My dog is fit af! 3 hours of walking and running around a day, and he's on a raw diet. His body composition is great, muscular and low body fat at 6 years of age. In human years that's like 42, same as me 😄. Here i catch him and my wife after their 2 hour walk as i come home from buying his food. Diet, Exercise, Sleep, and Consistency. If you masters these 4 things, you'll be alright. Easier said then done of course. That's why if you haven't been able to achieve that body you want yet, it means you would benefit greatly by getting yourself a coach that knows what they're doing. I happen to be that type of coach. Here we go again. Rome wasn't built in a day. Here i am grinding out my prehab/rehab exercises for my scap issues that caused my shoulder issues. Didn't feel like doing it last night but did it anyway. Why? Because i'm working with my Osteopath to fix me up and keep me intact and i'm not seeing her again in 2 weeks just to give her an excuse why i didn't do what we agreed on. Accountability is huge, we all need it in certain areas of our lives. You may be ultra disciplined when it comes to working out, but lacking in the diet department. You may be ultra discilpine when it comes to work, but you lacking in the physical activity department. And so on and so on. We can't be good at everything, nothing wrong with that, but it is wrong imo to neglect our weaknesses to the point where it becomes detrimental. I use to think meditation was a waste of time. Then i figured it might be useful for performance. Now i realize it goes way beyond that. Unless you understand the purpose of it, it seems silly to invest so must time and effort into it. And i'm not talking about just a quick 10 minutes in the morning, though it's still beneficial, it won't be enough for you to get out of it as much as you should and could. 40 minutes is about how long i can sit in this cross legged posture due to my current lower back issues. As i resolved this issue, i'll be able to sit here much longer. One of the purpose of this is to create an unshakable and unbreakable platform within. So that regardless of outsides circumstance, you are always in control of your experience. You are always good. I've seen rich miserable people and i've seen poor miserable people. It doesn't matter which one you are, what matters is how you experience life on a moment to moment basis. When i'm short on time or when i'm feeling lazy. What i do is just stick to one exercise. A incomplete or not ideal workout is still 100 times better then zero workout. You'll usually end up doing a bit more once you're there if it's a laziness issue, but you'll just stick to one if it's a time issue. I don't believe in not having time when it comes to taking care of your health, i believe it to be a priority issue and a balancing issue. Once it becomes a priority, then the balancing act begins. Balancing getting in and staying in shape all while running a business and taking care of the family can seem like an impossible task. Unless you have a system and structure in place and some good old accountability. A lot of accountability. High level balancing act requires coaching . Nobody ever got to the NBA or NFL alone without a coach or by watching videos on Youtube. Besides life wasn't meant to be played alone. At 42 i'm starting to really understand the importance of improving and maintaining your mobility and flexibility. When it simply gets too painful not to do it, and when doing it makes you feel awesome and helps you keep up with guys in their 20s, then it's not even a chore anymore but practically a secret weapon for longevity and performance. We invest in all sorts of things, our 401k, our business, our homes, our kids, but then we forget to invest time and energy into our health. It don't matter until our bodies start to breakdown, and then it's a uphill battle that most men lose unfortunately. Success is great, but not at the expense of your mental and physical health and well being. All that material possessions don't mean squat if you're 6 feet under. It's not about the six pack and huge muscles, it's about being strong, vibrant, and energized so you can keep doing what matters to you. Gyms are closed again where i'm at. Luckily i have a small gym in my building. But even if i didn't i would still find a way to get my exercises in. A warrior finds a way. And doesn't indulge in self pity and blame circumstances. Somebody commented once, 'Not all of us are lucky enough have a gym or a pool in their building'. I didn't answer. Because i ain't no keyboard warrior. 😜 I believe we make our own luck, through our thoughts, our attitudes, our words and our actions. Whatever your current circumstances, it's all on you.
