#meeting for monsoon preparation

Hello! what are the LN men flower motifs? how do they correspond to them?
Tumblr media
OSBORN = IRIS (鸢尾花)
The monsoon of early summer climbs onto the window sill, and the iris prepares to bloom.
in china, irises represent messengers of love and long-lasting longing. in europe, it symbolizes light and freedom. in egypt, it symbolizes strength and eloquence. blue irises in particular represent a pure and unadorned love.
Tumblr media
EVAN = DATURA (曼陀罗花)
Someone like him should not possess the light.
daturas, also known as devil's trumpet, are a genus of highly poisonous plants that belong to the nightshade family. red ones in particular mean a bloody love... haha. i think it's appropriate for this man's intensity.
Tumblr media
SARIEL = EPIPHYLLUM (昙花)
At the end of life, he thought on how he never truly appreciated the course of a Queen of the Night's bloom, and suddenly he felt intensely unreconciled.
queen of the night's have always represented the fleeting moment of eternal beauty because they bloom once a year and only for one night. this one is a bit more abstract and, at the beginning of the game, it fits Sariel because of how his degeneration was going to make him die within the year. now though, i think it fits the "fleeting" moment Sariel and the heroine have together because of their different lifespan. he will outlive her.
Tumblr media
CHARLIE = CLEMATIS (铁线莲)
Please forgive me for I have sinned because of you.
clematis represent nobility, a beautiful heart, and change. in china, they're also seen to symbolize loyalty, tenacity, and steadfastness. it fits when we think of how Charlie continues to persist in saving people and the world when it's so dark.
Tumblr media
JESSE = PERUVIAN LILY (六出花)
To him, there's nothing happier than reuniting with her again!
it has a very obvious meaning in relation to Jesse, the joy and expectation of meeting again! orange ones in particular though can also symbolize passion, an awakening, and uplifting feelings.

Chapter 5 of Scorpio is finished! Can be read here or on AO3. Pokerus AU belongs to @monsoon-of-art.
“A society driven mainly by selfish individualism has all the potential for sustainability of a collection of angry scorpions in a bottle.”
Dawn’s muscles ached from her morning exercises and she wasn’t even halfway finished yet. A gutted basculin on a skewer sat next to the fire as she practiced her blade movements with Chip while waiting for breakfast to cook.
The former human thought she had improved greatly over the past month with her daily practice, but she was nowhere near as proficient as the naturally born dewotts. Her grip on her shell blade was firm but not tight and she was always conscientious of its location when not in use, able to draw and brandish it at a moment’s notice. It finally felt like an extension of herself rather than a dangerous burdensome tool, but her sparring partner always had her drills and exercises completed long before her.
At least she could catch and eat her own food without crying or throwing up. It finally got through to her that a streamlined dewott’s body didn’t need to paddle with its arms like a human and it left her hands free for hunting or defence. Eating her catches raw still never sat right with her, let alone alive like the other otter pokémon. Even if she had somewhat come to terms with how her teeth could crush or cut off something vital until her prey stopped moving, it faintly felt horrible every time.
Dawn wasn’t sure her progress would be enough for her to survive on her own during the upcoming winter and the anxiety kept her up countless nights. Far too picky and reserved, she often depended on her new compatriots generously sharing portions of their meals she could bring herself to cook and eat. A Hisuian winter would strip away most of the berries and edible plants she had been supplementing her diet with. Dawn couldn’t afford to be so choosy for too much longer; the daylight hours were getting shorter and a chill was setting into the mornings and evenings.
She returned to her blade exercises with a renewed vigour, following Chip’s lead. It was better than last time, but Chip still completed the drill several seconds before her. Seconds that would be forever in a real battle.
The wiry dewott still made a noise of approval at her progress and Dawn figured she should check on their basculin. The fins and tail were turning black around the edges, but it could use a several more minutes by the fire.
Dawn turned around to see a mischievous gleam in the other dewott’s eyes as she dropped low to the ground, giving her several seconds to react to Chip launching herself at the former human. The girl was ready for the playful bout and they both went down, tumbling and wrestling on the sandy ground.
The wild dewott was clearly the stronger of the two, but Dawn met her grappling with practiced escape artistry from danger and buneary kicks until she was forced to let go. A lack of any moves or genuine blows could have told anyone this wasn’t a serious attempt at throwing down and the generous pauses were giving the former human a fighting chance.
An older sibling experienced in roughhousing turned what could have been painful bites into gentle nips that didn’t even come close to the skin through thick fur. Dawn laughed as she wriggled out from beneath Chip’s attempt at a pin and shoved her back over with her shoulder.
The other otter stumbled backwards before getting into a martial stance as she drew one of her shell blades, bouncing on her heels.
“Oh, you want me to kick your butt for you?”
Dawn grinned as she drew one of her own to meet the challenge. Chip didn’t fall for the taunt and merely gestured for her to make the first move.
A short arm movement with no follow through was meant to fake her out, but she didn’t flinch as Dawn went for a feint. Chip read her intentions and parried her strike effortlessly, giving her several seconds to prepare for the retaliation.
Her movements were broad and clearly telegraphed as they traded blows, the same as when she sparred with her brother. Maybe she saw Dawn as another little sibling in need of encouragement, but she could never consider herself as such. Whatever she had to do to survive and no matter what she told herself, deep down she would never be a wild pokémon.
A speck of pale yellow high upon a cliff was visible out of the corner of her eye before it disappeared in a flash of violet. She snapped her head in its direction, wondering if she imagined what she thought she saw before a watery missile of a dewott slammed into her.
The aqua jet knocked her flat on her back and she looked up at a shell blade pointed to her face, Chip’s foot planted on her chest to make a point about not paying attention during a battle. Dawn felt a mixture of embarrassment and annoyance as the wild dewott shook her head and tsked at her sparring partner being so careless. She tried to get up with no success; Chip had too much leverage and she waited for the former human to admit defeat before putting her blade away and offering a hand.
Dawn accepted and Chip hoisted her back onto her feet, the two dewotts soaked again after finally drying off from the morning’s hunt. It was about time to check on the basculin again and they could dry off by the fire, but they’d probably be going swimming again later anyways.
“Such is life for a water type.” Dawn reminded herself.
The roasted fish’s skin was golden brown and crispy with a delicious smell coming from it. Chip hovered nearby as Dawn picked apart her meal, happily accepting any part she didn’t want. The wild dewott loudly chewed through pieces of meat filled with bones with her mouth open as Dawn thought back to the pokémon she briefly saw; she could have sworn it was an abra. The former researcher idly wondered what one could have been doing so far east. They didn’t live anywhere near the Cobalt Coastlands.
--------------------------------------
Dawn carefully chipped serrations into one of her shell blades with a heavy rock that was whittled down to a point for such delicate work, just as her own dewott had shown her how to do a long time ago. The frequent maintenance kept the blade sharp and a serrated edge was far more durable.
Lian probably could have spent hours explaining how that worked and what stones were best for what tools before getting sidetracked into a discussion about Lord Kleavor’s axes or something. Dawn smiled to herself at the thought before remembering he was still out there with the rest of the wardens, enraged, delirious and in pain. Still patrolling their old homes and carrying out actions they performed as humans without understanding why.
They barely ate and accumulated countless injuries, but never died when starvation or infection should have killed them. The diseased wardens seemed quasi-immortal, though logically there must be a point where their bodies couldn’t handle anymore.
W hat a miserable way to go.
She pushed those thoughts aside and refocused on her shells, wanting to finish before it got too dark. The two samurotts were resting outside their den where the remains of the forest met the sand, Chip already asleep in the underground burrow. It felt too crowded with three adolescent otters and two alphas, even when the nest was extended with fortifying branches.
Fluffy was far too wound up to go to sleep anytime soon and was clambering over his tired parents, squeaking and whining for attention. They were making a point of ignoring him until he got bold enough to bite Rose on the forearm, getting him hoisted and lightly tossed with a half-hearted snarl that didn’t deter him.
Such behaviour may have seemed juvenile, and it was, but the dewott was close to mature enough to strike out on his own. Dawn wouldn’t be surprised if Chip decided she was ready to fend for herself and just took off in the middle of the afternoon one day.
The former human was nowhere close to a self sufficient adult and she was running out of time. She suspected the two dewotts would have been left to take care of themselves had it not been for the rift. Many pokémon were behaving strangely; staying in their dens unless absolutely necessary, avoiding seeking out mates, or ignoring traditional migratory routes. The samurotts likely wanted to keep an eye on them for a little longer with everything that was going on.
A large shadow silently passed overhead and Fluffy stiffened before darting into the burrow, Briar and Rose suddenly alert. The shadow was possibly a hungry staraptor they hadn’t heard approach, willing to try and snatch up a dewott right in front of its parents now that pickings were getting slim. Alternatively, it could have been one of the wardens, although Mai and Ingo were never that silent.
Dawn gripped the shell blade she was working on tightly until the shadow’s owner made another pass and a white bodied pokémon with red and blue markings came into view. The samurotts relaxed when they saw it was just a togekiss, but Dawn’s eyes widened at the unmistakable cap and large travel pack.
It was Volo! He was scanning the area for something and seemed to have found it when his eyes met hers and gracefully touched down. The alphas tilted their heads in his direction out of mild curiosity, wondering what business he had.
“Found you at last! I was looking everywhere for you, simply beside myself with worry.”
A feeling of apprehension settled in her stomach at the knowledge that she would have to explain that she had no interest in the merchant’s relic hunt or what the rest of the Survey Corps were doing.
“It just wouldn’t do to lose one of my best customers so I took it upon myself to search for you. And you’re quite fortunate to have found such excellent caretakers.“
Dawn bristled at the condescension in his words and the assumption she needed to be looked after like some helpless kid. Like being one of the most knowledgeable and skilled trainers in the region and a champion that faced off against hardened criminals accounted for nothing.
Well, he wasn’t wrong. A pokémon journey taught you many thing, but long term survival in such hostile wilderness was a whole different ball game.
She did need their help. From getting enough food to finding shelter, she was struggling to acclimate to her harsh reality and a bleeding heart wildly out of her depth.
But not for long. She’d learn all the necessary skills and purge the naivety and weakness holding her back. Until she was as mercenary and hard hearted as the samurotts that didn’t need anyone’s charity.
So why did the idea of just telling the merchant to take a hike feel so daunting?
“Do you know where the rest of the Survey Corps are?” she asked, feigning politeness. “They should have left Jubilife with all of the pokémon by now.”
“Of course I do, I wouldn’t be much of a merchant if I didn’t keep up on current events.”
He puffed out his chest feathers with the remark.
“They’re all lying low in a far away corner of Hisui along with the pokémon and any other odd survivor. Completely safe from the clan leaders and their wardens. The owner of the retreat kindly granted us somewhere to stay and her invitation is extended to you too, of course.”
So they had found some small nugget of civilization and would no doubt expect her to return to business as usual. Put her life in danger for basic necessities that could be taken away on a whim.
She could already imagine the shocked and dismayed looks on their faces at her refusal, the demands for explanations and arguments. Anxiety squirmed in her stomach at the thought of being stuck defending her choice from the remainder of the Survey Corps. Dawn would have to remain firm here to avoid such a confrontation or see if she could find some way to weasel her way out of joining Volo.
“It’s no palace, but it can serve as a decent base of operations and it certainly beats being raised by mightyenas,” he said, giving a pointed look in the direction of the den.
“I’ll be sure to say thanks...”
“You had us all quite worried, but there will be plenty of time to catch up on the way over.”
He extended a wing behind her back to guide her along, but she ducked out from under his feathers to stand her ground. There was no clever way out of this and it was now or never.
“No, I’m staying here.”
“I’m sorry?” Volo did a double take, unsure he heard her right.
“I said ‘no.’ Everyone that gives me a place to stay wants me to do dangerous chores for them and they can just take it away for no reason. If I’m going to have to put my life at risk, I don’t want to rely on anyone but myself.”
A dark look flitted across his face, similar to when a pokémon was using nasty plot, but it vanished just as quick. He let out an exaggerated sigh of defeat as he turned away.
“I see. Well, it should at least put the rest of the Galaxy Team’s minds at ease to know you’re alive. But I just can’t stop thinking about the wardens suffering out there.”
The merchant stole a glance back to check if his words had the desired effect, but Dawn remained impassive.
“Warden Ingo showed up in Hisui one day with no memories, just like you. Do you suppose there are people looking for him?”
Dawn felt a prickling guilt battling against her own feelings of betrayal. It wasn’t Ingo’s fault any of this happened and he couldn’t be held responsible for what happened in Lady Sneasler’s den, no matter how hurt she felt.
”Such a sad fate and they’d never even know what happened to him.”
The girl wondered many times where the warden came from and who he left behind. If his family was still looking for him. She strongly suspected he was from the same time period as her and it was why she promised to take him back with her. In order to keep her promise she was prepared to track down and fight whatever legendary she had to, but everything since then had left her feelings so muddled and her conscious so conflicted.
“Excuse us, but would you mind if we borrowed her for a moment to speak in private?” Rose stepped forward to ask.
Despite the politeness, it wasn’t really a request. Volo’s own affliction turned him into an alpha himself, but he looked small next to the samurotts, barely coming up to chest height.
“Not at all.”
The togekiss made a brief flight a short distance away that wasn’t really out of earshot.
“What do you think I should do? I want to help the wardens, but I don’t want to risk my life for people that can just kick me out if they feel like it.” Dawn asked, hoping Volo wouldn’t overhear her panicked whispering.
“What if I die trying to get the rest of the plates. What if the plates don’t do anything and they blame me again?”
“Frankly, I think the Nobles’ servants are beyond saving and they’re fools for not putting them down,” Briar said.
The former human couldn’t decide if she felt relieved or disappointed by his response.
“So you think I should stay with you?”
“We’re saying only you can decide that,” Rose clarified. “Neither of us really understand why the Nobles go to such lengths to protect those human towns. They’re certainly powerful enough that they don’t need a human to serve them, but I suppose they care about them in the same way most pokémon care about their own pack or offspring.”
“If I may be completely honest, I doubt you’ll survive the winter on your own,” Briar added.
Her insistence that she’d thrive on her own had been battling against a contrary anxiety at the back of her mind, an anxiety she didn’t fully allow herself to consider. But the samurott just went and confirmed what she feared deep down; that she wasn’t cut out for this and would die out here. Dawn felt like she was just a child playing pretend at being a hardened survivalist and looked down, crestfallen.
“So I don’t really have a choice.”
The alpha leaned down, his eyes surprisingly soft and wide with understanding.
“You always have a choice. The ability to depend on your blade and yourself is what makes those choices meaningful. But neither path is going to be easy.”
Rose gave a faint smile of encouragement.
“The best thing you can do is choose what matches your beliefs, so what do you value?”
Dawn shook her head. “I don’t know anymore. Right now I just want to survive.”
“Then what gives you the best odds of survival?” Briar asked.
She stopped to ponder the question. All the times she thrived in modern Sinnoh and ancient Hisui were when she had pokémon by her side and was able to plan and strategize. When there was hot food and decent bedding to go back to and people to fall back on if things got dicey.
Was spite really worth it?
She couldn’t imagine carrying on like this. Maybe she should just swallow her pride and go crawling back, do whatever they wanted for a roof over her head.
“No,” Dawn decided quickly.
She would be willing to work for her keep if she had to, but she would not go back out there when no one else had to. Perhaps they wouldn’t kick her out for being unable to solve all their problems this time. At the very least she could get her pokémon back; it would be a relief to have them by her side if she had to move on.
“I’ve always been at my best when I have a group of pokémon to work with. I’m better at solving a problem by understanding their strengths and weaknesses with teamwork than hunting or fighting myself.”
The patriarch bowed his head.
“Then there’s not much more we can teach you.”
A familiar ringtone came from the hollow tree stump she had stashed all of her old belongings in, her Arc phone updated with where she should head next. She retrieved her satchel and the phone within it, glad she hadn’t pitched it into the sea like she’d been sorely tempted to do.
Dawn returned to the samurott pair, her eyes watering as gratitude welled up from inside her. Her own hardships didn’t have to be their responsibility, but they decided to include her in what they chose to care about.
“Thank you for everything.”
The samurotts nodded silently before plodding back towards their den. There wasn’t really anything else that needed to be said to a dewott ready to leave the nest. Dawn put on her scarf and headkerchief as she ran down the mixture of ash and sand towards Volo, who was busy pretending he wasn’t trying to eavesdrop.
“Oh, have you changed your mind?”
The girl merely adjusted her satchel in preparation for the journey.
“I’m ready to go.”
“Excellent! I knew you’d come to your senses.” Volo lifted off and flew shortly above the charred remains of the forest. “If you’ve finished saying your goodbyes, we can get there early enough to manage a good nights sleep.”
Dawn looked back over her shoulder for one last look at the den before following the merchant to wherever this mysterious retreat was.

First kiss headcanons for Sam, Monsoon and Raiden?
RAIDEN
Tumblr media
You and Raiden have known each other for a very long time.
You always tried to support each other and communicate.
Gradually, you began to have romantic feelings for Raiden, and it was quite difficult to hide it when you could see that he was ill, or he was injured.
However, I had to be silent in a rag. It would have greatly harmed his work, and he did not want to hear a clear refusal in order to completely break his heart.
However, when Raiden returned from the fight with Armstrong and you met him, it was hard to contain your emotions.
You hugged him tightly, nuzzling his shoulder, and tried to hold back the tears. Raiden looked at you in surprise, but hesitantly hugged you back.
- I confess honestly, I have long missed not fighting with some person, but simply hugging someone. Like now. - Sincerely admitted the man, trying not to harm you.
"I missed you, Raiden." You softly answered, looking anywhere but into his eyes.
Perfect moment to confess, right? However, you were afraid. You were sure of a refusal on his part. This whole situation with Rose... She obviously couldn't leave Jack alone. However, you are so tired of being silent ...
But you failed to say anything.
Raiden already wanted to let go of you, but you made an impulsive decision, namely, to kiss Raiden. Which is what you did.
The metal jaw prevented you from fully kissing your loved one, but now you did not care.
Raiden was shocked, but did not push away. Instead, he pulled you closer and tried to at least fake a kiss.
All the same, the jaw really was interfering at this point.
JETSTREAM SAM
Tumblr media
Probably for this to happen, you really have to be a very important and close person in Sam's life.
Given his entire history of falling into the desperado, he has his fears, his secrets, his secrets, and other.
However, he could always trust you.
You fell in love with how Sam could trust you, show the real you and not be the alpha male in a fight. He could hug you, thank you for something, or just laugh at something with you.
Before the final battle with Raiden, Sam prepared. You looked at it nervously, realizing that this might be your last meeting if Raiden wins...
You need to confess at least now, feel the love, before you can really lose the chance.
And you approach Sam with these thoughts.
- Sam... Can I do something for you before you leave? - You muttered, intertwining your fingers with each other in excitement.
- Of course, Y/N. Why not? - Sam asks, smiling.
You rise on your toes and kiss Sam uncertainly, but giving through this kiss all your love and affection that you have accumulated for such a long time.
Sam pretends to be surprised, but the next moment he kisses you back, with passion and a desire to answer just like you did.
MONSOON
Tumblr media
He was always attracted to you (ironically), and liked to chat, gossip and drink coffee.
However, you never expected anything more.
You were having a casual conversation, and then the topic about partners and else on came up.
Monsoon looked at you strangely, as if lost in thought, while you were telling him your situations. You looked inquiringly, when suddenly, he kissed you sharply.
A short but memorable kiss that leaves you confused.

GUYS OMG
so I took a nap and had a weird dream which I barely remember but as soon as I woke up a memory from years ago hit me suddenly.
This one time in like 7th grade, our class was supposed to conduct a morning assembly for janamashtami a day before the festival. And we were performing a raasleela with all the gopis right. So I was selected to be in the center as like Radha with another girl who was playing krishna. And I was so excited even though back then I hadn't realised just how much I loved kanha, but since childhood I had found myself very close to him. So my happiness was through the roof and we were supposed to meet at my friend's house to choreograph the dance but there was no one that could drop me and we barely had a weekend to prepare and on top of all that I got sick and had to back out.
It's safe to say I felt absolutely heartbroken and I remember crying at night that one gloomy Saturday, partly also because i felt left out from my friend group, and dancing had been my sole comfort back then. We had the assembly on Monday and I was so sad the morning I went to school and saw all the girls dressed up all pretty and almost cried and guess what IT STARTED RAINING!
Our assembly happened in the ground and back then there used to be only outdoor stage in our school. So they had to cancel the assembly and the dance didn't happen and I remember feeling so surprised that day because even tho it was monsoon, the weather has been sunny early in the morning and it rained out of the blue.
And suddenly I thought of it today and realised what if kanha did that to save me from that sadness because I wholeheartedly believe I would've cried that day in front of everyone.
Kanha was like, "nah my girl ain't crying, not on my watch"
MAYBE IM IN DELUSION BUT IT MAKES SENSE RIGHT???
This whole thing has me smiling like a fool.

Of Magic, Miracles, and Moonlight
a Stephen Strange x OFC Romance
genre: pre-Infinity War, slow burn romance, older man/younger woman, teacher/student to friends to lovers characters: Stephen Strange, Wong, Teyla of Hadeeth (OFC), Moraine of Hadeeth (OC), additional OCs as Kamar-Taj staff rating: general audience to begin with, later chapters contain 18+ material
Ch.One | Ch.Two
Tumblr media
Chapter Three
Normally, Masters conducted training in a variety of disciplines, in the main courtyard, or in the smaller open air spaces of the Kamar-Taj complex, regardless of the weather--for sorcerers-in-training required preparation enough to utilize their skills in unpredictable or adverse conditions.  Even during monsoon season, this policy was seldom suspended, with the occasional rare exception; and by long-standing tradition, outdoor sessions were canceled only at the discretion of The Ancient One.  Since her loss, such a situation had not yet arisen—so it was inevitable that such should fall in a week where Stephen was in residence there, far from his place as Master of the New York Sanctum.
From June through early September, Kathmandu saw rain daily, with intermittent evening thunderstorms.  Steven Strange felt every day of that rain as a heightened ache in nearly every joint of his hands.  He hadn’t needed to check Doppler radar online to know that a doozey of a storm was headed their way; he’d felt the drop in barometric pressure several hours in advance, and the damp in the air announced itself spectacularly in a persistent, bone-deep throb that did it’s best to distract him from every task he set himself to.  Adding insult to injury, his tremors had intensified to the point of equaling those of the beginning months of his recovery.  Meditation helped to some extent, but the discomfort remained a constant, like white noise in the background as he moved throughout his day.  He kept to himself most of the day, focusing in the later hours on preparing himself to meet with Teyla for their first “lesson”, scheduled after the evening meal.
The winds lashed the rain against his back, while he crossed a courtyard lit by the flash of lightning, the peal of thunder distant enough to inform him that the worst of the storm had finally passed overhead.
She was waiting for him in the library, as they’d arranged, engrossed in a text he recognized from his own early studies, and scribbling notes in a hand that would rival the worst of any doctors’ that he’d known.
Stephen cleared his throat to announce his arrival, but Teyla’s eyes remained cast upon the book in front of her.  “Come here often?” he quipped, vying for her attention, swiftly realizing she probably wouldn’t get the humor of that old, banal pick-up line.  He set his rucksack on the table, then took the seat opposite her.
She looked up with a start, then smiled sheepishly, “I’m sorry, Doctor Strange—I got a little lost doing the translation here.”  She slid the book across the table to him.  “It’s the third passage down.  I can’t tell if it’s require or recommend.”
He read the passage through, recalling the difficulties for Novices, of translating Sanskrit on sight—made doubly hard, he reckoned, as she might need to translate it first to English, and then into Hadeethan.  “It’s ‘pay no heed to’,” he told her, pointing to several words proceeding it, “You need to look at it in context to get the true meaning.”  He slid the book back to her.
“Oh—of course!  Now it makes sense.” She crossed the incorrect word off her notes, than laid her pencil down, “Thank you, Doctor.  I have been stuck a while, trying to work it out.”
Strange reached into his rucksack and pulled his tablet out.  “I’ve found this indispensable for translating ancient languages—saves a helluva lot of time.”  He handed it to Teyla, who looked immediately perplexed by the device.  “I don’t suppose you’ve got one of these,” he asked.  She shook her head solemnly.  “Okayyyyy—well how about I leave this with you for the evening?  It’ll make the hours ahead much more productive for you.”
“That is very kind of you, Doctor Strange, although…well…I have no idea how this thing…”
“This tablet,” he told her.
“Oh. This…tablet.  I have no skill with such a tool.”  She offered it back to him.
“Well, this one isn’t difficult at all.  Let me run through its functions for you, and I’ll bet you’ll be breezing through it in no time.”
Stephen went over the basics, and then showed her how to access various websites pertinent to her studies, including a translation site that he had relied on to get him through his early training.  Once she got over her initial distrust of the technology as a sufficient aid for study, Teyla adapted readily, and proved to have a defter hand with it than he had anticipated
Next, he removed several books from his pack and set two of them in front of her. “Now, these texts provide an introduction to clairvoyance and divination.  I want you to take some time over the next couple of days, read them through.”  Teyla picked one up, and then the other, running her fingers across the titles embossed on the covers.  “I’ve bookmarked some sections that I think have a direct bearing on what we’re trying to accomplish here,” he told her, “And if you feel ready, I encourage you to try what exercises you find worth your efforts.”
“I will do my best,” she nodded, “Master Salma said I will be mapping unchartered territory.”  She looked down, quietly admitting, “I find it all…very…intimidating.”
“No one will be judging you, Teyla.”  She met his eyes at that, searching for assurances.  “I promise,” he added, “And if we’re lucky, Kamar-Taj will learn as much from you, and you from us.”
Relief dawned first in her eyes, and then spread softly across her face, “I must admit my mentors on Hadeeth were frustrated when they could not provide teaching enough for me to harness and refine my raw ability for divination.  I pray that your efforts to guide me will not be a waste of your valuable time.”
“No effort to teach is wasted when the student is sincere in their desire to learn,” he assured her, his voice low and persuasive, “And that is something I’ve learned as both a student and a teacher myself—and not just of the mystics arts.  My medical training was more than a decade long process.”
Strange pulled a plain, leather bound book and pen from the side pocket of his rucksack, “One of the simplest things you can do is keep a record of your dreams.  The texts advise you do so nightly—or at least as often as you are able to recall your dreams upon awakening.”  He slid the items across the table to her.  “Whatever details you can remember without concentrating too hard—otherwise your waking mind will try to add definition to things that don’t make sense…”
Teyla nodded, growing excited, “Why yes—immediately record the images and the events of my dreams.  How have I not thought of this myself!  To keep a…a dream…”
“…journal,” they finished together.  She grinned at him, “Your wisdom has already surpassed that of my Hadeethan teachers.”
He chuckled, “As much as I’d like to, I can’t take credit for the idea, Teyla; it’s a basic beginning in most of these texts.  Keep in mind, your best results will come from writing down your first thoughts, no matter how confusing or jumbled they may be.  Don’t give your mind a chance to filter or rearrange them in a search for meaning.”
“Yes, yes,” she murmured, “I understand…”
“And your feelings, Teyla.  How you felt throughout the dream—and how you feel upon awakening.  Even if you wake mid-dream, or in the middle of the night,” he stressed, “Write it down.  This should help us see patterns in your dreaming, and eventually enable you to distinguish normal dreams from the prophetic ones.”
And there it was:  that light in her eyes and upon her face that reminded him of the simple joy of having an avenue of learning open up before him.  As exacting as his medical studies had been, there had always been the deep satisfaction of just knowing he was on the path to knowledge meant for him.  And again as he began his studies at Kamar-Taj.  As a physician, Stephen had seen that light from time to time, in his best student interns—and had forgotten it could be equally satisfying to the teacher who invoked it in their charges.  From a task he’d initially dreaded, he was suddenly glad the situation had forced him to become Teyla’s mentor.

Pleased that he had actually given Teyla something concrete in the way of guidance, Stephen asked how she was faring in her other training.  Though she maintained that she would have no need for the physical defensive skills when she returned to Hadeeth, she admitted she was impressed watching the Masters of those disciplines at work—and that she felt every moment of her own workouts in the aching muscles that followed in the aftermath.
“Oh yes, they can hurt like hell the first week or so,” he laughed, “But I guarantee you’ll feel fitter than you have in your whole life by the end of the second.”
Eventually, their conversation made its way back to the subject of her studies with Stephen.  “The texts I’ve read so far--I have to admit that they’ve left me curious, Teyla.  Would you mind telling me what it’s like?”
“The…the dreams?”  She seemed surprised he had asked so plainly.
“Yes.  How do they work, exactly?”
Her face scrunched and her eyes took on a faraway look as she considered how to answer.  “The dreams have always been with me, as…as far back as my memory goes.  As a child, I had no idea they were any different from the dreams of others—and so I found no need to speak of them aloud.”
Quietly, Stephen prompted her, “So when did you realize that they were different?”
Teyla’s voice and manner grew solemn as her recollection came to life.  “I was…hmmm…seven years of age.  Seven Earth years.  And I had dreamed a dream for three nights straight—of my closest friend, Meandra.  It was a simple dream, and I had no inclination to question it.”  She closed her eyes, enrapt in the pictures her mind created.  “Meandra slept beneath a midnight, moonlit sky.  Fast asleep; she lay upon a bed of moss beside a small creek.”  Her mouth drew into a small, fleeting smile.  “My child’s mind believed the dream arose from anticipation of a nature walk our teacher had promised to us.  I would never have guessed it was a dream of warning.”
“Teyla,” he murmured, “Whatever happened, I’m sure you shouldn’t have blamed yourself.”
She sighed and looked back to him.  “Child that I was, it could not be helped.  When Meandra wandered away from the group, nobody noticed until we prepared to leave the forest.  The adults searched well into the night, but found no sign of her.  We all feared that she was lost to us.”
Stephen remained silent, considering the weight of guilt she may have borne, and at so tender an age.  Seeing his concern, Teyla shook her head, “No, good Doctor, it was not a fatal loss—though if I had been less afraid, I might have ended everyone’s woes all the sooner.”  She shrugged, and cast her eyes away shamefully, “Through a bitter night, I struggled with my fear that a simple word of warning might have spared Meandra losing her way.  And even worse, I fretted that through my dreams, I had worked some sort of dark magic as I slept, which might have cost my friend her life.”
Compelled by sympathy, Stephen took her hand—gingerly, for the continuing discomfort in his own.  “You were just a girl; surely no one could expect more of you,” he reminded her, “I hope someone was wise enough to tell you so.”
“Indeed,” she nodded, “With the dawn, I sought my mother out, and revealed my dreadful secret.  She bid me wait but a little, so that she could give the searchers a description of where Meandra might be found—and when she returned to me, she gave me only love and comfort.”  Teyla’s pretty eyes were soft with that memory.  “Meandra was not too worse for wear, and was swiftly reunited with her family.  And after I had rested a while—still afraid to sleep, lest I might dream dreadfully—Mother explained the nature of my gift.  She called it a blessing, and told me it promised a noble destiny if I could learn to use it for the good of my people.”
Resisting the urge to tell Teyla that laying such a charge on a seven year old was extremely poor parenting, Stephen ventured a guess, “I suppose she feels you’ve come of age to fulfill that destiny?”
“Even so,” she admitted, “But know, good Doctor, that this is my hope as well.”
“Of course,” he told her, “I would expect no less.”  Strange withdrew his hand from hers, beginning to gather up the few materials which he now judged too elementary for Teyla to find of use.  He winced as he lifted one of the heavier volumes, cursing under his breath as he lost his grip and it landed on the table; the thud echoed through the quiet of the library.
Teyla met his eyes for only seconds, but he read her clear understanding in that brief moment, before she looked to his hands.  There was no hiding the tremor in them, but he tried to make light of the moment; sighing with feigned exasperation, “I need to remember this sort of heavy reading requires both hands to be effective.”  His self-deprecation fell short of lightening the moment.
“It is the rain, is it not,” she asked cautiously, although Stephen was sure she knew the answer already.  Teyla’s eyes lingered once again upon his hands, as though committing the network of scars to memory.
“Yes,” he shrugged, downplaying the degree of his discomfort, “Nature’s little way of keeping me humble.”
“Yet the magic you have worked with them is already legend among the students here.”  She smiled at his surprise, “Did you not know?”
Stephen clucked his tongue, “Yeah…well…legends are usually half exaggeration anyway.  At least here on Earth.  You should take those stories with a grain of salt, Teyla.”
“As you wish, Doctor Strange—but their unstinting admiration of your deeds is genuine.”  Demurely, she cast her eyes away and added, “A true hero I have heard you called; one who single-handedly battled one of the darkest forces in the multi-verse.”
Stephen waved her praise off (the simple movement enough to set the joints in that hand throbbing again), “Honestly, Teyla—I only did what any Master here would do if faced with such a catastrophic threat.”
The tilt of her head and her sympathetic little smile spoke her response well enough, leaving Strange feeling a bit self-conscious.  Standing up to leave, he would have changed the subject, but that she asked after his hands again.  Irritated at her dogged attention to his private pain, he tried his best to answer impassively, “I appreciate your concern, Teyla of Hadeeth, but this is a topic Id rather not discuss.”
“Forgive me please, Doctor Strange.  I would not, for all the world, bring you further pain in this regard.”  Teyla bit her lip, looking uncertain for several moments.  “Please, do not be angry—but as we have discussed my dreams—and as I am under your tutelage in this regard--there is something I must share with you.”
Between the fresh flare of pain in both his hands—and Teyla’s seeming obsession with his wounds—Stephen’s patience was nearly frayed; he inhaled sharply, “What must you share, that cannot wait for another day?”
The young woman from another world blinked several times, her eyes misted over with unshed tears.  “It is only that…that…”
“Yes,” he asked through gritted teeth.
“I have dreamt of your hands, Doctor.  And not only since I arrived at Kamar-Taj.”  Visibly trembling, Teyla rose from her seat, to face him squarely across the cold distance between them, “I have dreamt your hands many times over, from the day I came to Earth to live with my father…and in the ten Earth years since.”

Tumblr media
Introduction: Nestled amidst the lush landscapes of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur stands as a bustling metropolis where modernity meets tradition. From towering skyscrapers to bustling street markets, this vibrant city offers a myriad of experiences for travelers year-round. However, discerning the best time to visit Kuala Lumpur can elevate your journey, ensuring optimal weather conditions, cultural festivities, and memorable adventures.
Weather Patterns: Kuala Lumpur experiences a tropical rainforest climate, characterized by high humidity and consistent temperatures throughout the year. Understanding the city's weather patterns is crucial for planning a comfortable and enjoyable trip. The months of May to July and December to February typically offer drier weather, with fewer instances of rainfall and pleasant temperatures ideal for outdoor exploration.
Festive Celebrations: Immersing oneself in Kuala Lumpur's cultural tapestry is an experience not to be missed. Planning your visit during major festivals provides a unique opportunity to witness the city's vibrant traditions and celebrations. Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Aidilfitri, and Deepavali are among the most significant festivals, offering mesmerizing displays, delicious cuisine, and a glimpse into Malaysia's diverse heritage.
Off-Peak Seasons: While peak tourist seasons may offer optimal weather conditions, exploring Kuala Lumpur during off-peak periods can unveil hidden gems and provide a more authentic experience. Consider visiting during shoulder seasons, such as March to April or September to November, to avoid crowds and enjoy discounted rates on accommodations and attractions.
Outdoor Activities: For outdoor enthusiasts, choosing the right time to visit Kuala Lumpur can enhance opportunities for adventure. The dry months of May to July and December to February are ideal for exploring iconic landmarks like the Petronas Twin Towers, Batu Caves, and Kuala Lumpur Bird Park, without the interruption of heavy rainfall. Additionally, outdoor activities such as hiking and nature walks are best enjoyed during these periods.
Weather Considerations: Despite its tropical climate, Kuala Lumpur experiences occasional rainfall throughout the year. Travelers should be prepared for brief afternoon showers, especially during the monsoon seasons from April to October. Rain World: Monsoon - Influence Of Beliefs(IOB)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hey everyone! It's been a while! Apologies for the delay since my first announcement, I'll do my best to keep things up to date. So, in my previous(and first ever) post, I said I was going to present my iterators. So, let's take a look at our first iterator, Infuence Of Beliefs. PART I - INTRODUCTION One of the oldest among his local group, Beliefs's creation happened during a disagreement between ancients with different beliefs(ironically), which led to a war between both sides, with iterators in that era being created as weapons rather than machines made to solve problems. Due to having enough resistance, and to having a bit of luck, he survived the war. PART II - THE PATH AHEAD A while after that, the ancients who won the war began a journey, leaded by Sliver Of Straw and Influence Of Beliefs(which actually were best friends) in order to find a solution for the Great Problem. With both having already a decent knowledge, aswell as intuition and a great array of technology avaible to themselves, they took the lead of the Sliverists. Both were equally confident to find a better way out of that world, at any costs. Due to extreme respect to Sliver, IOB let the group be named after her. Despite both being really advanced, he always saw her as someone superior to him. And, with hopes that this would make him forget about the mayhem he was created from, decided to partake on helping her. PART III - HESITATION However, as time passed, Beliefs started to realize how pointless it was. He didn't want it to end like that. Why it all had to go off like this? He admitted he was a little afraid of what he could meet upon entering the other side, but unlike him, Sliver was optimistic, and eager to find the solution, thinking it could end up well. When they finally found a solution, the ancients who seemed to care so much about them and idolize them, all vanished. Both were then left alone. A little heartbroken, his friend decided to isolate herself from all. All but him. He decided to console her after all of this, and deemed the solution as something dangerous. During his time, he loosened up, and began to feel more attached to Sliver. Attempts were made to encourage her to give up on finding a solution, and he tried to convince her that living was a better option. PART IV - DiVERGENCE But Sliver refused. She had gone too far, and she did not want to stop there. She kept on working, fending Beliefs away for a bit. He grew more and more concerned of her, but didn't want to repress her or sound rude, so he just let her do what she wanted. He was trying to prepare himself for the worst. He did not want to ascend, but he did not want Sliver to go. Unfortunately, by the time he finally built up the courage to speak to her, she was already gone. She succeeded, and left a pearl behind for him. Sunken in despair, Beliefs entered a panic attack, nearly making himself collapse because of it. He was filled with regret. PART V - DELUSION He knew he couldn't save Sliver, as she was already dead, but he knew he could save the other iterators. It wasn't too late. Driven by his erratic thoughts, he began to mass create supersoldier units to do his bidding, and crafted many dangerous weapons in order to increase his own (fire)power. Ascension was too dangerous, as you never knew where you could end up on. It was too good to be true. Therefore, he deemed that turning the world into a realm of echos would be safer, as echos are immortal, and can be seen by the ones around them, therefore there's no risk on turning into a echo. Or so he thought. CREDITS TO FRIENDS FOR THE ART!! Beliefs drawn by @covchapman and @sweetaru1 ! The Sinner(will likely explain more about them in a future post btw) drawn by @localceilingdevil ! Expect more of those soon!

MGR office au part 5 - a day in the life of Mistral
Tumblr media
Mistral returned to her room and placed her money that she had won from Sam in her purse. Her luxury Chanel purse. After all, her blood demanded that she only use the finest things from France. She sat down in her "chair" (that she had made from multiple dwarf gekkos) and began to sigh. Unless she was near her boss Armstrong or working at her job, she found her days quite dull.
She went over to her night stand and brushed her thumb over her hardcopy of L'Étranger longingly. She looked over the walls of her room (which totally did not look like a bdsm dungeon) and decided that tomorrow was the day that she would win the heart of her boss. She soon went to sleep and the dwarf gekkos were just glad that they had survived another night of not being torn apart to become furniture or to be used as a fisting toy.
Dawn of the First Day - 72 hours remain -
What better way to a man's heart than through his stomach? Mistral was used to doing the saying more literally than figuratively but she figured that she should give cooking a chance. After all, many of the greatest chefs were French. She looked over several cook books and decided that she would make duck confit. She had cured it last night so all that was needed to be done was to cook it. She placed the duck in the pan and coated it in fat, then added a layer of foil. She set the oven to 210°F and all that was left was to let it slow cook over the next eight hours.
While she waited she decided the best way to kill time was to do some shopping. Off she went to buy more Dior products. After a long day she returned to headquarters and went to check on the oven in the kitchen. To her horror, the door was left wide open and her duck confit was gone. "Merde, my food!" She then heard what sounded like a racoon gnawing on something. She looked under the table and found the cause. "SUNDOWNER!" There was her coworker hunched under the table, trying his best to discreetly eat a duck.
"WAIT! I CAN EXPLAIN! Listen, it just smelled so good and I was so hungry!" Her eyes narrowed. "Did I mention that I grew up in poverty?" Mistral then went on a tangent about how they all had to survive growing up and that she didn't give two shits. "You owe me, you imbecile!" She had had enough. Mistral would think of something better tomorrow.
Dawn of the Second Day - 48 hours remain -
"Alright Sundowner, here is the plan. I need you to convince Armstrong to meet me in my room." The bald man scratched his scalp. "How the hell am I supposed ta do that?" Mistral took out a dwarf gekko hand and bonked him with it. "Figure that out yourself! I must go prepare." She then promptly left to return to her room. "Woman. Can't understand em'. Well I guess I better go before she tries to stomp on my balls again."
He then went to Monsoon for help. He knocked on the door and soon the cyborg opened it. "I AM THE ONE WHO KNOCKS! Just kidding, what do you want?" Sundowner then discussed how he would set up a diversion while Monsoon would plant a note in their bosses office. "And what makes you think that I'll help you?" Half a second later and Sundowner was now holding his steam deck. Monsoon gulped. "Alright, you win."
Ah, there was Armstrong. "BOSS, I NEED YER HELP!" The Senator sighed. "What is it now?" Sundowner began to wave his arms around. "I CAN'T EXPLAIN, THERE'S NO TIME! HURRY!" Soon Armstrong was following Sundowner down the corridor. - Cut to mission Impossible music - Suddenly Monsoon is shown upside down on the ceiling. He went to turn off his anti gravity field only to come tumbling down like a jenga tower. "Fuck." After restacking his bionicle body he gently placed the note on his superiors desk. "Time to get out of here."
Finally Sundowner and Armstrong had arrived at one of the public bathrooms. "Alright, tell me what's the problem?" The man struggled to think of an excuse on the spot. " I... uh.. I.. cut myself... shaving?" Armstrong's eyes turned red. "WHAT!? YOU BROUGHT ME ALL THE WAY HERE FOR THIS!? GET OUT OF MY SIGHT BEFORE I DOCK YOUR PAY!" Once the man was gone, Sundowner slid down against the bathroom tile. "Well, I've done everythin' she told me to so she better be grateful!"
Upon returning to his personal office, Armstrong had noticed a small note on his desk. "Meet me in room 403. Your secret admirer." He began to blush. The last time anyone had fancied him was his college days. "Well let's meet this mysterious admire then." He went up to the door and opened it. He was greeted by the sight of someone laying on their stomach lazily, stark naked and they were proudly displaying their large rump. "Who is it now?" the voice called out. Armstrong walked in and got a closer look. "SAM!?"
Mistral was on her bed in an expensive pair of lingerie. "What's taking him so long?" She then heard a knock at her door and rushed to answer it, only to be greeted by Monsoon. "Oh. What do you want, I'm expecting someone?" The man chuckled. "I think you might want to see this." They walked down the hall only to hear shouting. Mistral realized it was that of her boss and her coworker Sam. "WHY ARE YOU NAKED!?" followed by "WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY ROOM!?" Soon everything clicked in her head. "SUNDOWNER!"
Dawn of the Final Day - 24 hours remain -
Mistral paced back and forth. "That's it! I'm going to let him know how I feel. And Sundowner can't ruin it for me this time!" She went down to her superiors office. "Mistral? What are you do-" She placed her finger to his lips, silencing him. "It was me all along boss. I'm your secret admirer. Je t’aime de toute mon âme. Will you be mine?" Her boss readjusted his glasses. "I'm flattered Mistral, but I'll tell you what I already told Sundowner. (Sundowner? Her mind went blank.) I make it a habit not to let my love life be involved with my work. In other words, I don't date clients. I'm sure you understand."
Mistral soon became lightheaded. "No way! Sundowner did this on purpose! I'll kill him!" she thought to herself and she soon passed out and fell over. "Mistral?"

Rainy Day Whump Ideas
I heard monsoon season is starting for those in other countries.
Why not prepare for it with some rainy day whump ideas
Caretaker holding the umbrella for Whumpee
Whumpee was already caught out in the rain, but they knew little about the upcoming flood
Caretaker fishing a barely alive Whumpee from the floods
Fresh water merfolk whumpee ending up out of stream after the rain got out of hand
Merfolk Whumpee being caught in pouring rain, losing their guise
Storm Elemental Whumper
Whumpee being tossed from a building out into the rain
A glasses wearing Whumpee stumbling around extra blinded by the pouring rain
A sheltered Whumpee who hasn't been outside in so long, they're reaction to the rain is inhuman
Whumpee meeting Whumper in the rain
Whumper kicking Whumpee into the mud
Fairy Winged Whumpee unable to fly in the rain
A returning whumper attacking on a stormy thundering night, Caretaker unable to hear the struggle through the clattering rain.

From the sea to a vessel
Monsoon’s flight to Babel
It is a privilege to see the world with your own eyes.
I give you full access to your birthright, the wealth I prepared for your future. Use it wisely.
My blood flows through your veins, and you are well-aware that they tampered with your flesh, as well.
To a certain extent, you are immune to the disease that plagues the surface. However, it is not a guarantee for your safety. Stay away from those black crystals as much as you can. Yet if you wish to discover its truths, then who am I to force you?
You may lack the physical strength I have, but I assure you, your wit will bring you somewhere else.
Adrian, my son, you must not return home. Aegir is in grave danger, Iberia may succumb into the maw of the beasts soon. I pray for when we meet again, both of our minds are still intact.  More here in my interactive story!
Monsoon and Flamebringer first met in the Victorian outskirts, away from the city. By this time, Monsoon had already met Kal´tsit. He considered leaving his job as someone in charge of quarantine measures in a private security firm for Rhodes Island (paramilitary org Babel, at that time) yet she already left before he decided.
The Aegir was able to contact Kal’tsit and was able to obtain coordinates yet he didn’t have the slightest idea on how to get to the landship since he was just a clueless scientist. Monsoon found a seemingly well-traveled yet nameless Sarkaz mercenary (Flamebringer, still does not go by this name) in a bar and approached him. He may not know how to get to where Kal’tsit was, at least he can pay someone to help him!
And if he did end up getting killed by this man, then so be it. The Sarkaz, though perplexed, agreed to bring him to Babel. He’s heard rumors about this unearthed landship and this one feline lady’s reported connections with Sarkaz royalty from his fellow mercenaries. **I will be referring to him as Flamebringer at this point. It’s hard to merely refer to him as a nameless Sarkaz merc.
The duo traveled for around five months by various means. They’d be lucky to be occasionally accommodated by small scale aircraft to circumvent or fly over wastelands. When they got to Babel, they kept in touch as friends. As a mercenary, Flamebringer felt the need to leave from time to time though he’d offer his services to Babel when he felt like it (mostly to just see his new Aegir friend). He eventually found a group to lead, which he’d bring to the landship. This lasted quite a while.
The doctor soon felt that seeing this one mercenary gave him joy that he hasn’t felt since he left Iberia, when he was much younger. He remembered that had a crush on one of his childhood friends before he left for Victoria… Monsoon not only enjoyed Flamebringer’s company but he fell in love with him, as well. They’d laugh and drink together, and at some point, find themselves in the same room when they turn in for the night.
Their relationship wasn’t out in the public, they went out in secret.
That is, until Monsoon was assigned to go back to his homeland…
As the only Iberian-speaking personnel in Babel at that time, Monsoon was tasked to establish connections with a local population that claimed to house lost Sarkaz sympathizers of Theresa reach out to his company. It was rather unusual for them to be in such an isolated nation (it was likely that they got stuck in there after an escort mission) but the organization was willing to help. Monsoon took a squad of a few operators with him, and eventually met with the locals. The lost Sarkaz were found, they weren’t trapping anyone, after all. The group was set to return to Babel in the morning until a number of mysterious figures, clad in the darkest of clothing, abducted Monsoon during the night. The kidnapping was undetected and quick- not a single guard noticed their arrival. The doctor was taken away by Aegirians assisted by an unknown Abyssal Hunter who was able to sense his presence due to their connection by blood. Recall that Monsoon has traces of his father Macario’s seaborn blood and was unwillingly brought to “check-ups” by his mother, much to Macario’s disgust. He was brought to Iberia by his father and was, therefore, beyond Aegir’s radar. The rogue hunters did not have a clue on who Monsoon was nor his connection to his father. They speculated that he might be a cultist who has been experimenting on seaborn blood and was hell-bent on either killing him or bringing him to the crumbling state for questioning. Despite this, Monsoon refused to disclose his familial relations in Aegir.
On their way to a hidden location, they were attacked and overwhelmed by sea terrors. The assailants, along with Monsoon, disappeared. The last persons they were in contact with were hooded figures who brought them to a farther, more secluded area in Iberia. The Babel party, along with the displaced Sarkaz, searched high and low for the doctor for around 72 hours before declaring him MIA. Monsoon went missing. Apart from his belongings in the camp, he left no trace. It was all too sudden for Kal’tsit to sanction his non-appearance yet word reached the other personnel, including a contractual Sarkaz mercenary who’d frequently visited the doctor. He’s lost several people and yet this one hurt more than it should.
Not to mention the young cautus girl who Monsoon took under his wing felt restless for days, looking for the person who took care of her in her parents’ absence. Seven months passed since the Doctor vanished. Babel intercepted a message from an unverified channel, near Rim Billiton. The voice sounded familiar- Monsoon has returned as if nothing happened despite looking off! Babel hurriedly sent a squad to pick him up from his location.
Amiya noticed that his eye color changed, and his hair turned into a paler blue. His mannerisms felt different, as if he lacked regard for the world. Kal’tsit feared the worst. While the threat from the sea is not as known to the public compared to Oripathy, her long life alerted her of what was to come. It was hard to simply throw the doctor out at that point. Flamebringer was concerned, as his friend, since he knew the doctor prior to when he went to Babel.
The doctor was still an excellent commander and yet his methods changed. Prior to when he was kidnapped, he was much more benevolent, though imperfect. Monsoon´s background in private security made him familiar with how to manage armies and to lead them away from danger. This time, however, he became someone who believed that the ¨end justifies the means.” Several operators were lost under his leadership. This bothered Kal’tsit, the elite operators, as well as a few mercenaries including Flamebringer. There came a point when he was tasked to command Flamebringer’s swordsman platoon, with the latter as leader. The traitors were slain and the objective was secured yet the Sarkaz were led to their deaths. Flamebringer was left for dead by his commanding officer. Spite, hatred, and betrayal filled his now-empty heart. He severed his ties with Rhodes Island and left without a trace to travel the world once again. Well, what did he expect? He was a mere merc. Mercenaries are meant to be thrown away after they serve their purpose, like disposable utensils. There’s no such thing as bonds or love…

Gas-based power plants to be activated to meet summer electricity demand
To address the escalating electricity demand during the summer season, the Government of India has announced plans to activate gas-based power plants. In a bid to maximize power generation from these stations, the government has issued directives to all gas-based generating stations under Section 11 of the Electricity Act, 2003. This section empowers the government to specify that a generating company must operate and maintain a generating station as per government directions in extraordinary circumstances. Currently, a significant portion of gas-based generating stations remains underutilised, mainly due to commercial considerations. The order issued under Section 11, similar to the approach taken for imported-coal-based power plants, aims to enhance the availability of power from gas-based generating stations during the upcoming high-demand period. This order is effective for the generation and supply of power from May 1, 2024, to June 30, 2024. GRID-INDIA to coordinate gas-based power supply Under this arrangement, GRID-INDIA will notify gas-based generating stations in advance of the number of days for which gas-based power is required. Gas-based generating stations that hold Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with Distribution Licensees are required to offer their power to PPA holders first. Any unutilized power will then be offered in the power market. Gas-based generating stations without PPAs must offer their generation in the power market. To facilitate the implementation of this directive, a high-level committee chaired by the Chairperson of the Central Electricity Authority has been formed. This decision to activate gas-based generating stations is part of a broader strategy by the Government of India to ensure sufficient power availability during the summer season. Union Minister for Power and New & Renewable Energy Shri R. K. Singh has convened several meetings to underscore the importance of ensuring an adequate power supply to meet the demand during the hot weather. In addition to the activation of gas-based generating stations, the government has implemented several other measures to address the summer demand: - Planned maintenance of power plants will be rescheduled to the monsoon season. - New capacity additions will be expedited. - Partial outages of thermal power plants will be minimised. - Surplus power from captive generating stations will be utilised. - Section 11 Directions have been issued for imported-coal-based power plants to ensure full capacity availability for generation. - Hydro power generation will be shifted to peak hours. - Advanced planning by all stakeholders will ensure coal availability. India's electricity demand has been steadily increasing, driven by economic growth, particularly during hot-weather and high-demand periods. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted above-normal maximum temperatures across most parts of the country for the 2024 hot weather season. The above-mentioned measures are being undertaken to prepare for the anticipated high electricity demand during this period. Read the full article

Welcome, fellow visual storytellers, to Drift House! Today, we set our sights on the vibrant city of Phoenix, Arizona – a treasure trove for videographers seeking diverse landscapes, pulsating energy, and a touch of the Wild West. Whether you're a seasoned professional or a budding enthusiast with a camera in hand, Phoenix offers a stunning backdrop for your next project.
A City of Contrasts: Urban Chic Meets Natural Grandeur
Phoenix boasts a unique blend of urban sophistication and breathtaking natural beauty. Glittering skyscrapers pierce the sky in the downtown core, while just beyond the city limits, majestic mountain ranges and sprawling deserts beckon adventurers. This diversity of landscapes provides a videographer's playground, allowing you to capture everything from fast-paced city life to serene desert sunsets.
Iconic Locations to Elevate Your Project
For a taste of Phoenix's urban soul, head downtown and capture the energy of bustling streets, historic landmarks like the Arizona State Capitol, or the vibrant murals that adorn many buildings.
Seeking a touch of history? Explore the Pueblo Grande Museum Archaeological Park, a fascinating glimpse into the Hohokam culture.
Nature lovers will find endless inspiration. Hike Camelback Mountain for panoramic city views, capture the otherworldly beauty of the Sonoran Desert at Papago Park, or film the majestic cacti at the Desert Botanical Garden.
Beyond the Tourist Trail: Hidden Gems for the Discerning Videographer
Phoenix offers more than just iconic landmarks. Venture into the Roosevelt Row Arts District to capture the city's vibrant art scene. Explore the quirky shops and cafes of Mill Avenue in Tempe, or film the historic charm of Chandler's downtown area.
For a taste of authentic Arizona culture, head to one of the many Native American reservations to showcase traditional dances and ceremonies (always be sure to obtain permission before filming).
Technical Considerations for Filming in Phoenix
The Arizona sun is no joke!  Shooting during the midday hours can result in harsh shadows and washed-out colors.  Plan your shoots for the golden hours of sunrise and sunset, or utilize diffusers to soften the light.
Phoenix experiences a dramatic temperature swing throughout the year. Pack accordingly and be prepared to adjust your filming schedule based on the season.
Monsoon season (July-September) brings dramatic skies and occasional downpours. While these can add a unique element to your shots, be prepared for sudden weather changes and protect your equipment.
The Phoenix Videography Community: Connect, Collaborate, Create
Phoenix boasts a thriving videography community. Online forums, meetups, and workshops offer opportunities to connect with other videographers, share knowledge, and collaborate on projects.
Local camera shops often host events and offer rentals, allowing you to access top-of-the-line equipment without breaking the bank.
Phoenix: A City That Inspires Creativity
