BIOGRAPHY.

Ernst Zandvliet might not be a familiar name. No surprise there, as it hasn’t been spoken aloud in almost three decades. The man long ago named Ernst might be more familiar to you as August Finley, Conservative party leader and Prime Minister of the UK. The name Finley comes from his mother Birgitte, a low-ranking noblewoman who married entrepreneur and inventor Maximilian Zandvliet in 1973. August, on the other hand, is the name of his maternal great-grandfather who died during the first world war. August Finley sure is less of a mouthful than Ernst Zandvliet, his birth name and burden for the first eighteen years of his life. The family was in agreement that he should change his name to something more easily digestible, considering his future career in public service. And so, August Finley was born, and Ernst Zandvliet was buried beneath stacks of bureaucratic paperwork, as if he never existed to begin with.

After three years of military service, and one half-arsed tour to an active war zone, young Mr. Finley, at the age of twenty-one, took to studying philosophy, politics and economics at Oxford. Paid for by his parents, he had no pressure of keeping good grades, or even passing all his exams. Come graduation, he was already promised an internship position within one of the ministries, thanks to his mother’s connections. So, his time in school was spent mostly drinking, partying and hooking up. At Oxford, he also met his future wife, twelve years his junior. Though, this was of course later in life, when he attended a yearly alumni celebration and ran into Meagan, who immediately caught his eye. And who was immediately and easily impressed by his grand plans to run the country.

A house, a white picket fence, a kid, and a dog later, August barely resembles his young ruckus self. A dignified, honorable family man is the image he’s built— one his wife is just as eager to boast. Dignified conservative. Prime Minister. He is the perfect image of a working father, and a father to a nation restless with political unease. Winston Churchill can eat his heart out.

The lights on the third floor are on at odd hours at no. 10 Downing Street. Unremarkable cars shuttle back and forth throughout the nights, people run in through the back at odd hours of the day. Still, the media take their photos of the PM on his brisk morning jog before work. As if the rumours of his nightly habits are simply preposterous— as if he is the perfect family man, spending time at home with his wife and dog. Often times she doesn’t even wait up for him anymore, his side of the bed going cold more often than not, his morning coffee brewed just a bit too bitter, just for him.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A vote by the Republican-controlled Wisconsin Senate last month to fire the state's nonpartisan top elections official had no legal effect, and lawmakers are barred from ousting her while a lawsuit plays out, a Dane County judge ruled on Friday.Administrator Meagan Wolfe will continue serving as head of the Wisconsin Elections Commission pending a decision on whether elections commissioners are legally required to appoint someone for the Senate to confirm, Judge Ann Peacock said.Senate Republicans voted in September to fire Wolfe, despite objections from Democrats and the Legislature's own nonpartisan attorneys, who said the Senate didn't have the authority to vote at that time.Democratic Attorney General Josh Kaul sued to challenge that vote, and in court filings earlier this month, Republican legislative leaders changed course and claimed their vote to fire Wolfe was merely “symbolic” and had no legal effect. They also asked Peacock to order the elections commission to appoint an administrator for the Senate to vote on.“This injunction provides needed certainty and should resolve any confusion resulting from the Legislature’s actions,” Kaul said in a statement.An attorney representing GOP legislative leaders in the lawsuit did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment on Friday.The bipartisan elections commission deadlocked in June on a vote to reappoint Wolfe. The three Republican commissioners voted in favor, but the three Democrats abstained to block the nomination from going before the Senate. Actions by the commission require a four-vote majority.GOP lawmakers have accused the Democratic elections commissioners of neglecting their duty by not voting, and the Senate retaliated by rejecting confirmation for Democratic Commissioner Joseph Czarnezki this month, effectively firing him. One expert said Republicans are using "extreme tactics" like the Senate vote and threats of impeaching a state Supreme Court justice "to subvert fair elections and maintain anti-democratic grip on power."

Democratic Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul on Thursday swiftly filed a lawsuit after Republican senators attempted to oust the state's top election official, Meagan Wolfe, despite arguments that they lacked authority to do so.

The Wisconsin Senate's 22-11 party-line vote on Wolfe was "a bid to give election deniers and conspiracy theorists more control over how elections are run in the state," explainedMother Jones national voting rights correspondent Ari Berman.

"That follows threats by Republican legislative leaders to impeach newly elected state Supreme Court Justice Janet Protasiewicz before she has even ruled on a case," he added, "so that the court's new 4-3 liberal majority will be unable to strike down the heavily gerrymandered maps that have been integral to the GOP's stranglehold over the Legislature for the past decade-and-a-half."

Wolfe began serving as interim administrator of the Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) in early 2018 and was unanimously confirmed by the state Senate the following year. As Politicoreported Thursday:

Wolfe's position is a nonpartisan, nonvoting one tasked with implementing the decisions made by the three Democratic and three Republican commissioners. As the head of the commission, Wolfe has been the target of GOP attacks following the 2020 presidential election, when President Joe Biden narrowly beat former President Donald Trump in the state. Wolfe has garnered vitriol from Republicans who amplified Trump's false claims about widespread fraud in the election.

The administrator's term expired on July 1, but the WEC's three Democrats abstained from voting to renominate Wolfe because they feared GOP senators would refuse to confirm her and, as Kaul highlighted last month, "the Wisconsin Supreme Court has squarely held that a holdover appointee may legally remain in office following the expiration of the term."

GOP legislators—led by Senate Majority Leader (R-9) Devin LeMahieu—went ahead with the vote on Thursday even though "the Republicans' own lawyers, as well as the state's Democratic attorney general, told the senators before the vote that they didn't have the authority to remove Meagan Wolfe," according toThe Washington Post.

"Wisconsin Republicans' attempt to illegally fire Wisconsin's elections administrator without cause today shows they are continuing to escalate efforts to sow distrust and disinformation about our elections, denigrate our clerks, poll workers, and election administrators, and undermine basic tenets of our democracy, including the peaceful transfer of power," declared Democratic Gov. Tony Evers.

Referencing a "bogus" bill unveiled earlier this week by GOP leaders, the governor said that "just days after Republicans announced they want Legislature-picked, Legislature-approved map drawers to conduct redistricting, Republicans today demonstrated why they cannot be trusted with that important responsibility—because they will threaten, intimidate, punish, and even attempt to illegally fire anyone who stands in the way of their relentless pursuit to retain political power."

"Our chief election administrator is a consummate, qualified professional who's worked in voter registration and outreach and election security for more than a decade—experience that I have no doubt was among the reasons she was unanimously confirmed by many of these same Republicans just a few years ago," he added. "I'm requesting the Wisconsin Department of Justice provide immediate representation to defend Ms. Wolfe so she can remain in this important role."

The Wisconsin attorney general, who filed a complaint in Dane County Circuit Court, said that "the story today is not what the Senate has purported to do with its vote. It's that the Senate has blatantly disregarded state law in order to put its full stamp of approval on the ongoing baseless attacks on our democracy."

"We are going to court to minimize the confusion resulting from today's stunt," Kaul continued, "and to protect a pillar of our democracy—the fair administration of elections."

The Cap Timesreported that "there is no formal appeals process for Wolfe to tap in order to push back against her ousting, according to the Wisconsin Legislative Council, a nonpartisan agency that provides legal and policy analysis for the Legislature. That leaves a lawsuit as her only option."

Wolfe welcomed the lawsuit and confirmed that she will continue to serve as administrator unless a majority of the WEC or a court orders her out. She said that "the Senate's vote today to remove me is not a referendum on the job I do but rather a reaction to not achieving the political outcome they desire."

The controversy comes as the state prepares for next year's elections. At the presidential level, Biden is seeking reelection and Trump is currently the GOP front-runner, despite facing four criminal cases—including two related to his efforts to overturn the 2020 results—and arguments that inciting the January 6, 2021 insurrection constitutionally disqualifies him from holding office.

"I think it's really worrisome because we're in the final stages of preparation for the 2024 elections," Barry Burden, a political scientist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and director of its Elections Research Center, told the Post. "The elections commission is training clerks around the state and issuing guidance, so to have uncertainty about who the top administrator is going into this crucial election season, I think is a real problem."

Three miles yesterday, and four today (focused on consistently running and pace today) ended with a blister from new shoes and a lot of sweat but it was beautiful out both days. I’m so glad I got a weekend where the weather held up both days and I wasn’t so busy I couldn’t go out and do anything.

31.October.2020-HELLOWEEN ENDS IT ALL

How should I start? Or if I have to say it right, how do I should I end it? (Spoiler: this post will be a little bit longer than we are all used to by me. So if you are willed to read all of my stuff, maybe you should grab a cup of tea or coffee and make yourself comfortable. I mean, if you have the possibility to do that, in the end, it's just a recommendation.) October 2020 was a beautiful month for me. I read more than usual, learned a lot about myself, found joy in things I didn't know about. Good news first: I finished "These Broken Stars". I liked it much more than I expected. I will definitely continue with the series. Not so good news: I still haven't succeeded in my personal challenge to read three books this month. ( mangas not included, unfortunately) But it doesn't border me that much. I'm really happy with myself. Just so you have a quick "overview" I've read two books this month. "The Name of the Wind" by Patrick Rothfuss and "These Broken Stars" by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner. (What a surprise, right?) I liked both books a lot and I will post a review of "The Name of the Wind" hopefully soon. This book was a lot for me. And I have A LOT to share about my thoughts. Just if you're curious. I read a lot of mangas this month. But if you followed this "diary" you know what I mean. I read all published works by Kaori Ozaki and I just love her stories. You should give it a try. I was so teary at the end of every single one of her mangas. I'm a softie. So what comes next? I don't really know. Will there be a reading diary this month? Probably not. Maybe you heard something about NANOWRIMO. If not, just google it, but anyway, I will participate this year again and that means I will not have a lot of time to read. I will still post things on this blog, don't worry about that, but not every day. Which kinda sucks. I made a lot of good relationships because of this project. You have no idea how happy it makes me talking with you about books and stuff like that. I feel much more understood. Btw I also created a group chat, which I named after me, so if you want to join us, feel free to do that. ( group chats are only available for the Tumblr app!) But as I said, I will still post and repost things here. Will I try out my not-existing-skills in book photography? Ahm, yes. I don't know when but I will try it out again and hopefully get better. It's kinda fun. So we will see. Do you like Helloween? We don't celebrate it where I live but I like the atmosphere of it. Kinda spooky, but still there are all these warm colors. Another aspect of fall which I love. Today I had a great day, which I spend with my family outside. We took a little walk into the woods and our two dogs were completely freaking out because it's so rare that all of us taking them out. After that, I played a lot of chess with my brother and I haven't won once. This little *******! So one of my new life goals is to finally beat him in chess. And then I read the last 150 pages of "These Broken Stars". I also baked a braided yeast bread, which is a big tradition where I came from. It turned out really good. I made two, one with raisins, one without. My dad and grandma love raisins, the rest of the family...not really. Which team are you? But while baking the bread I realized how happy I become in the last weeks. I feel so calm and relaxed. I really detoxed myself a bit. And yeah, it was a process, which definitely hasn't ended yet. But I'm willed to continue this path. Take small steps towards your goal. Learn while walking how to run and discover all these corners in yourself. (does that make any sense? IDK) Life is such a huge journey and books help me to experience it with so much more joy, happiness, and peace, that I'm almost surprised. I love it when someone tells me a story and I hope one day someone wants to hear mine. I had some downs this month and they will come from time to time again. That's normal, but I think, I figured out how to handle them. Kinda. The taste of life can be so sweet and bitter at the same time, isn't that funny? However, with this post, I'll say goodbye to October 2020 and this public diary which is very precious to me. Thanks to everyone who discussed different topics with me.  To everyone who liked my stuff or even reposted it. Thanks to you who are reading these lines. I want you to know, how wonderful you are. Not because you are reading my blog or you have the same opinion as me. You are wonderful because you are alive. Remember that with every breath you take and do what brings you joy (without hurting other people). Thank you for listening to my confusing thoughts. I feel honored. We'll see each other soon. It Came Out of the Sky!

Oh, it came out of the sky, landed just a little south of Moline /

Well, a crowd gathered 'round and a scientist said it was marsh gas...

Uhm.. And by that Creedence Clearwater Revival reference I mean: The Other Side of the Sky by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner!

Nimh lives on the surface of a flooded world full of ruins of an ancient, long dead civilization. Long ago, all but one of the gods fled the surface in favor of the sky. The living god who remained behind is fated to save the people of the surface...eventually. 

Eventually.

Nimh - full name Nimhara - is the 42nd incarnation of the Divine One, aka the living god. She’s basically the Dalai Lama, if the Dalai Lama was allowed to be reincarnated in any gender. But being worshiped by the people as a living goddess has it’s downsides: Nimh is forbidden from touching anyone, ever. Seriously, ever.

The who “no touching anyone, ever” thing is pretty intense. She even has to provide herself with her own medical care! God forbid she ever need to remove her own appendix. Or: what happens if she falls, cracks her skull and renders herself unconscious? How can she give herself medical care if she’s out of it? Magic? I mean, maybe. Nimh’s world definitely has magic. Nimh, being Divine, should have manifested some magical aspect soon after becoming the goddess - her predecessor, the 41st incarnation, had a talent for healing magic. Unfortunately, it’s been 10 years since Nimh was called to be the Divine One, and she’s shown no sign of manifesting her aspect. And people are beginning to talk: there’s a whole group, known as the Graycloaks for their chosen color, who believe that Nimh isn’t even the Divine One and have made it their mission to remove her from power. So she’s got enemies on one side, and the massive weight of people’s expectations on the other - if she’s an incarnation of the divine, then surely she must be able to do something to help her people? Perhaps something to stop the roving clouds of rogue magic called mist that go around wreaking havoc? 

Nimh wants to prove herself. She wants to help people. But mostly she’s lonely as hell and just wants a hug. Which she can’t have because of the whole “no touching the divine” thing. Just to reiterate: 

The only other living being Nimh can touch is the bindle cat - a giant orange floof whom she rescued as a kitten. The bindle cat doesn’t have a name - he’s just the bindle cat because, according to Nimh “You do not name a cat. He is a cat; he keeps his name to himself.”  True story.

Anyway, the bindle cat is Nimh’s best friend, constant companion and literally everyone’s favorite character in the whole book. 

Anyway! When we first meet Nimh, she’s sneaking out under the nose of the high priest Daoman to go on a secret pilgrimage that she hopes will help manifest her aspect. Only just as she’s about to leave, she sees a light falling from the sky and chases after it...

North is a prince of Alciel, a technologically advanced kingdom in the sky. His ancestors fled the world below ages ago, and now, the people in the clouds are convinced the surface is dead, incapable of supporting life. The people of Alciel live in a world with all sorts of fun tech, like Apple watches - uhm, I mean, chronos - fancy trains, airplanes, DNA locks on doors...honestly, Alciel seems pretty great. Only there’s one problem: the archipelago of sky islands that comprise Alciel seem to be sinking. It’s been so long since the people of Alciel have fled to the sky that people don’t really remember or understand what exactly makes their sky islands stay, well, in the sky. While the adults around him engage in sinking denialism, North is convinced the only way to save themselves is to put together an expedition to the surface. After all, they came from the surface thousands of years ago - maybe the answer to keeping themselves afloat is down there? Everyone dismisses North’s idea - the surface is uninhabitable, there’s no way to get down there and back again, blah blah blah. But North has a solution - he and his friends built their own plane. 

Sounds legit.

This, of course, doesn’t impress the adults, especially North’s moms who are both like “absolutely not” because seriously, no way are they letting their son, the kingdom’s sole heir, fly around in something he built and possibly get himself killed. They tell him to destroy the plane and forget about the whole thing. 

And North, being a good son, obeyed his mothers’ demand, decommissioned his plane and lived happily ever after. The end.

Pfft, no. North, being a teenager, decides that he will prove to everyone that it’s possible to fly to and from the surface by flying his experimental plane around. Because a teenager flying around a plane he and his friends built sounds super safe and will definitely end well.

It does not end well. But not because North isn’t good at plane building - he’s actually great at it, but as he’s flying, his plane catches fire, which is never a good sign. North had only intended to fly around Alciel, just to show off that he could, but now he’s heading toward the surface much faster than he’d planned.

Meanwhile, on the surface, Nimh sees a star falling from the sky and, thinking its the sign she’s been waiting for, decides to chase it. It lands in a salt flat rendered reflective by a couple of inches of water (think Salar de Uyuni - this whole segment has some fantastic, Ghibli-esque imagery). Only, it’s not a falling star - it’s a person. 

North emerges, somewhat unscathed, from the wreckage of his plane and realizes what happened - someone has deliberately cut through his supply lines. Someone wanted him to crash. Now he’s stuck on the surface and his Apple watch has no signal. He has no way to get home or any way to let his family and friends know that he’s still alive. 

But, lucky for him, after fighting off some wild boars, he meets a strange girl called Nimh, who offers to help him by taking him back to her temple in the city. North’s mind is pretty much blown: not only are there people on the surface, they have cities. They have religion. It’s the opposite of everything he’s ever been taught. Nimh’s a bit odd, but as she’s nice enough, North follows her anyway...

Nimh, meanwhile, is ecstatic:  she thinks North may be part of a larger prophecy that will help save the world. He came from the sky, after all, where the gods live. And - bonus! - he has no idea who she is. He looks at her and doesn’t see a goddess who can never, ever, ever, ever be touched, he just sees another person, something Nimh has never experienced. 

Only once Nimh and North get back to Nimh’s camp, they find that all her friends have been murdered. North is like “what the -?” and Nimh is all “uh, yeah we should probably run for it” and thus begins the whole adventure that makes up The Other Side of the Sky and holy crap, I absolutely love it. I love everything about it - the Ghibli-esque imagery, the romance, the adventure, the kitty sidekick. Oh God the kitty sidekick! Apparently, North’s kingdom in the sky doesn’t have cats. He’s never seen a cat before. HE DOESN’T KNOW WHAT A CAT IS, PEOPLE, THIS IS NOT A DRILL. 

He should watch The Cat Returns. 

Anyway, The Other Side of the Sky is gorgeous, impossible to stop reading, romantic, exciting and addictive as hell. Like a Ghibli movie, this book was exactly the sort of thing I needed to forget the outside world for a little while. It’s easy to picture the whole story as an anime. Just picture North and Nimh as Pazu and Sheeta from Castle in the Sky! It works, I swear. 

Sometimes we need the beautiful pastels of a Ghibli movie to warm our hearts when everything is terrible. The Other Side of the Sky is the book equivalent of one of those movies. The only downside is that it’s the first book in a series, and it ends on a cliffhanger that can and will make it feel as though your heart has been removed from your body. Or that you’ve been turned into a cat and are now being forced by a crazed Tim Curry-voiced cat king to marry the cat prince. Something like that. Either way, I will be waiting as patiently as I possibly can for the sequel. 

Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? Meow. Meow. Meeeowwwwww. Pay attention to meeeee.

RECOMMENDED FOR: Anyone in need of the book-equivalent of a Hayao Miyazaki movie that’s also the first book in a series; anyone fond of an exciting, action-packed YA romance.

NOT RECOMMENDED FOR: People who have something against fun, joy, or cats; anyone who doesn’t like YA (seriously, why read YA if you don’t like it?) anyone who thinks Studio Ghibli movies are just for children (watch Grave of the Fireflies, and tell me with a straight face that it’s a kids movie. Children should NOT watch that movie!)

Intro into my dreams 1

hello, in the absence of writing poetry, ive decided that I would finally on this blog talk like myself, not simply either wallow in my artistic persona, or be on the run with it. 

I'm not working today, so I had the opportunity to continue my sleeping, as I'm writing this, its 11.15 am, Wednesday 10/07/2020. 

The Dream. 

this dream, started in some sort of near sunset evening, area of what I can only say is versions of my hometown Long Beach California, at different points in its history over the past 30 years, the fact that I'm 28, and have been alive on earth for almost 3 decades isn’t lost on me. anyhow, the dream starts with this sort of Ariel view of the architecture of downtown, and the lighting every dark in hue with pink and oranges, and it shows me with a few of my friends, this is the part where I now actively am taking part in the conversation, and one of my friends reveals, that some shit has gone wrong, and we’ve collectively as a group have run afoul of some sort of Organized Crime Figure, but its only implied, when I ask who it is, no one gives me an answer, so we all decide to pair off, and I'm left with one of my friends, who in actual reality, ive suspected is Gay, so he and I are walking around, and he starts telling me different things, that causing the archetitcuture to change around us, but I feel that I can’t leave him, because he’s going to get hurt, although im starting to feel I can’t trust him, when all of a sudden some of our enemies, start to pursue and we end up splitting up, agreeing to meet at this house, which also turns out to be pink and orange colored, 

so I meet up with him, and everyone else at that house, and everyone is talking, and he’s acting very sort of dismissive of me, kinda disrespecting me, as are some of our friends, and its making me feel kinda hurt, but I just ignore it, and I walk into the house to find this woman, now this woman is a woman in real life who ive been talking to frequently of late, her and I have been friends for some time, we’re of the same race, but lately there’s been an attraction, one in which feels, great, anyway so im talking to her, sitting next to her, and things become sort of Sexual, but sexual in that all these pent up feelings, towards her, towards her body are manifesting in a tremendous amorous passion, of which has always been in me, but of late in real life can’t find any expression, so we’re kissing, but also rubbing our foreheads against each other, and I tell her I want to go down on her, and so she lays down, and as I begin to kiss her, kiss different portions of her body, she literally turns into a Lego toy, by the time I get to her vagina, and as I was bout to taste her vagina, which mind you at this point is a lego toy, I start crying, and then all of those friends enter into the room, and ask me what’s wrong, with just this off feeling in the air, and I look down at my iPhone, and its a text from Meagan, her name in real life is Meagan, sorry Meg to put your name out there like that, especially on Tumblr, but seeing as you don’t have a Tumblr to my knowledge im ok LOL, anyway so I look down at my phone and its a text from her, that read 

“Babe why did you start Socially Crying ?” 

and that’s when I woke up. any person that reads this, id appreciate it if you tell me your thoughts on what this dream means, because its left me completely dumbfounded.

Virtual MCM 45 today. It was ugly and hurt in unexpected ways and was so much slower than I had planned.

But we finished with no crowd support (Nick met us at mile 8 and we had snacks in the car at mile 18), I walked the entire last 8 miles with an IT band injury, and we both finished. I’ve never been so happy to be done with a race. Special shout-out to @littlebean-jellybean89 for being my cheerleader and letting me cry at her from 500 miles away when mile 15 was killing me. ❤️

I think this might be the end of marathons for me. I just can’t make it through a training cycle without a laundry list of injuries (post-tib tendinitis, possible stress fracture in my foot/ankle, IT band strain that makes it feel like my hip is grinding in its socket and I can’t bend my left knee at all) and I want to be able to keep running in my life. So. 🤷🏻‍♀️

But overall this is a hard but happy day! I am so so thrilled to be done.

Today is the 8th day of August welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I’m Brian it is great to be here with you and welcome to the end of the week. Another one of our weeks is quickly becoming a part of our history as…as is prone to happen when you’re day by day, step-by-step moving forward on the journey that we’re on. So, today's the last day of the week. We’ve been reading from the Christian Standard Bible all this week, which is what we'll do today. And we’ll continue our journey in these new books that…a book and letter that we've gotten ourselves involved in with this week, the book of Ezra and the letter to the Corinthians, known as first Corinthians. So, Ezra chapter 7 verse 1 through 8:20

Prayer:

Father, we thank You for Your word, we thank You for another week together in Your word. And often we reach this point where we’ve concluded another week and we just release it week, we release the week to You. It's a part of our past. It's a part of our history. And yet what we carry forward is Your guidance and leadership and direction that comes from Your word. We carry those things forward cumulatively, week after week after week after week. We carry these things forward and they go deep inside of us and they…they plant a crop. And we ask Holy Spirit that You come and yield the fruit of the spirit in our lives because of this. And every week we recognize that an ending is a new beginning and that You are there present with us in it all. And, so, we release this week to You and we invite Your Holy Spirit to lead us forward in the name of Jesus, we ask. Amen.

Currently I am engaged to a man that I love with all my heart but I know that I am in sin and I know that living with him outside of marriage is sin and I don’t want to do that anymore and I want to have the courage and the strength that it takes to tell him that I need space and we need to get counseling first before we get married. And the quarantine is a perfect time for us to postpone because everybody else is expecting it. But I don’t have the guts on my own or the strength of my own ability to just be honest with him and not crumble when he manipulates my words and says, “why do we need counseling, what’s it gonna do?” I need help and I can’t do it alone and no matter how hard I try I constantly feel like I am swimming in the deepest waters by myself. And I don’t know what to do because if I do this then I have no home, no car, and a job that’s miles away from my original home and I don’t want to be stranded just because I want to follow God. Good morning family it is 3 o’clock in the morning on August 5th this is Brave from New Jersey I’m calling you because I’m…I’m tried and been calling on the Lord from Psalm 35 all night long asking Him to show up and to defend me against numerous attacks from the enemy. My children cannot be grateful for anything that I’ve done for them. They have no respect for me, and they are following the wrong leadership from their father, persecuting me for no reason. And I pray that the Lord will come through for me according to Psalm 35 and defend me as He as promised. I am only looking up to Him because I don’t know what peace will look like. I don’t know what respect. But only the deliverance of the Lord. So please family pray for me. In Jesus…

Hi DAB family this is Gigi from Gainesville I called in yesterday asking for prayer regarding my health seizures and having to sleep all day because of them…headaches. Praise God! I woke up at 5 AM this morning and I just felt led to worship Him and one hour later I’m outside running 2 miles. All pain is gone, all headache, fatigue. In the name of Jesus, I’ve been set free. By his blood by his power I’ve overcome. Thank you for your prayers. I am rejoicing. God’s promises are true and faithful, and we can trust in Him. I have a prayer request for my sister. She’s dealing with acute loneliness because our father was her biggest friend and he died just a month ago and she wasn’t repaired at all for his death. She’s been very much in denial and she doesn’t make friends easily. Also, her job is incredibly intense right now. They have her floating to different floors. And, so, she…she’s dealing with a lot of overwhelming sadness and great pain. So, if you guys could be praying for her and my other sister who’s turning to her first job as a teacher. She’s got her bachelor’s in early childhood education and I’m so proud of her, but she really needs to get a job. It’s getting close, so. Thank you, guys so much. Power and prayer is amazing God hears us.

Hi everyone, I’ve had these thoughts for a while, and I’ve been thinking about this time that we’ve been in and I feel like it’s the wilderness. A lot of us have been launched into wilderness in this strange limbo time applying to jobs or losing jobs or not knowing what’s gonna happen. And I think this is a great opportunity to see, “what are we doing right now?” Are we praising God or are we grumbling and complaining and crying where our food is gonna come from? And if we are getting food, are we crying about what kind of food we are getting? Now is a really good opportunity if you are in the wilderness to see if I am doing what the Israelites did or, am I just trusting in the Lord? And I know it’s hard. I mean, I kinda was in the situation where my master’s was ending, and I was looking for a job and searching for a job during a pandemic is definitely a scary thing. But you know what? I had faith in God and that if He could split oceans, He could send me multiple job options during a pandemic and that’s what He did. He did that for me, and it took…was months of insecurity before that happened. But I just want you to think about what you are doing now and remember to stay in faith and your promised land is not that far away. That’s all. Bye.

Hi DAB family this is Sierra from Arizona. I’m calling for couple different reasons. I wanted to pray for the woman who called in, she said that her daughter was molested by a couple family members. I want to pray for her. I know what that’s like because I’ve been there, and I just want to say that she probably needs you and she’ll be needing you for a long time. So, I wanted to pray for you and just…I hope that everything works out. The other reason I’m calling is because I need prayer. I am in a fight against addiction. I’m still a teenager and I know this is sort of normal because a teenage girl but I’m in addiction to all sexual things. So, I in the past have had problems, major problems, with that and I’ve done things and have had things done to me that have helped in my addiction and I’ve been in this fight for a very, very long time. I’ve never entirely been away from it and I’m doing my best not to give in but it’s really, really hard. I’ve failed in the past and I’m really afraid that I’ll fail again and I hate it and I hate that I love it and I need your prayers because I don’t ever want to travel that road again because that road hurt and it’s not bad…it’s not good. And anyway, I just need your prayer …

Just know that God’s got this, and He is gonna hold you through this and just cradle you and protect you. So, just hang in there. He created you with purpose and He will reveal that to you. Batwoman is moving forward at The CW.

Batwoman, which stars Orange Is the New Black grad Ruby Rose as out lesbian and highly trained street fighter Kate Kane/Batwoman, becomes the first live-action scripted drama series with a lesbian superhero (played by an out actress) at the top of the call sheet. Caroline Dries (The Vampire Diaries) penned the script and will serve as showrunner on the Warner Bros. TV drama. Berlanti Productions topper Sarah Schechter and Geoff Johns will exec produce alongside Berlanti. Marcos Siega (The Following) replaced David Nutter as director on the pilot. Both will also exec produce the Vancouver-shot drama. Dougray Scott, Elizabeth Anweis, Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson, Nicole Kang and Rachel Skarsten round out the cast.

The order for Batwoman arrives as The CW is plotting the "next generation" of DC shows as flagship Arrow will end its run with an abbreviated 10-episode eighth and final season.
