShi, whose mods aren't active anymore.

About this community This is a community for the danmei novel "Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation". Discussions about the novel and all adaptations, including The Untamed, the donghua, the audio dramas, the manhua, the manga, etc. are all welcome.

I have the following vision for this subreddit:

Give newcomers an easy entry into the MDZS fandom through the subreddit's wiki.

Provide links to fandom events, discords, fanfic references, and more. The MDZS fandom is huge and it's easy to lose track!

Create a safe environment for fans to share and discuss without fear of discourse or harassment.

Create threads where we can recommend and search for MDZS fanfiction. Here is a link to the first Fanfiction Mega Thread.

Weekly or Monthly discussion posts, based on activity and interest.

What makes this subreddit different than the MoDaoZuShi subreddit?

I’m aware that the MoDaoZuShi subreddit exists and I used to be active there. Unfortunately, the moderation team has been inactive for a long time. I applied as a mod and sent a message to the moderators, hoping that I could improve things, but never received a reply, which is why I requested to take over as the moderator of this subreddit. I hope r/mdzs can become a safe alternative for fans of MDZS with an up-to-date wiki page and active moderation.

Please help this subreddit grow by sharing this announcement. I hope to see you in r/mdzs! :)

hello! i was wondering, do you know of any (if there are any) blogs that track mdzs fandom events? i know one of the fic rec blogs does but are there any that are only for tracking events?

Short answer: I don't know!

Longer answer:

Not a tumblr, but there is a MXTX Events Discord run by the illustrious @wrecklwj with an excellent tri-fandom calendar

Over on dreamwidth, the pan-fandom fandomcalendar tracks submitted events, and they've got a tag for the MDZS Universe and another for all MXTX that I personally would love to see more used

As you mentioned, @wangxianficrecs is not an event tracker, but they do boost fandom events

Similarly, if it's a polyshipping MDZS event, you can bet I'll plug it on @polyshipweek

Also not what you asked for, but if you're looking to see more mdzs on your timeline in general, I can recommend: @dmdiaspora @mdzsartreblogs @mdzsnet @mxtxnet

Frost & Snow is back!!! It is a week-long event celebrating The Distant Snow and Cold Frost, Song Zichen! Each day will have a new prompt to inspire you!

The event will run in January, from the 23th Jan 2023 to 29th Jan 2023. This is a Song Lan-centric event, so all creations must feature him.  

Rules

All kinds of creations are accepted (art, fics, cosplay, edits, etc.)

Any SL-centric ship is allowed. We do not tolerate ship hate of any kind.

NSFW/R18+ content is allowed, please tag content, trigger warnings and kinks appropriately and make sure the R18+ part is hidden. Please use a  SFW preview/thumbnail.

Mojo-furen? Since you’re moving on, where do we take our fic recs (Proud Author and other recs not in response to an ask) from here on in?

I don't know, and that makes me so sad. (The offer is still open for someone to come mod here, and set those things up!)

But more likely, what you should do is keep an eye on @wangxianficfinder's posts and just suggest your fic (or the fics you love) for any questions where they would fit, because that actually will get the fic a lot of traffic! Lots of people cruise the Mood For and Fic Finder posts to poke around in a trope that appeals to them at the moment. Authors suggesting their own works are loved and appreciated!

I'm not even sure which rec blogs are still active these days. Does anyone have any suggestions for someone who might like to broadcast Proud Authors and Fic Recs?

ETA: Someone just opened a blog 'specially for MDZS/CQL fic promotion! So @mdzscqlficpromo is where you can go to do your Proud Author announcements. Everyone go follow this blog, so you can keep notified of all the new gems in the fandom.

It's the 1st of June. Can you believe half the year is gone?

Anyways, a new month means we have a new trope for you to experiment with! This time, it is-----

OPPOSITES!

So, what do we mean by opposites? We mean we flip something in the canon story and make it opposite. Want examples? How about-

LanWWX and Jiang disciple LWJ?

GhostKingXL and Heavenly Official HC?

LWJ chases and WWX silently falls in love?

You have free reign. You can flip anything in canon and try to make it make sense. You can even write 'bottomji!' Just try to keep it in character as much as you can because that's the challenging part of this trope!

There are no sign-ups needed for this. We give you a trope to focus on for a month, you write on the trope, we make a masterpost linking all of your fics and add them to our Exploring Tropes Ao3 collection. Tag us on Tumblr/Twitter whenever you publish something based on the trope so that we know what to add to our Masterlist.

All we request is that you follow our blog's theme and keep the characterizations as close to novel canon as possible!

The event is simple-

1. We announce the trope on the first of every month.

2. You create as much or as little content as you like. There is no minimum word count or anything required.

3. There's no need to sign up or even join our Discord for this (though we do encourage you to)

4. You can publish your work anytime during the month but tag us at Pocketful AND add the fic to our collection.

5. If you want to be featured on our Masterpost, please publish your content before 27th of June. It is best if you submit them to our Ao3 collection because it can be difficult to track Tumblr tags and sometimes we can miss things.

6. You can submit your work to our collection at any time, even we move on to the next month's trope. The idea is to have all trope fics in one place.

7. This time we aren't going to make a post of fic recs, only the content written.

I want to see characters being taken care of in an explicit and worshipful way. Home-cooked meals. Hair brushed and braided by gentle hands. Little gifts just because.

I want to read about characters who are not used to kindness being bombarded by acts of service. This trope works romantically and platonically. Give me found family and acts of service - all the ways a character is wrapped up in wordless, explicit care after years of cruelty and having no idea how to handle. I need it.
