The Blob Ghosts

So, basically, an idea where Blob Ghosts start turning up in the DC universe because of Danny and other Shenanigan's [Looks at Clockwork] and some ideas have been had with @captain-krow-drozdov  Where we have different variants of Blob Ghosts running amok. Here is two comparisons, Metropolis and Gotham

Metropolis Blobs: Airy, Fly high, like to wrap around peoples shoulders or hover overhead, congregate high above the streets or at the ceilings of rooms. [Imagine them just acting like Birds, very domestic Birds]

Gotham: Much lower to the ground, if not under it in the sewers and tunnels that make up Gotham’s underbelly, slinking about hidden under Gothamites clothes and cloaks, hiding in shadows and slinking about, for example, one slinking out from beneath a stage to hide in Bruce Wayne’s jacket. 

Danny ends up bribing Damian with a small swarm of them. [Why? Your choice!]

Bruce and the rest of the batfam make a lot more sense when you remember they’re from Jersey. Like we’re just kinda like that.

But I also love the idea that Gotham is in South Jersey cause that’s my area and like, it makes even more sense. Yeah the Philly and New York adjacent areas have their own wild shit, but just thinking about the people I grew up around and how decades of people like them shaped Gotham into a city where Batman and his group of unruly children is normal, it totally fucking tracks.

(Although I can’t decide if it’s funnier to have Gotham be like slightly north of AC and Brigantine, which would explain a lot, or if it’s funnier down by Salem which is just hilarious to me. If that’s the case then Bludhaven is absolutely by AC and nobody can convince me otherwise.)

Like, the batkids having the pork roll/taylor ham debate? Does central jersey truly exist? Tim, Jay, and Cass going to the pine barrens over a long weekend to camp out in search of the jersey devil? (Dami was physically locked in the cave so he could not join them. They had to use the heavy duty chains. He almost escaped.)

Dick comes back after spending too much time with the titans and asks if anyone wants to go to the beach. You can see Jay’s soul leaving his body as he prepares to beat the jersey shore back into his shoobie brother with extreme prejudice. Bruce gets nostalgia in the spring for corn season in the fall. The cowtown rodeo, lucy the elephant, wildwood, cape may, the possibilities are endless y’all. Gimme more South Jersey Bats damnit.

1. Luna. quiet, glowing fluorescence everywhere you walk, and you don’t have to deal with all of that “Borough vs. Borough” nonsense. so uh. ideal for all the kids who were content with sitting in their own corner at recess (aka me)

2. Harvest. food for days, self-sufficient, everyone’s relatively kind, you’ve got your work cut out for you and your community at your side when it counts. not to mention, you are IN on that good ‘ole small town gossip while everyone else isn’t

3. The Metropolis. never quiet yes, but everyone underestimates the value of modern convenience. lots of things to choose from all over is only a few blocks away and you have options (i doubt Cogwheel has a Solbucks on every block and conversations like “wait, not that one, the one on Ancestor’s Avenue does my order right”). sure, it can feel like you’re being watched 24/7 and your job could offer better benefits but you will be on the frontlines of good eats and shopping

4. Zenith. High altitude means your ears pop often, pretty views from mountaintops make up for it tho (probably)

5. Abyssal. Literally a secret civil war going on BUT underwater cave or coral camps as a concept rules
