I hella need to finish ff12 one day (I’m just STUCK one one fight , the gameplay pains me a lot-) but yo I can see this?? I remember liking Ashe’s character a lot, Lightning acting as some sort of guardian for her would lead to an interesting dynamic. Ashe isn’t a damsel, she can fight, fend for herself, but Lightning, since she’s Ashe’s guardian, would always try to take the reigns of a fight first so Ashe won’t have to.

It leads to conflict between them, and eventually Lightning would bite off more she can chew, which leads to Ashe saving her, Lightning realizing Ashe can hold her own, so it’s not “Lightning protecting Ashe” anymore, but it’s not “Ashe protecting Lightning” either. They’re going to protect each other.

Which leads them to growing closer, into smth more than a princess and her guardian, smth closer than friends even,,,
