What is your favourite season and what are your favourite episodes of the series?

Hi anon, haha oh gosh, that’s such a difficult question! The reason that got me into mfmm is Phryne x Jack’s dynamic and their relationship, so in terms of that I think that each season represents a different stage for them, which makes it difficult to pick just one. 

Season one is just an amazing build up to a potential deeper relationship, because at first they truly considred each other to be just friends, even if there was already sexual tension present. To me, this season is about them learning to trust each other and developing this sense of “dependence”. However, I feel like there’s still a bit of hesitation from both, especially Phryne (I can’t not think about the scene in King Memses’ Curse in which Jacks asks her to sign something and Phryne reads it first before doing it). 

Season two is just... delicious because I think that it’s here where they both realise they’ve become dependant of the other in an unexpected way. They need each other and they sort of come to terms with it. Especially after Blood at the Wheel, which is the most evident turning point. And when it comes to trust, during this season they really make up their minds about it (contrasting “the signing” scene in the last ep of season 1, in Unnatural Habits Phryne literally signs the forms Jack hands her without even thinking because she just knows that she can rely completely on him). 

And season three is really just them trying to figure out how to make it work without changing each other’s essence, especially Phryne. Every episode is just bliss. the first time i watched it I think i binged the episodes in two days (and that’s a lot coming from me haha). I mean, the season literally begins with them about to have A DATE... Also, Murder and Mozzarella is certainly the turning point of the season, to me anyway. That’s the last time Phryne takes a lover and, even if there are very good theories about this particular topic, I believe that it speaks volumes about her feelings for Jack and her attitude towards their relationship.

Apart from the episodes I’ve mentioned (all favourites), I’d also mention Ruddy Gore (1x06), Murder in the Dark (1x12), Murder Most Scandalous (2x01), Dead man’s Chest, Deadweight, Murder a La Mode, Blood at the Wheel, The Blood of Juana the Mad.... and basically every episode from season 2 and season 3 haha.
