I've been seeing people really liking my Merman Elliot doodles from 2018 so he's back!!
I imagine Elliot not being great at singing, but it's good enough to do a little shanty with Willy. Also drawing characters being silly is my lifeline so have a silly Elliott.

Merman Elliott headcanons
When Elliott is pissed, his ability to boil water goes out of control, to the point that unless someone calms him down, he could start fires. Thankfully, as soon as the town realized Elliott was a merman, they learned this the easy way.
Anything braided into his hair turns into a seashell when he transforms, unless it already was one.
The farmer would need at least 8 hearts with Elliott to learn about his secret.
If the farmer owns a beach farm, Elliott would take swims if the weather allows. Otherwise, he would walk to the beach.
Elliott's beautiful singing voice has a hypnotic effect. The only ones immune are members of his family and those he considers so.
Elliott only has 10 seconds to react after he is exposed to water before he transforms.
Bodily fluids do not trigger his transformation, meaning that his tail will not appear if he drools, cries, etc.

I realized it had been about 3 years since I last drew up my Stardew Valley ship, mixed in with my silly heehoo headcanon of Elliott secretly being a merman.
I have righted this wrong. I plan to draw a bit more frequently, these day. Maybe even return to trying to make a comic.

I see your “Elliott is secretly a merman” and raise you a “Elliott is a vampiric/evil merman”.
…I sometimes like darker things…
Inspired by that mermaid scene in Pirates of the Caribbean and Nightwish’s “The Siren”

The moment he first laid eyes on her ...
Truthfully he only planned on having a quick dip. A quick rehydration for his scales, a reprieve from the summer heat and his ever-present writer’s block. What he didn’t plan was being stuck trying so hard not to be spotted by the unfamiliar woman sketching on the beach.
With almost two hours of surveying a way to get back to his cabin without alerting her, he came to two glaring conclusions, that he needed to wait for her to finish her sketching for fear that she’d notice him making such big waves with his tail; And that she was beautiful.
There was something about her that he couldn’t place, something about her that drew him in. He found himself peek his head out more than necessary.
The absurd amount of times where if she wasn’t so engrossed with her sketching she would’ve surely seen him.
They say a muse is rarely found, that inspiration strikes when you least expect it. Elliott never would have expected to find his in this way.
Right in front of the old rickety cabin he called home.

"Babe?" Taylor called.
"In my study, dear." Elliott responded.
Taylor hugged his husband from behind, being careful to avoid startling him. "I was thinking-your book's been selling pretty well, and the farm pretty much runs itself......what do you say we catch a bus to the city and check out the aquarium, huh?"
In truth, the idea of trapping sea creatures for humans' entertainment had always rubbed Elliott the wrong way.
"Or, I could show you something far more spectacular."
"What do you mean?"
"Do you still own your diving suit?"
Elliott had never seen a human rummage through their dresser, run to the bathroom, and change that quickly in his entire life.
Once they confirmed his tank had plenty of air, Elliott took the farmer by the hand and they exited the farm house together. Elliott dove into the water first.
No matter how many times Taylor watched Elliott transform, he would never get tired of seeing it. He dove right in after his husband. He then realized something. "Uh, hon?"
"Yes?"
"Nothing's gonna hurt me, right?"
But, Elliott had already thought of that. "No harm shall come to either of us, Taylor. I promise."
Reassured, Taylor inserted the mouth piece connected to the oxygen tank, and down the couple went.
Woah.......
Taylor couldn't say it at the moment, but he was definitely thinking it. The undersea world was so amazing.
"It certainly is, my dear. Much better than an aquarium, where the animals are locked in cages."
Taylor cringed. He hadn't realized he had said everything he was thinking in sign language, and that he never explained animal shelters to Elliott.
A school of clownfish approached the couple. Taylor waved in greeting, and the fish examined him, focusing particularly on the shark tooth earring he was wearing that day.
"They seem kinda......." Taylor fidgeted as he searched for the best word to use.
"Unnerved? Yes. Would you not, if you saw someone wearing a human finger as an accessory?"
Though it was the only analogy Elliott could think of at the time, it worked.

I was asked to make a reference of Ignatius after my last post, so I spent a bit of time doing just that. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done. I also added my version of merman Elliott for funsies.
