Danny as a member of Metahumans Anonymous
So, Gotham has a fairly strict No Metas Rule. Not because Batman hates Metas or because the people do, but because it isn’t safe for them to live there with so many Rouges looking for powerful Henchmen. Rogues that will do anything to them or their families to get them to obey.
The few Metas that do live there do so in secret, hiding their powers from everybody else and trying to live a normal life.
Then comes in Danny Fenton. He just recently moved to the City for work, and he just so happens to move in across from one of these hidden Metas. His neighbor accidentally reveals his powers to Danny, and starts to panic because even one person knowing could lead to more people knowing and soon enough he would be stuck in a henchman position being ragdolled by the Batman for the crime of using his Fire Breath to heat up his coffee in front of his neighbor.
Before his neighbor can panic anymore and run away, Danny uses his powers to freeze the doorknob shut. Seeing that Danny is also a Meta, his neighbor calms down a bit.
They start hanging out together, a sort of Metahuman solidarity, and eventually meet another Meta, and another, and another, each time sharing their contact info to keep in touch and make sure everybody else is safe. They eventually meet a couple dozen Metas living on Gotham in secret, creating a group chat to keep in touch and talk.
This eventually culminates into weekly meetings to hang out and discuss their lives, talk about the ways that being Metas affected their lives, explain the various way they unlocked their powers (lab accident, car crash, naturally as kids, etc.), and even play some sports while using their Powers in a hidden warehouse.
It’s a sort of freedom that none of them have experienced since moving to Gotham, a way to let loose and confide in people who understand their lives and struggles. It becomes therapeutic in a way, and it does help that Danny knows a little about Psychology from his sister, so he can help his new friends calm down during a panic attack or talk about tough subjects more easily.
He can also use his Technical Know-How build them some trinkets, as little souvenirs or gifts. But he is also a Ghost, and the love-language of Ghosts is violence, so he makes them little weapons as “Toy Gifts”. He makes a Flamethrower for his Fire Neighbor as a joke, a Blowgun for the guy with Wind Powers, a Water Gun for the guy who makes acid, all that.
They even use the toy weapons in their Games, and it helps that some of their members have healing powers so their don’t have to worry about being hurt too bad.
All in all, it’s a really fun place to hang out with their Meta buddies.
Their Safe Haven.
...
Then one day, Robin sees some people using their powers from a skylight of the Meta Sports Warehouse.

How well liked are the heroes by the public?, And will we have superpowered baddies to face off against besides Mars.
Hello!! 🤗
Well, the team has their fair share of supporters and fans, but a considerable portion of the population mistrusts metahumans in general. Mistrust might even be too good of a word for it.
You have to understand that in this world, not all metahumans are superheroes or saints; most of them are villains and vigilantes who serve no one besides their huge, inflated egos. So, even though the Alliance Team amasses a huge fan base, there are a lot of people out there who would like nothing more than to see them dead.
And yes, Mars is not the only villain of the story. There's another evil lurking much closer than you think.
Thank you for the question!! 🥰

so this is kinda an elaborate dc theory but whatever
part 1: (idk if this is true or not bc i haven't read the comic it was sourced from) but allegedly white martians experimented on primitive humans and ended up suppressing the metagene. this means that humans are not a superpowered race but rather some of them have superpowers. this implies that humans could've been like martians, tamaraneans and.. kryptonians, all of the race having a similar powerset rather than the occasional member having unique abilities. this implies that the general state for a race of beings is all having a power.
part 2: krypton is under a red sun, meaning that originally there would have been a yellow sun. this means at some point in history the kryptonians, similar to martians and tamaraneans, would've been a superpowered race. a source of evidence for this, imo, is the x-ray vision ; when the sun of krypton was yellow, it would've been further away, meaning they'd likely get less light. this explains two things; one, why it isn't a big deal (they wouldn't have been very powerful bc they wouldn't be absorbing the max amount of solar energy they could) and two, the practicality of x-ray vision on an evolutionary scale. what is interesting is what this would mean for kryptonite - krypton would've had to change composition, maybe under the red sun, for it to not have wiped out the previous kryptonians
part 3: in the world of krypton (2021), the Zees (kara zor-el's maternal family) are established historians, and kara shows an interest in this (sidenote, she actually learnt under carter hall/hawkman). they would've likely been documentation about
conclusion : kara likely knew about the theories about kryptonian powers under the yellow sun when she arrived on earth, especially if you follow some of her origins; there were some where argo city, once seperated from krypton, actually ended up in a yellow-star solar system, granting people powers until a religious fanatic moved them from the light, back to floating through space.
anyway, open to anyone who can confirm or deny these dc facts, it's just something i thought of going through a rabbit hole about dc species.

Eobard Thawne - (Flash) AU Chapter 11
Tumblr media
Team Flash was always on it when there was word of a big bad. That’s why when Eobard asked that everyone meet in the cortex at six in the morning, they weren’t even surprised. Iris practically slept in the lab. Cisco was already working a case at the precinct, so he was more than alert. Caitlin had been out for drinks and Barry was binge watching some tv series. They weren’t really sure what to expect. So when three different signature streaks of lightning buzzed into the room, they were on guard. When Barry removed his mask, his counterpart’s eyes were wide.
“Woah..”
They both said looking at each other.
“Okay, this is confusing, we’re gonna need a way to differentiate which one is the real Barry.”
“I’m the real Barry!” They both protested.
“Blue is Bart and red is Barry.” Eobard stated.
“Fair enough.”
“You know I hate that nickname.” Bart complained. He’d already suited up, so as a childish attempt, he constructed a huge blue wall with his ring.
“Quit sulking, we have bigger issues. “ Eobard explains. Barry was still staring.
He obeyed, lowering the wall as his feet landed on the ground from his previous hovering position. Barry was still taking in the differences that he could spot.
“So you’re not a speedster?” He asked. Bart shook his head.
“I’m a blue lantern. It’s crazy that you are the Flash. I do look good in the suit though. “
Barry smiled. “Thank you.”
“Anytime handsome.” He winked, and Barry shifted bashfully. You just rolled your eyes.
“Could you stop being a narcissist for one second!” You complain.
Caitlin and Cisco looked as though they were used to the behavior.
“We have maybe twenty-one hours to find Godspeed and help (Y/N).”
Iris’s brows are knitted.
“Why are we on a timer?”
Eobard’s eyes caught yours for a second.
“Barry came to take (Y/N) home. In about twenty-one hours his friends are gonna reopen the portal. After that he can’t promise that she’ll be able to go back. They only have one shot."
The information didn’t gain happy reactions.
“You’re..leaving?” Bart asked.
“I..I.” You couldn’t form the words.
“We should focus on catching Godspeed."
It was a coward’s way out. But you couldn’t think about it right now. Bart looked ready to question further, but Eobard stopped him.
“She’s right. We need to find him and stop him. Let’s get to work. Caitlin, track his signature. Cisco, I need you and Joe to work on surveillance, he’s somewhere in the city, I know it. Iris, I’m going to need three trackers. Barry, (Y/N) and I are going to be vulnerable with how fast he’s gotten. I need to know everyone’s whereabouts at all times.”
The team dispersed after they were given their tasks. Barry had to admit he was impressed with how effective Eobard led the team.
“You really aren’t him.”
“I’m not.” His tone was flat.
“Excuse me, I need to grab a pair of meta cuffs for when we stop him.” Eobard walked past you without so much as a glance, and you could feel the pang in your heart. You expected the reaction. Barry’s eyes moved to you.
“You care about him.”
It was an easy observation. He had caught you both on the couch. Now you feel a bit guilty. Because this man may not have been Barry’s mortal enemy, but he was still Thawne.
“I just…he’s not..” Barry shook his head.
“You don’t have to explain yourself. (Y/N) you’ve been trapped here for months. I can’t imagine how hard it must have been at the beginning seeing his face after what happened.”
It was painful.
“I only wanted to protect everyone.”
Of course he understands.
“I know. If I’m being honest a part of me was mad at you for making such a decision. I always said I would protect you and then I just watched you die. For a while we really did think that you were gone forever.”
You can’t imagine what that must have felt like.
“But it’s okay now. Because you’re safe. I know everyone’s going to be happy to see you, especially Joe.”
Barry is wearing a wide grin, and you mirror it the best you can. Because at the back of your mind, you aren’t sure if your heart is completely set on returning anymore.

Thinking about acrobats and how some of them are so good it sometimes feels like their more than human bc BODIES ARENT SUPPOSED TO BEND THAT WAY- and I realized how great that could be in regards to Dick.
Tim, with Young Justice: Anyway, that's the plan for infiltration. As the organization is based in Bludhaven, Nightwing will be helping out and will initiate a surprise attack via the access card that we will unfortunately have to grab by hand on the day as they change keys-
Cassie, frowning: Why doesn’t he just go through the vents? It would save the hassle.
Tim, annoyed: We’ve been over this the vents aren’t big enough for a human to fit through. Nightwing is flexible but not THAT flexible.
Bart: Why doesn’t he just use his bendy power.
Tim: his what.
Conner: You know, his bendy power?? So he can fit in the vents.
Tim:
Tim: I really hope you meant that as a joke about how flexible Nightwing is and not that you think he’s a meta.
Bart, Conner and Cassie with one brain cell: Uh. Are you ready to hear an answer that may upset you.
Tim: GUYS HE IS LITERALLY A BAT WHY THE FUCK WOULD HE BE A META WITH BATMAN “NO METAS IN GOTHAM” AS A MENTOR WHAT-

Do you think Jay’s powers could be passed down? I know he wasn’t born with them, but we don’t really know to what extent the scientists went to to get Jay to how he is now. I just wish we could learn more about him. I think a miniseries of his time before Bendix or his time being experimented on right up to the moment when he met Jon would be great.
I mean, “Bendix’s scientists took me apart and put me back together. Over and over until I was barely there. But when there wasn’t enough of me to hold, they couldn’t keep me imprisoned anymore,” definitely sounds like a near, if not actual, death type thing. Unless that’s just me
It depends I guess? On what they changed in Jay and to what extent to make the phasing a thing. I think if he's like a metahuman, then it's probably genetic and could be passed down, but people from Bendix's experiment are called 'post-humans'. Maybe if we see phasing as a trait, then it could have been inserted via genetic engineering but from what I understand in genetic engineering, you get the gene responsible for the trait from one organism and put it into another, but I think it's safe to say there is no one to get the phasing trait from? So this is some advanced kind of, I don't know, gene editing where they, probably experimentally got together a bunch of different things together to create new genetic trait.
But, I think this only works if this was done on Jay before he was born unless Bendix found a way to, I guess, change every bit of gene in Jay??? I'm trying to remember the one time I watched the X-Men movies and read the comics with Angel, and if I'm remembering right from the movies, Beast(Hank) got pissed off about his feet and hands being too big and weird and just injected himself to recede the genes....but it only made things 10 times worse. So, let's just say, there was some sorta injection or chemical fuck-up that could alter Jay's genome, they probably had to keep doing stuff to make the trait show itself and to ensure that it's doing what's supposed to do. It HAD to have been near-death because of the nature of Jay's powers. If he stops phasing himself while inside something, he's dead. And his entire physical make-up is being scrambled to high heavens when he phases. I think he very much got close to dying multiple times at the early stages[I have a (probably dumb) theory that Jay's phasing happens by his atoms parting to move past the spaces between the atoms of the object he wants to phase through, and that it's technically him being able to push and pull himself apart at the atomic level, and he can spread this ability to things he touches.]
I guess, it could hypothetically be passed down?
sorry for the nonsense rambling, i got way too into this.

Metahumans are just Liminals
So! As far as I know, Metahumans get their powers because they have Nth Metal in their DNA (I think? It might be a single continuity thing).
But what if Nth Metal is just Solidified Ectoplasm?
Metahumans are just a different Brand of Liminal. They get their powers from Metalic Ectoplasm in their DNA rather than Pure Ectoplasm in their Soul. As such, their powers are much more based on their Genetics rather than their Obsessions.
A Metahuman is more likely to have children who share the same power. It is Passed On through their DNA, and as such it may not actually fit the users Personality. The upside is that the Power is usually stronger than normal.
A Liminal will get their powers from their Soul. Whatever fits their Obsession the best is what they will get. The downside is that their power is weaker than a Metahumans abilities.
A Ghost is the perfect combination of the Two.
They have a Core made of Metalic Ectoplasm, and a Soul made of Pure Ectoplasm. They have the Power of a Metahuman, and the Fitting Nature of Liminals.
Side Note: Halfas are kind of an even better version of that? They have the Metalic Core, the Pure Ecto Soul, and the Body of a Human to contain the Power.
Thoughts?

Clark purposely is a mediocre reporter because if he was really good that could make him a target. Some reporters are in dangerous situations all the time, with their lives on the line. If Clark Kent was ever targeted it would be easy to figure out he is at least a Meta-Human. God forbid a sniper tries to headshot him and discover he’s bullet proof. Being mediocre is important to maintaining his secret identity.

THE FACES, FIGURES, HEROES, & HEROINES OF EARTH-22 -- AN ELSEWORLDS TALE.
PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on promotional "Kingdom Come" artwork (featuring members of both Superman's reformed Justice League & Batman's Silent Cavalry) created specifically for use as a wraparound screen-printed T-shirt produced by DC Comics. Artwork by Alex Ross.
Resolution from largest to smallest: 1269x1920, 1407x1080, & 900x1043.
COMIC BOOK RESOURCES: "OK, let's get back to the book itself and discuss some of the themes you explored in the book and how they resonate today. One of those themes was Superman growing rather disheartened over his world choosing to embrace much darker, less upstanding heroes of the day. Flash forward to today and we have characters violating each other's minds and heroes killing each other. With that in mind, could "Kingdom Come" as it was produced 10 years ago be made today?"
ALEX ROSS: "Yeah, except now it would seem redundant because all those same things are being explored in a lot of contemporary books. So, it would sort of be like why set it in the future if you can do it today? Yeah, you could write that "Kingdom Come" story now because they seem to be much more flexible or leaning towards that kind of overall "screw with our entire company" type of thing -- characters live, characters die -- but I think it benefited "Kingdom Come" to be a story out of time so that, in a way, through the trade paperback sales and the way it sinks into people, it's this moment in history that's not related to a specific time. You can read it today, you can read it ten years from now and it'll still be relevant. It's not connected to one version of a character that's no longer written."
CBR: "I guess you could say in many ways "Kingdom Come" was rather prophetic."
ALEX ROSS: "It was trying to be. You know, I was really disappointed at the time it was released simply because I wanted it to come out a full year before then. I got a little bit of a late start in '94 and only got to work on it by the fall of that year. I really wanted that thing out by the end of '95 because I thought it would still be catching a moment in time of the post-Image explosion where comics were selling like crazy and seemingly thousands of new characters had erupted on the scene from all the new upstart companies. What happened in '96 was the bubble had burst and it was becoming very clear that the system was falling. So, instead of it being prophetic of the future -- which is what I had envisioned back in '93 when I started to write my first outline for it - it wound up really being more of a commentary upon the state of things as opposed to looking into the future and where things were going to go."
