The Very First Night
Derek Shepherd x fem!Reader
One Shot
TW: Literally nothing. I’m taking a quick break from Evermore because I am so in love with this man I need to write some fluffy shit for him. No use of Y/N
A/N: This is based around the whole prom episode. I needed some self indulgent fluffiness. Also yes I’m ignoring both Meredith and Addisons existence in relation to Derek. Fight me.
Tumblr media
When the chief announced that Seattle Grace Hospital would be holding a prom, you would have thought he was kidding if he didn’t look so deadly serious.
You made a point not to look at a certain man when he announced it.
Derek Shepherd has made it his ultimate goal to get you on a date with him.
Under any other circumstance, you would have said yes in a heartbeat. Hell, you would have been praying for him to ask the second you met him.
He’s smart, he’s funny, he’s a neurosurgeon for God’s sake, not to mention that he’s absolutely gorgeous.
Derek Shepherd is perfect.
He’s also your boss.
The one and only reason you aren’t leaping at the prospect of a date with him.
The label of “slutty intern sleeping with her boss to get ahead” isn’t an appealing one.
But still, the man is very convincing.
You’re doing charts when he sidles up to you, that smile you always stare at a little too long plastered on his face.
He leans against the counter your working on, watching you while you work.
And desperately try to stay professional when you look at him.
“Do you need something, Dr. Shepherd?” You use his title pointedly, a reminder of the barrier between the two of you.
He couldn’t care less.
“Just some information.” He speaks casually, shrugging as he begins to walk, and you follow him without a second thought.
He’s whittling you down, and you both know it.
“About…?” You try to force a smile off your face, but it’s no use. He’s infectious. His flirting. His smile.
Him.
You’re not somebody who fails. You’re an incredible doctor, you’re going to be an incredible surgeon. You were always considered an academic weapon, acing almost every class you’ve taken.
You don’t fail.
But when it comes to resisting Derek?
You think you’re about to.
“You got any plans for prom?” He speaks smoothly, comfortably, like he’s not a grown man asking a grown woman to the prom.
Like he’s not praying you’ll say yes.
You laugh, looking down at the ground instead of his eyes.
His beautiful eyes.
“I guess I’m coming, but no, I don’t have plans.” You place a special emphasis on plans. You both know what plans means.
A date.
Derek smiles, brushing your side gently, getting you to look back up at him, your gaze softening when you see him.
“Great, I’ll pick you up at nine.” He grins at you, looking very pleased with himself.
You go to speak, and you plan on saying no before you do. Explaining for what feels like the millionth time that nothing can happen between the two of you.
And hating every second of it.
But instead, it’s like your brain does you a favor, and speaks before you can decide what to say.
“Okay.” Your voice is a little breathy, and obviously nervous.
Shock passes over his eyes for a second before the smile on his face grows wider, reaching his eyes and making them sparkle.
Really, how the hell were you supposed to say no to that?
Your hands brush for a moment, his fingers sweeping past yours, sending your heart rate up.
He says something before walking away, but you aren’t really paying attention, more panicking at what you just got yourself into.
You’re going to prom with Derek Shepherd.
You never planned on taking this very seriously. You were just gonna throw on your dress from senior year, slip into some heels, and head back to the hospital.
But now?
Needless to say, you’ll be spending more time getting ready.
……………………………………………………………………………………
Two hours.
You left work early, and spent two damn hours getting ready for the prom.
All because of Derek Shepherd.
He’s the bane of your existence.
You can’t think around him.
You can’t think about much besides him.
When you’re with him, your happier than you’ve ever been.
Everything about him just makes you adore him more. His personality, his talent, his skills, his smile, his laugh, everything.
He might just be the love of your life.
You brush out the carefully placed curls in your hair, watching as they fall over your shoulders in waves. Your old prom dress still fits you, thank God.
The satin fabric hugs your waist, thin straps showing off your collarbone and shoulders.
A slit runs up from the bottom of the flowing skirt of the dress, stopping around the middle of your thigh.
Even you have to admit you look good.
You slip on your heels when you hear a knock at the door, and you swear you feel your heart stop.
You look at the clock by your bed.
9:00 exactly.
He really might be perfect.
Meredith peeks her head into your room, you’re living with her for the time being.
She smiles when she sees you despite how uncomfortable you look.
You haven’t been on a date in months, and you don’t think you’ve been this gussied up in years.
“You look great. I’m sure Derek’s gonna agree.” She teases you, all your friends have known you have a thing for Derek since you started your internship at Seattle Grace.
And now that you finally caved and said yes to a date with him?
You’re gonna be hearing a lot of shit about it tomorrow.
You can’t help but feel like this’ll be worth it.
“Thank you, and shut up.” Meredith laughs at your attitude, heading downstairs to her boyfriend, Finn.
You follow behind her, exhaling nervously before opening the front door to find Derek standing in front of you.
Derek, decked out in a suit and tie.
His hair is perfect, as usual.
And in his hands, a bouquet.
A bouquet of your favorite flowers.
You mentioned it once. A simple, offhand comment. You can’t even remember how it came up. But he did.
He remembered. He cared.
He’s making it really hard for you not to fall in love with him.
For a second you recognized an expression on his face you’re not sure you’ve seen before. He looked nervous. That was before his classic McDreamy smile appeared on his face when he saw you.
“Did I get it right?” He asked, handing you the flowers.
You’re blushing like a schoolgirl, honestly a bit giddy. Here you are, getting flowers, being taken to prom by the most handsome man you’ve ever seen.
You nod, taking them and stepping inside to let Derek in.
“Yeah, yeah you got it right.” You speak quieter than you usually would as you quickly place the flowers in the vase, smiling widely when you feel his eyes glued to your every move.
You turn around to find Derek watching you, a sweet smile on his face, a look in his eyes that means more than just simple attraction.
He admires you carefully, not as a painting, a still, lifeless thing meant for him to enjoy, to examine, to scrutinize.
No.
He admires you like a worshipper in church.
He adores you, and the look in his eyes might as well be a sign around his neck that reads ‘I’m in love with you.’
“You’re beautiful.” His voice is breathy when he speaks, and the words cause a vivid blush to rise on your face.
You utter your thanks shyly, stepping towards him and taking his hand when he offers it. He regains his composure quickly, slipping back into the flirty pattern you two follow.
Still, the basis of it, the reason why all of this is happening.
It’s not flirtation. Not attraction. Not even because you like each other.
It’s more than that.
It’s love.
He leads you to his car, you’ve been in it a couple times before, on the way to dinners you swore weren’t dates, nights spent with one another when you were still adamant on refusing to develop feelings for your boss.
Or, adamant on pretending not to, at least.
The car ride isn’t terribly long, but somewhere in the middle of it, your hand is on the middle console when Derek’s comes down from the wheel, landing on top of yours.
You don’t move, and he takes the opportunity to interlace your fingers, earning a smile from you that makes him wish he could freeze time and stay in this moment forever.
“Thank you, for asking me.” Your voice is barely above a whisper, and you look over at him. His eyes stay glued to the road, but you watch as the corners of his mouth lift to a smile.
“Thank you for saying yes.” He quips back, looking over to you when you stop at a red light.
You laugh for a moment before responding. “It was about damn time.”
The moonlight glistens off his face as he laughs, every detail about him making you fall for him more.
He’s mesmerizing, and you can’t bring yourself to take your gaze off of him.
You’ve got it bad.
“Yeah, it was.” Theres still laughter lingering in his voice when he speaks, and you think you could melt right then and there at the sound of it.
It’s not long after that when you arrive at the hospital. You go to open your door before Derek does so for you, going to the effort of helping you out.
“What a gentlemen.” You say teasingly, letting your hand stay clasped in his as you walk into the hospital.
“I’ve been trying to land a date with you for months, I’m not gonna screw it up now.” He smiles down at you when he speaks, scanning your face. Pieces of hair fall to frame it, and he brings his free hand up to brush them away quickly, knowing the affect it has on you when you blush and look away quickly.
You’re honestly a bit shocked when you see how put together the whole event it, decorations are everywhere, and the lobby has been turned into a dance floor.
You already see a few people you know, the ones that came here with dates are already dancing, and the ones that are alone?
Well, they’re drinking the night away.
You don’t realize where Derek is taking you, too busy looking around, until his arm slips around your waist, and his other hand is holding yours as you’re pressed flush to his chest.
Derek Shepherd just asked you to dance, without saying a word.
“May I?” He’s good at this, and he knows it.
For a brief, insecure moment, you wonder why. You wonder if the reason this is so natural for him is because you’re not the only woman he does it for.
If you’re just a phase.
A tough one to crack.
You worry that he doesn’t feel the same way as you do.
But then, you look him in the eyes, and the softest, the gentle, loving, adoration in his gaze.
Your worries vanish like fog burning away on a summer morning.
“I’m not very good at this.” You warn, smiling sheepishly up at him as he begins to sway you, a grin on his lips.
You’re closer than you’ve ever been. Your free arm is thrown around his neck lazily, and you could melt into his embrace.
He leans down, whispering in your ear, his minty breath fanning over your neck. “I don’t mind.”
You smile when you hear him, laughing sweetly when he continues to dance with you. There’s a few people watching. You and Derek have become a topic of conversation around the hospital ever since he started pursuing you so strongly.
So, pretty much since your first day.
Neither of you seem to mind, to engrossed in each other to care. He hasn’t stopped looking at you this whole night. You’re always stunning, he usually can’t keep his eyes off you when you’re just in your scrubs.
But tonight?
You look like an angel came down to earth.
Derek lifts your arm above your head quickly and spins you, smiling brightly when the sound of your bubbly laughter reaches his ears.
It’s the best thing he’s ever heard.
When he pulls you back in your pressed close to him, touching his chest with yours, staring up into his cerulean eyes. Your breathe mingles as he looks down to you, his gaze flickering to your lips as he does.
Everything else feels like it just disappears. The only thing that matters, the only thing in your world, is the man standing in front of you.
You curse yourself for waiting so long. For always being so damn good. For not letting yourself have this sooner.
Have him sooner.
Every single time he asked you out, you wanted to say yes. But you didn’t, you were too focused on everything you shouldn’t have been.
Colleagues.
Expectations.
Assumptions.
Everything but him.
And now?
You’re done.
So when he leans forward, when his lips brush yours. You close your eyes and let him kiss you, and it makes your knees weak. It rips the air out of your lungs.
It flips your world upside down.
You could have repeated this moment forever and been happy.
You move against him, kissing back, running your hands through his hair. His hands slip further down your waist, coming to rest on the small of your back.
Your forced to pull away as you begin to run out of air, gasping a bit as you do. You press your forehead to Derek’s, smiling widely.
He pulls you in closer, and you bring your head to rest in the crook of his neck, and he sways you back and forth, abandoning any efforts of actually trying to dance.
“You got me.” You whisper, and you feel laughter rumbling in his chest when he hears you.
After all this time, all of the asking, all the flirting, everything.
You let go.
Let go of your worries.
And grabbed on to him.
And you are never, ever, letting go.
A/N: Soooo this is short and kinda cheesy ngl, but I hope y’all liked it.

jeff davis forgetting the plot
jeff davis forgetting the fact that nobody likes him
tuning in for sterek and staying for sterek even when jeff davis stops giving the sterek scenes together, and staying for sterek even after one half of sterek leaves, in the hope that the half of sterek who left will one day return so you can keep on watching for sterek even though sterek is not even canon and you know inherently it never will be
brilliantly appalling special FX
meredith having even crazier eyes than the character from the show orange is the new black who has crazy eyes and is actually named crazy eyes
tyler hoechlin hands down having the best spine-tingling-hairs-standing-up-on-the-back-of-your-neck werewolf roar of any werewolf on any film or tv show about werewolves ever FIGHT ME

jackson being the angriest most brilliantly hammy antagonist ever with the best facial expressions known to humankind who ends up evolving into the most adorable gayest gay to ever gay living his best life in londonia with his lovely boyfriend ethan where they are now both runway models for jean paul gaultier (who everybody knows is a french werewolf from way back when in the la bête du gévaudan era)
getting the feeling you should be doing absolutely anything else with your time instead of watching these idiots yet being completely addicted to loving this penny and dime clown show more than you love your own nearest and dearest
VOID STILES BEING A 1000 YEAR OLD FOX DEMON THAT MAKES YOU HARD
having the constant need to shake scott vigorously because he is the funko pop! bobble head we all know and are forced to tolerate
chris argent being such a cringe over-the-top-gun-toting-who's-your-daddy-badass that he somehow actually manages to circle back around to being rad af
chris argent being so real and a dilf
none of the characters ever talking about the fact that scott's dad was an abusive arsehole apart from stiles because stiles is a champion amongst men who makes sure to tell scott's dad between scenes that his head looks like a cross between a crescent moon and a foot
every single character on the show knowing that there is not a hint of a shadow of a doubt that derek and stiles are doin the narsty—even the off-camera characters we never get to meet are always congregating on the reg in the grocery store or the coffee shop or the WSWA (We See Werewolves Anonymous) bi-weekly meetings and are all like "you know that furious-looking autistic dude with the spectacular monobrow whose eyes are sometimes definitely way too blue? and the noodly peewee herman MIT ADHD kid with the duct tape jeep whose dad is the sheriff of this fictional town none of us live in? they are definitely fucking omg."

x
Spencer pulls up to the hospital you work at, and you turn to him with a sweet smile.
“Thank you for driving me.”
“Of course.”
You lean up and kiss him quickly before leaving the car.
“Remember, we have date night tonight. I have a present for you.”
“I can’t wait.”
You leave his side and walk into the hospital with tens of other people trying to either get to work or see their loved ones. Spencer notices a tall man walk in right behind you but he doesn’t think anything of it. He puts the car into drive and heads to the BAU which is only a quick twenty minutes away. Derek greets Spencer as soon as he comes in and he hands him a coffee.
“Thanks.”
“How’s Y/N doing?”
“She’s doing her best. I don’t know how she and Savannah work in hospitals. They must see more gore than we do. Plus, their hours are longer than ours.”
“I guess the same thing can be said about our jobs.”
“True,” Spencer chuckles and sips his coffee.
JJ walks into the room with a worried look on her face and she turns the news on for all to see.
“This just in. Quantico State Hospital is on complete lockdown as reports of a shooter come from within. Doctors are rushing to get patients out in an orderly fashion, but the location of the shooter is still unknown. The Quantico Police Department and SWAT have already arrived on scene, but not much is known at this stage in the investigation.”
“This just happened ten minutes ago,” JJ says as everyone gathers in the bullpen.
“No, that can’t be. I just dropped Y/N off. Everything was fine,” Spencer panics.
“The police are getting calls after calls from people inside the hospital. They’re evacuating the wings who aren’t affected as of right now. There’s no telling where this guy is going, who his target is, or how many people are affected inside.”
Spencer takes out his phone and dials you but your phone goes straight to voicemail. Spencer visually begins to panic and Derek places his hand on his shoulder to help calm him down.
“We need to go down there and help.”
“I agree,” Hotch says, “but we can’t go inside until we know the situation.”
“I don’t care. I just need to get down there.”
By the time the BAU gets to the hospital, the roads have been closed off, and a lot of patients and doctors are in the parking lot separated from less urgent to most urgent in terms of who needs to be taken care of first. First responders and doctors use what’s in ambulances to help keep some of the patients alive, but there is a great deal still left inside the hospital.
“Commander, what is going on?” Hotch asks.
“I came over with my guys as soon as I heard the calls. The dispatch center is getting calls left and right about this.”
The man plays a few recordings of calls that came into the 911 dispatch center.
“There is a shooter in the hospital! Send everyone!”
“My friend is dead. Please send help. I’m scared!”
“I don’t know what you have to do but we need help in here! The shooter is tall with blonde hair and facial hair. I don’t know where he went.”
The next call captures Spencer’s attention because it’s you.
“There is an active shooter right now, and I’m in the middle of surgery that I can’t stop. Last I heard he was in the OR wing where I am. Send help!”
“That’s my wife!” Spencer gasps.
“Yeah, it’s always someone’s wife or daughter,” the Commander sighs.
If the shooter is in the OR wing where you are, are you okay? Are you even alive?
“Why aren’t you going inside?”
“We don’t know the situation yet. We don’t know where the shooter is or how extensive the damage is. If we go in now, we could scare the shooter into killing more people.”
“This isn’t happening right now,” Spencer sighs and pulls at his hair gently. He looks at Derek and Hotch in desperation. “What if it were Savannah? Beth?”
As much as it sucks, Hotch could use a person on the inside. He knows and trusts his team to go inside and de-escalate the situation while the others find a way to get inside the safest. Hotch gives Spencer two nods and he takes off running to the entrance. Derek steps in the way of the officers that try to stop Spencer but aren’t successful.
There are a few bodies by the entrance since that is where the shooter stuck first. He strains his ears to hear where the shooter might be since the entire hospital is filled with a deafening silence. He doesn’t have time for this when you could be in danger. He prays that you’re alright as he safely and carefully runs to the OR wing.
He looks into each OR as he passes by but you’re not in any of them. That is until he reaches the last one. On the floor in the scrubber room are two doctors or nurses who jump at the sound of the door opening. They relax when they see his FBI vest, and he puts his hands up to let them know he isn’t a threat to them.
“I’m with the FBI. Who else is in here?”
“My boyfriend got shot,” one of the doctors says. “My best friend is doing surgery on him now.”
Spencer takes a couple of steps into the scrubber room to look through the window to see what’s going on. That’s when his whole world comes crashing down around him. You’re there doing surgery on your friend’s boyfriend with another surgeon on the opposite side of you, but the shooter is inside with a gun pointed at your head. Tears are streaming down your face because you refuse to stop fixing the man on the table.
“Uh, stay down there.” Spencer takes his phone out and hands it to one of the doctors. “Call for help. Tell them Spencer Reid with the FBI is in OR 3 of the surgery wing. Tell them he says to send the team in.”
“Okay,” the doctor says and grabs his phone.
Spencer slowly walks into the OR with his gun raised. The shooter immediately moves the gun from your head to Spencer when he sees him.
“Spencer,” you cry as you work.
“Drop the gun,” Spencer orders the man.
The man moves the gun back over to you and shoves it into the side of your head. You sob loudly at the thought of leaving Earth like this in front of the man you love.
“I will shoot her if you don’t lower your gun.”
Spencer has no choice but to listen to what he says. If your life is on the line, then he’ll do anything to save it. He drops his gun to the floor and kicks it away per the shooter’s instructions.
“Let him die.” When you don’t, he presses the gun into your head again, and you sob. “Do you want me to shoot you?”
“Y/N--”
“No, I can’t stop,” you cut your husband off.
Spencer needs to get that gun away from you so he takes one step toward the shooter, and he aims the gun at Spencer instead. With the threat of the gun off you, you and the other surgeon work quickly to do as much as you can as long as you can do it.
“The person you’re holding a gun to is the woman I love.”
“The man on the table, Dr. Greystone, is responsible for killing my wife. I was justice!”
“If you kill that man then justice won’t be served. Knowing that this doctor is rotting in prison for killing your wife is justice, and I can make that happen. All you need to do is put the gun down.” Out of the corner of his eye, Spencer sees the knobless door to the OR room open. Hotch and Derek walk in with their guns raised silently so as to not alert the shooter that they’re there. “I will make sure this doctor goes away for a long time. Just drop the gun.”
Whatever he sees in Spencer seems to work because the shooter drops the gun with tears in his eyes. Hotch keeps the gun trained on him while Derek jumps into action. He grabs the man and kicks the gun away before putting handcuffs on him. You’re just about done with this surgery anyway, so you hand the stitch and needle to your coworker and run over to Spencer.
When you feel the comfort of his arms around you, you break down crying.
As soon as the shooter is apprehended, doctors and patients are allowed back inside. Paramedics come rushing in to tend to the wounded. Your friend and her boyfriend are transferred to a room, and you’re taken outside with Spencer while the rest of the BAU help where needed.
“I’m sorry,” you cry. “I had to keep going. This hospital is my family. I couldn’t let my best friend’s boyfriend die.”
“I know. I’m so sorry you had to go through this. I’m glad you’re okay.”
Spencer pulls you in for a hug and you put a hand to your stomach in thought. You have a pregnancy stick waiting for Spencer at home because you’re you wanted to surprise him that you’re pregnant but after what just happened, you might not be.

I have a Mark Sloan x female
What if Mark Sloan had been dating Meredith’s older sister who is head of trauma. Y/n and Mark broke after the situation with his daughter and grandson.
After the night at Joes after the attendings had been celebrating Derek, Mark and y/n ends the night with sleeping together.
About 8 or 9 weeks y/n starts to feeling nauseous and tired. Callie starts to feel the same way as y/n, the two friends takes a pregnancy test and they both finds out that they are pregnant.
Callie had slept with a stranger from joes bar.
Y/n tells Mark that she is pregnant with his child and he wants them to get back together.
Maybe you can make it as two or three parts, something based on season 7 episode 9, 13 and 14
Mark Sloan- Try Again Pt1
Tumblr media
It all started 9 weeks ago with one drunken night at Joe’s Bar. One night of weakness. I promised myself I wouldn’t run back to Mark, but I did. We broke up because I felt he needed to focus on his daughter and his unborn grandchild. I still love him, I think I always will. Maybe braking up was a mistake, but here we are. Now Callie and I are sat in my bedroom both with pregnancy tests in hand
“I’m scared” I reveal
“Me to. At least you’ll know who the dad is though”
“Why did we go to the bar that night?”
“Because we were celebrating Derek. The real question is why did we get so drunk?” Callie replies
“Cal, what are we going to do if they’re positive?”
“Well, you need to talk to Mark. But whatever you decide to do I’ll be by your side. If I’m pregnant I’ve already decided I’m going to keep them”
“I mean I have wanted to be a mom forever and I am getting older” just then the timer goes off. Both Callie and I take in a deep breath and look down at the tests in our hands. 2 pink lines. Pregnant. Tears immediately start to threaten to fall from my eyes, emotions are all over the place, scared, confused, excitement
“I’m pregnant” Callie says
“Me to”
“You ok?”
“I honestly don’t know how I feel. You?” I turn to face my best friend
“Same. Guess I gotta tell Arizona now”
“Fuck I gotta tell Mark” I groan placing my head in my hands
“You want me to come with you?”
“No” I shake my head “I gotta do this myself. I’ll call you later”
“Good luck” Callie says as I get up from the couch and leave my apartment, heading straight for my car and then Marks place.
I knock on the door waiting for what feels like ages until it finally opens up to a confused looking Mark
“YN? What are you doing here?”
“We need to talk. Can I come in?”
“Sure…” Mark opens up the door more so I can step into his place. Knowing where everything is I head straight to the kitchen to get out a bottle of beer for him and a glass of juice for myself
“Bit early to drink isn’t it”
“I think your gonna need it. Go sit” I follow Mark back into the living room and sit down next to him. It’s silent for a number of minutes until Mark finally says
“So you going to tell me why your here and trying to get me drunk while you sip on orange juice”
“Mark, I’m pregnant”
“Your… you… are you sure”
“Yeah. Took a test this morning. Plus no period, I’ve been feeling nauseous and tired. Boobs are aching and I swear they’re already a cup size bigger”
“But we used…”
“Are you sure we did because we were both pretty drunk. Look I think I want this, the baby. I’m getting older and I’ve wanted kids for a long time. If you want to be apart of their life I would love that, if not then that’s ok I under….”
“No I want to do this. I’ve missed the chance to be a dad before. I’m not doing that again. I want to be part of their life”
“Well ok then. I still need to book for a scan so I’ll Errm let you know” I stand up ready to leave
“Wait. Err I was just making some lunch, made to much for one… so if you’d like, you can stay for a bit” I give Mark a little smile and nod my head
“Ok. Yeah”

You were dropping your daughter, Evie, off at daycare for the day as you were head of cardio at Seattle Grace and your boyfriend was head of plastics. “Bye, sweetheart. I’ll pick you up at four, okay?”, you said as you kissed her head. She waved you off and you waved back at her as you drove off.
As you arrived, you didn’t see your boyfriend anywhere. It was like you jinxed it: he came cheerfully strutting down the corridor. “Oh, hey, baby.”, he said seductively. “Did Evie miss not saying goodbye to me today?”, he asked. “You wish. She didn’t even notice.”, you teased. “So, what’s got you so cheery today, hmm?”, you asked. “Well, the chief is off today and they chose me to take over for the day.”, he stated confidently with a smirk on his face. “Oh, well done!”, you said as you rubbed his arm. You wouldn’t say it out loud but you were slightly jealous as Mark could be irresponsible at times but you knew he would still do a good job and you were proud of him.
“Thank you, I have to go and do my chiefly duties, I’ll see you later.”, he kissed your cheek before walking off. Once he had disappeared past the corner, Derek approached you. “What’s he so happy about?”, he asked confused. “He’s been chosen to be chief for today because the chief is off.”, you stated. “Him? Out of everyone?”, he questioned. “Derek, I know he can be annoying and immature sometimes but this is a good opportunity for him, I think he’ll do well at it.”, you said. “Hmm, I guess so. I just wish I’d have a chance to be chief of surgery.”, he replied honestly. “Derek, I’m sure you will. I bet one day you’ll even be chief of surgery.”, you responded.
“I’ve got to go and prepare for a surgery, see you Derek.”, you walked away. Almost by chance, your sister Meredith came walking around the corner and bumped into you. “Sorry, Y/N.”, she said genuinely. “I’ve just seen Mark strutting around like he owns the place, any reason for that? Well, he already acts like he owns the place but…”, she added. “Everyone keeps asking me this, you know you could just ask him yourself.”, you replied. “This way I get to talk to my sister and Mark can be a bit… unbearable sometimes.”, she stated amusedly.
“The chief is off today and selected him to fill in as chief.”, you said. “Oh! Well done to him. I’m shocked that the chief would have chosen him out of everyone though.”, she replied as she looked through her files. “So am I, to be honest. He doesn’t have the best reputation but I’m happy he has a chance to outdo his reputation.”, you shared with her. “Yeah.”, she agreed. As you were about to walk off to get ready for your surgery, Cristina and your half-sister Lexie walked over in your direction. “I bet they’re going to be asking me about Mark as well.”, you sighed frustratedly. Meredith laughed at your over dramatic action.
“Hey, Y/N.”, Lexie said. “Hi, Lex and Cristina.”, you welcomed the two of them. “Are you also here to ask why Mark is so happy today?”, you questioned. “No, actually, but why is he so happy today?”, Cristina reciprocated. “He’s been selected as chief for the day.”, you repeated for like the fifth time today and you’d only been here for half an hour. Cristina’s jaw dropped wide open. You laughed at her expression as did Lexie and Meredith. “If you have a problem with it ask the chief when he’s back in.”, you said to her. “Okay, I have to prepare for surgery, bye!”, you ran off as Cristina looked ready to kill you. Your sisters laughed at your antics whilst Cristina was fuming.
It was now quarter to four and so you were getting ready to leave to pick your daughter up. “Hey, baby.”, Mark whispered. “Where did you come from?”, you asked. “The chief is back so I was wondering if you want me to pick up Evie with you because I don’t have anymore surgeries or consultations to do.”, he stated as he smiled down at you. “Of course.”, you smiled as you reached up to him for a kiss.
Mark offered to drive and you gladly let him. Soon, you arrived at the daycare and the both of you went to meet Evie. “Daddy!”, she screamed as she noticed Mark smiling at her. She only knew a few words but obviously ‘daddy’ was one of them. She waddled towards him and he picked her up. “Hi, gorgeous.”, he said to her as she nuzzled into him for warmth. He let her rest on him as he took her to the car. He strapped her in the back carefully, making sure it was safe.
Once you had began driving off, you said to Mark: “You were such a good chief, honey.”
“But you’re an even better dad.”, you added as he smiled to himself.
“You’re an even better mum.”, he said as he looked over at you quickly before turning back to the road.

Lexie was done so dirty by the plane crash episodes
Her and Mark deserved a future together with babies and great careers and a beautiful relationship (not necessarily in that order)
She'd have loved Maggie
She'd have been excellent support for Meredith after Derek died AND for Jackson and April after they lost their baby
She'd have been an excellent surgeon
That said Chyler's acting in that episode was beautiful and amazing and heartbreaking. You see a lot of deaths in Greys but hers was one of the most beautifully acted

watching grey’s anatomy for the first time after only watching private practice: another long and obnoxious stream of my thoughts while watching (season 7 edition)
-amelia!!!! yay
-“i have a lot of sisters. if we bought them all coffee, we’d have nothing” okay derek is funny sometimes
-HOW OLD IS AMELIA? it’s stated through dialogue in pp that addison knew her when she was twelve which implies that they are at least about ten years apart (and therefore she is also ten years younger than derek) but somehow she was also five during their dad’s death when derek was twelve, is older than meredith, and got fired from her fellowship in pp but is somehow still a big girl surgeon who can do her own surgeries?
-mark/amelia sex is grossing me out.
-frances conroy!!! this show has so many good guest stars
-marks improvised budget pitch to richard definitely sounds like he’s trying to fuck him
-alex is singing camp rock to the little girl in the MRI thingy. into it.
-the head of pathology is anna draper!!
-okay, arizona telling callie she’s ruining africa for her is a *little* unfair. they should have discussed this more beforehand.
-after however many seasons of them i can genuinely tell you nothing of note about the new characters except that the virgin girl was also in svu and mad men
-arizona sweetie your biphobia is showing
-“i’m trying to look at baileys teets on the internet” RICHARD! (adele webber voice)
-i don’t love the way they’re writing meredith this season. i usually really really like her character even when she fucks up, but she just feels different this season idk. maybe it’s the bangs.
-tyler the nurse!!! i feel like he hasn’t really been around much these past few seasons. i missed him.
-starting to strongly dislike owen. he thought that she was just playing a little joke when she said she never wanted kids??? or that he could browbeat her until she gave in??? “you’re a resident, you might change your mind” ??????? it’s not a decision most people are usually wish washy about dude. you knew this before you married her!!!! “i don’t get a say?” the time to have a say would have been before you were married when she TOLD YOU she didn’t want kids
-arizona sweetie your biphobia is showing AGAIN
-arizona and owen are on my list at this point (ep 16)
-idc what anyone says i LOVE the musical episode (side note: sara ramirez is a fantastic singer)
-meredith, babygirl. i have not been this frustrated with your decisions since season one/two.
-officially HATE owen. deeply. i don’t know how many more ways she can tell him she doesn’t want kids. she has been explicitly clear from the beginning. he’s going on and on about partnerships and both having a say yet what he so clearly means is “i want a chance to argue you into this” as if it’s a trivial decision and not a fundamental difference in how they want to live their lives. and as if it’s not ultimately her body. this is not something you can compromise about, you stupid ginger fuck!!!!!
-also: “i don’t hate children. i respect them. and i believe that they should have parents who want them” !!!!!!!
-every time i want to side with derek, he ruins it by being self righteous and then running away

nobody asked and i cant believe i’m saying this in 2023 but i’ve been (sort of) watching grey’s anatomy and i’m on like season 6 and here are my #thoughts
-KAREV ON TOP. IF ALEX HAS 1MILLION FANS I AM ONE ETC.
-izzie stevens is not a girls’ girl and she pisses me off every other episode she’s in. emotional intelligence of a bag of sand. i will not lie i actively hate that woman
-o’malley was cute at first but i got sick of him real fast. boohoo i don’t get bitches because I’m not super manly even though several women have been interested in me :(((( i’m gonna make it everyone’s problem
-cristina and callie should scissor
-no one on this show has heard of bisexuality and it’s infuriating watching them talk to callie like she’s gay one day and straight the next. but it’s like 2009 so
-miranda bailey is the pillar of not only this show but of my whole life. i would do anything that woman asked until the end of time
-lexie irritates me because she’s comprised entirely of adorkable traits that are supposed to make her awkwardly endearing like awww she’s so sweet and nervous awww she stress eats! but of course she doesn’t look like it
-weber nation i love that mess of a man
-i enjoy that meredith is actually so fucked up while somehow coming across as such a Normal White Woman it’s fascinating and oddly endearing
-I love that derek is introduced as the gorgeous flirtatious yet polite and sensitive dreamboat and then BAM he’s also a pathetic and immature divorcé who lives in a trailer. but he’s the best goddamn neurosurgeon the world’s ever seen. king

Heather, we gotta talk about Peter and Lydia's dynamic, and then how he 'grew'???? Into his relationship with Malia. I mean like kind of insane of him to use Lydia as a soul capsule???? Then just letting her run around??? Then trying to manipulate her into thinking about everything???
i had to sit with this one a little bit to collect my thoughts about lydia and peter.
i'm sure what attracts people is that there's this element of perspheone and hades, of lydia's decent into the world of the supernatural because of peter, that he drove her into some form of madness with the two of them.
peter got lucky with lydia.
her being a banshee along side the connection between an alpha and someone they bit pulled his ass out of the afterlife.
him being his high-school self? was it a manipulation? did peter even have control of it? was it lydia's banshee powers? was it them both seeking a connection in a form lydia would be more comfortable with? less likely to be suspicious of?
in 6a lenore is able to create a manifestation of her deceased son. banshee powers are ill-defined in canon because it seems they are limitless and entirely unique to the banshee forged by their trauma and circumstance.
it's no coincidence to me that lydia under the tutelage of meredith is finally able to control and purposefully use her powers to save malia. lydia's loss of allison is a well spring of trauma, of pain and grief for her. she would do anything to not have someone else she cares about die knowing she could've done something to prevent it.
and also lydia is someone who spent a lot of time not using her voice, hiding behind a mask of the popular queen bee persona and when she does find her voice it becomes her greatest weapon. lydia's being true to herself and using her voice saves mason, stiles, malia and deaton. the wool is fully removed from her eyes. her powers let her perceive beyond the veil to the deepest truth of them all -- death.
the thing about peter is he's clever, cunning and manipulative but this man is also a hale so he's also in turn somewhat reckless and dramatic at all times. peter knows no chill and he will recognize no chill. you commit to your goddamn bit.
during peter's time as an alpha he only bites two people. scott and lydia. scott was bitten because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time but lydia was bitten deliberately.
s2 makes it clear that peter knew she wasn't going to turn but instead her banshee abilities were going to go from being passive to active. it was also a chance to intimate and strong arm stiles with lydia's life on the line.
as with many things with peter there's multiple reasons but i think he knew very quickly what she was when he encountered her in the tell.
going back to season 1 there were hints of lydia's banshee nature but none were as big as the tell. lydia arriving at the video store coincided closely with the death of the clerk. peter was even still lurking on the premises.
her powers were always there just latent.
alpha peter dicks around with terrorizing jackson and than bursts out only to startle lydia who screams. this moment is captured on the cctv footage which the the sheriff shows deaton stills from. this is also a moment when i think deaton begins to realize what's up.
i think lydia's scream brought peter out of his alpha form. a few episodes later is night school where peter brings all his people of interest to one place to have a really intense game of hide and seek, casual murder and attempts at intimidation. it wasn't just scott he was scoping out is what i'm saying. it's lydia's molotovs that eventually kill him. she's connected to both his death and resurrection.
i think peter knew he was on limited time anyway towards the end either derek was going to kill him or the argents so he took precautions to resurrect himself and lydia just fell into his lap like a portent.
he has continued interest in her like the creep he is though. i don't buy for a second he felt cowed at all when she came to the loft at the end of season 3a when she was trying to get information on where the nemeton is.
i don't really think peter necessarily feels guilt for what he thinks are necessary actions and the most necessary thing of all is the continued survival of peter hale. he's a complicated man. like i think he feels regret at having killed laura but it was a necessary sacrifice to obtain the alpha spark. acting contrite with lydia keeps her from killing him basically.
but again peter is complicated and when he views someone as his in any way he will try to protect them even if it's against his instinct of self preservation.
we see this behavior with malia and derek and cora. even stiles.
but lydia and scott? they are his. he bit them. they're both his greatest successes and his greatest failures as an alpha. he will guard that jealously and revel in it. he will be a pain in their ass. he is their demon to wrestle.

Rookie is coming back!
Thank you to ABC and Lionsgate for giving us a season 7 renewal of the Rookie!
I just hope there is a away for the writers to fix Chenford. I am really hoping we don't have another Olicity or Meredith and Derek on our hands where they wait an entire season to get them back together. While they do that one of them is dating someone else. I hope we have Kensi and Deeks that they get back together, move in together and hopefully get engaged in season 7.
I also hope that Alexi doesn't screw it up and say well it is not going to happen. ABC execs had better be watching him to make sure this is done right.
This is one of those situations where if they get back together to early it will feel like it is forced and not worth the effort that Tim will be putting into himself and all the healing Lucy has to do. But if they wait to long people will lose interest.
I am one of those fans that I will come back to the show for the finale this season so I can see what will take us into season 7 and the Chenford stuff that Eric and Melissa have mentioned.
I have a feeling if they get back together next season it will not end right away so when or if they do back together I will come back and watch. Then go back to the episodes that I missed. This is what I did in Grey's Anatomy, When Calls the Heart and Arrow--although I still have not seen all of season 5.
As @northern-neighbor said the best way is a montage and jump ahead like 3 months. That way we can see them working on themselves. Before they get back together.
Lucy has better put her foot down and make sure he earn's her back. If Tim really wants her he will.
I am not interested in Nolan and Bailey and the baby nonsense. I would like to see other couples have challenges. Maybe Wade and Luna, or James and Nyla. They haven't had many troubles.
CHENFORD ROCKS!!!!

I was watching Greys anatomy (again) and it was one of the episodes where Derek was talking about how Cristina sleeps in bed with him and Meredith and he can’t do anything about it…
And I realized that could be Nesta & Gwyn & Em. Even though Emerie doesn’t live in the House but when she’s around….
I can just imagine them kicking Cassian out of bed and him grumbling and mumbling as he grabs his blanket and goes to the living room while the girls snuggle in bed. And even though he grumbles he understands so when this happens he gives them their space because he knows Nesta needs other forms of love too especially when it’s coming from her girls.

Rewatching Teen Wolf all over again because it’s my comfort show.
The last time I rewatched I recognized how JD took mythology and pretty much shat on it. It appears he thinks the fans are stupid.
And it’s not my first time at rewatching (as again my comfort show), because I noticed on a previous occasion that most of the writing had discrepancies. Like was the sherif there or not when his wife died? And how old really is Derek? First he was only 19. Then Derek was made older because guessing since the fans liked the scenes between Hoechlin and O’Brien. Like JD really thought the fans would forget his age was changed?
Also where does Stiles get his nickname from maternal or paternal grandfather? Discrepancies from the first season episode 5 to the season where he was taken by the ghost riders.
In season 2 when Gerard says to Allison she’s almost eighteen but in season 1 she turns 18. wtf!
In season 3 Lydia alludes to Stiles not being human when she says to leave the figuring out to someone human, when they didn’t know who was doing the sacrificing.
Now I’m focusing on how literally JD shat on Derick Hale. Repeatedly. It wasn’t bad enough this character was abused as a child, but then his entire family was brutally murdered. Then he’s left alone and just more crap keeps happening to him. Of course the first thing he does is try to get a pack. He can’t be an omega.
He’s also dealing with trauma of being in shame, the his family is murdered, which adds even more shame and more trauma because he feels responsible for the deaths Derek’s also only a few years older than Scott, Stiles and the rest. He’s not going to be amazing at being an alpha initially. He’s a traumatized older teen or young adult. He didn’t want to be an Alpha. Nor was he ever given a proper chance. He didn’t have guidance. Wtf Deaton. You couldn’t help him?
Beginning of season 3 when they had to do the ice bath sub consciousness thing with Isaac why did it take two wives to hold Isaac down. Poor Isaac whose already been through to much had to have claws in his neck and then practically drowning. But only took one person to hold down Scott, Alison and Stiles. Did Isaac have that darkness around him also?
Then in season 3B they mentioned that Stiles plays chess. But in season 1 they say only the Sheridan plays. Do JD and his writers really think people do not pay attention? If they care about ratings then care about the loyalty and intelligence of fans. But instead they just baited us and made us seem insane.
Season 4 episode 6, when stiles and Lydia are trying to see Meredith, Parrish tells Bronsky that he was caught blowing a breathalyzer test in Canaan. Later on we learn Canaan has existed in decades. JD thinks we’re fools.
But Derek was also too young to have had to find a new pack, when his family was brutally murdered. Perhaps that’s why he was grumpy. He was desperate.
A few months ago he had to end his girlfriends life as she was brutally attacked. Giving power to the nemeton. Which then gave power to Julia/jennifer/darach. Come on now.
Then flipping Kate somehow makes him a kid again and he has to deal with losing his powers.
Pack means everything to wolves. He again couldn’t be an omega. And to have to do it semi alone and then truly alone. Then trying to help a bitten werewolf understand what being a wolf means.
Plus he also has to live in the place his family was killed.
Then his damn groomer returns.
Then his little sister comes back and he chooses to make himself a punching bag for her and Boyd. He is always truly sacrificing himself.
Then his asshole uncle can’t remember if he’s good or bad but keeps abusing him! Peter was also never much of a help when Derek were youngsters.
Then a flipping dark Druid abuses him too. Like leave Derek the fuck alone. Don’t even get me started on the garbage Teen Wolf movie. That was utter and absolute garbage.

Season 7 Canon? The Growing Relationship of Buddie in Season 6.
Alright, we are starting with my opinions on Buddie going canon for Season 7 of 911. I think that the writers have been setting up the possibility of Buck and Eddie exploring a romantic relationship since Season 6B. I will explain starting with the lightning strike.
In a Flash: Buck gets struck by lightning in this episode and Eddie seemingly tries to pull him up but has to let him down into Bobby's arms.
The first thing to digest here is Eddie trying to pull him up when it would be easier to let him down. The slight hesitation of Eddie pulling him before putting him down is peculiar. He is more than likely trying this because he wants to save Buck himself. By trying to save Buck himself he is trying to get Buck as close to himself as possible so he can help him. He has to remember that he trusts his team enough to save Buck when he starts to let him down.
If you have seen Grey's Anatomy or any other medical show you might recognize this. For example in Grey's Anatomy when Derek pulls Meredith out of the water he doesn't call for another doctor or EMS worker to assist him in the ambulance, he gives her CPR himself. This a sort of 'technique' TV and movie writers use a lot to show the relationship between the characters. One character feels they need to help the other themself to be in control.
This could be written off as completely platonic, which in hindsight, may have been the intention behind it while being written. It is hard to say for this particular moment, but this is the beginning of the writers hinting towards something for the future.
Another significant event is when Eddie takes over compressions and gets Buck's heart to start again. The way to interpret this is a cliche. It alludes to Buck's heart starting to beat for Eddie. When the ER doctors take over, they say they will do their best.
A quick analysis of the body language of everyone in the room: Hen, Bobby, and Chim have their shoulders down and eyes wide. This is portraying fear and uncertainty. Everyone's stance is somewhat similar, but Eddie is the most forward in the room. He again wants to be involved in saving Buck. Eddie's body language is somewhat different from everyone else's. His shoulders are very slightly raised his eyebrows furrowed and his eyes are squinted. He is not only worried he is angry.
When Buck is wheeled out of view, Eddie lets out a breath and his shoulders seem to fall and relax. As Eddie walks toward Chim to give him a hug, his head is down and his breath is hitched and he starts to cry. This shows that he felt like he had to be strong for Buck. He is not allowing himself to fully break down.
In Another Life: In this episode, Buck is in a coma while healing from the lightning strike. He has a comatose dream about what his life would be like if Daniel had never died.
This episode was a very interesting turn from Eddie and Buck's dynamics. In this episode, Buck realizes his effect on the world through some sort of multi-verse/dimension-type dream. After talking about Bobby suffering from alcoholism, his mind shifts to Eddie. He asks Chim and Hen about Eddie, and they call him "angry guy" because he lost Christopher to a custody battle with his grandparents. Buck's tone of voice shifts when he finds out Christopher is no longer around, and he starts to lean forward to encourage Hen and Chim to speak. Buck's eyebrows furrow, and his face scrunched together. This shows curiosity yet anger before Buck is even aware of what has happened to Christopher. He turns his head as he listens to the story, so he can listen better. This shows his attentiveness to the Diaz family and how much they mean to him. When he hears something bad has happened, he becomes noticeably uncomfortable. This is when he realizes that Eddie needs him just as much as he needs Eddie. Without Buck, Eddie would have lost Christopher--the most important thing to him.
The key point of this episode was how Eddie was not in Buck's coma dream. We did just talk about his revelation that Eddie needed him, but why not show him at all? It is hard to say why because there could be infinite reasons. Is it possible that if Eddie had been in the coma dream Buck wouldn't want to leave? Maybe his subconscious refused to let him see Eddie for fear that he wouldn't want to wake up. If Eddie had been okay in his coma dream, would Buck have stayed?
What is even more curious is the lack of contact that Eddie makes with Buck. Throughout 911 we see a lot of shoulder taps and hugs between them, which are ruled as platonic, so it is weird to not see anything in this episode. Once Buck is in the hospital bed Eddie purposefully keeps his distance. Christopher does not. Christopher goes up to him and touches his arm and tells him he is going to wake up, but Eddie stays silent. His body language is very obviously upset and fearful of what is to come for Buck. He avoids looking directly at Buck in the hospital bed but still sits in support.
When Buck is awake and the 118 comes into the room, Christopher hugs Buck, and Eddie doesn't do anything. Everyone else in the 118 hugged or physically connected with him, so why wouldn't his best friend? He is still afraid to lose him.
Recovery: Despite most of this episode centering around Bobby, Eddie and Buck both make appearances. Maddie sends a schedule to Buck's friends and family to keep an eye on Buck throughout the day. Once Buck learns this he goes to Eddie's house.
The second Buck opens the door he puts his hand out to grab Eddie's attention. This may be seen as a rude gesture or a play to control a situation, however, Eddie looks less offended and more confused. This is not something we see Buck do often (be rude with his body language), so as his eyes shift focus to something else it would be obvious to assume he is processing what just happened. Buck walks in and goes straight to Eddie's couch.
The Couch Theory Unfolds: The couch theory is a theory that was confirmed by the writers and by Oliver Stark. The theory says Buck has less of a material view of couches and more of a personal view. Buck mentions that his last 3 couches came with girlfriends, which Eddie tells him should be the other way around. Buck places a single chair in front of the TV and calls it his couch. After he is struck by lightning, Buck's mother buys him a couch. While trying to get comfortable on this couch he is constantly interrupted by the doorbell.
The significance of Buck not only going straight to Eddie's couch but passing out on his couch is not recognized by either character. Buck passes out almost immediately showing his exhaustion, but more than anything shows his comfort. No matter what couch you have, couches are not the most comfortable thing to sleep on, especially dressed in jeans and sitting upright.
When Buck wakes up he looks curious but not shocked. If you put yourself in his situation, wouldn't you be shocked if you woke up on your best friend's couch? He gets up and meets Eddie in the kitchen. The way Eddie asks him if he still wants a bear and Buck has no problem asking him for water instead shows his level of comfort in his house. He doesn't use please or any other term of politeness because he knows he doesn't have to. Yet he still thanks Eddie for pouring it for him.
While making Christopher's lunch, Eddie looks down on Buck multiple times. He is assessing Buck's body language and telling him to go ahead and speak. While speaking about Eddie getting shot, Buck tilts his head multiple times to listen to Eddie better and keeps his arms crossed in a position of comfort.
All of these points show the growing relationship between Buck and Eddie happening off-screen. They are completely comfortable around each other and can read each other like a book. This is starting to blur the lines between their bromance and an actual romance. The feeling you could obtain from these scenes is a domestic type. If the scene was reshot and Buck and Eddie had hugged or made physical contact, any outsider watching would assume they were dating.
Mixed Feelings: The title of this episode alone is ironic if you think in terms of Buck and Eddie. We see the same domestic-type situation we saw in the last episode. Buck, Eddie, and Christopher sitting at a table together doing math homework.
Buck's body language in this scene is relaxed and pushed forward. He engages with Eddie and Chris carelessly and naturally. Eddie's body language is more upright but still relaxed. He looks at his phone, but he still engages with Buck. Something to note about their interaction is the inability to hold eye contact. Their eyes shift around the room while talking more than once. This may be a direct choice of the actors or an unconscious choice. Finally, Buck smiles in adoration as Eddie plays with Christopher, but he only looks at Eddie while he smiles and not between the two. Normally while you look at someone in adoration you would look at the child and not the parent.
While playing poker, Captain Mehta mentions how after people get struck by lighting they can develop new abilities. Buck immediately looks to Eddie for approval before settling down when she mentions counting. It was interesting to see because Eddie immediately folds to take the attention off Buck. After he folds, Buck looks down and smiles before continuing. He almost shows a feeling of fluster or of timidness while looking down. While Buck plays, Eddie stands off to the side and looks fondly at Buck. After he wins, Buck once again looks to Eddie for approval on how they want their winnings, and Eddie's smile grows.
Eddie's body language in this scene is protective yet admiring as he stands over Buck. He stands directly behind Buck, but a few feet behind. His face while looking at Buck turns into a half smile, but when Buck looks at him turns into a full smile. He looks at Buck multiple times through the scene, in a protective manner. He is trying to make sure he is alright--as they are doing something illegal.
The irony in the title of this episode is that mixed feelings are not obvious in Buck and Eddie's storyline for this episode. The significance is 911 is very good at making their titles match every storyline. Like in Recovery, Buck is recovering physically and Bobby's storyline is about his friend in AA--a recovery program--who died. So why do mixed feelings not make sense for Eddie and Buck? The reason may be underlying and not direct. The fondness of both characters in the episode may be mixed feelings.
We see these feelings of fondness in earlier seasons, but things may be finally shifting from platonic to romantic fondness.
Performance Anxiety-Pay It Forward: These episodes all have the same theme in common: Eddie and Buck re-emerge into the dating scene. Eddie gets set up by his aunt, while Buck meets a death doula at a scene.
The crazy thing about these relationships is how similar they are. Eddie gets set up by his aunt and things don't really work out, so they pretend they didn't click. Then Eddie meets Marisol at a scene and they meet again at a hardware store. Buck meets Natalia (the death doula) at a scene where she admits she is attracted to how Buck died for 3 minutes. She does not appear until Love Is In the Air.
Not only are these relationships similar at face value, but they also start to develop very close to each other. What would be the point in making Buck and Eddie date at the same time? To get people to talk about it. The writers know that Buddie shippers wanted Buck and Eddie together at the end of Season 6, and they could have positioned it that way, but they didn't. If the writers have any intent in making Buddie happen, they have just sent up the perfect storyline.
Buck and Eddie are dating separate people, but their relationships are missing something. They're missing the domestic, protective, fond feeling that the two of them are shown to have together in the past few episodes.
Not to mention that the number of scenes between Buck and Eddie in these five episodes is significantly less than we saw in the three before it. If the writers wanted to start setting up a relationship between the two, it would be at the start of season seven. The themes being set up are what usually happens at the start of a romantic interest in characters.
Domestic: They start hanging out more and feeling more comfortable and free to be themselves around the other.
Protective: They want the other to be okay, no matter the situation, so they feel the need to help and protect the other themself if they have to.
Fondness: The relaxed faces while looking at the other are a sign on TV of love. The smile while the other is not looking. Normally smiles are meant for when someone else is looking, so smiling while they are not means they are smiling for themself.
It would be easy for the writers to continue to play off these feelings as platonic, but why would they set up these scenes between them just to rule them as platonic in the end? We won't know until next season, but it is more than fun to speculate.
A/N: I know this was long as fuck (especially for my first post) so if you are reading this ur awesome! Anyways let me know in the comments if u disagree or agree with what I said or if I missed anything super big. The psychology stuff is what I have read from a book on body language and dark psychology. Hopefully, that was accurate. Have a good day and I am sorry about any misspellings.
