Obito: child soldier who got crushed by a rock, was then taken in (kidnapped) by UCHIHA FUCKING MADARA who completely brainwashed him, then he watched the girl he loved get killed by his former teammate (which solidified what madara told him (which boils down to: Shinobi ain’t shit and the entire system is done for)), killed his teacher, helped slaughter his entire clan, ruled the Akatsuki from the shadows, started the fourth great ninja war, tried to kill his former teammate in one of the best fights in the Naruto franchise, switched teams, and helped fight Kaguya. Then died.

Kabuto: got taken in as an orphan by a kind nun lady (former root agent), volunteered to work for danzo for Reasons™️, killed the only person who loved him on kind-of accident, started working for Orochimaru (oh no), got brainwashed by Orochimaru, helped Orochimaru violate like every single basic human right there is, be left alone after Orochimaru dies and morphing into some kind of snake sage for Reasons™️, help Obito during the war, and eventually become a nun working with his foster brother or something, raising a bunch of tiny clone children.

Also, the two of them are hilarious!!

This ain’t their funniest panel but the gist of their relationship is Kabuto being a snarky instigator and Obito being a lunatic. I love them for it. Most of their conversations look just like this (real) ⬇️
