las profundidades de un océano y las dolencias que involucran el color azul

esto estaba supuesto a ser un poema sobre el color amarillo o incluso el color café, pero de algún modo mi mente seguía regresando al azul como si no existiera ningún otro.

no quería escribir sobre el azul. durante minutos completos, me rehusé a abordar este tema en esa dirección, con esa totalidad, pues era consciente de lo propensa que era a caer en las connotaciones que implican al color azul con frecuencia.

sabía que si escribía sobre ese color en particular, iba a caer en la laguna de la tristeza, en ese ciclo eterno que los artistas trazaron para trazaron para poder asignarle una tonalidad a la agonía que guardaban dentro de sus cuerpos.

durante mucho tiempo, el azul y sus sombras han sido la representación de las carencias humanas, de los grandes periodos de una desolación profunda e inquebrantable, lo suficientemente devastadora como para que todos ellos, desde poetas hasta músicos y desde músicos hasta pintores necesitaran emplear este color en un intento por sacarse todas las dolencias de adentro.

nunca entendí por qué el azul, sin embargo. pudo haber sido cualquier otro color, cualquier otra combinación, pero eligieron el azul como si ningún otro pudiera competir con sus melancolías del modo en que este lo hace.

¿será porque en la paleta de colores es el más frío de todos?

¿o quizás es porque al mirarlo durante mucho tiempo uno mismo se da cuenta de sus penas?

picasso tuvo todo un periodo azul en el que vertió sus lágrimas como si el océano reflejado por el cielo se hubiese abierto en sus cuencas, como si no existiera consuelo dentro de toda esa marea azulada e infinita, revuelta e insensata; y aún así, no podría comprender por qué este color en particular.

en la psicología suele tener connotaciones de calma y tranquilidad, de confianza y optimismo, y sin embargo, millones de artistas y una infinidad de sentimentalistas andan por ahí sintiéndose azules, lloviendo por montón, hundiéndose en un océano severo de decepción absoluta, de dolencias terroríficas y espíritus bajos que los hacen sentir tan azules que necesitan expresarlo de alguna forma, incluso si no se deshacen del sentimiento que los tienen agarrados del cuello.

se ven azul. se sienten azul. tienen corazones profundamente heridos y una laguna inmensa dentro de sus entrañas.

no pueden deshacerse de ella, así como yo tampoco puedo evitar caer en la trampa de navegar por los cimientos de mis propias tristezas y escribir párrafos completos sobre el color que ha ahogado a más personas de las que mis dedos podrían contar.

no lo desprecio, de todas formas. a pesar de no haber querido abordarlo, de haber intentado huir de él; no lo detesto ni lo aborrezco. en realidad, en ocasiones me parece el color más humano que puede existir, pues es el único que permite que existan océanos completos dentro de los ojos de la gente.
