Re-introduction post

I’ve been gone for quite a while, but because I’m going to start my master in neurobiology I’m going to post again!

I’m Melanie, currently 21 years old and I will be starting my master in medical biology with a specialisation in neurobiology this September.

Last June I graduated with a bachelor in Life Sciences with a specialisation in biomedical research.

Here are some short fun facts about me:

My name is Madison. I was born December 27th and I am from the United States.

Today was a beautiful day. It was one of the first moments that I have felt truly hopeful for the future and at peace with myself. This joy lead me to catch up on all of my french homework and begin to prepare for my second unit test. Although I did not finish everything on my to-do list (i.e. beginning to study for my upcoming journalism and literature exams or finalizing my news story production sheet), I am proud. I am treating myself to a spooky movie night- Hocus Pocus and Beetlegeuse- and dinner. Be kind to yourselves, kids.

For the past few days I've just been lazing around after getting to go camping this weekend. Peak productivity was making a wikipedia page for a darkling beetle I saw, Ipthiminus serratus, so no notes to show rn.

Last thing I googled: something about whether or not I should pull an all nighter in order to fix my sleep schedule (it is an actually technique btw)

Song stuck in my head: Thunder by Imagine Dragons

Number of followers: 10 I think lol

Amount of sleep: 4ish

Lucky number: 4 (I guess that means that 4 hours sleep is actually okay?)

Dream Job: plasma physicist at a fusion facility, I think, but I don't really know! I'd also be happy as a high school teacher, so I kinda keep that in the back of my mind to prevent myself from stressing too much over whether or not I'm making the right career choices.

Wearing: pj pants with penguins on them and a The Offspring t-shirt, both hand-me-downs from my sister

Favourite song: changes on the daily! Right now, probably Ivy by Taylor Swift or Twin Sized Mattress by The Front Bottoms

Favourite Instrument: i like playing piano (although I haven't in a long time) and I think it's an objectively good instrument, but I don't really like to listen to it tbh

Aesthetic: light academia (at least I try)

Favourite Author: Tolkein

Favourite animal sounds: my dog sometimes makes little grunting sounds when he's been trying to get attention and finally gets pet. He sounds like a little pig and it's adorable. I also really like hearing chickadee calls.

Random: I really like to cook & bake. I've made quite a few vegan cheeses lately, and I'm also freezing a whole bunch of food to save time during the new semester.

Can you play an instrument or would you like to learn how to play an instrument?

I can play the guitar and the ukulele (which I both learned how to play by myself, and I’m pretty proud of that!) and I would love to learn how to play piano!

I have two playlists on spotify that I listen to the most; peaceful piano and optimal focus The music doesn’t contain lyrics which helps me focus a lot better!
