Regulus likes to write with his headphones on, noise cancellation on, no music. when he does listen to music, it's with a really crusty old pair of wired headphones (i'm projecting) because the stores don't sell wired ones anymore and he refuses to buy airpods.
Pandora listens to the last thing you would've ever expected upon looking at her, some sort of aggressive instrumental hiphop, Phonk Walker or something like that. She always manages to hum along anyway.
Barty listens to crappy pop music with zero shame, blasted on his massive ass sticker-covered soundbox whenever they're cleaning the dorm. The more you complain the worse it gets. (also, number one britney spears fan). got into måneskin before eurovision and never misses an excuse to rub it in dorcas' face.
Evan listens to classical music, volume high enough for it to be outright absurd. he knows too much about the artist and WILL infodump morbid stories about them when it's least expected. will get into the wildest shit, running from the police with ridiculously loud classical playing in his headphones and barty grinning and panting next to him (they're sharing the music, barty has Zero clue what they're listening to but he shamelessly pretends he does)
Dorcas is a pop/softrock girlie and gives the Best music recs. she will FIGHT for that music control on a roadtrip (and win, she's the only one who can get a hold of barty lol). she likes tina turner and some whitney houston and fleetwood mac. discovered måneskin via eurovision and is so unbothered by barty teasing her for it. her fav album is il ballo della vita.

specifically Will headcanons because i love him
As a way to cope, Will started writing poetry as an apprentice, sometimes just a few words and sometimes long sonnets. He still does this even when he's older
Despite Halt's criticism, Will's Gallican is actually pretty good, he knows some other languages too that he can get by with
And I know this headcanon has been said before, but Will knows curse words in about 50 different languages and uses them on the reg. Halt finds it hilarious
Will and Alyss used to lay in the grass and stargaze, sometimes using a chart and finding constellations, and sometimes making their own. After Alyss' death, Will still goes outside and finds their constellations, feeling that she's up there now, in the very stars they used to watch
He actually retired from the corps at a pretty young age in comparison to some, because he wanted time to explore the world one more time before truly settling down to rest
^This was his original retirement plan with Alyss, they were going to retire at 50, and travel the world, discovering new places and making new memories before they settled back in Araluen, where they would grow old together. Unfortunately, this never came to pass, but Will still retired at around 55 and traveled, he just did it alone.
One time when Will was bored he just impulsively decided to enter a world class archery competition (think Medieval olympics) he did it undercover, just for shits and giggles, and of course he won. So now there's a random Will Barton out there who holds the world record for best archer. The whole ranger corps knows it was him and they all laugh about it, cuz its just the funniest-most-Will Treaty- shit ever to be done.
There's a running joke that Will breaks all his mugs. Not all his glassware period, no, just his mugs. No one understands, not even him. But anyway that's why every holiday or birthday, at least 1 or 2 of his friends has to gift him a mug. Because he's always in need of new mugs.
Will died from Alzismers. Physically, he stayed in very good condition as he aged, but his mind deteriorated fast. He forgot his friend's names, he couldn't remember old missions, his profession, toward the end he couldn't even remember his own name. His own legacy. On his death bed, he was surrounded by strangers-- once called friends. The only thing he seemed to remember was Alyss. She was the name he kept repeating as his own mind soon forgot how to breathe.
That last one was unnecessarily sad so here's something not so cripplingly depressing: When not in uniform, Will's kinda got like a model off-duty look. Kind of a careless "yeah no thoughts were put into this fit but actually there were many thoughts" anyways he's kind of a style icon, even in sweatpants.

HELLO EVERYONE
Oh boy you know who it is my favourite boy <33 I've gone into detail about his character below the cut >:}
Reginald strikes me as an odd character since his personality is formed around insecurity; the slave of his own mind, and that of his own people.
You see, royalty is a special case in this universe. Despite the name being “medieval AU”, its more magical and foreign. The Copperbottom family is a line formed from two royal houses, and has prospered for 5 generations. What makes royalty so special is that they’re gifted in many ways.
Magic
Magic is an odd case study, since its formed, quite literally, in the blood stream. If a royal had a cut, their blood would be speckled with magic. The colour of said magic is also visible within the lower half iris on a royal’s eye, and all magic casted by a royal will be of that colour. However, royals are only hosted to one power each. These powers are special, however. They usually consist as the ability to conquer a specific object, or set of objects, out of magic. King Galeforce, for example, posses magic in the shade of green, and has the ability to create any weapon of his choosing. Prince Jullian (an OC) posses magic in the shade of pink, and has the ability to create mirrors that can reflect either the true, best, or worst version of people.
These powers are said to be a gift from the stars, and can only be matured through the greatest pleasure in life: laughter.
For most royals, this is not a problem. As babies, there is a lot to laugh about, is there not? Most royals develop magic very easily from a young age.
2. Height and Strength
Royals have more power than your average citizen. Most royals range in height from 6’2-7’. They’re usually built (and trained) to handle any kind of weaponry, with their body type usually reflecting whatever magic they happen to possess. This, perhaps, is how they were able to get themselves into power; for who could take down someone who had the strength of 10 men?
..
The Copperbottom has a long history of strong, powerful rulers who have never been apposed, even when facing war. Hense, what made Reginald’s life so, er, fundamental.
He was the last of the Copperbottoms to survive. His parents met a tragic fate when he was a young boy, and he is the last left. But that was the thing about it, he wasn’t a traditional royal. At his full height as an adult, he barely reached 5’1, and he had not a scrap of magic to his name. Believe me, ladies in waiting and carers for the prince when his parents passed did everything they could think of, but nothing came to light. People speculated that the passing of his parents didn’t allow his magic to develop correctly, but nobody knew. Reginald was simply a quiet child who never spoke a word.
He wasn’t like other royals, he was *different*. Terrifying, I know.
Reginald was taken under the care of Admiral Dmitri Johannes Petrov, who very much cared for the boy as his own son. Dmitri had lost his wife and son in childbirth (eyup bi-Dmitri lets gooo). The kingdom didn’t have a ruler at the moment, and since Dmitri was indeed admiral, he offered to take care of him until he was of proper age to rise to the throne.
In the current day, Reginald is 25, and very mysterious as it is. Terrence was his parent’s regent, and he accepted taking the throne in their late becomings. Terrence’s character is a whole other can of worms to get into, and I’m going to go into heavy detail of his origins in another post, but for now, Terrence remains the king as of now.
But why? Well, its half Terrence’s fault and Reginald himself. For the sake of brevity, I’ll simply talk about Reg here.
Reg is 5’1 and powerless (and a Twink). The two things that make royals, well, royal, he doesn’t have. No one *knows* why, that’s just the way he is. Reginald’s quiet, he had a stutter growing up, and he’s freckled across his face. Royals are a simple of good manners and good behaviour, and for a royal who can’t speak nor represent his family, then who even is he?
But at the same time, the castle is terrified. Reginald is the *last* of his family, and everyone who lives and serves the Copperbottom family wants to keep him safe. The walls around the castle were put In place to ensure no harm could come to the prince. Terrence is an easily swayed man, and if someone gave him a reason to tear down those walls, he would. But no one has. No one wants to risk him getting hurt.
From Reginald’s perspective, he feels unworthy of the throne. Reginald feels as though he must do everything in his power to make up for himself. He is the last of his family, and he’s a *dud*. He’s a royal that lacks anything royal looking, and so he feels eternally guilty. His unhealthy habits of drilling himself into work are of his own poison; he believes it owes it someone. He believes he had to put in more work than anyone at the castle because of the mess he has made of his family.
For if he is powerless and lacking of power, then he had to make up for it somehow, right?
Reginald does not have resentment for his upbringing; its been told to him about what he *should* have been, but he just isn't. He is a quiet fellow, but kind. Not many can form an opinion about him since he's a mystery. He's either doing work or out in his gardens where he's usually lost in thought. But in conversation, he does try his best to please crowds.
For someone who has never been outside, no one knows his face, only his name. A lot of commoners assume he is powerful, and that the castle was hiding him for his protection. Commoners are scared of him; if he is such a mystery, then he must be greatly powerful, yes?
..
Reginald’s character is complicated. He’s genuinely a very kind and sweet soul, but it’s very overshadowed by his crumpling self-image, but he sincerely tries to make up for it by pushing himself to the very limits. His first action of doing something for himself was making an escape from the palace, which is the beginning of the main series.
What I adore about Medieval Copperright is that Right teaches Reg that indeed has to learn to love himself. Right sees beauty in every single feature he has, and Reginald is blind to it. Right drills in the fact that Reginald doesn’t owe anyone anything for simply being himself. Their relationship is really slow, and I love that, because Reginald learns to love himself and love the things about himself through someone who views him as him. It's only when Reginald learns to care about himself that he begins to develop feelings about Right, as he can finally see himself as worth being in someone else's life.
The first person that sees Reginald as himself makes him realise that he isn’t simply an object for the throne, but as someone with a dream to be alive.
Right again is another story entirely, but I hope you’ve enjoyed this ramble !! <33
If you guys have any questions, please hit me up! I would love to go into more detail :D

LoZ - Hyrulean Cultural Aesthetics
Overall Cultural Influences:
Central Hyrule & Hylians specifically = Medieval Germanic & Arthurian English with some variation depending on location. All Hylian towns will likely have a little bit of this in them.
Humans = Rural, small town, down home, farmer, tough as nails, survivor, rough around the edges, traditional, conservative, but still rebellious, & generally very good-hearted. That means they are the rednecks, the cowboys, the military men, the American Southerners, the Vikings, & the Celts kind of characters. You're salt of the earth types. At least in feel, though not necessarily in culture. It's because of this that humans generally get along well with Gorons. Either way, humans stick mostly to the agricultural & ranching settlements for the most part.
Zora = Hard to tell as they generally don't wear clothing, but they do wear a lot of jewelry. If I had to give them clothes, I'd definitely say they'd be something flowy. Possibly Roman or Greek in fashion to go with the water theme? As for sensibilities, maybe a bit of French Rococo. I also get the impression that the Zora's Domain is actually divided into 2 levels: the Upper Domain & the Lower Domain. The Upper Domain is what we see in the games & consists of the commercial district & palace. The Lower Domain is entirely underwater & is where the Zora actually live. The reason we don't see it is because Link can't dive.
Rito = Northern Native American. Aldean specifically. Maybe a bit of Latin American.
Goron = A mix of Maori (Polynesian), African, Dwarven, & maybe a bit of Old West mining town, though it's hard to tell for certain as they generally don't wear clothing. Definitely something with a decent blend of caballerismo & machismo. Something masculine & tribal, but also community oriented & friendly.
Gerudo = Egyptian/Middle Eastern Amazons with some Orc influence. Possibly with some hints of Hindu too. At least as far as fashion goes.
Korok/Kokiri = If Peter Pan & the Lost Boys were Hobbits.
Twili = Possibly Scandanavian? Also Chinese with some Japanese influences.
Mogma = They seem to be Brooklyn-ish. Maybe even a bit of an Italian-American Mob feel, but more so in the "friendly gangster" way. So, I'm seeing some Bensonhurst influences, which is a specifically Italian-American borough within Brooklyn, I believe. Maybe even a bit of New York Jewish? Like, they come across as being Italian mafia adjacent, but only in so much as the accent, the attitude, & family-oriented organization. Sort of an "it takes a village" & "we take care of our own" type of mentality. Not in any way actually mafia though & certainly not in the romanticized view of gangsters as I don't actually see the Mogmas being the types to actually commit crimes on the reg. And despite being avid treasure-hunters, they seem to have a general culture of altruistic generosity. By that, I mean that their love language is gift-giving.
Yeti = Norse Viking.
Minish = Borrowers.
Anouki = Inuit.
Lokomo = Possibly Greek?
Zonai = Mesoamerican.
*Lupos = Gaelic, Celtic, & Nordic. (This is a race I made up, if you wanna know more, go to Wolf Link & the Lupos Race.)
Smaller Settlements:
Hateno = I'm getting Gaelic Scottish farming town. Also maybe a bit of Spain, Italy, & Greece. Mostly inhabited by humans & Hylians.
Kakariko = Japanese with maybe a touch of American Old West. While primarily Japanese, there's also some definite South Korean influences. Especially in their cooking.
Mabe = Rustic dairy ranching town vibes because I'm putting Lon Lon Ranch there. Based on how AoC & LA's Mabe was designed, their roofing is colorful terracotta tile & generally has ivy & such growing on their homes, so maybe Colonial Spanish. Mostly inhabited by humans & Hylians.
Goponga = I'm getting rural Luisiana Bayou vibes, most likely due to it being located in a swamp. So, primarily Cajun, French, & Colonial Spanish with some Zora inspiration maybe. Mostly inhabited by humans, Hylians, & Zora.
Deya = Not sure yet, but I'm giving them a vineyard, peach orchard, & making them use them to make moscato, so maybe an old Tuscany winery & fishing village? Mostly inhabited by humans & Hylians. From what we see in the games, it was actually the biggest settlement in Hyrule besides Castle Town, so it could've been a full-on town or city.
Ordon = Has a rural ranching feel & might be inspired by a southern agricultural town in Italy called Ordona. So, maybe rural Italy with American South mannerisms & sensibilities. Culturally, though, I get Gaelic Irish vibes. It might be the smials… Also, maybe a little bit of Welsh too. Either way, it's mostly inhabited by humans & Lupos (more human than Lupos) with the occasional Hylian, Sheikah, & 1 or 2 Gerudo. (For more of their overall culture, go to Ordonian Culture & Ordon Cooking Culture.)
Lurelin = Rural Hawaiian fishing village. Maybe a little bit of Caribbean & Okinawan? With a little bit of Mesoamerican mixed in due to Zonai influence from the nearby ruins.
Ealiyah = Tibetan-flavored Gerudo farming & brewing town. Maybe a little bit of Russian too? Also, interior decoration is eclectic & cluttered but cozy & colorful in a vibrant, rustic Bohemian sort of way. There are also some influences from humans, Hylians, Lupos, & even Sheikah to a degree as several of each race lives there too (all men), but overall, the culture remains mostly that Tibetan-Gerudo sort of style. They do a lot of weaving & sewing as well as dying. (This is a town I made up, for more on its culture & history, go to Ealiyah Town & the Highlands Gerudo.)
Tabantha Village = Norse with Rito, Yeti, & Lupos inspiration. So, old Norse Viking, Aldean, Celtic, & Gaelic with a Russian & Welsh accent. They use a lot of furs in their clothing. Mostly inhabited by humans, Hylians, Rito, Yeti, & Lupos.
Shadow Hamlet = Dwarven possibly, with Goron inspiration. So, very masculine. Maybe a bit of Old Western Mining Town. A mix of Gorons, Hylians, & Humans tend to live here.
Koholint Domain = This is on the Koholina Archipelago, which Eventide Island is the smallest island of & will eventually become a fishing & port town. In-world, it has influence from Zora, Rito, & Lurelin. But, from a real world perspective, it's mostly Polynesian, coastal Native American, & coastal Hindu with some ancient coastal Greco-Roman (even Atlantis-like) influence for the underwater sections of the settlement. As well as in their formal fashion. There would likely be a tiny bit of Carribean & Okinawan influence in there too. The population is made up of Euryhaline Zora (able to survive in both salt & fresh water), Coastal Rito, & Lurelin Hylians/humans. And, much like with how I think the Zora's Domain is built, the settlement's commercial district is on land, while the Zora residential area is underwater. The Rito & human/Hylian residences, as well as the Cheiftain's home, are also on land. (For more on the specifics of this, go to Euryhaline Zora & Coastal Rito Port Town.)
Gatepost, Outpost, & East Post = These are all a package deal. These are mostly military towns, so that'll definitely factor in. They are positioned in such a way as to protect Oldcastle. Mostly inhabited by Hylians, humans, & Sheikah, but with smatterings of the other races too.
Oldcastle = The site of OoT's Castle Town, a.k.a. the Great Plateau, so there'll be some DEEP historical significance going on. As such, it's mostly Medieval Germanic & Arthurian English. Mostly inhabited by Hylians, humans, & Sheikah.

day 19 of @almost-a-class-act's War Is Helloween prompts!
SAS: Rogue Heroes - Johnny Cooper/Reg Seekings & Paddy Mayne/Eoin McGonigal
Character A goes to a haunted house/corn maze/grouped fall activity of your choice, and ends up lumped into a group with Character B due to fifth wheeling/friends bailing.
He had to admit it looked pretty cool from the outside, especially in this gloomy weather.
Reg usually wasn't the kind of person to visit old manors and castles, but he agreed to tag along when Eoin explained there was going to be a ghost tour focusing on the gruesome history of this particular castle and its inhabitants. He didn't care about the lives of historical toffs, but he was hoping for some decent medieval weaponry. Murder. Hauntings. Maybe even a dungeon. This could be fun.
Initially, there were supposed to be six of them. When Reg arrived at the castle's entrance, however, the only people there were Paddy and Eoin. Everyone else had bailed. He sighed. He loved them, he did, but he already knew from experience that this would turn into an afternoon of wandering after his friends as they made moon eyes at each other and inevitably forgot Reg was even there.
He followed them inside, silently hoping the tour would be entertaining, at least. Craning his neck to take in the vastness of the main hall, he slowly turned and admired the decorations. The walls were covered in tapestries and old weapons. Candles flickered in window sills. It instantly gave off a spooky atmosphere. He was impressed.
He was admiring some halberds hung up above a doorway when someone stepped on his heel.
"Oi, watch wh-"
When he turned around, he was faced with the prettiest blond he had ever seen. The man was regarding him a little apprehensively, but his face softened as their eyes met. Reg forgot to finish his sentence.
The blond ran a hand through his hair.
"Sorry! I was checking out the mace collection," he gestured hastily to the wall behind him. "Wasn't paying attention to my feet."
It was at that moment that their guide called for everyone to gather around, and the man gave Reg a cheeky little shrug before heading towards the group with a lingering smile.
Reg blinked, stomach flipping, and followed him automatically.
As they toured the castle, the blond didn't make any effort to pretend he wasn't sticking close to Reg on purpose, occasionally glancing at him over his shoulder with a sweet little smile, and Reg eagerly used it as an invitation to watch him as he listened to the tour guide. He noticed how his face lit up every time any kind of fighting or weaponry was mentioned, eyes wide and bright and his lips slightly parted as he listened with rapt attention. Reg couldn't keep his eyes off of him.
A grisly murder had been committed in the next room. The rest of their group all winced as they were told the story of how a man was killed in a fight when a mercenary infiltrated the castle and gutted him with his own sword, right where they stood; how the culprit had escaped before anyone realized something was wrong, leaving nothing behind but a corpse and a centuries-old mystery.
The group gasped in horror; Reg and the blond's eyes met as they smirked simultaneously.
"They say his ghost still haunts this room," the tour guide said ominously.
Reg had stopped listening.
They'd been looking for Reg for almost an hour now.
"I told you he'd wander off. He's probably down in the dungeons trying to nick a medieval siege weapon. We should have kept an eye on him."
Paddy snorted. "I don't think they keep those in the dungeons." He opened a door and peered inside; no Reg. "Anyways, he's a big lad. He can take care of himself."
As they rounded a corner, Paddy threw out an arm to stop Eoin from walking any further. They quickly hid behind a suit of armor.
Reg was in the hallway up ahead, excitedly discussing weapons with a handsome blond. A blush sat high on his cheeks despite the chill inside the castle, and he was talking a lot faster than he usually would. The blond was leaning a shoulder against the wall, head tilted seductively and a playful smile on his lips as he told Reg about his knife collection. Candlelight cast a pretty glow across his features.
Eoin shot Paddy a knowing look and smirked. "How romantic."
"You think he's asked for his number yet?"
"Of course not," Eoin grinned, pleased for his friend as he watched the blond reach out and touch his arm. "He's too busy looking like a lovestruck puppy."
Paddy took Eoin's hand and nodded towards the exit. "Let's just leave him, shall we."
"Yeah. I'll text him we've gone home."
Reg didn't notice them snickering as they slowly backed away.
He didn't even realize he had left the castle without Paddy and Eoin until he'd dropped Johnny off at his house a lot later that evening.
He was sure they'd understand.

Alright guys, I’ve got something to talk about cuz the dream I had last night reminded me of it and made me nostalgic for being a kid
When I was little, around 9-14-ish, I was really, really obsessed with this cute little book series written by the Geronimo Stilton author, the Chronicles of the Kingdom of Fantasy, and as you guys know, I’m very Dutch, so I read all of the books plus the sequel series in Dutch. And let me tell you, it shaped so much of my early teenage years personality and my love for fantasy and I never even dared to talk about that part of my life cuz it seemed “cringe”.
I’ll give a summary of the series here, cuz I don’t really think any of my followers have read it due to it not being translated to their language or just... not knowing it existed.
The Chronicles of the Kingdom of Fantasy (de Kronieken van Fantasia in Dutch and Cronache del Regno Della Fantasia in its original language, which is Italian) is a sweet, Lord of the Rings-escue series about a young elf, Ombroso (which is his Italian name, he’s called Saturno in the Dutch version), a 15-year-old refugee from the Land of the Woodelves who had been stranded in the Land of the Star-elves when he was just four years old after a devastating war in his own country. He has grown up as the adoptive son of astrologist Eridanus, who himself had two kids with his now-deceased wife, Mizram - currently 16-year-old Regulus and 13-year-old Spica.
In an effort to save his people and find the birth parents he can’t remember, Ombroso, after receiving a few items from Eridanus which had been stowed away for years until the boy was ready, travels into the Land of the Woodelves through a magical gate linking the two countries together (it’s a whole thing), taking Regulus with him cuz the power of bros is vast enough to do anything. Spica wanted to come, but apparently misogyny is still a thing in this medieval fantasy kingdom (and she’s. literally 13), so the boys leave her at home.
Pretty scarring shenanigans ensue, Ombroso and Reg find the Land of the Woodelves rotten, overtaken by evil creatures serving the Queen of Witches, who, unbeknownst to them, is currently trying to overtake the entire Kingdom of Fantasy. Ombroso learns his mother, Acacia, died while giving birth to him and his father, a mysterious man named Cuortenace (Sterkhart in Dutch, I honestly don’t know if they reveal his past right away in the first book. Every detail from this has melted together in my brain), hasn’t been seen for years. Few think he’s actually still alive. Ombroso also learns (or remembers, I don’t know) his real name is Audace (Dappart in Dutch) and that the name he usually goes by is just a nickname.
The boys meet Robinia, the former princess of the Woodelves whose older brother had actually sold her and her people to the Queen of Witches for a reason I can’t remember. Probably cuz of money or power. She’s 14 years old and really salty her people are suffering, so she doesn’t really like Ombroso and Regulus, but eventually warms up to them.
In the meantime, Spica also does shenanigans. She does a dreamily lovesick dreaming about Ombroso cuz she like-likes him and decides to go against his wishes and help him, cuz he’s totally lost without her. Girlboss, I actually looked up to Spica so much as a kid. Now I just think, “who let a 13 year old kid do war crimes???”.
She meets Stellarius, a grumpy old Gandalf-y wizard who goes by many names. He had actually come for Ombroso, to guide him through his journey, but takes one look at this kid and decides she probably has more braincells than a 15-year-old boy he’s never met before, so he decides she’ll come with him to the Land of the Woodelves to assist Ombroso in his hero’s journey. He informs her that, before they can go, they first need to do their own little thing and defeat the evil bats that have come through the magical gate into the Land of the Star elves - he enchants Spica’s bow and they go do the murder of bats.
I honestly don’t really... remember what happens next. I know Ombroso gets an enchanted sword and finds out about a prophesy in which a Sword, a Bow, a Goose and a Dragon would defeat the Evil Witch and do things, which is super obvious to everyone, even the main characters. He also meets a Hunter, who calls himself Hunter, cuz he’s a Hunter. I don’t think he’s really that creative as we meet him again later and he changes his name to Knight, cuz he’s... a Knight. Um. Yeah.
Ombroso nearly dies at some point, but don’t worry, he does that a lot. He and his new and old friends get the Land of Woodelves back and Ombroso and Spica, reunited and all, decide to fulfill the prophecy and journey through the realms to find a magic Goose and a Dragon to complete the quartet and defeat the Queen of Witches. Regulus and Robinia join them, same with Stellarius and Robinia’s little pet dragon(?), whose name I unfortunately forgot.
They travel to the kingdom of dwarfs through another magical gate in the second book, where they do a liberation of the people and need to find the next magical gate. Also, Ombroso had this really hot moment in this book which was kinda Little Mona’s first introduction to dominant fictional characters ever, which, um. Yeah. You see where I’m going with this. They also find the Goose in this one, a dwarf girl named Favilla (Spranka in Dutch) who got enchanted into a goose after escaping the Queen of Witches, who thought she was to bring her doom because of another prophesy. They take her with them through the gate!
In the third book, they go to a sorta swamp realm, which isn’t really fun for anyone. This one is my favorite, but apparently I don’t own the book, which absolutely sucks. They also get seperated from Stellarius in this one and for the first time ever, the teens have to rely on themselves. This one has a lot of inner conflict and some character development, mainly for Ombroso and Spica, and completes the prophecy quartet in the form on Codamozza (Halvestaart in Dutch, which means Half-Tail), a locked up Dragon Ombroso frees and befriends. At the end, Spica, Regulus, and Robinia get captured by the evil minions of the Queen of Witches and brought to her, seperating them from from Ombroso, Codamozza and Favilla. I don’t remember what Stellarius is doing, ngl.
The fourth book features the wrap up of the series, in which the prophecy comes to life and this part of the adventure ends. Spica, who is a storyteller and inspires herself and the other captured creatures in the Land of the Witches, gets taken before the Queen and drugged (um, yeah, they drug a 13-year-old. It gets really dark in this part) for them to tell them her stories, I don’t remember why. Robinia and Regulus lead a rebellion and meet up with the Hunter/the Knight and Stellarius, while Ombroso and Favilla go into the castle, where they reunite with Spica (who had been saved by a mysterious woman named Anguilla (Aaltje in Dutch), who Favilla had grown up with and lost contact with. She’s distant, however, and only interested in taking the Queen down.
In the final battle the Hunter/the Knight steps into the scene, breaking into the throneroom through the glass window on Codamozza’s back. He reveals himself to be a Knight of the Old Order of Knights of the Rose and Ombroso’s long lost father, Cuortenace. However, he sacrifices himself to save Spica and gets turned to stone by the Queen.
I don’t remember how, but the quartet defeats the Queen in one last effort to succeed. The kingdom celebrates and Ombroso, upset about the loss of his father, asks the Fairy Queen, the one who had chosen him to defeat the Queen of Witches so many years ago, his patron, to please turn him back to flesh and blood. The Fairy Queen doesn’t have that power however, and tells him he has to go to his father’s place of origin, the abandoned Island of the Knights, to restore it in its honor and place its crest back in its right place. Only then, his father and all the other people who had been turned to stone on the Island itself (cuz that happened but I totally forgot about it) would return to their former selves.
This brings us to the last two books of the series, 5 and 6, which shows how Ombroso, Spica and Codamozza, one year after the events of the final book, travel to the Island of the Knights and restore it in its former glory. It’s a bit weaker than the first four books, but it wraps the series up well enough so almost no loose ends are left around.
It does have a sequel series made up of four books, in which a new set of characters, who are the next generation of Knights from the new order Ombroso had build after the events of the first series. We see some small snippets of the old characters, who are around ten to fifteen years older than they were in the original, but it doesn’t tell us much about what happened to them except from what type of job they did. It’s a fun series, but I really would’ve preferred the older characters to be a bit more inserted into the plot.
As I said before, I read this series as a kid, from when I was around 9, up until I was around 14. The first book had been published in 2008, when I was 5, which - holy shit. That’s 15 years ago. This book is old. I mean, no wonder it meant so much to me as a kid. By the time I had started reading them, the final one had just been released and it was one of my first introductions into my beloved fantasy-hero’s journey type of story.
Ombroso was a great hero for something like this and kinda defied the odds of the usual “chosen ones” in other media. He was a bit broody, shy, couldn’t act well around people for a good portion of his life, and moody, so, so moody. His nickname by the Star Elves had been chosen because he just. Refused to smile as a kid. And it just concerned the other elves he lived with. He had his badass moments, really, and his personality made for a great dynamic with the siblings Regulus and Spica. They were so bubbly, so friendly, and while Ombroso wasn’t actively the voice of reason between them, he was the one who strutted behind them with his hands in his pockets and head in the clouds.
Regulus was more of a voice of reason, in typical older brother behaviour. He and Ombroso had this really sweet understanding with each other, and Ombroso viewed him more as a sibling, while viewing Spica as more of a friend, despite growing up with her. The three of them got along so well and looking back on it as an adult, I just feel so protective over these three. They’re so dear to my heart, partly due to them being so young and due to them being the characters who I’ve literally aged out of after having had them be older than me for years. They go through so much and honestly, if this series had been marketed differently, it would’ve passed as a YA-fantasy series. Don’t tell me I’m wrong, cuz I know I’m not.
When I was a kid, Spica had always been my favorite character, with her being so spunky, a storyteller, and someone who actively stood up for themselves. She had a huge impact on my development as a young teen, but as I got older and reviewed the series having grown past her age, Regulus became much more dear to my heart. He was a bookworm, so, so friendly, if not a bit loud and outspoken, not having a great filter, and he just felt so... real. Like a real older brother, a real 16-17 year old finding his way in the world and growing away from his home, venturing out into the world. His character was always so grounded and as a more reserved older sister to a rambunctious twin brother, I felt so connected to that. Also, he’s a himbo. He’s such a himbo.
I’m not really gonna focus on Robinia, I didn’t really connect with her character a whole lot during the series as she was pushed into the background most often during the main series and just,,, completely cut out of the last books, save for a bit in the start and end of the fifth and sixth respectively.
However, what really kept me into this series, was the way my friends from that time reacted to it. Most of us were little girls with a little too much imagination, and my best friend at the time got just as obsessed with it as I did. We played out the books with playmobile figures, talked about everything in it, made original characters and thought about fanfictions we didn’t even know was fanfiction. We made an oc who was Ombroso and Spica’s daughter, gave them all families, fantasized about all the wacky things they would get into as adults. It was just fun, that’s all I can say about it. I’ve lost contact with that friend, we grew apart, but sometimes I see her give a like to my posts on instagram, which reminds me of the fun we used to have as kids.
When I went into middle school, I had another friend who was into the series. We wrote down fanfiction and I sometimes wrote stories on the playmobile plays me and my other friend had made a year prior. I made a full-fledged character out of the kid we gave Ombroso and Spica, whom I named Acacia. She was one heck of a fun character and I absolutely loved writing about her, her siblings, her love interest, and of course, her parents. In total, over the years, I wrote around 100,000 words of fanfiction for this series. These books shaped me so heavily, but as it was so unknown and the author behind Geronimo Stilton is known for their more... childish stories, I wasn’t taken seriously when I talked about it in school. I remember having done a presentation about the first book in my first year of middle school, totally enthusiastic, and hearing how the Dutch teacher had banned Geronimo Stilton books from being presented from the next year and on. I already was the “weird kid” in my class, ahead on the curve, having a bit too much knowledge for my little brain to contain.
Of course a little fantasy series about elves, dragons, a chosen one who was just as much of an outcast as I was and another character I aspired to be more like was gonna be my escape, but as the years passed and I grew up bit by bit, it felt... strange, to be so invested in something that everyone deemed so childish. At the tender age of 14, you do mostly what others expect of you - so I put the books down, stowed them away in a corner of my room where I still knew they were close and could grab onto them any minute, but still far away enough to not realize they were there.
And now I’m 19. It’s been ten years since I first picked up one of the books. They’re still in that little corner in my room and I feel like I’m finally in a place where I won’t be ashamed or embarrassed if I picked them up again. And really, what harm can it do? What harm can liking a book series made for kids really do me? All it can do, is bring me the joy it brought me when I was a kid myself and take me back to the time where I didn’t have college to worry about, where I had a more functional family, where I didn’t worry about who I would offend if I spoke too loudly or what my place in the world would be as a woman and an artist.
I’m at the point in my life where I no longer cringe at my former self and her interests; in fact, she was probably a lot bolder than me for liking something that was so dear to her heart so openly.
Maybe it’s time I start doing that again.

( 🦇🩸 ) Mun is 20 y/o, he/him pronouns and transmasc if ya need to know. Ofc 18+ only. I write a lot fr so lit-novella is preferred but not required ☝🏻 I can do some short lil spitter rp’s. Absolutely a shot in the dark, but hey you never know. Looking for South park Rp 👀
I’m a discord main, but we can write on any platform, I’m flexible. Mainly looking for MxM ships, but if you have a juicy plot w a nb, fluid, fem character I might be down. I prefer writing my characters as afab usually, but it depends on the character and au really. Mainly looking for dead dove kinda plots and dynamics, but I’m down for reg old stuff too. I’m a sucker for Au’s like omegaverse, apocalyptic, mirroverse ( iykyk ), sot, medieval fantasy, wild western, war, dystopians, tfbw, superhero’s, werewolves, vampires, monsters, etc.
I can write a good few characters, not many though sorry. Mainly muse Stan, but I’ve been dabbling with other characters like Kyle, Kenny, Karen, Cartman, etc. If we’re gonna do smut position and role depend on the character for me. But I can write top, bottom, verse, submissive, dominant, switch. Like I do prefer bottom Stan, top Kyle, verse Kenny, or bottom Eric; for example. But I’ll never turn down a character being forced to switch up their roles for a juicy scenario/plot☝🏻
My top ships are Stan/Ken, Kyle/Ken, Stan/Kyle, Stan/Gary, Stan/Wendy(l), Kyle/Cartman, Stan/Cartman, Ken/Cartman, Craig/Kyle, Stan/Craig, Tweak/Kyle. I’m usually up for most ships though.
I love toxic ships and practically anything dead dove. Non/dub con, unhealthy relationships, gore, horror, any kinda cest, older/younger, 🍪, etc. I don’t only want to write smut though, I want some juicy plot if we’re writing up something spicy. Begging for a crumb of a like if you’re down to clown 🤲🏻 I’ll dm and we can chat, see if we’re compatible to write, and then we can start spit balling some plots.
give a like and anon will get back to you

HISTORY OF TAMIL NADU
Name :Sanjith Y
Dep:B A HISTORY(EM)
REG NO:2121E0246
The history of Tamil Nadu is rich and diverse, spanning thousands of years. While it's challenging to cover its entire history in just 1000 words, I can provide a concise overview of key periods and developments.
1. **Ancient History (300 BCE - 300 CE):**
Tamil Nadu's history can be traced back to the Sangam period, characterized by the flourishing of Tamil literature. The Sangam texts, composed between 300 BCE and 300 CE, provide insights into the early Tamil society, culture, and politics.
2. **Medieval Period (7th - 14th Century):**
The Chola dynasty, one of the most prominent in Tamil Nadu's history, ruled during this time. They expanded their empire across South India and Southeast Asia. The Cholas made significant contributions to art, literature, and temple architecture.
3. **Vijayanagara Empire (14th - 17th Century):**
The Vijayanagara Empire, although not Tamil, influenced the region. They promoted the growth of the Tamil language and culture. Temples and grand architectural projects were undertaken during this period.
4. **Nayak and Maratha Rule (17th - 18th Century):**
After the decline of the Vijayanagara Empire, Tamil Nadu saw the rise of various Nayak dynasties and later, the Marathas. The Nayaks continued to promote Tamil culture and literature.
5. **British Colonial Rule (18th Century - 1947):**
The British East India Company established control over Tamil Nadu in the 18th century. The region played a crucial role in the Indian independence movement. Prominent leaders like C. Rajagopalachari and Periyar E.V. Ramasamy emerged during this period.
6. **Independence and Post-Independence Era (1947 - Present):**
India gained independence in 1947, and Tamil Nadu played a significant role in the formation of the Indian Republic. The state has been politically active, with the Dravidian movement advocating for regional autonomy and social reform.
7. **Cultural Heritage:**
Tamil Nadu has a rich cultural heritage, including classical dance forms like Bharatanatyam, traditional music, and a vibrant literary tradition. Temples like the Brihadeeswarar Temple in Thanjavur and the Meenakshi Temple in Madurai are architectural marvels.
8. **Language and Literature:**
Tamil is one of the oldest surviving classical languages in the world. It has a vast body of literature, including the Sangam poetry, religious texts, and modern works by literary giants like Subramania Bharati and Kalki Krishnamurthy.
9. **Economy and Industrialization:**
Tamil Nadu has a diverse economy, with sectors like manufacturing, agriculture, and services playing crucial roles. The state has become an industrial hub with a focus on automotive manufacturing and information technology.
10. **Political Landscape:**
The state has been known for its dynamic and competitive politics. Dravidian parties, the DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) and AIADMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam), have dominated the political scene. Key leaders include M.G. Ramachandran, M. Karunanidhi, and J. Jayalalithaa.
11. **Social Reforms:**
Tamil Nadu has a history of social reform movements, addressing issues like caste discrimination and women's rights. Figures like Periyar E.V. Ramasamy played pivotal roles in these movements.
12. **Education and Science:**
Tamil Nadu is known for its educational institutions like the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Trichy. It has contributed significantly to fields such as science, technology, and healthcare.
13. **Cinema:**
The state is a hub for the Indian film industry, with the Tamil film industry, or "Kollywood," producing a vast number of films. Superstars like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan have gained international recognition.
14. **Recent Developments:**
Tamil Nadu has witnessed various infrastructural developments, including metro rail projects, and has continued to focus on economic growth and social welfare.
In summary, Tamil Nadu's history is a tapestry of ancient civilizations, colonial influence, political movements, cultural richness, and economic progress. Its legacy continues to shape the social, political, and cultural landscape of modern India.

on friendships: being in my 20s means we're all busy, but friends will make time for u in some form whether it is walking to the local bakery and surprising you with a birthday croissant (um can i please have the tomato and cheese croissant you're such an angel thank u!!), texting bits of life (does decaf help with digestion as much as reg coffee?), reading the same medieval book (the first page starts off w a quote from a demi lovato song), sending an image of a giant ass strawberry (blue speech bubble: a big ass strawberry for farmer name, grey speech bubble: scrape off the seeds so u can plant them) or going over their place when they're down in the dumps and being there for them. being in my 20s means that we're all busy, when miscommunication happens, instead of talking (i'm upset with you because you didn't tell me that _____), reaching out means hesitation and effort (hey i'm thinking of you and wanted to wish you luck), ghosting is the easier answer (no response), isnt moving on clean and better but its hard when there's mutual friends (whose side are you on?), frequent bumping into one another (blank faces) and enlarging the chasm when you both just walk away. being in my 20s means that we're all busy, but there is a feeling of familiarity, understanding and being yourself when we catch up (hey she says quietly, i havent seen you since X and you're like yeah how have you been? or like hey he says quietly and you dont expect to see him ever again so you're shocked and you wave and walk away with your current friend). being in my 20s means we're all busy, modern society makes departures even more bittersweet when we see glimpses of their lives on social media now (i'm going to brisbane with my boyfriend over the weekend!) when your lives used to be so intertwined (hey can i tell you something? my boyfriend is kind of suffocating me atm is this normal to feel like this or am i cruella) and that's that

This week I am legally cautioned via email attachment for removing and disposing of a pair of Victorian cupboards in my new house. My architect, designer and I have been instructed to rebuild the cupboards in Victorian wood within 28 days or face lawyering up. The blood in my hands turns chilly and I think of Donald Trump, who took classified documents with him to Mar-a-Lago from the White House, and I think of all the other weird and niche offences that go unpunished on the reg. I do, however, feel as though I let history down. The term “medieval millennial” follows me around like the stench of human fecal matter in my studio yard, and yet I demolished a piece of posterity like it was nothing Today I see a single magpie on my window ledge with a shiny stone in his or her mouth and I’m only really superstitious during the bad times, so I salute it. Later I see a homeless man licking a giant lollipop on a stolen bike, and this somehow feels like less of a bad omen than the magpie. I busy my anxious brain with the yard’s puppy, who has learned how to give me an unnervingly human hug. She grunts like a happy pig, and her main owner, A, remarks I haven’t been in holiday all summer. I tell him I’m not really one for beaches and he says he “loves a good beach”. I feel powerful developing a friendship with the yard boss, it seems to mean I could park any number of vehicles at any time. The puppy chews on the strap of my top. I think of how A makes his money - half drugs, half snooker memberships - and wonder whether going to prison for illegal cupboard removal would gain me some respect with his associates. I hope I never find out I finally have big canvases on which to paint and when my canvas guy tells me why there was such a delay in their fabrication I regret calling him “a little bitch” to V. In reality he’s going through some more sinister and exaggerated version of what my parents went through with me as a teenager - that thin existential line between helping and hindering ones child, in this case an adult child, when that child is mentally ill. When he delivers my canvases we smoke a few cigarettes and I play therapist for an hour and a half. I’ve learned that though it can take years, when a British man gets going, his pain is unstoppable. I vow to make the best paintings I can on the surfaces I’m giving, hard won as they are
