what do you mean when you say stork was a late bloomer?

Merbs reach their Merblet stage (so they have all their limbs by this point) and will start emerging from the water, on average, around the age of 8, but late bloomers won't start leaving the safety of the water until between 10 and 12.

Stork was one of these late bloomers, as he didn't leave the water until he was 12 and pretty much had to because his gills had sealed up and his tail had receded, so he could no longer survive in the water. He was also only out of the water for around 6 months before Cyclonia invaded and he had to flee into the Wastelands.

This is absolutely 100% why he's astronomically more paranoid than other's of his kind. It was basically like a child leaving their nursery for the first time only to immediately enter a warzone and get dumped in a volcano.

Loom weights

Loom weights are almost always found in woman’s graves. They are made in various shapes and sizes, f.e. round, teardrop shaped or triangular.

Made from ceramics, bone or carved stones, loom weights provide tension which enables to weave evenly. Despite there being multiple weights on a loom, they’re never given as grave goods in complete sets.

The possible reason only a few or just one weight is given is perhaps to underline the woman’s talent and skills at weaving.

Textiles in the early medieval era were most often made from wool or flax. Frisia was famous for its high quality wools. This was because of it’s central location, the unique landscape which doesn’t allow to be farmed, but is fertile and high in nutrients for grazing sheep, combined with excellent weaving quality and the selling of semi-finished products. The production and trade of wool enabled the Frisians to grow very wealthy.

Just because the concept amuses me deeply, I've decided that Merbs in their tadpole stage are, pound for pound, one of the deadliest creatures on Atmos.

They'll eat literally anything that enters the water with them, including their siblings, and a swarm of 20 is capable of picking a fully grown human clean to the bone in under a minute, Hollywood Piranha style lol
