Yes, it is possible to hate and love someone at the same time.
I do it to myself every day.

DID YOU CRY ON YOUR RUN? Maybe this sounds a bit strange. Exercise is good. Exercise is healthy. So why does exercising so often seem to bring tears? Trauma lives in the body. Sometimes it feels like it is trapped in my physical form. And when you think about it, exercising can give us a lot of the same physical feelings as fear. Rapid breathing. Racing heart. Sweaty skin. So maybe it's not that strange that sometimes when I feel those things physically, my mind connects to memories I am trying to forget. I used to be embarrassed every time this happened. It made me feel broken that doing something positive for myself, an act of self care, could make me cry. But I have come to see these tears for what they are: a release. Connecting with the trauma in a safe way, letting it out, letting it breathe, letting it go. I am not embarrassed any more. It is what it is. But I do still sometimes wonder what the people in my neighbourhood think when they see me running.
