I designed this pattern and I hate myself for it. Half of the time spent on this hat was three rows that had to keep being undone because I kept fucking up the pattern. Then a friend went and said they looked like bannanas just for the bit -_-#
I heavily admire people who create many of their own patterns because this shit is hard. I just wanted to make a duck hat for my partner but no pattern looked like something I'd want to make. So here I am......... In total this took me around 2 months (in reality more like 27ish hours). And see the issue is I saw where I could improve some things and where I need to adjust the pattern. But I'll never make this again (for now).
It's funny because I'm like maybe I could sell one? Not entirely as a side hustle but more because roughly a third of my earthly possessions is yarn and I'm moving in 2 months. Soooo yeah.
But my partner who knows knitting and how long this took me plus the frustration was like no. It's not worth it. Because the price for which you'd sell it is way less then what you should sell it for (plus I didn't enjoy the experience)
One long winded rant later but fuck those people who don't do fiber arts who say to consider selling your stuff. The love time and frustration this takes is not worth the $20 you want to pay me for it
Okay SOOO i am tentatively soft launching my website for my handmade stuff!!!! I’m so excited and nervous!!!! There’s only a few things listed so far but I’m gonna be adding more like jewelry and ear warmers and maybe even amigurumi plushies. The site is a wip still but I’m impatient and want validation so I’m posting it early 🤪🫶🏻 if anyone has any feedback im totally open to it !!! Ty guys for all being so sweet to me about my crafts so far 🥺
playing neopets again. finally used my last pet slot to make a faerie ixi, which was one of my dream pets as a kid 💜 she ended up with a big flower theme
thinkin bout that "too many hats in game design" post.
I love to collaborate. most of my game design career has been collaborative. the problem is everyone's a game designer, and far fewer people are layout artists and editors and marketers and the like (in my experience). and at a certain point of collaboration, if you're the only one with a certain skillset, you ONLY get to use that skillset and there's no time for anything else.
not sure where I'm going with this except that I've been thinking about how much I love layout design but how I also don't love it enough to give up the part of game design that is actually designing the games.
Crossposting what I just shared to Insta bc I am insanely stupid proud of these useless little things. Luxury stim toys engineered in a lab! By me!! These are all completely functional, hand-sculpted mushroom shakers made from tiny glass bottles, polymer clay, and UV resin, each one is OOAK.
the first ones I made were for me and Bel, and we wear them on beaded necklaces, which I also made. That's kind of how I see most of these ending up, though i will sell a few without/at a lower price point bc the beading takes it up another notch. Anyway, they've been holding up really well. I had one or two that I dropped and chipped the resin "water droplets" on, but i am NOT gentle on my jewelry and these have been standing the test of time for almost a year of very frequent/almost daily handling so far!!!
Coming soon: mushroom shaker asmr, I usually add music bc the videos are edited but the chka-chka and clackety-clack and tinkly bead sounds these produce are 👌 top tier
WHO! will go to crawford county fair with me either friday night or saturday . none of you live here so obviously nobody but if you did you'd go to the crawford county fair . right?
I'm still rotating in my mind the idea of selling stuff I make but well. I do a lot of different stuff through different fiber crafts and I have no idea if it would help or not to have so much stuff instead of one precise direction
Zoro going against Mihawk out of nowhere and Luffy going against Zeff out of nowhere— I just know the old generation was doomed right then because Luffy and Zoro can have all the respect in the world or none of it and it wouldn't matter, they would tear through anything in their way even if they only had pirate baby teeth.
And the "is enstars queerbait or not" is such a bizarre question. Obviously trap for you is bait, thats the thing i see people point out whenever this argument breaks out (can u tell i was on twt today. Dreadful place, would not recommend). But you cant look at me and say wataei is the same as hiyojun kissing in a mv. Eichi and Wataru being gay is not even subtext, it's just in the text. I don't know how you'd interpret the story without them being in love, like, genuinely. It wasnt done by accident either. You could argue about izuleo too but I don't have much expertise on them so i leave the mic to whoever is more well read in knights stories. I'm sorry if it's not the gay rep you want, but it's here.
watching the last 10 eps of mlc with the novel still rattling around in your head is truly just an extended experience in alternating between *chinhands* and (overwhelmingly) *head in hands*
