the first of my pieces for the MDZS reverse big bang! i'm very excited to read what Zer0Two, my author, has cooked up! and you should be too! in fact i'm gonna go read it RIGHT NOW

you KNOW i had to throw in that book club energy, i made a promise to myself to be wild and include wen chao in every event i join :p

I’m thoroughly excited to be able to share what I’ve been working on for the last few months!

I had a phenomenal time collaborating with the magnificent Magpie during the @mdzsrbb for 2023! We have an illustrated fic to share with you all, featuring two lonely and hurting cultivators taking care of a couple of orphaned children. There's angst, and feelings, and found family. We hope you enjoy!!

The concept was WWX having been raised by BSSR and meeting LWJ. LINK TO FIC

"He pulled the door open smoothly, leaving the noisemaker with their fist still raised mid-knock.  He could glimpse white robes underneath a thick and practical-looking travel cloak, but surely no member of his sect would think to barge in upon him in such a way.

“Hello!” the interloper exclaimed, a bright smile coming into view as he lifted the sopping veils away to one side. “Would you happen to know how to reach the Cloud Recesses?”

Or, a teenage Wei Wuxian arrives at the Lan sect as a (mostly) respected disciple of the Immortal Baoshan Sanren instead of the well-known troublemaker of Yunmeng Jiang. Lan Wangji learns to come to terms with this (eventually)."

This one is not a MDZS-specific Fandom Event, but I want to give it a shout-out as well. Being a fanauthor or a fanartist has been very discouraging recently in part due to the dawn of AI art and writing. Many authors have locked their stories on AO3 or even took them down completely. So, make sure to give the authors in fandom some love and comment on their stories! If you need a little extra encouragement, why not participate in the comment fest 2023 from July, 10th to July, 14th? To quote the organizers: leave as many comments as possible no excuses just results! They are what keeps the authors going and there are some prompts for the different days as well.
