Robin

Mainly sticks with the easy difficulty

Likes building things in survival mode instead of creative for the extra challenge

Has keep inventory on + mob griefing off

Plays multiplayer a lot (sometimes with local orphans, sometimes online), and can get quite competitive during minigames

Parkour is the bane of their existence

Has like 46 dogs in their main survival world

Scared of Herobrine (they know he's fake, but...)

Has thought about streaming their gameplay, but they need some encouragement from you in order for them to go through with it

The peaceful music from the game paired with Robin's commentary is calming, you might take a nap...

Whitney

Griefs your base with TNT and lava buckets, initially

Starts getting more creative with ways to fuck with your shit, you'd be impressed if you weren't so pissed

Got a friend of theirs to help them use cheats, but brags about it + takes the credit for themself

Has been banned from a handful of online servers, takes pride in the ever growing list

Builds,,, questionable sculptures

Basically a big troll lmfao

Throws their controller/hits their keyboard when raging (they strike me more as a console type of person, though)

Has a dog/cat/horse they name the same thing every single time (perhaps in remembrance of an old pet or stray)

Mickey

Almost exclusively* plays modded singleplayer

* Maybe they used to play with Robin or other orphans (before life got so much more complicated, anyway,,)

Has made their own mods + add-ons but hasn't posted any online

Fond of mods that add RPG + fantasy elements to the game (especially DRAGONS!)

Pretty good with redstone, they like making weird contraptions

Has a complicated + organized base

Sets up traps, hidden compartments + other secrets in their base even though they're the only one who'll see it

Tries to get all the achievements (vanilla + any that mods add) + collects and frames special items

Has a lot of commands memorized + knows how to use command blocks

Sydney

You introduce them to the game and they like it a lot!

It's funny watching them learn more about the game and what to do/what not to do

Punched a bee once and fell off a cliff trying to run from it

Dies a lot tbh, and you see death messages you've never seen before because of that lol

Corrupt!Sydney makes their character twerk (crouch, un-crouch, repeat), laughs at it every time

Surprisingly good at building, recreates locations from their favorite books

Only really plays it when you guys play together, though

If you're gaming together at their house, Sirris pops in to check in on you guys at some point and pauses to smile at the heartwarming sight (as embarrassing as it may be for Sydney)

Kylar

"What if I put my Minecraft bed next to yours? haha jk... unless?"

Has the most OVERKILL gaming PC setup you've seen (way too many screens, everything has lights, etc etc. looks pretty dope tbh)

Likes designing Minecraft skins! (there's like 10 separate skins of you in different outfits)

Plays heavily modded Minecraft, but will play vanilla or lighter mod packs with you

Definitely tried that one Girlfriend mod at some point

Has attempted a few speedruns (in the Top 10s for some of them!)

Gets SO excited when you tell them that you like Minecraft too (but it's not like they didn't know that already)

Alex

Doesn't have much time to play with their current workload

When they do, the most they do is play it as a farming sim (???) (you get them to explore more options to do in the game)

Becomes a BIG fan of parkour!

Downloads parkour + adventure maps so they can play it offline (farm WiFi can be unreliable)

Learns some basic redstone, mainly to improve their (in-game) farms

Automatic farms + mob grinders, though they still like the experience of doing it themself

Builds a Minecraft version of their real farm, excitedly shows it to you

Names some in-game farm animals after their siblings as a joke

Gwylan

Only plays offline because they live in The Forest ™️

Loves potion brewing! (they don't have an internet guide so they experiment with different combos all by themself, gets quite good at it)

Hoarder. Has so many items scattered across their chests, they forget what they do and don't have

Aesthetic matters to them a lot when choosing where to put their base + building it

Went to the End + defeated the dragon just to get the blocks there + the egg for decoration

1.17 (first part of the Caves And Cliffs update) is their favorite yet, all the new blocks and cave biomes make them go aaaaaaaaa

Felt so bad when they had to kill animals for food in the beginning, has a good farm system now though

Definitely keeps mobs you can't tame as pets

what's your favourite sims death?

ngl i dont actually have one, im terrified of any of my babies dying so they never do...but i guess old age maybe? because that means theyve lived a long life and ive played with them for a long time?

alpha cc or mm?

alpha HANDS DOWN...i dont hate mm by any means dont get me wrong, but ill always be an alpha girl at heart. its the alpha hairs, they always get me.

do you cheat your sims weight?

only if it fits their character i guess? not usually in gameplay.

do you move objects

i move objects every single day.

fave mod?

ooofff i mean out of necessity? nraas. but just the one i love? hands down pose player. mostly because i was so excited when i finally got it to work (i was like 13 or something and before then i could not figure out how to get mods to work) so a lot of happy memories from finally getting my sims to pose.

first expansion/game pack/stuff pack?

my first ever was sims 2 glamour life stuff pack when i was a kid. if we're talking sims 3, i believe the first pack i got was generations, which is still my favourite sims pack ever.

do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing?

i pronounce it LIVE, always have as far as i know.

well, its gotta be elodie honestly. she and eli are the longest sims i have ever had and i love them both dearly. in the sims 4, its gotta be my girl pippa. before tumblr? i had this family called the moretti's, i miss them and i think about them way too often. i loved them all.

have you made a simself?

oh yeah. loads of times. i think ive shared my sims 3 and sims 4 variations on tumblr (but they look really weird tbh). i love making myself, cause then i can wear all these clothes i cant afford in real life.

im with aimee on this one.

im mostly joking, but usually sims 3 hairs are a no go for me, except for some store ones and the hairs that are pulled back into buns always look really nice. for sims 4, only the newer ones. the older ones are not for me.

favourite life stage?

young adult. i feel like you can always do more with young adult sims and you have so much more time (except in sims 1 i believe?and sims 2 only if u went to uni?? idk). 90% of my sims are forever young adults because i love that life stage so much.

are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?

mate ive been trying to build for donkeys years to no avail. so im almost always in it for the gameplay.

as in sims or gameplay? idk ill talk about both. gameplay wise, not much, except im weirdly a lot more controlling then i was over my sims WHOOPS. but i still cant get passed gen 2 so that hasn't changed. but i still prefer family gameplay, probably always will. and challenges, always challenges. sims wise? a lot.

of all time? generations, no doubt in my mind. i never had any sims 1 or sims 2 expansions, so i never got to experience those unfortunately. generations was perfection though. i mean, boarding school? lifesaver. also led to the best sims series of all time: lifesimmer's generations. for sims 4 though? probably get together, purely because of the world.

Y'know what? i'm in a MOOD and we're gonna talk about it

First of all, I'm not trying to fight anyone or start beef with anyone in the community (unless you're the CEO of EA in that case PULL UP) so don't come for me? I love this community and this game. I'm just bringing light to a few things that I feel we have a right to discuss.

My Wedding Stories is riddled with glitches and bugs, as you can tell if you watch or see ANY of the EA game changers posts on it. Some core features are almost unplayable. Like, have we ever seen an early access release be THIS buggy? It's kind of incredible that the original release date was the 17th because it obviously was not going to be ready in time. Some of the issues people are experiencing are: wedding venues NOT letting you throw weddings (lol), wedding cakes spoiling instantly, guests not paying attention to toasts/first dances, guests not wearing formal attire, flower pals/guests not following directions, etc. All of those sounds like pretty integral parts of a wedding themed pack. I mean, even in the OFFICIAL livestream it was buggy as hell.. If you want more examples you can watch Plumbella's video or neecxle's because it sums up a bunch of the glitches and bugs people are experiencing. I do understand that the version that has been sent to the game changers is NOT the final copy, but still: If the original release date was the 17th, how much would they have been able to fix before the release? How much WILL they end up fixing? That's still to be determined, but Let's take a moment to look back on one of the most buggy game packs. Dine Out. I still experience bugs with this pack, you most likely still experience bugs with this pack. Hmmmm. I wonder when it came out?

5+ YEARS! and this is just a fraction of the (recent-ish) google searches talking about dine out bugs. You'll find SO MANY MORE in the forums, for countless other EPs and GPs as well.

This pack is STILL broken! We've been begging them for how long? They throw in ONE dine out bug fix every.... six months to a year maybe'? In my opinion, EA has absolutely proven they have become content with releasing buggy, somewhat unfinished content and they know they can get away with it because a (fairly large) majority will just grab onto the next pack or kit and forget about the glaring inadequacies of other packs. They are a multi Billion dollar company who has had a professional, highly skilled team working on this game for over 7 years and yet modders who often ask for nothing in return seem to be able to do it better than them. littlemssam, bienchen mods and the like are literal blessings to this community if you ask me. How many times have we seen modders release 'emergency mods' after new packs/patches to attempt fix the game? EA really seems to put so little time and effort into proper playtesting and bug/glitch fixing and release such.. subpar products? If they just put a BIT more effort into the actual game, a lot of the issues could have been avoided. Instead of that, though, they're like there's 8 more cas + build/buy kits coming out this quarter and don't forget to buy journey to batuu on sale 50% off this week only!

We are consumers. We are ALLOWED to want a decent product that is (relatively) bug free. A lot of us have invested upwards of a THOUSAND dollars into this game? I really don't think it's too much to ask for less buggy releases. I just wish that we as a community would hold EA more accountable for the amount of bugs and glitches that can still be found in the vanilla game to this day and the bugs and glitches that always haunt every new release because they have consistently sold unfinished products to make the most income lol

my long overview/review of ‘Star Wars: Journey to Batuu’ after forcing myself to play it almost nonstop

so i said i was going to amend what i said in response to this ask after playing to min/max shit so here is a tldr version of my opinion after playing:

I consider this pack to be a 2/10; It's enough to kill time as a temporary distraction, but not for long. There’s absolutely no replay value after going through all those missions as each outcome is ultimately the same by faction. There also doesn’t seem to be any negative outcomes for each prompt in the little “choose your adventure” pop ups--And if there is, it is extremely low since I have never gotten a negative outcome. 

The aspirations are fair, and are the only things I found in this pack that’s anyway redeemable since I believe the rewards can be used well in conjunction with general solo/super-sim gameplay.

kinda sat on this for a while bc i wasn’t sure if i should post something so lengthy but then i remembered this is my blog n i can post my left toe if i wanted to

even tho i would never post a pic of my left toe anyway

.......at least for free. With the right price, however....

anyway more details under the cut if you’re interested bc i like to ramble :))

I decided to split this into 5 sections to organize my thoughts a little better. I’ll be separating my thoughts on each faction, the ships as a rabbit hole, the faction missions, the star wars aspirations, and then the breakdown of my 2/10 rating. 

1. Factions

When you travel to Batuu, the game gives you a starting “mission” or quest to get you acclimated to the areas, and each area has a specific Faction associated with it.

And yes, you cannot live anywhere, nor are there any lots, as was already stated.

Every area has a similar makeup which has:

Control Panels

Supply Crates

1 non-rabbit hole area

1 interactable ship

The Black Spire Outpost is the biggest area and has:

Two places to grab food, three if you count the Cantina

Aside from the Cantina, the other areas are rabbit holes

The two eateries are:

Docking Bay 7

this one has the most food options

you’ll never go hungry in batuu because the cheapest items on the menu are Outpost Popcorn Mix and Water at 0 credits lmao

the other two foods not shown in the screenshot above are Yobshrimp Noodle Salad and Braised Shaak Roast

Ronto Roasters

This food place has two of the same options Docking Bay 7 has as well as two additional food items

Oga’s Cantina

The only area that you see the inside of

yea the bar serves batuu-only drinks too

also where you find the guy who would give you Scoundrel missions, Hondo Ohnaka.

You can essentially max your Scoundrel reputation without it hindering whichever side you wanna take, and you can keep it when you essentially max out your rep on either the Resistance or the First Order.

There aren’t any real pros to being a Scoundrel aside from some socialization interactions. It doesn’t do anything for initial Batuu gameplay aside from unlocking Scoundrel outfits in CAS and some upgrades for your droids, but this goes for all of your options (Resistance, First Order, & Scoundrel).

The Dwelling

This is a rabbit hole where your sim goes to sleep, pee, or shower… If not the closest bench. 

It’s located opposite to the Cantina. 

If you’re ever lost, there’s a spire you can sit/nap on right in front of it–or you can just wait till your sim wants to pee. 

they’ll automatically run there

Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiquities

Another rabbithole

This place sells items you can use to complete missions, like Dataspikes and a couple of Lightsaber parts

Majority of the inventory are decorative stuff to bring back with you

Savi’s Workshop

Right behind the antique shop is the lightsaber place where you can find more hilts, kyber crystals, and display cases for your lightsabers.

You can also click on the shop to start a lightsaber challenge.

Outside this area, you have the First Order District which has more supply crates and control panels than the other two neighborhoods, and a lot more activity–Makes sense since this is basically the hub for the First Order in general. 

There’s only the Droid Depot in this area, and the only real shop that has use for credits. Food wise, there’s a food stall, and if your sim is stinky or tired, they’d basically disappear for a few minutes to recharge and come back.

Each faction has specific Droid personality traits

Aside from “voices,” these personalities don’t do much

I guess the First Order one is a lot more zap-happy though

The Resistance Camp is even smaller. Like the other areas, it’s littered with supply crates, but only has one control panel and no shops. However, there’s a rabbit hole toward the back in the Caves.

This doesn’t lead you to anywhere interesting, and it’s just another ‘choose your own adventure’ kind of thing. 

2. Ships

In the Black Spire Outpost, you’ll find the iconic Millennium Falcon. You can do kessel runs and explore in the Millennium Falcon with Chewbacca if you have a high Scoundrel reputation. 

However, although I said you get to ride with Chewbacca, you don’t ever see him come out 

He just kinda……………..stays there

and the prompts tell u he’s there

n ur gonna have to go with it and use the power of your imagination to believe he really do be there

In the First Order District, there’s the TIE Echelon, which functions the same way as the Millennium Falcon… But, you can’t do anything outside of exploring or using it for missions. This is how the X-Wing Starfighter in the Resistance Camp functions as well. 

It’s all pretty copy and paste, but w/e, that’s how EA does it

3. Missions

There may be several different missions per faction, but to no one’s surprise, they’re all literally the same one but worded differently.

Regular missions only have one plus (+) and one negative (-) icon

Regular Scoundrel missions only have one plus icon and no negatives since they don’t impact other factions

Each faction has a regular mission that pertains to:

Obtaining information

Exploring with the faction’s designated ship

Stealing from Supply Crates

Hacking a Control Panel

Yes………………….They’re very repetitive

You don’t have to do all of them though

You can spam the same one over and over as long as it fits the time slot

For example, the Resistance’s ship exploration mission is limited to only the day time and seems to disappear when it gets late in game

also there’s an error with the TIE Echelon where it’s missing a whole ass prompt

……As you can see, the options make no sense because the prompt is the same one that came before it 🥴

anyway…

Story Missions are the only missions that seem to differentiate from each faction.

All missions that pertain to the “story” are indicated with prerequisites of higher ranks within the faction

All of them give a double boost toward your faction

If it’s a Resistance story quest, it’ll always increase hostility from First Order members

Vice versa for the First Order faction

The Scoundrels are neutral, and do not impact any faction 

It’s only the Resistance and First Order factions that have very similar plot lines

but I’m guessing it’s only like that since they’re supposed to follow the vague cause/effect the two of them have?

4. Aspirations

The initial Aspiration you get when you pick the Star Wars umbrella in CAS (or in game) is “Hope VS Order.” After completing this one aspiration, you unlock the 3 that pertain to each faction.

Paragon of Hope

Resistance aspiration

Reward trait gives a boost to Charisma skill building

This is probably nice for those careers that need Charisma to be high, like the Political and Business branches

Enforcer of Order

First Order aspiration

Lowers chances of “Death from Anger”

5. Reevaluation of Initial Opinions

I’ll be going through my initial list from my Response to the Ask I got before. I originally stated that it seemed promising and it was a 3.5~4/10.

Aesthetics/Visual: my opinion is unchanged, it still made me sad i can’t have a little shanty house out there or rent a garbo lot, 0.5/5

The longer I played, the more I didn’t find any new animations

The lightsaber sparring slowly began to look like a mash between GF and RoM duels after a while

I still hate that the areas were beautiful (+0.5) but the interactive places forced cutaway

why do you wanna ruin my screenshots like this, man

CAS/BB still is hard to integrate–Unless your sim is a geek with figurines, the ship models might be nice to add to their collections

I think that playing 3984729847 repetitive missions for a long period time really orientated me to the whole map

…but the fact that i had trouble the first time around still makes it not-user friendly

the issue I had with the resistance members not having an icon? It’s a thing, I guess

The resistance quests take you on a weird trip to “prove” yourself so i guess the icons are supposed to show that they’re “not” resistance members or something idk

they’re supposed to be the sneaky underdogs who wanna do good or w/e

Honestly i just love the pickpocketing reward off the Scoundrel aspiration, just because it works outside of Batuu (and that he didn’t have to be in the Criminal career for it either)

In total, my personal rating for this pack is 2/10.

It was nice, but I don’t really see this pack being replayable, considering that i did everything there was to do on Batuu in a single trip. Sure I could’ve taken my time, but since everything would end up the same anyway, it felt like it was set up to be a one-time gig. 

At least with JA you’re moderately forced to return so you can collect treasures that are RNG–In JtB, you can snatch up all that you need on Batuu from grinding everything like a nutcase. There’s also chances of failure in JA, but on Batuu that percentage is almost little to none. The most you’ll ever get is a dazed moodlet that barely lasts, a negative relationship, and being escorted to a loading screen.  

I feel like this pack could be a little better if there were more risks involved, but there are barely any that I encountered. It’s just another weird, rehashed cash grab by EA.

Ranking ALL the Sims 3 Expansion Packs - tonitalks

WOW, Tonitalks and I have a lot of similar ideas about the TS3 EPs! ❤️

It’s like, on one hand, every TS3 EP is amazing (especially when compared to the pittance being sold in TS4′s EPs). But on the other hand, EA really dropped the ball in areas where it should have really gone further to expand core gameplay. Even the best EPs had glaring flaws, and tend to fall short of things TS1/TS2 did better. But on the whole, what we got was just enough to keep the TS3 fandom alive even 11 years later. Bless.

MY THOUGHTS (under the cut):

(Unless Tumblr’s flagged it, I could’ve sworn I made an updated Best/Worst post ranking all the TS3 EPs. But the only one still on my blog is my old one I made before I bought all the EPs, though it mostly still aligns with how I feel.)

Toni S A B C D F ranking system is mostly based on which packs have the most content and varied things things to do. Toni’s S A B ranks are her must-owns, while the C D F ranks are her most disappointing games.

S: Generations, Supernatural

Toni’s only complaint about GEN is the Imaginary Friends lifestate, which: same. Frikkin creepy. But the rest of GEN is a MUST-OWN for kids & elders.

And finally! A reviewer giving Supernatural the respect it DESERVES! ^0^ SN was stuffed to the brim; SO much content! Granted, it’s no Makin Magic, and I personally was underwhelmed by Moonlit Falls, as I like Midnight Hollow and Dragon Valley WAY more, but SN is still my favorite TS3 EP, regardless. Anyone who loves the “weird, wonderful and magic“ side of The Sims NEEDS SN. 💯💯💯 (Just make sure to mod the Zombies out or adjust your lifestate settings; whatever works to get rid of them.)

A: Seasons, University

Seasons is an excellent pack--Toni wanted a new world, which: same, but there’s just an ungodly amount of new content in SSNS, it’s the best and most well-made TS3 EP, period. 

To this day I’ve NEVER sent my sims to UNI. I hate school IRL, so unless my sims are going to effing Hogwarts I have no desire to ever bother with the school crap. Toni doesn’t like the 3 social groups, but I actually LOVE them. Almost all of my sims are either Rebels or Nerds. Crazy enough, I love the amount of new content UNI added, I just never use it for my sims’ schooling. I love the radio station, weather machine, whiteboard, skeleton set, etc etc.

B: World Adventures, Pets

For Toni, the main complaint for WA is basically the repetitiveness of the tombs, and their lack of replayability. Yes, technically this is true, as WA veers dangerously close to where TS4 went wrong with all the storyline GPs, as if they’re Castaways or The Sims Medieval. The main difference though is that we can create/download as many new tombs as we want, which 100% keeps WA fresh and interesting for me. But yes, It’s an excellent pack, which is crazy considering it’s the first one for TS3.

Toni's biggest criticism for Pets is how high maintenance horses are, which YES. Unless your sims are rich and own a lot of property, horses are almost impossible to own...but that’s how horses are IRL anyway, so IMO I don’t see that as a negative. The only problem is when you want horses in CC worlds that are too small, where you can't fit in enough 64x64 lots. (So it’s no surprise TS4 didn’t even bother. 🙄 )

C: Ambitions

Toni felt that more could’ve been done with the professions & careers, which, YES! Too many rabbithole careers, and not enough interactions. I freaking love that they added professions with playable firehouses and private investigators, but I too wish that every career could just be opened up; I hate rabbitholes. And she thought Twinbrook was meh, but I think Twinbrook’s one of the better EP worlds. (The Store worlds are where it’s at, though -- eff most of the EP worlds, tbh.) Overall I really really like AMB; it was headed in the right direction, though I can see where it could’ve easily let people down who were expecting a lot more from the professions/careers. (EA obviously learned NOTHING from AMB’s feedback, considering what Get to Work did....)

D: Showtime, Island Paradise, Into the Future

Showtime: Toni said “what was this game?“ 😂The Genies were a poor fit, the professions should’ve given us WAY more, there’s no acting career in “Hollywood,“ etc. Exactly. Not to mention the dumpster fire that was Simport. But I have a love/hate relationship with SHT. I actually treat SHT the way I do UNI & IP -- I really like the side content it added; I just never bother with the core game mechanic: superstardom, schools, and underwater. That makes 50% of the game useless for me, which is why I always get EPs on sale. ^_^

I agree with Toni that Island Paradise should’ve been like World Adventures, with different vacation locations. It could’ve been more like Castaways, with Tiki/Polynesian/Melanesian islands, Asian islands, Caribbean islands, Mediterranean Islands, etc. Plus, both of us didn’t like the mermaid system. Making them requires too much effort for them to not do all that much underwater. But to be fair, IP added A LOT Of new content. For what it did add, there is an impressive amount. Island Living sure can't say the same! 🤣

Into the Future however.... I understand why Toni was so hard with this pack. Trust: I ran the main thread at the officials that asked for a Time Travel expansion, so ITF holds a very special place in my heart, cuz EA for the most part kinda listened? ITF is awesome. It added some super cool content that I use religiously; ITF’s one of my top 3 EPs. But yeah, choices were made that had me like WTF?? Toni wanted ITF to be more hi-tech, which SAME! I wanted more of a Star Wars Blade Runner cyberpunk neon metropolis, and a steampunk/dieselpunk industrial dystopia. I have no idea where TF that “utopian” Willy Wonka zany Hunger Games nonsense came from. It was kinda retro-futuristic Jetsons Star Trek TOS in a way, which I like, but...? Choices. EA definitely could’ve done more with ITF, for sure. IMO itr needed to be more like WA, too. U_U

F: Late Night - I hollered! 😭

Y’all know I effing hate Late Night. Only reason I keep it installed is for the musical instruments & highrises. It’s certainly no Apartment Life, and it’s definitely no Night Life, but it’ll do in a pinch. The obnoxious Celebrities/Paparazzi, Twilight vampires, cramped Bridgeport...no thanks. Especially with Boroughsburg out here just SHAMING EA. SHAME! I wish someone would remake Bridgeport as a cyberpunk world, that would be awesome. Otherwise most of LN is useless to me. :\

So basically, if I were to follow Toni’s S A B C D F ranking system, and classify TS3′s EPs based on its content quantity, and EA’s dedication to thematic cohesion, my list would be as follows:

S: Generations, Seasons, Supernatural

All radically overhaul the core mechanics of the game/world itself: age states, weather, and lifestates/occults.

A: World Adventures, Pets

World Adventures added 3 new worlds and cultures; and Pets added animals. It’s just arguable whether EA should’ve done more with them all or not.

B: University, Island Paradise, Into the Future

Chock-full of new activities & skills, but your mileage may vary.

C: Ambitions (AMB didn’t really come with as much as it should have)

D: Showtime (SHT included a lot, but not much of it made thematic sense)

F: Late Night (LN needed to commit to what makes a celebrity--music/movie/fashion/etc CAREERS--rather than the hollow lifestyle of a celeb)

We put a bunch of cc ideas (hair and clothes) in a discord server we have together and then work on the stuff together on call usually so each item is the way we both want me. Like for example i’ll be meshing the Ivy top while he works on texturing the ribbed version.  We also only do collabs when they happen, we didn’t plan AxA 2019 or this new set, mainly just made cc starting in May and wrapped it up in July to release in August. Then this time we started making stuff late December and got most of it done by the time I got done with my break. Having a planned collab/deadline makes stuff less stressful and the stuff usually turns out better imo

omg noooo ;n; yeah Litten is a cutie... incineroar is... well I got used to him tbh and kind of like him now? I absolutely hate scorbunny’s evolution (and most of the SWSH starters final evolution) so I think that made incineroar slightly better in my eyes. My shiny litten will be staying a kitten however :)

I really really wanted to have all my 2019 hairs updated by 2020. It was only January 2019-April 2019 that needed updated (thumbnails and display indexes). But I just lost motivation for doing it. this is a late as hell reply i’m sorry. I think that you have texture where the glasses texture would be. Hair texture should only be in hair section or hat section (if you don’t want it hat compatible). Here is a UV map layout that I use for making hair textures. It shouldnt have anything to do with weights

I do use reshade when I take cc previews. It adds a bit of saturation to my sims and gives them some shadows under their chin/clothes. Nothing major. Also, myself and @imvikai came up with the tropical punch palette together.

Hi Becca, I'm loving your 100 Baby Challenge! Couple q's for you, if you have time... When you create new sims, do you use a base or work with whatever the generator gives you? I hate the look of the pre generated sims and I'm terrible at making my own! (If I could commission a base male and female sim from you, I'd happily pay!) Also, are you playing almost CC free now? Hi Katie!! As always, you are just too sweet for you own good!! 💜

I used to use a base sim (and tbh you could download any sim from my gallery currently and they all would work as a base sim because they’re all very similar) but now I pretty much just abuse the randomise button in every category LOL I hated every single sim I was creating; they all started looking the same and it was annoying me. Obviously there’s gonna be some sameness to them because “sim-style” is a thing, but I wanted more diversity in my sims so I gave myself some CAS rules. You didn’t ask for a very detailed description but here’s one anyway 😂

First of all, I have a Zerbu’s More CAS Presets mod, which gives me hundreds of new options in all the different face/body categories, so that helps. But basically when I want to create a sim I first randomise the base (the random dice down the bottom of CAS), then I go in and randomise literally everything about the sim. Clothes, hair, eyes, nose, jaw, cheeks, body, ears; everything that has a randomise option gets randomised. BUT I give myself 5 rolls of the random dice to choose from, and ONLY 5. If I don’t like anything in those 5 options? Too bad. Although, if for example all 5 options rolled in the everyday category turn out to be underwear (surprisingly that has happened lol) then I start again with another 5. But I always stick to one of those 5 options. It really cuts down on the time spent in CAS lemme tell you, and I’ve been much happier with the sims I’ve been creating, so it’s win win!

As for being CC free… kind of but not really? I have CC in my game but the more packs EA add, the less I find I want to use it, especially build/buy stuff; so even though it’s there I just kind of ignore it. I still love downloading and checking out new CC, and making it myself, and I still use mods and have no plans to completely do away with CC; I just… I dunno, I don’t find myself searching for it as much in game anymore, if that makes sense 😊

It’s been a while! Sorry guys. School has started and I’m kind of a mess. The usual stuff, nothing to worry about.

YAY! From what I’ve seen, most people seem to abandon this legacy challenge on gen 2 or 3, I haven’t seen many of those who got past yellow gen. I’m starting that one soon and I have a feeling the requirements might be a little harder than they seem...but we’ll see! I plan to get to gen 10 for sure!

My RL Gameplay

I told Nico everything! The complete truth of what the painkillers are all about and why I did what I did tonight. So if you don't want to know what I told Nico, you shouldn't read on under the cut. I don't want to give anyone stupid thoughts. But life isn't always as colorful & easy as it is in Sims. Unfortunately! Oh, and Nico doesn't have a tattoo on his upper body in RL, but on his back, which goes over almost his entire back and that was hard to find and tbh, I was too lazy. That's why I just left this one. I hope he forgives me! And as I said, do not read any further from now on, because it can get tough!

Nico: How long have you been doing this? Because it was definitely not your first time!

Me: Usually I rly do NOT do what I have in the nightclub today! That was an exception! Only when I go out, but not always! 

Nico: Ok! But why are you so bad now? I don’t get it? If you are not addicted what is it then?

Me: It all started with my headache. I took various painkillers and NOTHING helped, Nico! NOTHING! I couldn't take the pain anymore. Once they got so strong that I passed out and my parents took me to the hospital. There I was given an opiate pain reliever while being watched. And that helped!

When I had this pain again, I went to the doctor with my findings and he prescribed me this pain reliever, but of course he didn't give me a whole pack. I had to go to the pharmacy every day and take it there under supervision to keep the correct dose in order not to get addicted. So I did that for a while.

But then that happened to these 3 guys at this party. What I told only you about. That evening I took a pill before going and I had a drink at the party, even though I can't tolerate alcohol. I rly just had one fucking sip! From then on, I don't remember exactly. The next morning I was in bed with these 3 guys and hardly had anything on. I also had injuries to my body and went to the doctor. My gynecologist confirmed what I suspected. They had sex with me even though I resisted. And then I started to wonder WHY? Why again? I told you I don't remember that first time But that's not true! I know everything! In the meantime, I found a way to get the pills myself. I didn't need a doctor anymore! Then I kept taking the pills to destroy myself. I think? No idea?

Nico: Why didn't you talk to me instead of taking pills to forget. You will not be able to suppress! And it was NOT your fault because it happened again!

Me: May be? Now that I've told you everything, I don't feel guilty as I usually do.

Nico: You see?.. So how do we get you off the pills now?

Me: Idk? Maybe I should tell my Doc everything?

Nico: Do ​​that ! I'll go with you. But what now, you are not well. 

Me: I know! And I can't take it, so I have to take a pill.

Nico: But if you do, then ... you will never stop. Come on, go take a shower then you'll feel better & we'll do something together until we somehow fall asleep. I will not leave you alone with your pain! But you shouldn't take your bag into the bathroom with you.

Me: Ok!

Hunk Headcanons (+gen Garrison Trio)

(1.) He’s an only child That’s part of why Hunk’s so quick to adopt Keith and Lance as his brothers, honestly, he always wanted a sibling and other kids could be jerks sometimes. Being the chubby kid is bad enough without also being The Smart One. So he just wants people to hug and share his food with and have that brotherly stuff he’s seen on tv. It’s also why he’s so terrible about privacy, he didn’t grow up with siblings fighting for their own space and stuff, so he’s just like… what do you mean I shouldn’t read your diary Pidge… it was right there… Pidge why can’t I play with your computer it’s so cool… I bet I could make it even better if you just let me take a look… why is this a big deal?? please let me play with the cool robot too??

(2.) He hates soda. Like, listen, if you have to have caffeine to exist (Pidge and Shiro tbh), at least drink coffee? Or tea? Hunk is a big herbal tea dude, but black tea is great for when he’s tired. It depends on his mood and what he’s eating. His favorite flavor is pomegranate rose. It just has this lovely aroma when the steam rises, like potpourri.

(3.) He was on master chef junior as a small child. Hunk took second place, which kills him to this day, but he got no less than three Gordon Ramsey hugs. Lance doesn’t believe him, even with photographic evidence. Keith totally watched that season in one of the better foster homes, so he gives Hunk weird looks for a bit at the beginning before he recognizes him. Then, as usual, Keith’s mind is blown. Lance refuses to accept Keith’s word as additional evidence. Hunk is smug tho.

(4.) Hunk wants to help Pidge with more stuff, she’s just a jealous brat (ha, green eyed monster) who never learned to share. Mostly out of spite bc Matt was terrible about taking things and then breaking them. Pidge has trust issues with letting ppl touch her stuff thanks to him. They’re working on it. In the end she gives in bc Hunk fixes everything he breaks. Pidge breaks more stuff than he does, so he’s kinda like… ha. Told you so.

(5.) Hunk is still kinda uneasy over Pidge’s whole “I don’t have time for you” thing from when they first met? And he gets it now, she’s trying to find her family, which is SUPER important. I mean he was on her side about leaving at first, his family is small but they’re all he has and he wants to go back to them. But just bc he understands doesn’t make him comfortable? In some ways it’s worse, bc now he feels bad about it, like every time he wants to hang out with Pidge he’s just wasting her time or getting in the way. Then one day he’s got this software problem, and honestly, Hunk is fine with the basics but he IS NOT a software guy. Just let him at the moving parts and they’re fine. Intricate code where forgetting one freaking parenthesis will fuck the whole thing up? No. Anyway so he finally gives up and goes to Pidge. Says he knows she’s really busy but he’s stuck, and if she has a minute to take a look he’d really appreciate it? And Pidge is just like, for you? Always. And Hunk doesn’t say anything but his heart… just… grows three sizes, he’s just really touched tbh. He bothers her more often after that, and she gets impatient easily but she never turns him away.

(6.) Pidge, unlike Keith and Lance, isn’t really on his sibling-wavelength. Hunk kinda sees her as his partner in crime. His fellow evil genius. He insists that since they pilot a giant robot together through the power of their minds they’re drift compatible. She’s basically his platonic life partner.

(7.) Lance gets kinda jealous of Pidge unintentionally stealing his best friend, until Hunk reminds him they’re brothers. Then Lance holds that over Pidge’s head (sometimes literally) like, ha, you’re not sibling material. Her response basically sums up to, listen my one sibling experience was objectively terrible, I don’t need another one. But he’s MY terrible, so I have to go get him back.

(8.) Despite having been ON a cooking show, Hunk can’t watch cooking shows anymore. He gets sympathetic nerves. He questions every decision they make. He once LITERALLY TORE HIS HAIR OUT over their bad decisions, like, WHY would you DO THAT, ugh. It’s like hardcore sports fans watching the game on tv. There’s screaming and judging and groaning and cheering. It is An Experience to witness.

(9.) He loves Kaltenecker, really. Hunk is a kind and gentle soul who is good to animals. But he’s SO TIRED of space goo that sometimes he just stares at the cow… thinking of all the food he could make from the cow… Burgers, obv. But French dip sandwiches. Meatloaf. Tri-tip. Beef stroganoff. Ribs, he would die for honey-bbq ribs. And he knows he’d need not just a dead cow but also a bunch of other earth ingredients for this stuff, but a man can DREAM, OKAY??

(10.) His favorite NASA robot is the Opportunity. Hunk is embarrassingly parentally proud of this determined little robot. First teenager in space. He calls her Oppy, and tbh he did not want to be a flight crew engineer. His scores were too good so they pressured him onto that track, Hunk really wanted to help design the ships and the rovers. Just let him play with electronics all day, stop making him ride the terrible zero-g sims.

(11.) Hunk can fly the Green lion in an emergency, and he feels really honored about it. Like, he loves Yellow, Yellow is the best, he would not trade his lion for Green. But he likes knowing he can pilot two lions, and Green is so salty and blunt that being in her head is almost like hanging out with Pidge. But it only ever happens when Pidge is unable to pilot her own lion, usually on stealth missions gone wrong, so it comes with some bad associations. Hunk’s never had time to just sit and enjoy it; always gogogo, run, gotta get Pidge to a healing pod, gotta help the others. Pidge can’t pilot Yellow, but very very rarely Lance can. Pidge can pilot Red sometimes, though. She has a lot of rage and rebelliousness packed into a very tiny body. It’s heavily concentrated. Hunk knows this, and wishes that she and Lance had at least one iota of chill between them. They do not.

alright so i’m waiting for the update to download, just like every other time i’ve tried to open the sims, but once it does i’m going to start a new household in the dr file for the second game characters Because the pets pack has hamsters now and you know what that means
