OR: Gwen thinks Miguel is taking her to church like a good Catholic father.
(Fortunately for the groom, Nueva York has a bit of a language barrier. Unfortunately for the bride, she only has two options: get sent back to her father or make Earth-928's Miguel O'Hara a Daddy.)
--------
“Would you like to know who doesn’t exist in this universe?” his nose is inches from hers, his face arranged in a primal imitation of a smile.
(Gwen had a quick wit, a toolbelt of gadgets, and superhuman strength. She knew she was nobody’s meat. Despite her slight build, Spider-Ghost was clever enough to outfox a plethora of villains.
She had forgotten little red predators could easily become prey under a wolf’s sharp teeth.)
“… Me?” her breath rattles.
“She does now.” And then, Gwen remembers the documents she’d given the priest.

Bible Verses to Meditate On While Surrounded By Nature
“...“Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the Eternal One.” (Jeremiah 23:24)
“In God we live and move and have our being... We are God’s offspring” (Acts 17:28)
“...The earth is full of God’s unfailing love.” (Psalm 33:5)
“The earth is filled with Your loving devotion” (Psalm 119:64)
“Even heaven, the highest heaven, cannot contain You” (1 Kings 8:27)
“Does the rain have a father? Who has begotten the drops of dew? From whose womb does the ice emerge? Who gives birth to the frost from heaven, when the waters become hard as stone and the surface of the deep is frozen?” (Job 38:28-30)
“How many are Your works, Eternal One! In wisdom You have made them all; the earth is full of Your creatures.” (Psalm 104:24)*
“When you send your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the ground.” (Psalm 104:30)
“[Wisdom] pervades and penetrates all things... Though she is but one, she can do all things, and while remaining in herself, she renews all things.” (Wisdom 7:24,27)
“...In him all things hold together.” (Col 1:17)
“In God’s hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.” (Job 12:10)
“The Eternal One is good to all: And God's tender mercies are over all God's works.” (Psalm 145:9)
“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.” (Matthew 10:29)
*Psalm 104 in general is good for nature meditation

Nine Chants for Wizardly Meditation
As I slowly resume my early training in serious magical practice, I believe that I should write up chants for going into meditative magical states of mind.  I figured that these should also be exercises in writing poetry.  Although all chants have four lines for the sake of brevity and repeatability, I eventually decided to mix up their structures.  I wrote several chants with alliterations and four stresses per line and wrote a few with end-rhymes and five stresses per line.  Making the subjects and words of the chants varied was a bit of a challenge, but then again, I suppose grappling with such challenges is part of learning poetry.  I do plan to copy these into my personal beginning grimoire sometime soon.
I wander as a pilgrim to the World Tree.
I roam the many roads and enter
The Upper World, the Middle World,
And the Lower World with loving intent.
Woden heals wounds with his songs.
I can be like Woden, the frenzied, through wizardry.
Freya invokes foresight with her staff.
I can be like Freya, the sovereign, through sorcery.
Beyond what I commonly hear and see,
I release my subtler senses to roam free.
I breathe and touch the hidden numinous whole,
Wearing the cloak and embracing the wizard’s role.
I step away from waking life
to shrines within shrouded realms.
I join the gods, giants, and animals
Before I reenter everyday life.
Elves sing with elk and owls.
Roses grow under oaks in their groves.
Moonlight shines on Skadi’s mountains.
They are all siblings and I am their sibling.
Hail to Earth, wounded yet giving life.
Hail to spirits and gods with knowing eyes.
Hail to the gap from which creation arose.
Hail to the mystic forces that infuse us as they flow.
Below the roots of the Tree of Life
Are the silent depths of the chasms in the cosmos.
My full self descends and abides
In the silent depths of the chasms in the cosmos.
I open my heart and reach my hands
To receive the sacred powers of life,
Darkness, harmony, destiny, and chaos.
Embrace me and energize me; embrace me and empower me.
As a stag, I walk deep in the enchanted forest.
As an owl, I fly deep in the enchanted forest.
Sunbeams pierce the heavy shading canopy.
My spirit, mind, and flesh are transformed in the majesty.

"And the strong shall be come Tinder and his work a spark, and both of them shall burn together with none to quench them"
Isaiah 1:31
Be careful which actions you take a stand behind. Sinful actions with no repentance will lead to just destruction.

We hear a lot about "cancel culture". When Fox News sacked Tucker Carlson, his opponents acted like it was a major victory and a courageous decision. People such as Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar are already saying that they will leave the USA if Donald Trump wins in 2024. That is not operating from a position of courage and strength, nor is it a victory. It is cowardice, grudge bearing and defeat.
The Stoic philosopher, and Roman Emperor, Marcus Aurelius said, "Choose not to be harmed—and you won’t feel harmed. Don’t feel harmed—and you haven’t been." Here, Aurelius says that it is not what is done to us that matters. The important thing is our response.
Elements of Stoic philosophy can be seen in the writings of King Solomon. I like to think that this may have been an influence of those such as Aurelias, despite the unfavourable opinion of the Jewish people that he expressed. Solomon wrote, in Proverbs 25:21-22:
"If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat;
if he is thirsty, give him water to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head,
and the Lord will reward you."
This is operating from a position of strength. Rather than treating your enemy as your enemy, rather than attacking, cancelling or insulting them, do good to them and in this way truly highlight the wrong that they are doing. Jesus said:
"But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you..." (Matthew 5:44)
This is true strength; fighting the "natural" urge for revenge. Cancel culture is weakness.

We will find time for just about anything, except when it comes to finding time to spend with God. The time you make for this world is time wasted, while the time spent with God is time that counts for eternity.
In a world where most movies, TV shows, and even cartoons, are desensitizing us to the dangers of sin, we must be extremely careful with what we see. Not to mention, you are directly, or indirectly, supporting immoral companies to keep doing what they’re doing by purchasing and downloading their content.
We must make time for our growth in holiness. We must make time to read and study His Word. We are told we must “meditate day and night” on His Word and His laws (Joshua 1:8; Psalm 1:2). We must make time for Him! How could we expect to spend eternity in heaven if we are not willing to spend what little time we have on this earth?
Stop wasting time on things that will have no bearing on eternity. You think anyone in heaven cares about your favorite streaming show? You think anyone in heaven cares about your rank in a video game? Stop acting like a child (1 Corinthians 13:11) and walk in a manner worthy of your calling (Ephesians 4:1): that is, a Christian—a follower of Christ.
Stop living for yourself. Stop living for your flesh and desires.
Start living for God.

Something that i think was very bewildering to me was the realization that God never stops loving us. He may be angry, disappointed or even sad, but His love never turns to hate or cease to exist. His love is a permanent feeling towards us! I think thats one of the reasons that make me stay a Christian, how could i deny a love so incredible as His?
Amen!!!! 🙏🏻💖
I forgot where I read it or heard this the other day but it went something like: ‘when we pray, we can’t see God but when we pray we look Him directly in the eyes.’ It kinda reminds me a lot of Jesus when He said:
Nathanael said to him, “How do you know me?” Jesus answered him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” - John 1:48
It makes me want to cry tears of joy! God sees me and you and loves us way beyond what we will ever comprehend with our human thoughts and ways. 🥹
You know, I confess here to you guys I have such admiration for people who can read the whole Catechism or the whole Bible neither of which I have never fully done in my life because I get so locked onto verses God says that just blow me away with how awesome His love and mercy is! Oh! My heart.

Thinks about orcs having a strong hygiene culture, where having decorated and healthy hair is a symbol of pride that is also not limited to style, length, or having any at all.
Thinks about orcs strengthening bonds by doing each others hair, bodypaints, healing, feeding etc.
Thinks about orc youth rebelling against this communal culture by doing their appearance altering, feeding, and all sorts of group activities all on their own. But learning that their elders encourage branching out and finding themselves to discourage laziness, and to discourage the concept of taking and never giving.
Thinks about warriors carefully washing the blood off their weapons and bodies as a sign of respect for the might and resolve the other creature or person displayed (and also I am the best everyone watch how cool I am)
