I have been working on ECC recently but got so carried away so I literally run out of place on screen. So now I need to edit UI so all my sliders and categories fit lol. I drew lots of makeup masks so you will be able to have freckles instead of blush and moles instead of eyeliner and lip pigmentation for more realistic looking Shepard. And of course lash slider so you can choose between different pretty lashes.

hey does anyone know if there is any mod for Mass Effect (legendary edition) that either removes or significantly reduces the size of the giant conversation indicators or whatever they're called? I hate them so much (they're better in mass effect 2 but still annoying)

Some Mods to Consider
Tumblr media
A mod list, in no particular order and by no means exhaustive. Primarily visual and cosmetic mods. Also, note that I don’t use every mod listed below on every playthrough. I like to mix and match as well as change it up regularly.
--------
Primitives - A Facial Appearance Overhaul (a must have in my opinion)
LEUITM (I like to mix and match pieces of this with primitives)
Mass Effect - COLOR (Reshade Overhaul)
Cora Armour for Femshep (LE1) & Peebee Armour for Femshep (LE1)
A Lot Of Textures (ALOT)
MELLO
Saren Stages LE1
Alliance Uniform Consistency
MurderClan’s textures
Children of Rannoch - A Quarian Overhaul (LE1)
Liara Consistency Mod (ME2LE) (I use this for all the games, i prefer ME3 version but LOTSB is crispy too) (I also us virtually everything else by Marcus22Khaar)

Mat's Femshep Textures
Complexions for FemShep
Everything by MorningAngel
Alternate Ellise Default FemShep Retexture
(ME2LE) No Headgear for Squadmates
More Hair for Femshep (ME2LE) (and all other versions, honestly, I download virtually every hair mod that comes out on nexus)

A variety of  munchyfly work

Mass Effect LE 2 Mods
On today’s MELE mod related post I’m going to recommend a few quality-of-life mods.
Smaller Notifications - I can only speak to the MELE2 version, since I haven’t gotten to MELE3 yet, but I truly appreciate that half my screen isn’t covered every time a notification pops up.
F.I.S.H. Mod - Kelly will offer to look after your fish as soon as you purchase one. No romance necessary.
These last two are definitely cheat-y, but after playing ME2 at least half a dozen times I feel completely comfortable using them to save myself time and tedium.
Infinite Fuel LE2 - Does as the title suggests. No more running back and forth to refuel when exploring the galaxy.
One Probe All Resources - Also does as the title suggests. Resource collection in ME2 is a massive, repetitive, time-suck and I was very happy to find this mod.

I need to try to remember to make 'visage' banners at this point... Probably should just ensure that all my standard tags for muse 'about' stuff has a banner, even if it's rarely used. Not that this stayed simply a visage post once I got rambly, but still. Anyway...
Gotta love the customisation available through modded gameplay. I discovered I could layer visors with certain helmets, so this is Izzy's new look in ME3. (Also gotta love the fact that there's an increase in Spectre gear, finally, since yeah, the N7 stuff is great, but all the Alliance branding for so many things is a bit exasperating, especially when a Shepard isn't loyal to the Alliance.
The dialogue in ME3, especially, is enough to make me want to learn how to create mods for ME3LE, just to be able to change all the instances of "Commander Shepard, Alliance Navy" to "Commander Shepard, Council Spectre" and whatnot.
There are a lot of lines that would need to be changed - I've probably not even come across all of them myself, even with the repeated gameplay (I still remember recently-ish discovering new dialogue paths in Dragon Age: Origins that I'd never encountered, and I had like 800 hours in the game at the time) - but it would be worth it for me, at least, to have the option to not hear Shepard introduce herself as Alliance but as a Spectre. I miss having the choice, like was often available in ME1, especially since you don't get to use your Spectre status anywhere near as often as you should be able to.

TANK TOP CASUALS FOR MELE2
similar outfit as before, but with fresh new meshes and new textures to make them consistent with ME2 appearances and lore. comes in two styles: N7 black and cerberus. default femshep is buff, but option to install vanilla body is also available. For MELE2 only (see original MELE3 post for those options).  Use ME3Tweaks Mod Manager to install.
STILL COMING SOON: full buff femshep mod port for ME3 is coming up next; mod for MELE3 v1.2 is available on the nexus which includes fixes for some mesh errors and no more weird bendy noodle arms.

Making Your Favorite Shepard Look Right in MELE1
On PC at least, I don’t play on consoles so I don’t know how/if this could work with moving saves around, if someone does, please reblog with instructions!
After remaking my Shepard in ME1 first by just starting anew, and then trying just using the code I had written down, I just didn’t feel like my Shepard felt like “herself” in ME1.
So, since I know that you can open and import original ME2 & ME3 saves in MELE2 & MELE3, I decided to try another method.
This morning I grabbed a post-Suicide Mission save from original ME2 (OME2).  I dropped that save into me MELE2 save file directory.
1) Copy Your Original ME2 Saves to MELE
Go to Documents --> Bioware --> Mass Effect Legendary Edition --> Save.  If the ME1/ME2/ME3 directories don’t exist, create them.
Tumblr media
2) Create Subfolders (Maybe?)
I don’t think it’s really going to matter what these folders are called, as ultimately, you’re not playing this Shepard in ME3, you’re just getting and tweaking a facecode.  So copy/paste this for now:
Tumblr media
Annakie_11_Vanguard_190318
(I know that the first things are Shepard name, then your background info -- see Step 4 here for the chart, then obviously your class.  I don’t know what the rest of that is.)
It MAY also work if you just drop your entire ME2 save folder for that Shepard in there.  If that doesn’t work, rename it as above.
3) Launch MELE, Head into ME3, and Import
When you launch MELE3, you should see your Shepard there (it might say Annakie Shepard if you used my folder naming and didn’t rename your folder.  It’s FINE, you get to rename your Shepard in ME1 to whatever you want, remember we’re just doing this for the facecode!!)
So start your game, and you’ll get to the tweaking the way your Shep looks screen.
Mine... looked like this.
Tumblr media
This was quite unfortunate, BUT -- It turned out only the colors were off.  Facial structure, and all other elements were FINE.
4) Tweak as desired in MELE3.
So after giving Shep the right hair, skin and makeup colors, I found basically nothing else I wanted to tweak.  I started up ME3 and she looked just like I was used to her looking in an un-retextured ME3:
ME3LE screenshot taken this morning:

Original ME3 screenshot taken in 2012:
Tumblr media
You can see some minor differences but that’s because they were changes I’d actually made in the intervening years to how she normally looks, and I used an old screenshot from before mods, because since then I almost always play with ME3 modded.
But basically, you know what Shepard should look like in original ME3.  So once you’ve tweaked to your heart’s content...
5) Copy that facecode in the character creator, and save it to a text document on your desktop (or wherever.)
That’s... pretty self explanatory.  I’d start the game and mash spacebar til you can save (or just rely on the autosave) and quit the game.
6) Load up MELE1 and Create a New Shepard.  Paste in facecode.  Tweak as desired.
Shep should come out looking about as close to what you’re used to as possible.  TBH I’m thrilled with my results.
