. Chapter One: Dinglehopper.

Life under the sea is beautiful and colorful, different kinds of sea creatures swam around among the mermaids. But, going to the above world is absolutely forbidden. Despite that, two mermaids named Ariel and [Y/n], both best friends, were curious and drawn to the above world. Collecting items from shipwrecks and things dropped into the ocean by the people above.

You hummed along with Ariel as the two of you swam towards the shipwrecks. Which was forbidden, but the curiosity was just too strong. You smiled, seeing the spyglass which must’ve just sank and you picked it up curiously. Looking into the wrong side, anf looked around until it landed on Flounder. “You aren’t supposed to be this far from the palace, Ariel.” Flounder said, and you handed Ariel the spyglass letting her look at it curiously.

“Let’s go back.” He said, and the two of you looked at him, “No.” the two of you said in unison, “How does that work?” She said, curiously continuing to look inside it, and Flounder swam over towards her. “Come on Ariel please?” He pleaded.

You looked over at him and smiled, 'Oh, Flounder stop being such a guppy.” You said, and he looked at you, as Ariel placed the spyglass in her bag and the two of you swam off closer to the shipwrecks. “I’m not a guppy.” He said, swimming after you.

Swimming past the sea life, the three of you arrived at the shipwreck graveyard. Looking through the spyglass she noticed a new shipwreck that wasn’t there before, “Wait, what is that I’ve never seen that one before.” She said, and you followed after her as she swam towards the ship.

Flounder watched as they swimmed towards the ship, “Hey, wait for me…” He called out, trying to swim as fast as he could after the two of you. “You know I can't swim that fast.” He said, as he caught up to you two.

Ariel and You, swam through the countless shipwrecks that they’ve explored before. You peeked your head through one of the round openings, curiously looking at the ship. Seing all the cannons, “Whoa, look at all that.” You said, curiously. “Must’ve used this shup for battles or something.” She said.

“Yeah..great. Now let's get outta here.” Flounder said, nervously. “Getting cold fins?” Ariel asked, looking at him, and the two of you swam towards the ship. “Who, me? No way.” He said, and you looked at him, All right, You can just stay here and - watch for sharks.” You said, smiling and turning back around to follow Ariel.

“All right, good.” He said, and then realized what you said, “What? Y/n!” He shouted, quickly swimming into the ship following them. Unknowingly, avoiding the shadow that swam past as he entered the ship.

Ariel and You, swim up and towards a door and open it following suit. Entering the room, and swimming towards the table. Ariel picked up what looked like a small trident, “Whoa.” Flounder said, and you watched as she looked at it curiously.

“It’s the smallest trident I’ve ever seen.” You said, looking at it. Ariel turned towards Flounder, and gently grabbed his fins. “I’m king Flounder, lord of the seven seas.” She said, playfully causing the three of them to laugh.

“I wonder why a human would need one that size?” You said, curiously. “I bet scuttle will know, she always does.” Ariel said, swimming towards the sheet covering something. Pulling it off revealing a mirror, Flounder gasped seeing his reflection.

“Won’t you relax, it's just your reflection.” You said, smiling looking at him. Looking down, noticing something else, and you picked it up and placed it into your bag. “Calm down, nothing is going to happen.” You said, looking up and noticed the shark.

“Flounder look out!” You shouted, he quickly turned around and saw the shark at the glass window, “Ahh!” He screamed, swimming away as the shark broke through the glass swimming towards the two of you.

The three of you swam through the ship to get away from the shark. You, along with Ariel, dove down to avoid the shark chasing after them and the shark followed them. You turned back to look at the shark and it wasn’t there, just as you turned around the shark burst through the wood, and scared all three of you. All three swam in the opposite direction, the shark following, its fin breaking through the wood as it chased after you. Swimming through the opening you entered through the shark following, and Flounder screamed from the force and was knocked down into the sand.

Him swimming, digging him further into the sand, “Flounder!” The two of you shouted, and you looked at Ariel. Who turned to look towards the mirror and get an idea. The two mermaids swam up towards the top of the ship. And pushed a barrel down onto the shark, and quickly swam back inside the ship. As the ship swam towards them. Using the reflection of the mirror ahead, to distract the shark. The shark seeing the reflection swam towards the mirror, and got its head stuck.

Ariel quickly swam down and grabbed her bag, and along with Flounder and You swam away. Going to meet Scuttle.

[Just Below the Surface.

Flounder was breathing heavily from the events that occurred moments ago, and the two mermaids turned back to look at him. “You..okay Flounder?” Ariel asked, looking at him. “S-Sure.. I-I’m mean i've seen bigger sharks. It’s just you know you can’t back down. You gotta show em who-”

There was a splash and the two mermaids chuckled, seeing Scuttle having dived into the water for some food. “Come back flounder it’s just scuttle.” You said, looking at the bird.

Scuttle after snatching some fish swam back up to the surface, before eating the fish and then diving back down. “Ariel! Y/n! Hey kids, how are you doin?” Scuttle asked, looking at the two mermaids swimming up towards the bird.

“Don’t mind me, I was just grabbing a snack.” She said, looking at them. “We found more treasures.” Ariel said, looking at her. “Yeah, we went to the sunken ship, it was really creepy.” Flounder said, and Ariel reached into her bag and pulled out what she thought was a small trident.

“Human stuff ah ha” Scuttle said, seeing the item in Ariel hand. “Alright let me see.” She said, looking at it. “Any idea what this.” Ariel asked, looking at the bird. “Oh oh wow this this is yeah.” Scuttle said, taking the item from Ariel.

Looking at it, “Yeah, this is very very unusual.” She said, to the mermaids. “Why? What is it.” you asked, looking at it. “It’s a dinglehoppper.” Scuttle said.

“Dinglehopper.” You said curiously, “Yeah, humans use these babies to style their hair.” She said, “Just give it a little twirl and a little yank and you might get a little pieces with it.” She said, and you smiled looking at it. And watched as Ariel used it and tried to comb through her hair.

“I would love to see that.” Ariel and You, said in unison. “Can’t.” Flounder said, and the two of you looked at him, “Flounder.” The two mermaids said.

“You know it's true” He said.

“Your father still does not want you to go to the surface.” Scuttle said.

“No its forbidden.” She said, looking at the bird.

“He says that all humans are barbarians.” Ariel said, trying to comb through her hair.

“Ah, their not so bad unless you're a coconut. They hate coconuts. I swear they get a hold of one and they smash it to pieces just like that, it's weird.” Scuttle said.

“What about this?” You asked, pulling out another item from your bag. “Ariel!” Sebastian called out, causing you to drop the item on the crab below. “Ow!”

“Oops, sorry sebastian!” You said, looking down at him. He then noticed Ariel right beside you. “Ariel, what’re you doing up there wasting your time with some no nothing bird that can’t tell swimming from flying.” He said, and you looked at him.

Ariel looked at him, “I suppose you've completely forgotten tonight's the coral moon.” He said, and Ariel's eyes widened. You looked at her, “Oh no,” She said, “Oh yes.. The gathering of king tritons daughters minus on.” He said, and you looked at her.

“My fathers gonna kill me.” She said, shakingly looking at you and Flounder. “Sorry, Scuttle gotta go.” She said, and the bird nodded and the three of you swam off. Going towards Atlantica. Unknowingly, swimming past two electric eels Flotsam and Jetsam, slither out from under a rock ledge. As the two mermaids swim pass.

“Yes, hurry home, princess. We wouldn't want to be late for daddy's gathering, now, would we?” A voice said, watching through a magic glass ball. Watching the two swim back towards the palace. She picks up a scared little piece of shrimp and eats him, “And now, look at me - wasted away to practically nothing - banished and exiled and practically starving,” Ursula extends her tentacles and floats down to the bottom of her lair.

“I may have finally found daddy’s little weakness.” She said, smiling
