I will be honest, this is not the first snippet from Chain of Thorns where James seems to have "bad ideas." I am starting to think we will get Midnight Heir's James where he will be self-sacrificing and reckless (a bit like Jace in City of Ashes/City of Glasses).

I think Cordelia and Matthew will be relatively closer even if it is not yet romantically (on Cordelia's side), but I think James will assume it already is. As we have seen in the first chapters with Will and Magnus, he doesn't think he can talk to anyone about what happened to him (with the gracelet), and he doesn't think he's as good a person as his dad either. I don't know, this snippet gives me MH!James vibes...

In summary, I am terrified😅
