Just finished a (delicious) megadark fic and loved it, but I know I’m not the only mentally ill girlie™️ who needs help grounding back in reality after something like that! So for those who need it, here are your nightly affirmations!

-You are safe, whole, and loved. Your kinks do not define you, nor do your fantasies, and neither make you a bad person.

-You are worthy of love and softness; make sure not to deny yourself those things either! Go read some tooth-rotting fluff if you need.

-One thing that helps me recover from an especially dark fic is to imagine a ‘post-credits’ scene wherein the cameras stop rolling and the characters break for lunch and a hot bath, like the whole thing was just a film or a porno. It’s my way of telling myself that the proverbial dog didn’t really die!

-Take care of yourself physically, too!!! Don’t forget to eat, drink some water, take your medications, and shower. And if you’ve already done all those, what helps me is curling up in bed with my favorite stuffies and getting cozy with some Lo-fi. I also like to play simple mobile games or make picrews, something menial like that helps my brain come down safely without spiraling.

-remember that your F/Os would never hurt you in a way you don’t like. Everything they do to you they know you’ll enjoy, and it’s only a fantasy. They love you dearly, they told me themself! They hope you’re taking care of yourself while they figure out a way to break through into our world from theirs. In the meantime, stay safe!!!
