personally i dont think this screencap is acknowledged enough.

firstly, its adorable. look at arthur holding merlin's legs out of the way. its so typical for him to instinctually throw out an arm of Protection for his beloved manservant.

secondly, its fucking hilarious. whats this goofy position they've desperately rolled into so they dont get trampled by a rampaging beast. merlin is basically upside down and believe it or not gwaine is also back there somewhere

Things I actually hate about Merlin season 5:

1) These two random cosplayers

2) Whatever the fuck this thing was

GOD it’s literally like. mordred was a CHILD he was EIGHT YEARS OLD and merlin wanted him to DIE because he was prophesied to kill arthur!!!!! imagine if someone wanted you to literally die at eight years of age for no real reason at all. wouldn’t you BECOME evil & kill the king a little because of that.

As many things in this show, Aithusa was another wasted character. Great introduction, super promising, and as always, Kilgharrah giving some lines to make us all excited for it. And then they randomly gave her to Morgana, didn't even bother showing how or why, just "oh yeah btw they were captured together". And then neither Merlin nor Kilgharrah really cares about her fate, she gets send away in battle and that's literally the final scene.

You wanted a pay off? Nah, they turned her into a plot device because Morgana needed a dragon and Excalibur v2.

Just remember that Aithusa didn't want to leave Merlin

She knew that Merlin was her Dragonlord. She recognized him.
