Quick confession
Tumblr media
Requested by anonymous: Hello there! I once sent you a request for Xichen (for the mask reader), so here I am again with a new request for Xichen, because there is never enough Xichen!😁A reader from another clan who has a certain rule - not to reveal her true name unless it's someone she can fully trust. This is a form of safety since most cultivators were persecuted or wanted for various reasons (to be sold, convicted for something they didn't do, etc.), later a clan was formed so that these people could live a normal and safe life. So these cultivators use a alias, a nickname. From the beginning, she was mostly independent and not very social, which gave rise to her nickname - The Loner. She meets Xichen when she comes to Cloud recesses for lessons. Xichen hears the other disciples slandering her, that she's not a cultivator, but a coward, a fugitive, a traitor. They also laughed at her because of her nickname. Xichen was a little sad that she always walked alone and hardly talked to anyone. But once the disciples went so far as to make a very harsh joke of her. She didn't expect it, so she didn't have time to defend herself, because she was thrown to the ground, in which she injured her hand. Seeing this, Xichen sent Wangji to find and punish the disciples while he took care of her injuries. It was such a loving and kind gesture to the reader that she finally revealed her real name to him. And Xichen knew that meant she had full confidence in him. Later they fell in love❤️❤️❤️
Pairing: Lan Xichen x fem!reader
Word Count: 2.0k words
Tumblr media
The Loner, a name that felt so familiar and yet so distant. Xichen was surprised when he finally met the person behind the name, whether it was a chosen one or a given one, and even more when he realized that you were here for the lessons at Cloud Recesses. However, he was not pleased to see you wander alone at any time he saw you. Like right now, as he walked next to his brother while talking about something involving Lan Qiren's lessons, and you were all alone.
You were dressed in your own clan clothing, white underclothes and turquoise dress on top of it with a golden belt that held multiple trinkets along with your sword. Xichen had to admit that you looked ethereal, which was partially thanks to your clear confidence as you walked. While yes, you were all alone, you didn't look unhappy with the loneliness. Rather, you looked relaxed if anything.
The first time he tried to approach you, you didn't talk to him in the slightest. You nodded along to his statements before excusing yourself and walking off, which ended the first interaction between the two of you. The second and third went about the same way, just a bit longer than the previous ones.
This time, Xichen relucted in approaching you. It was clear that you were rather alone, not talking to anyone and choosing to study in lonesome. However, his eyes were still trained on your form as you walked, hands neatly folded in front of you with your head high. It was quite ironic, how you tried to remain invisible and yet had all eyes on you. Only, it was clearly not out of interest like Xichen's gaze and rather something else. Disdain, pity or even hate... It was obvious to you, but you chose to ignore it.
Until the dam breaks and all emotions break lose, but not yours.
Rather, the emotions of a group of seven Lan disciplines were the ones that broke and they chose to take that out on you. Now you weren't unfamiliar with taunting, quite the opposite if anything, and you certainly weren't unfamiliar with the hatred that the Lan disciplines had for you. You were everything they were against, or at least that's why they believed at first glance. A coward, a runaway and traitor. All names were often used to describe you, some more than others, and all were insulting in every way.
Today wasn't any different.
"Loner!" The nickname you grew accustomed to and hated at the same time, yet you responded to it every time as well. With a slight turn of the head to acknowledge the call, the seven disciplines approached you with sneers on their faces. One of them stepped closer, a bit too close for comfort, and pushed your shoulder softly with their hand. You didn't care much for it, rather you chose to ignore the rude gesture and instead focus on the conversation at hand.
"Shouldn't you be running now, coward?" One sneers and you almost wanted to scoff, but didn't get the chance as the next insults rang. They ranged from normal insults to degrading words that you had never heard before. Xichen didn't even need to hear anything that was said, your expression said enough, being one of shock and slight disgust. Inching closer, Xichen could hear the conversation much more clearly.
"Is it true you just left your companions to die? I mean, they all said that you just ran off like a coward." "They were torturing the demon and I wasn't going to wait for his friends to show up and kill us all." You answered, to which you were harshly shoved back.
"Watch it, those are my elders." Another one of the group sneered before shoving you even harder, which ended up in you stumbling down due to your dress. You fell to the ground, softening your landing by stretching your hands behind you and in turn landing on your hands first. A sharp pain shot up your left hand, reaching 'till your elbow before stopping as you lifted your arm again. Now sat on the ground and arm cradled against your chest, the people surrounding you suddenly felt much more threatening. They loomed above you, all grinning menacingly at you, staring at you like you were prey. You felt small, all confidence from before now long gone.
"You don't deserve to be called a cultivator, you and your whole clan of traitors. You run like cowards and hide behind silly names. You're a -" "That's quite enough." Lan Xichen's voice rang out, freezing everybody in the area as they heard the tone of his voice. Xichen was kind and gentle, yet now his voice sounded cold and distant that it was terrifying. The disciplines scrambled together, all coming up with different explanation that would make it seem like they did not just break a million of their own rules. It didn't seem to matter, however, as Xichen gaze moved to you. He crouched beside you, gently helping you up before moving his head towards to his younger brother.
"Take care of their punishment... Make sure the elders also get investigated, because if watch she says is true then they will receive punishment as well." Xichen said and Wangji bows his head before turning to the disciplines while Xichen guides you away. Although you could walk fine, Xichen's arm remained around your waist as he walked you to the doctor to check out your hand. Like expected, your hand was sprained along with a small fracture in your hand. With a simple splint and bandages, you were sent away again with some pain relieving medicines.
"Thank you for your help." You turned to Xichen again, bowing your head to him before softly whispering your name. Xichen didn't hear, however, so you repeated it louder.
"(Y/f/n). That's my name... Please only call me that in private." You bowed your head once more before turning away and walking off awkwardly.
From then on, you were a bit more social than before. You greeted others awkwardly before finding your way to Xichen's side and happily talking to him instead. He is quite surprised to hear the strict rules from your own clan, even more surprised when he learned that him knowing your name was a rather big deal to say the least. Then again, he could not freely use your name when he pleased and thus he opted for nicknames that left you a blushing mess.
The first was simple, just blossom. This was followed by lotus and eventually sunshine, which is where it remained since it had the biggest reaction from you. No matter how many times he called you by that name, it always made your face heat up and render you speechless. You didn't know why, maybe because it was coming from him specifically. He wasn't one that you expected something like that from, he didn't seem like a type to call someone rather flirty names. At least that's how you perceived it, anyway.
Now how you got here, was a bigger mystery. If anyone had told you that you'd be here in Xichen's room later in the evening, then you would've laughed at them before moving on with your life. Yet here you were, awkwardly drinking the tea before you while Xichen just stared. Not an uncomfortable one, as weird as that sounded, and rather a loving one that made your stomach flip and your heart beat just a bit faster.
"May I ask you a question?" Xichen suddenly asked and you looked up from your cup before nodding as you put it down, giving a soft smile. Xichen returned the smile with one of his own before clearing his throat softly.
"Your clan doesn't talk about themselves nor do they often interact with other clans, so why are you here?" "Honest answer or the nice answer?" You asked with a smile and Xichen raised an eyebrow at this before answering with 'an honest answer'. You looked away slightly with a sigh before turning back to Xichen.
"I was bored..." You held back your laughter successfully for a few seconds before bursting into giggles as you looked at your hands again.
"It's stupid, I know~ But I barely having anyone my age to talk to and the elders are... Well, I'm sure you understand." You giggled again before grabbing your teacup again and casually sipping from it while watching Xichen's reaction. For a few seconds, he looked confused before he joined your giggling with his own soft laugh.
"Ridiculous, huh?" "No, no. I understand." Xichen spoke with a shake of his hand, all while trying to hide his smile from you. Unsuccessfully, of course, as you immediatley caught the action.
"You're laughing at me... Really?" You scoffed at him jokingly, to which he only smiled at you once again before filling his cup and yours again. Lifting the cup to his lips, he halted before talking again.
"I hope it's to your liking then." Downing the cup of tea, he stood up from his spot and lifting the tea pot while moving to make another.
"Ah, you don't have to. I should leave anyway... It's improper for me to stay here so late in the evening, people will talk." "Now since when has that bothered you?" Xichen spoke as he lifted the pot up above the fire, filling it with water and herbs before returning to his seat opposite of you.
"One more tea pot can't hurt, the sun hasn't gone down yet either." He continued, sighing softly as you nodded and agreed to his proposal.
"Spending so much time with me, some might say you're in love with me." You joked, quickly stretching your back and legs before looking back at Xichen. He wore a soft and yet surprised smile, which made you freeze for a few seconds.
"What?" "Do people say that? That I'm in love with you?" He asked and your eyes widened before shrugging, sipping your tea. "I mean, some do... I talk to you exclusively and you listen, so." You chuckled awkwardly, but stopped again when his expression changed to an amused expression.
"I did not think my emotions were so clear to everyone, I'll have to work on that." With another chuckle, he moved back to remove the kettle from the fire and letting it cool down. You, on the other hand, were staring at him in shock. How someone could just speak their feelings so easily without any care, saying it like it meant nothing even when it meant so much. Then again, Lan's were prohibited to lie about anything so maybe that was a reason for his bluntness.
"You're in love with me?" You asked, just to be sure that you had heard what he said just right, and Xichen nodded before adding that he wishes to court you as well. Like his first statement wasn't shocking enough, he drops an even bigger one and once again it's like it's just an average statement.
"You are aware that people don't usually say that out loud so easily, right?" "Now since when were we normal? It's no fun that way." He chuckled at you to which you only rolled your eyes at him before filling your cup again.
"I love you, (Y/n). I know it might be early to say something like that, but I can't deny it." He confessed once more, much more softly than before as he took ahold of your hand. You looked at him before laughing softly.
"Well, you're not the only one in love. So lucky you, huh?" You chuckled at him before pulling your hand back, downing your tea before getting up.
"We'll talk about it tomorrow." You softly kissed the crown of his head before walking out of the room with a smile. Xichen stared at his hand, which he held yours in, before laughing softly. At least he'd have enough time to come up with some new sickening love declaration.

DONATE FOR FIC: SEQUEL EDITION!
Hey, so the US is once again having major issues, and donating to organizations that can help is one of the most effective things we can do right now. In exchange for a $10+ donation to one of the linked organizations, I will write you a 400- to 500-word fic. If this sounds good to you, read on!
Several other authors are doing similar drives; you can find a list here.
Eligible Charities:
Planned Parenthood:
National Black Women’s Reproductive Justice Agenda
The Center for Reproductive Rights
RAINN
National Network of Abortion Funds
 About Commissions:
I will only have 6 slots available bc I’ve got chronic health issues, a full-time job, and other commitments. If you would like a commission, please send your donation receipt and request to ninthfeathers (at) gmail (dot) com. You can also submit the donation receipt and request by Discord if you already have my contact information there. Please do not use Tumblr Messenger or my ask box, that’s an easy way for info to get lost.
Your prompt can be as specific or vague as you would like, but I reserve the right to refuse a prompt or to tell you I will not be comfortable with a prompt unless it is altered.
All fics will be posted on Tumblr and to my “Oh Valley of Plenty” collection on AO3. If you would like them posted elsewhere (Dreamwidth or Pillowfort), please let me know.
 Other Notes:
Crossovers and AUs are fine
I do not write actor RPF
No reader-insert/POV/imagine fics
You can request sequel fics or fics set in the same ‘verse as works I’ve already done, but the prompt cannot be “add 400-500 words to (existing incomplete fic).”
I will not fill prompts in a way that would warrant an M or E rating on AO3. If it is impossible to fill the prompt with a G- or T-rated fic, I will reject the prompt.
Pairings are all right but please don’t ask me to write a pairing you know I actively dislike. Neither of us will be satisfied with the resulting fic.
I’m busy and in poor health so these things might take a while to get finished
Every person who’s offering something in exchange for donation receipts is holding donors to the honor system. I’m trusting you not to use receipts that you’ve already submitted to someone else to get a fic from me. Please remember that the end goal here is raising as much money as possible.

Hi could you do how the juniors reacted if you died? Also love your writing💕
hey there; such a cute emoji, but such a sad request (。•́︿•̀。)
aha thank you so much, i’ve put a little spin on your request, but i hope that you still enjoy it anyways ; happy reading everyone!
here’s to your request~
.・゜-: ✧ :- -: ✧ :-゜・.
Lan Sizhui .。.:*☆
“...if you died?” Sizhui repeats, confusedly
“yes, what would you do if i died?”
Sizhui would probably be slightly worried and also a little scared that you asked such a question
but like, it was unavoidable considering that was always a risk on night hunts
he wouldn’t like to think about it usually,
but since you bought it up
“i...don’t know...”
Sizhui has never had a hard time with words before
but just the thought of anything like that happening to you...
it makes anxiousness and fear curl in his chest in ways he’d never felt before
you notice the change in his expression right away,
“hey hey, i’m just asking to ask. i’m alright; i’m not easy to kill,” you reassure, placing a hand on his arm
your grip is tight there, a reminder that you’re right here with him
Sizhui looks over at you, takes your hand on his arm and interlocks your fingers with his
“i wouldn’t let you die, not when you’re with me,” Sizhui tells you, a promise for future night hunts, and possibly for the rest of your life
you smile at him,
“i know you wouldn’t,” you reply to him
and the look in Sizhui’s eyes, shows you that you trust your life with the right person
Lan Jingyi .。.:*☆
“so if you died? hmm...well i’d probably live to the best to my abilities now right? since you wouldn’t be there to nag me all the time” Jingyi begins,
you gape at him,
“and then since the cultivation partner spot is open again, i’ll be back on the market, as hot as ever, you know?” Jingyi teases and you rip your hand out from his loose grip as you’re walking around the forest path with him
“you’re such a bastard,”
you know that he’s teasing but he’d said enough to rile you up and you stomp away, ahead of him on the path to the meeting place
“ahh, wait wait, y/n-ah, c’mon now, i didn’t mean it! how could i possibly go on without you!” Jingyi calls to you as he runs to catch up
you roll your eyes at him as he easily gets to your side again, throwing an arm around your shoulder to pull you close as you continue to walk
“you’re the sun that i circle around, the moon i gravitate to, my entire starry night-”
“save it,” you cut in, though you still let him keep his arm around you
Jingyi pouts at the fact that you’re still mildly peeved
after a few steps in silence, Jingyi figures out a way to make you not mad anymore
he leans close to your face, pressing a gentle kiss on your cheek
you turn to him immediately, eyes widen and mouth opening to retort him
but-
“i love you,” he says,
and you’re glad that you know those are the most honest words he’s said tonight
Jin Ling .。.:*☆
“this is hypothetical, right?”
“of course it is!” you shout at him, and he just shakes his head at the exasperated face that you make at him
“you’d think i’d be a bit more serious if i was actually dying,” you tell him, turning away to steal a sip from your jug of liquor
Jin Ling would definitely ponder what he would do
ever since you began going on night hunts and other things with him, he doesn’t even remember the things that he did before you were around
and it dawns on him, in the middle of his drink, that he definitely wouldn’t be able to live without you
Jin Ling takes a long sip
and since he hasn’t answered your question yet, you knock a bit of his jug while he’s still drinking
it makes him choke a bit, drops of clear wine spilling down the side of his face and his neck
you laugh at him, talking again
“you’d probably cry right? i know you would,” you answer for him and Jin Ling splutters at you
“what are you even talking about?!”
“don’t lie to me, you’d miss me so damn much!”
“no i won’t! good riddance!”
“oh please, you’d be like ‘oooh, noo y/n, please don’t leave meeee” you imitate his voice and laugh at him as he continues to yell
and obviously he would react like that
but doesn’t mean he has to let you know
Jin Ling hides his expression with another long drink again
and your laugh fills up the entire night
Ouyang Zizhen.。.:*☆
“i’d probably go with you”
you had asked Zizhen what he would do if you died, and he answered it like you were inviting him to go to the festival at caiyi town
“Zizhen! that’s not a good answer”
“but it’s the truth,”
you turn to look at him where he’s sat next to you around the darkened fire
the rest of the cultivators that you had went with were asleep now, the night hunt having finished a few hours ago
and it’s late
so you blame his dumb answer and logic on his lack of sleep
“you’re lying,” you tell him, huffing out a small laugh
“besides, i’m not anyone worth dying for,”
you’re poking at the dying fire with a nice stick as you’re talking
which is why you’re more than surprised when Zizhen rips your new toy out of your hand and throws it
“hey!” you tell him, turning to him in surprise
but the expression on his face is not the jokester look that you’d expected
Zizhen locks eyes with you
“in life and in death, you have me. i’d go anywhere with you,” Zizhen says
and it renders you a bit speechless
because
what were you supposed to say to that???
Zizhen probably realizes what he said after a few quiet seconds
so he turns back to the pit, watching the embers disappear
your eyes stay on his profile
and the night is quiet for another moment before he speaks up again,
“you’re stuck with me, alright?” he turns back to your face for a second, and you catch a glimpse of a small smile
and you let out a small puff of air
“alright, you’re stuck with me too”

Lan Wangji x gn reader
@kdrama-i-nation request
Tumblr media
It was a test day for disciples at Gusu. Lan Xichen was individually evaluating his students flute playing skills . It was a huge relief for you when Lan Xichen commented your skills were in a good state excluding few mistakes, after you were nervously playing a tune he had taught in front of him. He was explaning what could be done to fix those missing points but then Lan Wangji entered.
He stood near the door until his brother gave permission.
“Wangji, come in “
Lan Wangji walked in put a book on a table and turned away .
“Wangji, are you going out?” Zewu-Jun asked
“ Mn”
“ Do you have someone to go with you?”
“ No” Lan Wangji bowed and left.
Lan Xichen sighed. You wanted to ask him if his brother does not have any friend at all but you were too shy and you didn’t . However, Lan Xichen noticed a little sadness in your eyes.
“Y/N is something not right?”
“No….. Is he…. always alone?” yes, you did it. Finally mumbled it.
“My brother? Yes” Zewu-Jun smiled bitterly.
Next day, one of Lan Wangji’s least favorites happened. Lan Xichen assigned group work and put everyone into groups of four. It was a quite surprise that you were selected to Lan Wangji’s team. Exactly, you loved to be on your secret crush’s team but never expected it would ever happen. Each group had to bind some single manuscripts into a book.
Lan Wangji disapproved noisy teammates except you. He had never noticed you until then. He appreciated your quietness. However, you were silent because you were nervous. Lan Wangji did most part of the work while two loud disciples were chatting. Eventually, you wanted to draw a nice pattern on the cover. You had one day seen Lan Wangji was looking at rabbit lanterns dearly and thought he would love rabbits
BUT when you were drawing rabbits on the cover other teammates laughed.
“Seriously, rabbits?” they chuckled.
You looked at Lan Wangji. However, he was paying attention to your work and seemed pleased. He frowned at those two who were laughing and they immediately shut their mouths. The work was submitted soon and group was dismissed. You felt so sad thinking it could be the only moment you spent close to Lan Wangji until you found it was wrong. Ever since you were in his group, he shared couple of words with you here and there. It was not much but you were so glad.
Another day at Lan Qiren’s class he had to pair up students for night hunt. He asked two more students who they wanted to paired up with before it was Lan Wangji’s turn. Lan Qiren asked Lan Wangji to choose a partner but he did not expect more than an answer from his nephew like “anyone is fine” or “I have no one on my mind”,
Lan Wangji stood up and unwillingly looked around while you were wishing him to pick you but will he? He would never pick you because you were nobody to him. However, he pointed you. You startled. Were you dreaming? Could he be showing someone behind you? You turned back. Students; especially females were frowning you. You were still doubtful if it was you he wanted as the partner.
“Y/N” Lan Wangji said feeling your tension.
Yes, that was your name, so it was really you. However, this was just a beginning. During the night hunt, Lan Wangji and you got to know each other better. After that Lan Xichen could easily detect how his cold brother enjoys your company and he and Lan Qiren both thought new connections would be helpful to Lan Wangji to forget past sorrows. You became Lan Wangji’s companion until one day when you two were sitting with Lan Wangji under a tree, Su She passed by saying “Lovers” insultingly.
Your eyes widened and Lan Wangji sent a death glance at Su She before he walked away but then turned to you and asked “ What if it’s true? “
“Huh” you gasped but Lan Wangji smiled. Yes, he smiled and crashed his lips against you instantly.
Pulling off slowly “Shall we do it again?” Lan Wangji asked all the time staring at you.
You felt like you were floating in midair and looked down as you were blushing. Finally, you mumbled “ yes” and Lan Wangi pulled you to him and kissed you. When you had no idea about this, Lan Wangji had been waited for this moment since months, and toady was the day he had actually made his dream come true.

Mdzs(your choice) reaction to reader getting hurt because of them while arguing
Ah, violence… Why do I feel so excited? But I will insert myself here as your friend and the one who will restrain them if that’s alright. ( featuring mistress Jin )
Anyways! Here’s to your request!
Jin Ling :
Honestly, you forgot how the fight even started. Now your screams can be heard from the hallways! The servants were shivering in fear when Jin Ling raised his voice at you, the way he bad-mouths you infront of the staff. “You can’t do anything right!” He says and slaps you while they all stare at you. You fell to the ground, cheek swollen, and your friend in rage.. “Jin Ling!” Xiaoyue ( aka me ) shouts from the other end of the room “You’ve gone to far! Take a look at what you’ve done to them!” She yelled, helping you get up. Usually fights like this never happen, but when it did.. Hoo boy, get ready! Because most of the time he will use violence if he is extremely mad at you.
( although tries to resist the urge he can’t help but release his anger on something )
“Xiaoyue, you are not involved here! So get away from them!” He yells back and unsheathes his sword, pointing it at her. He never did such an action! His eyes filled with anger and rage, glaring at you. “If you’re going to keep acting so violent, who’s going to be here fixing most of the misunderstandings?” She answers and you were just there, crying quietly. “Please stop.” You say looking at Jin Ling pitifully, the servants around you felt sympathy for you and more people enter the room. “Jin Ling!” Wei Wuxian calls out his nephew’s name “Stop this instant!” He and Jiang Cheng both shout at the man while you try and Xiaoyue try to stop Jin Ling from doing harm. “It’s their fault!” Jin Ling points at you “It’s their fault! Why are you shouting at me?!” He keeps ranting and tears fall out his eyes, Xiaoyue tries to restrain him but he keeps wriggling out of her grasp and he storms out the room. The doors fling open and the servants rush to you “Young master/lady, are you alright?” They ask but you don’t answer. You didn’t want to talk right now.. And you just sat there, on the floor, crying when everyone around you is trying to comfort you. Still you think that Jin Ling needs it more than you do, you run outside and see Jin Ling crying on the stairs of Jin Lin Tai. “I’m sorry..” He says looking the other way when you sat beside him. “It’s alright..” You say to him and he hugs you while you comfort through the night.

Small stuff like short prompt requests and stuff are great to keep me creative while larger projects lag due to lack of time lol. I am new to the whole "reader x *insert fandom*" stuff so please be patient with my stuff. It's not my particular cup of tea, but I think branching out is always a good idea, so unless the request is super icky for me, i probably won't deny it lol.

However I must warn you, if you request a F/F or M/M, there will be a chance you won’t be satisfied, because I myself am straight, but that doesn’t mean I won’t write them, I’m just warning you that they might not be as good as you expect
What I won’t write:
Honestly, I guess I’m pretty open-minded, and okay with most
but that doesn’t mean I don’t have things I won’t write!
That being said, I won’t write:
Smut/NSFW, because I’m just uncomfortable with it
Combat (because I’m just not very good, and I don’t think I’ll be able to write any sort of combat that people will be satisfied with. Just small fights are okay, but major combat is a big no no for my writing style)
Graphic Gore (a little bleeding here and there never hurt anyone, but I just can’t write graphic gore. I will start to feel nauseous)
Cheating (I just can’t stand infidelity)
Scenarios with real life people (Just makes me uncomfortable)
Guide:
I’ll accept up to 5 people for Headcannons
I’ll accept up to 4 people for Scenarios
for scenarios, I might write more than 4 people, but that’s because I can fit minor characters. The 4 people you specify will be more major roles, and it’s hard for me to do many main characters
I will default to gender neutral for reader inserts, unless you are specific about it
Important Reminders!
If a request makes me feel uncomfortable, I will not do it
If you have a particular scenario in mind, please be specific. If you don’t provide enough details, my imagination will have to make up for it. That being said, if you just want a specific pairing and is okay with anything I will potentially come up with, feel free to be as vague as you want!
I can’t write for things I’m not interested in-so if your request doesn’t catch my interest, I will decline it. My sincere apologies.
If I can’t think of anything to write for your request within a month, I will decline
And if you think I’m a scary and rude person after this, I can promise you, I’m genuinely not! I just come across as blunt at times, especially when it comes to things I will and won’t do. So if you have a request, and you followed the guidelines, go ahead and ask! There’s a high chance I will write it.
Who and What I’ll write for
at the moment, I will only write for MDZS/CQL(Please specify which you want. The book and the show have different time lines). I will keep you updated on what else I’ll write for in the future
that being said, I will write for any mdzs characters, but here is a list of characters I may have an eensie bit of trouble with
Nie Mingjue
Song Lan
Nie Huaisang
Jin Guangyao
Lan Xichen
Ouyang Zizhen
That doesn’t mean I won’t write for them, it just means I may have trouble, so if you request any of these characters, just be a teensie bit more specific in details
What I’ll need for requests:
Characters (mandatory)
What you want (e.g. Scenario, Headcannon, Reader Insert, etc.) (mandatory)
Genre (is it romantic, or just friends? angst or fluff?)(Mandatory)
For reader inserts, I’ll need details (F/F, M/M, or F/M?)(Optional)
Scenario(e.g. is it modern AU, is it a date, is it an argument, is it just two friends having a friendly but not so friendly argument, etc.)(Optional)
Thanks if you provide the optional, it’ll help me more, but if you didn’t that’s fine. I’ll just use my imagination
And that’s it for this post! This is what you should refer to for requests.
Sincerely,
mdzs-butterfly

Requested by anonymous: Hello! How are you? Your writing is divine, just...wow, speechless! Can I request a oneshot for LXC? The reader is a cultivator from a completely different country, she has different customs, different fighting style, different weapons, different magic... she traveled all the clans, Nie, Jiang, Jin and even Lan, in every clan everyone liked her even though she had different customs, she was kind and accommodating to everyone, forming strong friendships with JGY and NHS. Then she runs into LXC during one of the walks, literally slamming into him when she wasn't paying attention to where she was going. Of course, LXC didn't get mad, he made sure the reader was okay and went on his way. JGY sees all this and then teases the reader when he saw her blush😂 NHS then becomes something of a messenger as he passes letters from LXC and the reader to the other one 😂I don't know, somehow the request came to me, I hope it's cool, I don't ask for requests too much😄 take care and thank you!👋
Pairing: Lan Xichen x fem!foreigner!reader

You never really expected to find another country, you honestly just wanted to leave your home for awhile. You had set sail on the shores of your home country and now you found yourself on the shore of another. Your boat was wrecked and you went under, only to wash ashore later on while trying to not inhale the salty water. The sun shine down from it's spot up in the sky, making the sand beneath your hands burning hot and the air around you dry. You could practically feel the taunt from the sun as it challenged you, but you could care less. Your weapons felt heavy, the spear on you back was pulling you down back into the water due to it's weight and the twin daggers didn't help you out much either. Your bag was floating somewhere in the water and you didn't even want to think about where all your food went, probably already taken by the sea like your ship.
But even while nearly drowning, you were painfully aware of the eyes on you. Two curious eyes that made you wonder why they were not even in view.
Then you spotted it, a child staring straight at you with big eyes full of curiosity, almost sparkling as they spotted you. The kid wasn't tall, slightly on the thinner side if you'd compare with the children from your country, and you guessed that he'd been an early teenager. He was hidden behind a tree, eyes barely visible as he tried his best to stay hidden. The man behind him, you assumed it was an adult anyway, didn't share that thought as he casually strolled forward out of the woods. He seemed surprised by you and you were just as surprised, he looked quite different from you or anyone you had ever seen before today. He was a bit paler than you, silky black hair and thinner slanted eyes. The grey robes he wore were also unique looking to you, looking nothing like your clothes in the slightest. He spoke, the language unfamiliar to you and not even sounding like anything at first. You held up your hand for him to pause, getting up before focusing your energy to him. He spoke again and this time you understood him fine, thanks to some quick spell.
"Are you alright?" He repeated his question again as he held out one of his hands, which you quickly took with a thanks as you focused your spell to make him understand your words.
"Fine, fine... Could be worse." "Worse than drowning?" He asked and you opened your mouth to retort his statement, but closed your mouth again when you realized he was right. Not much worse than almost dying...
"May I ask who you are?" "Right! The name's (Y/n), pleasure to meet you!" You smiled brightly as you held out your hand to shake, surprised as he just bowed his head while revealing himself to be Meng Yao. The boy from behind the trees had also decided to join you, standing behind Meng Yao while sending you a bright and yet shy smile and introducing himself as Nie Huaisang. The conversation quickly moved on to your place of origin and how toy actually got here, which was then followed by Huaisang offering you a place to stay. You could hardly ignore the kid or his request, so you agreed.
Thus you found yourself on the grounds of the Qinghe Nie clan, meeting Nie Mingjue and being absolutely terrified of the man as he reluctantly agreed to let you stay thanks to Huaisang's pleading look. He reminded you much of your little brother, a cute boy who knew how to get what he wants. Although difficult, you tried to adapt as much as possible to their culture. Huaisang was quick to guide you through everything, starting with giving you a hanfu to wear. It was beautiful, a soft material used instead of the rough fabrics that you were more used to, and details were so difficult to catch that you could spend hours just looking. Then he and Meng Yao taught you some of their customs before explaining that every clan had different ones. It took you a couple of weeks to get the basics of the Nie clan before you set off to the next.
First the Lanling Jin clan, where some disciplines were kind enough to tell you a bit before you set of again thanks to the arrogant teenager(s) that kept mocking you. The second clan you went to was the Yunmeng Jiang clan, where you were taught by the daughter of the head of the clan. Jiang Yanli was the sweetest, never getting annoyed or angry as she taught you everything you needed or wanted to know. Wuxian, her adoptive brother, was even more excited to teach you things (pranks mostly) and he was always present when Yanli taught you. You only saw Jiang Cheng a few times, but you could tell that he was a nice person as well, just not visibly showing it to others. You stayed with them for 3 months, then you moved again to the final clan.
Gusu Lan, one know for it's strictness and their many rules to follow. You didn't really know what to expect from them, so having the kids from Yunmeng and from Qinghe join you for a sort of school was kind of exciting. You were just glad that you were allowed to join them, Meng Yao had sent you a letter saying that he got permission to take you as a Nie representative.
You actually enjoyed the trip up the mountain, unlike the others, as the view as astounding to see and the fresh air instantly woke you up from your drowsiness. Once past the gate, you could only marvel at the structures that were build in between the mountain. Of course you loved all the other clan buildings, but this one had a massive library that you just couldn't ignore. You just wanted to find out what kind of information the books in there had, what kind of knowledge you could possible gain you. Then you were inside, greeted by a man that you could only stare at. All the previous people you had met were attractive, both men and women, but this man was different. Maybe it was because of the confidence that he had or maybe just something else, but he looked dazzling. You almost thought you reached the heavens, the white and blue robes didn't make that thought any better. You also noticed the ribbon weaved through his hair to rest on his forehead, a cloud symbol laying between his eyebrows. It looked intricate and you wondered if you could take a closer look at it in some period of time later on.
You joined Yanli and some other girls to a dorm, settling in quickly after a short introduction. The robes on your bed were soft, feeling almost as soft as the clouds that were painted on the bottom of the robe and you were almost afraid of how quickly you would dirty the white and light blue colors.
A woman entered not much later after you got dresses, her robes a darker blue than you had seen others wear, and she asked everyone to follow her before pausing on you. You expected a mocking comment or something along those lines, the girls from Lanling hadn't been to quiet with their insults, but she just walked closer to you and pulled your belt up a bit before pulling your robes a bit down to make it lay flatter than it had before. You thanked her, bowing your head before following her out like everyone else. You entered a lecture hall, the men were all present already and you quickly joined Huaisang and Meng Yao before looking around. Two men entered, one an elder man that you assumed was the head of the clan when you saw his clothes and the other was the angelic man from the front gate. He was smiling slightly this time, mostly aimed at a younger boy in the front that looked very similar to him. The elder man spoke first, but you hadn't expected him to start rules. At first, you were carefully listening to his words but that changed around the 30th rule or so.
"How many more do we have to listen to?" "There are 3,000 rules in total, all of them are equally important. I do admit their wording could be shorter." You flinched as someone actually answered your question, turning your head slightly to see the angelic man. After blinking a few times, you nodded to acknowledge his words before turning to face the front again. Huaisang, who had heard of the number of rules, was already laying face down on the table and you couldn't help but do the same. It was only at the 580th rule that you shut off your brain, letting go of the translation spell that made you understand the elder and instead trying to push back your growing headache. It was like someone was pushing your head together at the temples, knives pushing into your skull and turning around once inside. It was painful, so much so that you just wanted to lay down and sleep right in this room. You couldn't, obviously, but you opted to just close your eyes instead in hopes that it would lessen slightly by doing so. So you closed your eyes, hoping that you would be left alone as the elder still listed the rules, you assumed he was anyway.
When you opened your eyes again, because of course you had fallen asleep, everyone else was getting ready to leave. You just followed, you didn't want to stay longer at the moment. Your headache, although lessened, was still killing you and you had some medicine in your bag that could help. You didn't wait for anyone, you just want to the dorm and shoved the medicine down with some water. Then you laid down to sleep, quickly moving on to the dream world.
Tumblr media
Although it was early in the morning, you were wide awake and bringing with energy. You were the only person, beside the Lan disciplines, that seemed happy to be out for a walk. You didn't know why Huaisang looked so glum, the sights were beautiful and the cold breeze could easily wake up anyone from their slumber. Nonetheless, you talked him through the walk as you walked, a happy skip in your step and a big smile on your face. Your eyes weren't really focused on the road ahead of you, they remained on Huaisang during your conversation. Unfortunately, that also meant that you didn't see that everyone else had stopped. The result? You were abruptly stopped when you slammed into someone's chest, stumbling backwards until the person caught you. You looked up and we're surprised to see Lan Xichen before you, giving you a smile like you hadn't just bumped him.
"Are you alright?" He let go of your waist and you straightened your robes out before nodding at him, trying to ignore the way that your heart skipped a beat and how your face heated up.
"Please be mindful of your surroundings." He said before turning around and walking away, leaving you standing in the same spot with a look of surprise. Yet you couldn't help but smile a bit.
"You're so in love with him." Meng Yao speaks loud enough for anyone to hear as he passes by you, smirking at you before speeding up a bit as you kicked your leg at him. This action earned a disapproving look from Lan Qiren while Xichen just chuckled softly, which made your face heat up even more. Luckily, the rest of the walk was without you slamming into someone else again. However, you also noticed that Xichen lingered near you as you walked, almost like he was ready to catch you if you tripped again or something along those lines. Not that he made that clear, he just walked beside you at a decent distance, which only made Meng Yao raise his eyebrows at you suggestively once more. You ignored him without hesitation, instead focusing on the road and those interesting pebbles on the ground.
Tumblr media
You didn't know how you ended up in this situation, sitting across Xichen while drinking tea and talking. But you also didn't really care about how you got here, you were too busy trying to keep your face neutral enough and not to just smile like an idiot. Xichen was explaining some stuff about the clan, the reasons for their colors and how their rules came into place, but you could only stare at him. More specifically at the cloud symbol on his forehead, which he hadn't noticed and if he had, he was kind enough to not point it out.
"Why do you wear that?" You blurted out in the middle of his sentence, realizing how rude this probably was and quickly apologizing after. Xichen paid no mind to this and kindly started to explain instead.
"It is a metaphor, it shows that we restrain ourselves." The explanation was simple, you were sure that he oversimplified the actual meaning, and Xichen was also quick to add that it wasn't something that just anyone could touch.
"Only close family members are allowed to touch the headbands. When we marry, our wife and future kids are also allowed." Xichen says and you felt a wave of disappointment wash over you, unsure of the reason for those feelings. The conversation moved on to other subjects, but somehow the thought of marrying Xichen had entered your mind and it wouldn't leave. You could only try to hide the slight blush on your face until you could excuse yourself to go to your class.
You never went to that class. and the thoughts of marrying Xichen turned into hopeful dreams that revealed your true feelings of the man.
Tumblr media
The first letter you sent to Xichen was after your leave of the Gusu Lan clan. You added it to your letter to Huaisang, the paper folded neatly with Xichen's name on it. Xichen answered not much later, his response folded into the letter that Huaisang send you back. You didn't miss Huaisang's teasing in his own letter, you had no doubt that the boy had peaked into your letter. However, you first focused on Xichen's letter, because the man had called you his dear friend and you took a few minutes to just process that.
A dear friend was a start, maybe someday it say dear lover.
The second conversation was started by Xichen, asking you where you were traveling this time. You answered him, sticking in a small note of thanks to Huaisang that he helped you deliver the letters to Xichen. You received no you're welcome back, but you did get another letter. One that only made your heart ache as Xichen spoke of marriage, but he was to be clan leader after all and neither of you were still really young. But still with all that, you wished that he would chose you and not some clan's daughter that was chosen for him. Luckily, he didn't seem to mention his future marriage in any way, so you didn't see need to worry yet. Even though you were glad, you couldn't help yourself from asking if he had plans to marry. The letter was sent before you could actually control your actions, embarrassment entering much later and when it was too late to get the letter back.
You waited for two weeks for any kind of response from Xichen, but you got a very good response. You got Xichen in front of you, his angelic smile aimed to you and a letter in his hand. You took it with confusion, reading it's contents carefully.
Right at the bottom, written in the neatest letters stood a sentence that made your heart stop.
'I hope that we might marry someday.'
You were ready to faint at this point, not being able to control your magic as you made the letter go up in flames thanks to the sparks from your fingers. You only stared at the ashes before apologizing to Xichen, but he was just smiling at you like it was nothing. Then again, you had explained your powers to him or at least to some extent.
"I presume that to be a yes?" He asked and you nodded slowly, not really knowing what you were supposed to say to his proposal. You'd figure it out later, however, because you just wanted to hug him right now. So you did, embracing him and toying with the back of his belt as he threw his arms around your shoulders.
"How'd you know?" You dare to ask him, looking up to him with curious eyes as you awaited his answer.
"You often think out loud." Cue your face heating up as you hid your face in his chest, only making the man chuckle softly while parting your head.
You received one more letter later on from Huaisang, asking if the proposal went well. You burned that one as well.

"Stolen" Lover
Tumblr media
Requested by anonymous: Hello! I'm glad you're back to writing after a break due to a hand problem. Welcome back! Otherwise, I'll leave a request for Xiao Xingchen - The reader (female reader) hears the conversation of her parents/uncle/any other relative that they want to sell the reader as a prostitute (either for Guangshan or another person) because they are on the verge of poverty and the reader because of her beauty can be sold for a good price. So the reader runs away at night. But the reader's relatives are watching her, so they capture her and want to take her back home so they can sell her the next day. Xiao Xingchen and Song Lan heard the reader screaming for help. When the reader is freed, the reader is still skeptical of the two men, thinking that they want to take the reward for selling her instead of her relatives. Both men assure her that they definitely don't plan to. The reader then travels with them and something much more than friendship happens between her and Xingchen.
Pairing: Xiao Xingchen x fem!reader
Word Count: 2.7k words
Warnings: harassment, toxic family
Tumblr media
Xingchen didn't often join in social activities, preferring to stay in his comfort zone and mostly alone, Song Lang was the only exception to this rule. Today, for the first time in a long while, he had decided to show his face at a gathering for once. Trust it when he says that he immediately regretted that choice, not even seconds after entering the pavilion.
The Lanling Jin clan was already fully drunk, Xingchen never really got along with Lan's to begin with and the Yunmeng clan were closed off to their own members. It was almost painful at how many clicks had formed and how Xingchen, like usual, did not fit into any of them. So he stood in the corner of the courtyard, listening to the conversations. The one that caught his attention the most was from his right, Jin Guangshan, who was loudly talking and laughing. In front of him stood a woman and her family, presumably her parents. She looked widely uncomfortable, her form visually shaking as Guangshan put a hand on her shoulder before raising his hand to cradle her face, where she physically recoiled from the touch. His eyes remained on the woman as her parents pushed her closer to the Lanling leader, who once again took her face into his hand and inspecting her. When released from the man's grip, she bowed her head before racing off. Although to most she would look fairly composed, Xingchen was able to see the fear beneath the façade. Her parents looked on as the woman left before continuing their conversation with Guangshan, not even caring enough to check on their daughter. Not wanting to meddle with others affairs, Xingchen turned his attention away and continued on with his eavesdropping of others conversations.
Soon, the sun set and the moon took its place high up in the sky, settling in between the thousand of stars. The part had started settling down, most clans retracting to their rooms or even just leave back to their own homes. Xingchen followed the masses, leaving the pavilion with plenty of food still stuffed in his pockets. He'd need it for his journey, that's what he told himself. Besides, otherwise it would all be thrown out anyway and he hardly thought that was necessary. As he parted from the groups before and behind him, making his way to a cheap inn that none of the "high-class" people would want to stay at. Entering his room, he was greeted by Song Lan laying on the bed. A small grey ball was bouncing up and down against the ceiling with a bored look before pausing, holding the ball still while turning his head to look at Xingchen. Seeing the exhausted look on his face, Song Lan scoffed with a smile.
"Looks like you had fun." The tone was meant to be mocking, but the smile on Song Lan's said enough for Xingchen to know that it wasn't meant maliciously. Instead, he sat in his own bed and laid down after removing his shoes. He ignored the banging of the ball against the ceiling and instead tried to sleep. He had a feeling that the next day would be busy.
Tumblr media
Like he had imagined, it was busy. A festival started, right on the day that they were leaving. Streets covered with masses of families, lovers and friend groups. It was loud and busy, everything that Xingchen despised. Nonetheless, they pushed through everyone with soft apologies spilling from their lips when they were met with glares. The were stopped, however, by a large crowd that had filled the area. They blocked the path effectively, Xingchen and Song Lan barely were able to push through. When they did, they were met with a very odd sight. In the middle of the ground laid someone, cowering from a group that loomed above them. Upon closer inspection, the person on the ground was a woman. More specifically, the woman that Xingchen had seen yesterday, the one who was supposedly marrying Guangshan. Her family, he guessed it was her family, were clearly mad at her as the pulled her up against her wishes. She tried to tug herself away from the grip that her father had on her, but to no avail. Xingchen didn't know what came over him, like a spell that enchanted him to help her. So he set off, marching her way and ripping her from the elder's grip and placing her behind him. Xingchen didn't know why he was doing this, he didn't like to be noticed. He especially didn't like to be noticed in a way that would be dangerous for him, which was this situation. Not only was he pissing off the family of the poor woman behind him, but he was probably pissing off Guangshan by stealing his wife as well. Yet here he stood, not wavering in the slightest as his arm blocked her from view.
The man in front of him was ready to start talking, hand grasping to get ahold of his daughter once more, but Xingchen walked backwards before drawing his sword. The tip was inches away from the man, a yelp from his family and gasps from the crowd. Song Lan, who finally wormed his way through the crowd, jumped out and settled between the two parties and sighed loudly. The blade from Xingchen rested against his chin, but Song Lan didn't move it and instead turned his head.
"Why don't you explain why you're hurting the lady?" Song Lan spoke and the man saw red, cursing and yelling out at the two strangers and his daughter. So Xingchen did whatever seemed more logical. He took ahold of the woman behind him before shedding his sword and grabbing Song Lan. Then he ran off, pushing through the crowd with both of them behind him.
"They were going to sell me!" The woman was quick to yell as they came to stop near the edge of town, doubling over as she tried to catch her breath.
"You're not going to, right?" Taking a step back, she looked at them with a worried gaze.
"How much would you cost?" Song Lan whispered, receiving a short jab in the ribs from Xingchen while the woman just laughed uncomfortably. "We're poor, so you're lucky if you got a hundred coins." She laughed back to which Song Lan shrugged, claiming that it wouldn't be enough for the trouble and that it was better to just keep her. This earned him a more genuine laugh before she relaxed more, standing straight before raising her arms high and bowing.
"(Y/f/n), pleasure to make your acquaintance. Even under these circumstances." She, (y/n), gave them a bright smile, which made both men awkwardly greet her back.
"Now... Do either of you have a spare robe, because these underrobes are quite chilly." She grinned softly, clearly a bit uncomfortable as she wrapped her arms around herself. Song Lan shook his head, he never had a spare robe unlike Xingchen. Xingchen pulled out a robe from his bag, handing it to her and watching her put it on. Somehow, his face started heating up as he watched the robe engulf her form. The arms were way too long, the underside of the robe hitting the floor since it was way too long as well. He had no clue as to why he reacted the way he did, he only knew that it annoyed him greatly.
He was definitely not prepared to have you joining him and Song Lan on their trips. Yet he'd have to get used to it now.
Tumblr media
"Come on!" You called as you dragged both of the men behind you forward, the two behind you were not happy by it in the slightest. Both were practically whining at this point, Song Lan more than Xingchen, and you turned around to face them before crossing your arms.
"Look, I feel like sleeping in a bed soon and not in the forest. So, let's get this job started and earn something to do that, huh?" "You can sleep in a inn, just not all three of us." Song Lan commented and you scoffed, shaking your head at him.
"I'm not sleeping alone, don't feel like being kidnapped." You stuck out your tongue, turning around before flinching when you noticed a poster on the doors of the town. One that held your face, a striking resemblance that made you want to puke.
"Let's go to the next town." Xingchen spoke, but you shook your head with an annoyed huff. You were not going to change towns again, this was already the fifth and you were really not expecting the next to be better. Your family along with Guangshan were persistent, poster having spread to so many places that you basically couldn't go anywhere. The two men looked at each other before nodding and following you inside, but not before Xingchen offered you a veil to cover the bottom part of your face. You took it, putting it on with a grimace before entering the town with the others in tow. You felt uncomfortable, noticing that some looks at you remained a but too long and were often even accompanied by whispers that you could easily hear them from a distance. Faltering in your step, you tried to ignore them while awkwardly grabbing Xingchen's hand. He didn't pull back, instead he just took a hold of your hand firmly to make sure that you knew that he wouldn't let go anytime soon.
"Married~" Song Lan whistled and you scoffed, kicking back to him before taking his hand as well and dragging him along. If anyone would see you three then you would look like a couple who were dragging a kid along, you were sure that would gain a laugh. Then again, it gained a chuckle from you alone as you walked to your destination.
Soon, you reached an inn. It was old, walls covered with scratches and moss growing all over the walls and roof, and you almost feared how stable it would be. But against every doubt, you entered the inn and winced at the unstable creek beneath your feet before you walked to the man at the desk.
"Room for three? Or four if that's handier for you." You gave a smile, even though it was not visible thanks to your veil, and the man looked up from his book before closing it. Opening another book, he looked at the three of you before pointing at you.
"Veil off, we don't take people who don't show their faces." The man spoke and you sighed before taking off the veil, much to the protests of the men behind you. The elder, however, did not look surprised and instead nodded before jotting some things down and taking a key from his desk.
"Second room on the right, ten coppers." He said, holding out an hand to receive his pay before looking at Song Lan and Xingchen when you started to get your pouch.
"You're not letting the lady pay, are you?" "Oh, those old ideas are stupid. Here you go." You handed him ten before snatching the key from his hand. Then you moved to the room, gasping as you entered the room. A large room with large and comfy beds that would make you sleep in an instant. So you did, taking your shoes and outer robe off before throwing yourself on the bed.
"See this!" You could only let out a sigh of content before turning on your side, pushing your face in the pillow and burying yourself under the blanket.
"I could live here." "And I will not, see you!" Song Lan exclaimed before heading out again, leaving you and Xingchen alone. You didn't pay much more attention to him, however, as you just closed your eyes and tried to sleep for just a short time.
Xingchen watched as you fell asleep, surely by steadily, and he smiled softly before settling in his own bed. He didn't sleep, he just watched you sleep peacefully for once. The first time you had since you were traveling with him, ever since that faithful day since he had basically kidnapped you. He had seen you sleeping before, back then you were always twitching and squirming as you tried to ignore the growing nightmares. It was reassuring to see you like this, but he didn't feel comfortable enough to fall asleep himself. So he continued to stay awake, eyes remaining on your form.
Tumblr media
Your eyes opened slowly, your sight blurry for a few seconds before turning clear and connecting you to Xingchen's gaze. It was clear that he was staring, not aware that you had awoken just yet.
"Creep." You commented as you sat up, rubbing your eyes before stretching yourself. Xingchen chuckled as he leaned his head back, the first time that he actually took his eyes off you, and you moved a bit closer to him without getting off the bed.
"You slept peaceful for once." He commented to which you frowned before shrugging. It didn't sound unreasonable, you don't remember ever feeling uncomfortable or feeling like anxiety hit you when you woke up. You didn't even register the fact that he new this as a fact, meaning that he had watched sleep you at least a few times. You looked around to search for the second male, finding that he was still absent from the room.
"Song Lan is still out? It's already dark..." You took a look out of the window before looking at Xingchen, who shrugged. "He can protect himself, you know that." He answered and you threw you shoe at him with a soft glare before looking out the window once more.
"You worry too much, he'll be fine." He scoffed and you rolled your eyes at him before noticing his frown. Raising your eyebrow at him, you chucked another shoe at him and asking what was wrong with him. He didn't answer you, instead he looked at the door and away from you. You took ahold of the next object to throw, but you were stopped when he turned around caught you raising it up to throw. You chuckled awkwardly before setting it down again and sighing.
"What is it that makes you so suddenly annoyed?" You asked again and this time he didn't turn away, instead facing you fully before freezing as the door opened. Song Lan sauntered in, catching Xingchen's short glare and also freezing.
"Did I interrupt your confession?" He asked, in a very serious tone, and Xingchen's eyes widened while your mouth just dropped to the floor.
"Confession?!" You exclaimed and Song Lan looked at you before back at Xingchen, shaking his hands. "I'll be downstairs!" And then he took off, leaving you and Xingchen alone once again in an awkward silence. You looked back at him again, gasping for air as you tried to find anything to say. You couldn't think of anything, so the room just remained silent.
"Can we just ignore what he said." "No, no, no, no... Let's not. Explain, please." You said and Xingchen groaned, hand raising and brushing his hair back as he tried to explain. With a bit of pacing, only one sentence was said.
"I'm in love with you." He stated and your eyes widened again before you shook your head, realizing that something like that should already be clear. So instead you got up and walked until you were in front of him. He wanted to back up, but you grabbed the front of his shirt and made sure that he remained closer to you.
"You can't just stop there, please continue." You said and Xingchen blinked before nodding, but remaining quiet. So you chose to start, asking him how long it had been and he answered this quickly, a bit too quick even. 3 months, about half of your time together, had been him crushing on you. Now three quarters of that had been you doing the same... So you didn't really see the point in waiting much longer when you knew it to be mutual.
Pulling him down slightly, enough for you to reach him, and placing your lips on the corner of his mouth. Then you reeled back, giggling at the surprised look on his face before walking past him to the door.
"I'm going to tell Song Lan that he's safe to return." You said, opening the door before shrieking as you were pulled back and the door slammed back shut.
"He can wait."

You're not a monster
Tumblr media
Requested by anonymous: Wen Ning (revived), who finds the reader caught in a net in the forest? Will it turn out that there are certain cultivator hunters who are catching cultivators to get information about Yin Iron? Then they travel together and gradually develop feelings for each other?
Pairing: Wen Ning x gn!reader
Word Count: 1.9k words
A/N I am so sorry that this took so long! I'll be honest, this request was a bit difficult due to the Yin Iron part in your request, since it basically just a censorship in the series and it does not really have decent meaning or reason to be there... That and I also had a writers block :/
Tumblr media
Wen Ning was confused. The forest he resided in ever so often was usually quiet, not even the sounds of birds could be heard. Yet now, everything was a mess. Loud shouts pulled him deeper in the forest, making the despair of the forest more clear as Wen Ning noticed the sword marks in the trees. Then he noticed them, a group of men that surrounded a net that hung high in the air. Wen Ning quietly snuck closer, lucky that he barely made a sound as he got closer and closer to the source of the shouts.
When he got close enough, he noticed that the net did not hold an animal but rather a person. You were unconscious and Wen Ning winced as he took a closer look at your form. Cuts littered your form, some deeper than others, as the blood seeped through your clothes and dripping down to the ground. The group that surrounded the net were arguing loudly, shouting at each other while seemingly ignoring you. Wen Ning could hear their argument clearly, he could've heard them from miles away thanks to their volume, and he backed away when he heard the Yin Iron being mentioned a few times. He didn't want to be involved in this fight in any way, especially as someone who had a relative connection to the Yin Iron. Yet the little voice in his head would yell at him, pushing him to help out.
Without realizing, the chains around his torso started to loosen up and turn red. They inched closer to the group of men before shooting up and wrapping around the neck of the closest man. The chains tightened, just enough to render the man unconscious before moving on to the next victim. All five of the man were soon on the ground, eyes closed as they stayed in their forced slumber. The chains retreated before wrapping back around Wen Ning's torso, the weight finally resting back on his shoulders. His eyes moved to your form again, moving closer as he unwrapped the ropes to lower you. Once you were on the ground, Wen Ning pulled you out of the net before checking your state. You were alive, that was something. He lifted you from the ground, making sure you wouldn't lay in the dirt any longer. He'd have to take care of your wounds first, an infection was the last thing you needed now.
So Wen Ning spend the rest of the day tending to your wounds, wrapping them carefully after applying some medicine. And as the night fell, Wen Ning stayed awake to keep guard.
Tumblr media
"Can you help out for a second!" You called out to Wen Ning, who came to your side the second he heard your shout, and he paused as he saw you. Your robes were down halfway, revealing your shoulders and back to him. The bandage around your shoulder was loose, but you were clearly struggling to replace it. So he kneeled behind you and started to remove the bandage, trying to be careful to not hurt you or to irritate the wound. When it was all off, he took the clean bandage from your hand and reapplying it to your shoulder. It didn't take long for it to be finished, wrapped tightly and covering the wound enough. You pulled your robes back up, tightening them before turning your head to face Wen Ning.
"Thank you." You gave him a short smile and Wen Ning knew that he would've blushed if he was still alive. Luckily, he was not and thus he remained as pale as before while shyly looking away. He returned to his previous task, the fire before him was still unlit and it was necessary with the rapid decrease of temperature. He wasn't used to making fires, he didn't need it thanks to the state of his body and yet you did.
"Do you need help?" You asked as you approached him, leaning over him to watch the wood and he looked straight up at you. You flinched slightly at the sudden eye contact before giggling at how cute he looked, staring up to you with wide eyes. You moved from behind him and crouched, taking the stones from his hands.
"God, you're freezing." You spoke as your hands touched his and he was quick to pull back from you, but you didn't stop as you grabbed his hand. You held it tightly, trying to warm his hand up with your own to no avail. The man just stared at you as you tried to warm him up, feeling shy immediatley when he realized how weird it must look for others. He pulled his hand back after a few seconds, awkwardly moving away from you until he was at arms length. You took ahold of the stones again, lighting the fire withing a few minutes before looking back at Wen Ning.
"I apologize if I made you uncomfortable." You said, but Wen Ning was quick to shake his head at the statement. You just smiled at him before sitting down on your make-shift bed. Wen Ning just watched as you fell asleep, hands moving closer to the fire to feel the warmth that he hadn't felt in so long. It left him with a longing for life, wishing he were not dead.
Tumblr media
Wen Ning wasn't perfect, but surprisingly he was a perfect hugger. You barely remember what happened before you landed in his arms, you just remember a flash in the corner of your eyes before you jumped to Wen Ning. Without hesitation, his arms wrapped around your form to catch you and you almost melted in his hold. Even when he lacked the warmth of a normal human, you felt warmth embrace your body anyway.
"It was just a bird..." Wen Ning speaks and you look up at him, giving him a bright smile before releasing him from your grip. He followed your lead, unwrapping his arms from your form and taking a step back before looking at where the bird had landed. It looked sick, it's feathers pulled out and its skin pale. If anything, it was already dead. He went closer, poking at the bird and you were quick to pull him back.
"He's sick, do you want to get it too?" You hissed and Wen Ning looked up at you before turning back to the bird in question.
"I won't be harmed, I don't get sick." He explained, ignoring your confusion as he inspected the cause of the bird's death. The ominous feeling he got was quite similar to his own vibe, which only made him frown. Neither the Yin Iron or Wuxian were here near, so why would this bird be so corrupted? He abruptly stood up, looking around before marching to where he assumed it came from. You followed him, unaware of how he was finding his way. That was until you reached the destination, the land rotted and broken with a stench of death hanging around.
"Wen Ning?" You stepped closer to the man, grabbing his arm in a way of support as you were being pressed down by the heavy air. Your stomach was doing turns, almost making you hurl out the contents of your stomach. He moved back again, he was not going into the decayed forest with you. Although you were still far enough, you were clearly sick from the atmosphere and Wen Ning was quick to remove you by picking you up and leaving the grounds quickly. Once far enough, he laid you down before asking you if you were okay. You took a few seconds to breath in the fresher air before nodding at him, sitting up and sighing loudly.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Wen Ning asked again and you raised your hands to grab his face before nodding again. Wen Ning just stared, frozen thanks to your actions and unable to process his thoughts. He was pulled out of the thoughts, however, as you moved your hands to his neck before freezing. It was clear why, even his sister had been weirded out by his lack of living. No heartbeat and no body heat, the basic things that defined if someone was alive or not and he lacked. You didn't react much, you just let go and stared back into the forest.
"We should probably get away..." You finally broke the silence, getting up before extending your hand to him with a smile. You didn't speak of it again, but Wen Ning could sense your curiosity. He just wished he could
Tumblr media
Wen Ning should've know that entering the nearby town would be a bad idea. People knew him, they recognized him by the chains that decorated his body and the veins that creeped up his skin. Whispers surrounded you and him, but you didn't seem to listen as you hopped from stall to stall to inspect the food. Yet he couldn't help but worry about your actual reaction, uncertain whether you would remain by his side. Although he wouldn't mind being alone, he had grown attached to your presence. You were a way for him to feel human again, which might be selfish in a way but he did not care.
"Are you bothered by the crowd?" You had returned to his side, grasping his arm softly and pulling him from his thoughts effectively. He looked at you before shrinking slightly as he heard someone loudly throw insults his way.
"Shut it!" You yelled loudly to the group of men by the road, glaring their way before dragging Wen Ning away. Wen Ning wanted to thank you, but chose not to when he noticed your current annoyance. Unfortunately, the whispers didn't stop until you reached the end of the town and by then you were fuming.
"Does it not bother you? The whispers behind your back?" You turned around and looked at Wen Ning, who only shrugged before stating that it was the truth.
"That doesn't mean they can call you a monster!" You were angry, Wen Ning could sense that even when you weren't actually mean to him. You looked angry, but at the same time you looked sad.
"Why does it matter..?" Right then and there, you broke as you watched him. He clearly believed the statements in a way, not wanting to even fight for himself or his dignity. You marched closer to him, throwing your arms around his neck and pulling him into a tight hug.
"You are anything but a monster..." You whispered in his ear, making sure to embrace him tightly and just waiting for him to respond in any way. He took a few seconds before he slowly wrapped his own arms around you. The hug was comforting to him, like a warm blanket on a cold night. He melted in your touch, a weight suddenly dropping on your shoulder as he laid down his head.
"You might not love yourself, but I do." The words came out without a second thought, you didn't know why but you didn't care since it seemed to make Wen Ning happier again as his arms tightened around you slightly.
"Thank you..." His voice was soft, barely a whisper as he moved away and you smiled as you moved back slightly to view his face. He was smiling as well, albeit a shyer smile, and you sighed softly. On one hand, you wanted to just kiss him but on the other hand you just wanted to squish his face and tell him how adorable he looked. You decided to do neither of those, instead you opted for taking ahold of his hand with a smile.
"Let's move on then, shall we?"

I need you
Tumblr media
Requested by anonymous: Omg omg omg hi!❤️ The Untamed is my life and now I can find someone who makes such perfect stories on this topic? Am I in a dream??? I hope not, I have a request for Wen Ning (already like "puppet, my darling)😁: The reader (female) is his longtime friend who never let him down and protected him even more after his death (and subsequent resurrection). It was fine at first, but then something goes wrong and Wen Ning tells her that she doesn't need to protect him so much, that he can handle it himself and he didn't realize how terrible that sounded. The reader cries and runs away. At a loss, Wen Ning seeks advice from Wei Wuxian and Lan Zhan. They reveal to him that the reader actually likes him... more than a friend and that she did it all out of love. Wen Ning then goes looking for her and also confesses his feelings for her. Sorry if it's too long, my imagination is pretty wild...and please something cute ❤️ I love you!
Pairing: Wen Ning x fem!reader Word Count: 1.0k words Warnings: none
Tumblr media
It felt like only yesterday that you saw the healthy version of Wen Ning, one that always smiled brightly and hopped around as he practiced his bow skills. Yet now, he wasn't like that anymore. He was paler and his eyes didn't hold the same life as they had before. He was dead or at least technically, but he still walked around like he was fine. Years of friendship made sure that even now, you could see him as he was. Not the ghost general, but rather Wen Ning. Just Wen Ning, the cute man that acted a bit too much like a lost puppy.
The chains that were locked around his form looked heavy, yet he wore them with ease and even used them to fight. You shouldn't care so much for the deceased man, yet here you were. Protecting him against other cultivators while he just awkwardly stood there, staring at the people.
"Move." "Oh, move yourself. You're not wanted here and you will lose." You sneered at the elder before you, raising your swords in front of you before grabbing your second sword from Wen Ning's hand. Luckily for you, they moved away once Jiang Cheng entered the scene. Although the glare to Wen Ning was obvious, the man in question seemed to not notice or chose to ignore it. Nonetheless, the nobles just cursed before all entering Lotus Pier. You followed, but stopped once you realized that Wen Ning wasn't able to join you.
"Let's hang out here together." "You don't need to." His voice wasn't loud, barely above a whisper as he sat down on the docks. Nonetheless, you chose to join him anyway. Sitting beside him, you leaned against the wall behind you as you stared at the lake.
"Why did you protect me?" He asked and you turned your head before laying your head on his shoulder. It wasn't like before, his body didn't give off the warmth that it used to and instead it was freezing cold.
"You're my friend, of course I'll protect you." You sighed softly, smiling as you saw some birds land in the water beside the lotus flowers. You flinched when Wen Ning stood back up without a warning, causing you to almost fall down on the ground. With a confused look, you stood up as well.
"I'm fine on my own. I don't need you." He spoke and your eyes widened, staring at the man before you as your heart shattered. Now, you know that he probably didn't mean for it to sound like that, and yet it hurt. Like someone cut out your heart and stomped it into the ground. You couldn't help it as tears rolled down your face, blurring your vision as you stepped back from him.
"Fine, then I'll leave." You spoke, your voice cracking before you ran off into Lotus Pier. You didn't care much for the man that remained at the entrance nor the saddened look on his face. Instead you focused on keeping your tears in until your reached your bedroom.
Tumblr media
"Please tell me you didn't say it like that~?" Wuxian whined loudly, staring at the ghost general before him before looking at Lan Wangji for any kind of help. Said man only looked up from his book for a few seconds before rolling his eyes before continuing to read. With a low grumble, Wuxian turned back to focus the problem at hand.
"Look, girls are complicated. We all know that... Especially if they like you, because (y/n) definitely likes you. But you really phrased your thoughts in the wrong way, like a lot." Wuxian spoke and Wen Ning sighed, looking down at the chains that were wrapped around his wrists while trying to process the fact that Wuxian just told him that you liked him. He fiddled with the strings on his sleeves before looking up again, asking what he could possibly do. Wuxian smiled before starting his rant, explaining every single type of apology that he knew and this certainly wasn't a short list. Nonetheless, Wen Ning listened intensely.
"Got it, good! Now go apologize to her and confess!" Wuxian exclaimed loudly, smiling as he watched Wen Ning awkwardly left the room through the window. He snuck around while trying to find your room on his own. Soon enough he did and like always, he climbed through the window to avoid suspicion. You were in your room, but also quick to notice him with a soft yelp. You stared at him for a few second before pointing at the window.
"Out." For once he didn't listen to you, instead he remained at the window with a sullen look on his face. You sighed, knowing well enough that he wouldn't budge now and instead you just sat down.
"Why are you here? I thought you didn't need me." Your voice was laced with venom that Wen Ning could easily spot, if he was still alive his heart would ache painfully. Nonetheless, he started to apologize as he tried to copy what Wuxian had been telling him to say. It sounded a bit forced at first, but you could see that he meant what he was saying. Then came the shock as a confession rolled from his tongue like it was the most obvious thing ever.
"Sorry, what?" You stopped him and he looked at you with wide eyes, realizing that you found his confession a bit weird. Scrambling to find the right words to make the confession sound better, he missed the small smile that appeared on your face. It wasn't until you stood in front of him and took his face in your hands that he stopped, staring at you with wide eyes.
"I like you too Wen Ning." You said and in an instant, a smile appeared on his face as well and you were sure that he'd blush if alive. Once everything was progressed, he softly embraced you while trying to not hurt you with the chains that hung on his body. They may not weigh much to him, but he assumed that they'd be on the heavier side for you. You wrapped your arms tightly around the man's shoulders once you realized that he was trying to hug you, smiling while doing so.
"Never say you don't need me anymore." You spoke, your voice sounding a bit sad and Wen Ning was quick to shake his head.
"I will always need you."

Down on your luck
Tumblr media
Requested by anonymous: Aww, I sprained my ankle a week ago😞 can Xiao Xingchen (already blind) help me? The reader does not know him, she breaks her ankle on her travels, so there is no one around where she is, no village, no help. She believes that this is the end of her, but she is eventually found by a blind cultivator...
Pairing: Xiao Xingchen x fem!reader
Word Count: 1.0k words
Tumblr media
You couldn't believe your luck or rather the lack of. The journey had been long and you were tired, barely paying attention to the things around you. Consequence? A face-first meeting with the stone floor and a rolled over ankle. The muscles in your feet gave out everytime you stepped on it, creating a painful wave that shot right up your leg. And thus you laid here, unable to go anywhere in a town that was completely deserted. Not even ghost wandered the place, you were utterly alone and starving. At this point, you didn't know how long you would be able to sit here and stay alive. You had tried moving, but you basically had to walk on your hands while you dragged your legs behind you. It worked for the first few hours, but your arms weren't as strong as your legs and you be dammed if you had to continue moving like this.
So you just sat there sadly, hoping for anyone to pass by the little town and notice your screams.
And somehow, your prayers were answered. Just not in the way that you expected, because in no way did you think a blind man would be your savior. Of course, it didn't matter at the end of the day as long as you were able to get out of the ghost town. So you were ecstatic when you saw him approach, calling him over before explaining what had happened. He was kind enough to first give you some food and water before he quickly helped you on his back. Then the travel started and you talked to him, not that he talked much back to you. He mostly listened to you, nodding along to your story of your accident while also keeping his pace steady. One small thing, the walk to the next town was days away and you were definitely slowing him down to a week instead. So on the first night, you found some shelter by the trees next to the main road and camped their. You made a fire while the mystery man prepared a place to sleep, but you took the opportunity to ask for his name.
"Xiao Xingchen." He spoke soft, voice like honey and it was quick to melt away any distrust that you previously felt. You then introduced yourself, but he paid no mind except for a short nod while he sat down. The stars were quick to appear in the dark night sky, but you never fell asleep and neither did Xingchen. The pain in your foot hurt too much, still pulsing up to your leg with painful shocks. It was hard to ignore, your mind wouldn't shut off as it tried to warn you for the pain that you clearly already felt. At this point, you were almost ready to nearly pass out from exhaustion mixed with pain and yet your mind did not allow it in any way. It was just ridiculous at this point and you're sure that Xingchen believed the same as he heard your groans of pain.
"Could I do something to make you more comfortable?" "Unless you can magic away the pain I feel, I'm afraid not." You said, trying to make your voice sound teasing and yet you could not. Your voice sounded strained if anything. Even though you believed it impossible, Xingchen did not as he felt around for his bag before pulling out something. He skillfully moved closer to you, avoiding the fire like it was nothing before he lifted your leg. It rested on his lap, the fabric lifted to reveal your ankle. It didn't look pretty, your ankle was swollen to the size of a wine jar and bluish purple bruises ran up from your foot to your leg. Xingchen was gentle as he applied some kind of cream before ripping a part of his gown to wrap around your ankle. You wanted to protest, but he was too quick for you to even open your mouth and start to talk. Surprisingly, the pain started to subside in a matter of seconds. The cold cream that he had applied started to numb your ankle and soon enough you didn't feel a thing.
"Now rest." He spoke and you were quick to fall into a slumber. It wasn't long, you woke up merely hours later as the sun rose up above the landscape. It was bright, so bright that you could barely open your eyes. Once open, however, they were quick to land on Xingchen. He was a bit further, robes and hair flowing in the soft breeze as he moved gracefully with his sword. It was almost like he was dancing to the waves of the wind, soft movements that prevented any kind of sound from the sword as it swished through the air. You were captivated to see him, you had never seen someone perform like he did. Much to your dismay, he quickly stopped once he noticed your eyes on him.
"You're awake." He spoke as he put his sword back by his side, shedding it before walking your way. His hand moved to your ankle and you were relieved to see that the swelling had gone down significantly. Without another word, Xingchen was quick to pack up and carry you again. This repeated for four days, everytime you woke up to see him practicing again and every day he stopped once he recognized that you had awoken from your slumber.
Once the village was reached, Xingchen brought you to a doctor to heal your ankle fully and then you parted ways. He bid you goodbye with a smile and even though he couldn't see it, you smiled back with glee. You hoped to see him again soon, but you could not travel with him now. You had to return to your own world, even it meant separating from the stranger you had grown to like.

Poly Wangxian or Xicheng x reader! Something super soft and fluffy, like them figuring out they're in love with the reader, how they go about asking the reader out and maybe they're first date/kiss! I love your writing❤
heehe, alrighty.  ☆.。.:* it’s fluff time (⌐▨_▨) .。.:*☆
here’s to your request
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
“but...i liked y/n...first”
Xichen’s glad that he’s known Jiang Cheng for a while
because to anyone else
that would have probably just sounded petulant
Jiang Cheng makes a face at his friend’s (close friend, better than friends? the lines are blurring now) small chuckles
though his pout slowly turns to a smile at the way that Xichen laughs
it’s a cute thing where he hides his whole face in his hands
and a squeaky sort of sound
and it’s so so so cute
which is why, Jiang Cheng doesn’t understand how his heart can soar at the sight of his best friend so easily
but also stutter and skip when it lands on your face
he’d spent many sleepless nights feeling wrong, feeling stupid, selfish and egotistical
but after today’s talk, he’d come to realize that it wasn’t too far off an emotion to feel
and that he wasn’t the only one
when Lan Xichen calms down again, he meets eyes with his long time friend, breathing out a long breath
“well, now we both like y/n,” Xichen notes
it feels like a bomb dropped
even though this isn’t the first time that they have discussed this
“so what do we do now?”
that has always been the question
were you supposed to fight, have a competition
but were you supposed to do if you cherished, liked, loved, both parties?
is this wrong, always an echoing question at the back of each of their minds
but when Jiang Cheng looks to the side, and imagines Lan Xichen’s profile glowing as he looks down at you
and when Lan Xichen meets Jiang Cheng’s eyes, and can see the worry lines disappear whenever you lean behind him to hug him close
it feels like the piece between them has to be you
it’s always been you
“we’ll tell y/n,”
“just say how we feel?”
“mhm.”
and no matter the answer they each received
somehow,
Lan Xichen
and Jiang Cheng
feel like they won’t regret it
they won’t regret anything when it comes to you

MDZS characters asking their friend why they've got an empty shelf and their friend just tells them, "This is where I'd keep my trophies. If I had any!"
lele, in reality this is actually me
here’s to your request~
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Lan Wangji
the shelf is gathering dust
which is why Lan Wangji asked about it in the first place
and when you had nonchalantly said that line
Lan Wangji would simply stare
from you
to the shelf
than back again
and about two times more before you slapped him in the arm to get him to stop
“i get it alright! i’m not a very good competitor, no need to rub it in mister all star,” you tell him,
flash back to Lan Wangji’s room when you came over that one time
where he literally had a built in shelf to on one side of his wall
like geez, just take everyone’s medals i guess
when you meet eyes with Lan Wangji’s eyes
you think he must be remembering thing as you
because he simply smiles
Song Lan
“oh...”
you turn to Song Lan, surprised that he actually looks slightly guilty
“oh, dude, it’s completely fine. like i’m used to it” you try to assure, but then realize that probably sounds worse
“i mean, ah, i don’t join a lot of competitions in the first place, i’m not too salty about it,” you explain
and although that lightens the furrow on his face ever so slightly
he still looks like he feels slightly bad for you
which you find is completely unnecessary
“honestly, i’m actually more proud of my figurine collection, wanna see?”
and that’s definitely something that draws his attention away from that empty shelf
Xue Yang
would snort
you’d laugh at it too, and turn to the rest of your room to show him around
but then when you see him still staring at the shelf you turn back to him, an inquisitive look on your face
“you ever think you’re gonna fill it up?”
it sounds conversational
but with how well you know him, he might as well be teasing you
“eh, we’ll see if there are any up coming competitions to try”
Mo Xuanyu
sighs at your response, an understanding sort of sound
“ah, me either,”
it’s kind of like an in between of “oof we don’t have a lot of awards” and an “oh well”
you clasp your hand on Xuanyu’s shoulder, an appreciative nod as you stare at the shelf
“i mean, i’d just fill it with books”
“yea same,”
and its this weird, underlying mutual understanding that you both have
but you appreciate it nonetheless
