Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team braced for the sweltering heat of Marrakesh
Marrakesh is set to host the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship for the fifth time this coming weekend.
Marrakesh is set to host the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship for the fifth time this coming weekend. The Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team has competed in Marrakesh only once before, namely in its debut season of 2019/20. The tenth round of the current campaign will be contested in the city’s Agdal district, just a few minutes away from the medina and the world-famous souks. The venue for the…

Nyck used 17 in FE. So maybe he'll go for that one if he gets a permanent seat. I don't think anyone is using 17 in f1
17 is retired in F1 in respect for Jules Bianchi, as that was his chosen race number.
Nyck is 17 in FE because the teams mostly choose the car numbers and Mercedes chose 5 and 17 as the 5th and 17th letters of the alphabet are E and Q respectively and the team was called Mercedes EQ

ffdsfjgfsd okay so bestie the merc eq hate is not like... it's not serious hate it's "My Rival Sporting Team I Want To Beat" hate.
Basically they just come across as.. thinking they're too good for FE? Like the teams who have been there for a long time can be quite casual sometimes - in both their pr and their general attitude - like when Sam moved teams virgin poured flour and eggs over him, tied him up, and delivered him to Jaguar on a trolley. Merc eq are VERY professional, have intense strategy like driver preference, said things like "we're not rookies anymore we need to be WINNING now". Stoffel talks about fe quite negatively sometimes and seems to have a similar opinion. Also the fact that mercedes f1 seem to treat mercedes eq like a junior team or somewhere they can store drivers is very :/ it cultivates a relationship between f1 and fe that didn't exist before and doesn't need to now.
TL;DR - it's literally just that their vibes are off, they're friendlier with F1 than any other FE team and have a Suspicious relationship with the F1 team, and them winning the championship then immediately announcing they were leaving formula e in 2023 because they were only in it for marketing and it wasn't doing what they wanted it to pissed people off because it's like "well you should have been here for racing not pure marketing"
oooooh, I get it, fat vibes. also theyre leaving FE like that? bro thats so fucked. also pls who is sam and why dd he get eggs and flour poured over him thats so fucking funny akjssbd.
laura, tysm. this gen helps and I vibe w the Merc hateret now tbh. I get it, like bro take this shit seriously its not just ur lil testing ground.
I love nyck tho so like.....

why do a lot of people dislike merc EQ and their drivers ?
I think it's mostly the team. The way they joined immediately were competitive and their like very methodical way of being. They were like really formal with PR friendly answers and stuff like that. While FE is generally just like a little more loose. We also came from a huge era of Mercedes F1 dominance (which I now miss, should've appreciated it more).
I dislike Nyck for personal reasons but I don't actually dislike Stoffel his team just sucks.

hii!!
i think i've seen you out about and having a good general grasp on the fe fandom as a whole, and specifically why mercedes eq has been disliked, but what the general thought on mclaren buying the team when they exit in 2023?
mclaren has pretty good pedigree, i guess, with extreme e, indycar and formula 1, and afaik they haven't done any disrespect to the multitude of series they compete in.
is mclaren possibly taking over merc eq a good thing in the eyes of the fans? or is there a fear of all the wrong sort of fans coming over to make it a bit insufferable?
i'd love to know your thoughts!!!
<33
Hey thanks but I am by no means an expert shshsg! I mean I don't really think there's a "wrong sort of fan" especially not when Fe is a growing series still, nobody is in any position to be picky about fans as long as fans have respect. It's not an elite exclusive club it's a Motorsport series that needs all the growth it can get especially now other motorsports are starting to try and catch up with sustainability efforts, even if most of them are very far behind. I also really don't think McLaren would even bring in masses of fans.
As for McLaren my worry would be that they treat it like a junior series - there is that vibe to their indycar efforts sometimes - and McLaren love PR, and they are very good at PR, so that kind of restrained "polished" vibe would probably follow them too. Also on a personal note as a tifosi, fuck McLaren. I'd go into the reasons they suck as a corporation (paying overtime in freddo bars) but everyone in Motorsport is a corporation motivated by finance so....
Anyway my verdict is: it's not that serious and I really don't care who takes over for Merc as long as we don't lose a team from the grid.

No podemos olvidar a Felipe Massa.

Mercedes Benz presenta su EQ Formula E Team City Racer
Tumblr media

Electric Style Revolution Unveiled
From European Cross-Country Adventure to the Heart of Motorsport Innovation.
Have you ever thought about getting an electric car and then just kind of weren't sure because you were worried about whether it would go the distance? Who wants to get stuck in the middle of nowhere without any place to charge the car? Well, it seems Mercedes-Benz has come up with an answer. Their Vision EQXX has broken its own efficiency record with a 1,202 km (that's 750 miles) range on a single battery charge! The road trip took the car from Stuttgart, Germany, to Silverstone, UK.
Tumblr media
On its real-life road test, the car completed a demanding cross-country diversion near Stuttgart, encountered autobahn road closures, cruised across northern France at highway speeds to Calais, where it boarded the Eurotunnel. In Britain, it continued its journey via the M25 (a notorious motorway for its traffic delays!) around London and then stopped off at Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix in Brackley, where it was met by Formula 1 and Formula E experts who helped develop its advanced drivetrain.
Tumblr media
Vision EQXX then drove on to Silverstone, where it was greeted by a special guest driver, Nycke de Vries, who races for the Mercedes-EQ Formula E team. The Dutchman chose not to go easy on the research vehicle and drove it up to its maximum speed limit of 140 km/h on the iconic racetrack. He completed 11 laps and used the last of the charge in the pit lane. Throughout its road trip, the Vision EQXX took advantage of its innovative thermal management system, which helped it achieve an average consumption of 8.3 kWh/100 km in the face of heavy traffic and summer temperatures. You can read more in the Mercedes-Benz press release here.

At IndigoKashmir, we have a strong passion for design, so let's delve into the design of this car:
We appreciate its aesthetic; it doesn't have that overly futuristic look but instead exudes a timeless beauty, avoiding any eccentricity. For those of us who sometimes find parking a bit challenging, especially on crowded streets, we are pleased that it doesn't have an imposing size, making it possible to fit comfortably on the street.
However, one question that comes to mind is whether Mercedes-Benz has considered "Load-Shedding." What happens if you live in a region or country prone to power cuts? Could there be a backup battery system in place? Does it even make sense? With such an impressive range, perhaps drivers should exercise some caution when driving in areas plagued by the dreaded load shedding!

2024 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter Electrifies VanLife
Right now, electric cargo vans are a fringe market, but Mercedes-Benz says that starting in 2025, all new Benz vans will be electric. Along with the electric Rivian Amazon vans and the Ford E-Transit, the 2024 e-Sprinter is on the leading edge of stealth delivery vehicles. Imagine the GMC Vandura A-Team van, but completely opposite. While some of Benz’s EQ models err on the side of freaky…

After two very long years, I finally returned home for the @nyautoshow . A bit smaller than previous shows, this was the first show since the pandemic started so I knew it would be somewhat different. But at the end of the day, I was just happy to be there. My favorite shots goes as follows… the #Jeep Experience will never get old and yes, they have it set up right in front of the Javits Center. I’m not a #Subaru person but I loved their booth space for the new Outback. I can always count on Manhattan Motorcars for bringing my personal favorite vehicle… the Lamborghini Urus. The major push for last year’s show was electric vehicles and @vinfastus brought a few vehicles like the VF7. Not really my speed but I’m more partial to the Mercedes EQS. Another interesting piece of eye candy was the Deus Vayanne, which is a 2200 horsepower electric hypercar, which was probably the star of the Auto Show. @Radwoodofficial teamed up with the @saratogaautomuseum and they provided a lot of nostalgic vehicles such as the Nissan President Sovereign. The most popular vehicle in the Chevrolet booth is the 2023 Corvette Z08. I found this @crownspeedlab customized Ferrari 488 parked downstairs. And finally… to bring it back around full circle, I didn’t expect to fall in love at the Auto Show but this blacked out Jeep Wagoneer stole my heart. Did I mention how happy I was to go back home???? #jeepwagoneer #lamborghiniurus #ferrari488 #crownspeedlab #saratogaautomuseum #radwoodofficial #vinfast #mercedeseqs #nyautoshow #berniesbestof2022 #loveagoodcarshow #carshowbernie (at Javits Center) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnhNPYwgyIY/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
