aburii, ttdi.
went to this yakiniku + sushi place with friends couple weeks back with friends, pick the place because it looks interesting with wagyu yakiniku and sushi omakase, anyway, we decided to try to grill meat as not all of us take raw food.
for six people, we ordered the the shinjuku premium wagyu beef combo which has five different meat - japan a5 marukawa, japan a5 chuck ribeye, japan a5 tomo sankaku, japan a5 zabuton and beef tongue. it also comes with a raw egg for dipping. we ordered ala carte portions - japan a5 kata rosu, japan a5 kamenoko, and japan a5 shin shin as well. for starters, we went with foie gras unagi tempura and aburii signature salad to share.
the meat is served in a really nice way, food presentation does increase the appetite. grilled is by our own and pretty straight forward. the meat smells awesome while being cooked. the starters are nice to add on between enjoying the meat. different part of the meat does give a different sensation overall, personally prefer the more balanced cuts like ribeye and sankaku, just love that melts in your mouth feeling and the rich flavor.
it was my friends’ treat for me for my birthday, so the dinner is enjoyable and satisfying, believe everyone did enjoy the food as well. meat lovers would definitely love this place with the selection of cuts they offer.

i can’t stop thinking about this customer yesterday, who came into the shop and looked at the new smoothie bowls we offer, and then his eyes zeroed in on the “vegan bowl” and he went “oh, no, no, nope! i’m a man! i need meat with every meal i eat!”
and i don’t know if it was because it was 6:55 in the morning, or because it’s pride and my pronouns are a very tired of humanity he/they, or maybe because it’s 2022 and that kind of joke is just cringe, but i looked him straight in the eye and deadpanned, “so, does that mean you don’t want the fruity pebble donut with a vanilla cream filling? since there’s no meat?”
