Hearth and Fire

The sound of the hammer against the metal was loud, probably because it was the only real sound being made at the quiet little spot.

The large man with the curved horns was working with heavy dedication the material at hand. It was not giving in easy, and he often stopped to work details, or apply certain liquid substances that would leave most stretching their heads. Without his armor on, with but a sleeveless shirt and a smith apron, he was focused entirely on hus work, even as sweat run down on his forhead, and his long black hair fell to his face.

That's why it took him a monent too long to notice of the other's arrival, but as he turned his head up and saw her, all he did was smile.

"Oh, hey, Vanya! Phew..", he gave a big exhale as he caught his breath, straightening his back and wiping the sweat off his forehead, still glistening on his big arms. His green eyes moved to find hers, and his smile softened even more.

"I am still working on your commission.. It isn't quite ready yet, if that's why you came.. Will need a couple more days probably for the runes to take proper place in.."

The hearthblood had chosen a rather isolate spot to set his temporary smithy this time. Outside of the city, near the forest, where he wouldn't get interrupted.. He really wanted to give his best on this, he felt a strong drive.. A call of inspiration, as if he was about to hit a break through.

And he also, admittedly, very much wanted to impress his client... especially this time.

A soft chuckle escaped her lips not minding the coat being almost twice her size, it was cozy she will admit. Normally she would try to pick a fight, but considering the big man's, or whatever he was, previous gesture this was no night to spill blood. Perhaps build friendships? "Aye it will be grand!" she shook her amused with the way he spoke, he was definitely not human nor giant. Yet, the young barbarian showed no fear whatsoever, a foolish trait some might say.

"Call me Vanya, my friends prefer that!" was he a potential friend? Who knew, she wouldn't be against it, and why not take the chance and see where this little encounter leads! Taking the lead she was humming a tune, there was always music in her being, something she cherished quite a bit, other than the battlefield! "Though there might be a wee bit of a problem! Not sure if you can fit most inns " she added with a playful laugh ruffling the back of her firey red hair. "Eh, I'll think of something anyway!"

No fear from the barbarian-- such a thing would leave many calling her a complete fool for daring to treat the Emperor of Mankind in such a way. But the Emperor did not mind this, for once. In fact, it was... like a breath of fresh air. A sense of relief washed over him at this nonchalance that emanated from Vanya. Though, it would be best to not call him 'not human' to his face... he prided himself on being a part of mankind. In his own odd, odd ways.

" Vanya... " His deep voice rumbled, piercing her mind again. " ... I shall remember it. "

He walked in silence alongside her, following the redhead without much concern. Though, her comment made the corners of his mouth twitch. Wasn't enough to get him to smile, but it only amused him further.

The Emperor spoke, " We will figure out when we get there, " as he lifted his head to look at their path, knowing very well he would simply use his biomancy by the time they got there. For now? He would let her be in awe.

" What is a warrior such as yourself doing around these parts? It is cold, during this time of year. The lack of attire or pelts of any kind could cripple even the mightiest of heroes. Under-attire may suffice. "

That’s cruel.” Shin teased her, his thumb brushing the bottom of her lip with that cocky smile on his expression. “Maybe when we get home, the best place for a little roughhousing~” He kicks the barely conscious man since he was spouting inaudible insults. The force was enough to send him to sleep. “That’s kinda embarrassing, a shorter guy beating a much taller man. But I’ll take the win.”

Two women suddenly approached Shin and stroked his arm muscles from behind. Their touches startled him to the point of being disgruntled with that annoyed expression on his face. “My, my. You look so strong. How about you come home to me so we can have some fun~?”

“No, he’s mine! Back off whore!” The other woman growled.

Shin gave Vanya a nod, signaling permission to kick their ass if she truly desired.

It’s a necessity being part of the marines - weaklings can’t stick it out for very long and due to being at sea for extended periods of time, it’s important to stay dedicated to exercise regimens in order to maintain muscle and stamina. Oscar gets plenty of exercise onboard and offshore, sticking to weights and other simple programs during downtime while sailing and hitting the countryside after landing at an island. While he’s fit in his human form, he needs plenty of space to run as an Ancient Zoan, being capable of running for hours before tiring.
