Everyone fuck off im gay. And everything sucks. And I don’t wanna do chores. 2018 Adriana and 2023 Adriana are holding hands right now. I’m evil, I do terrible things. When you die by MGMT. I’m tired of protein bars and morals. Tomorrow morning I will be stupid and good again, tonight let me savor my wickedness

ok here's a quick summary of 5 sp/style playlists you guys shared with me, plus my own playlist for a total of 6
Tumblr media
note that ween is an outlier; 9/10 songs are on one playlist (yeah it's mine.)
Tumblr media
the 5 songs titled "kids" are by different artists (dream wife, MGMT, current joys)
Tumblr media
2018 saw the release of twin fantasy by car seat headrest and be the cowboy by mitski; 2013 is when pure heroine by lorde came out
anddd the total length of the playlists (without removing duplicate songs) would be about 19 hours and 41 minutes.
that's all i have time for right now but it's kind of neat <3

May! Officially springtime, I wanted my May playlist to key off of 'Les Fleurs' by Minnie Riperton, a song my bff shared in our family discord and has haunted me since (positive).
This playlist put itself together pretty quickly, and basically was in its final form by mid-month. And, since part of the whole point of me even starting doing monthly playlists was because I am prone listening to the same playlists over and over (and over), I had no problem spending two weeks of workdays listening to the same series of songs. It's comforting! My comfort playlist is six songs long and I used to play it on a loop through most of a workday at a Bad Place I Worked. Three hours of syrupy spring joy every day was a delight.
The vibe for May was, if I may quote what I sent my bestie in describing it: "Flowers and joy sweetness and fierceness is the vibes, Middle finger in a lace glove." I mean, I think I achieved that, anyway.
Several covers on this one, like the Cowboy Junkies covering Vic Chesnutt 'Flirted With You All My Life,' which is a hard one to cover for a lot of reasons but this is (to me) a successful attempt. The 'Goodbye Horses' cover by Dead On A Sunday is also a new favourite, it doesn't really change much about it, but it's just a good damn song. The Cardigans singing 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath' hit me so unexpectedly, I was delighted.
Related media to some of the songs:
I enjoy the music video for Indigo De Souza's 'You Can Be Mean'.
An Dro's arrangement of the Hieronymus Bosch butt music is probably my favourite version, and I'm grateful to this Tumblr post for introducing this artist to me.
There are two songs from Schmigadoon! season two in here, if you can find a way to watch it (Apple TV+) and are a musicals fan you're in for a treat. It's a damn tragedy how they've got so few clips for this show and were consistently late in sharing what little they had or in making songs available quickly on Spotify. It's a musical show! You're a giant network! Anyway, enjoy this Chicago-inspired piece that is not on this playlist but is a delight nonetheless.
Anyway here's a link to May's playlist on Spotify, with the track list below the cut.

there were a lot of good tracks this month! judging by some of the new singles, early 2024 is shaping up to be a cool time for new releases. another note, i'm not sure if i'll do a favorite songs of december because i might just do a favorite songs of the year thing instead. i wanted to do one or the other because doing both would be a lot of work and i wanna enjoy my winter break tbh!!!!
as always feel free to follow me on rate your music and twitter (i’m not calling it X)
Tumblr media
"Mother Nature" - MGMT
◇ featured on Loss of Life - MGMT (not yet released) ◇ genres: neo-psychedelia, indie rock
This February we’re finally getting the follow-up to MGMT’s incredible 2018 album Little Dark Age! The lead single to this new record has the band exploring fresh, new sounds to great effect. MGMT are no stranger to psychedelia, but this track has them taking a considerably less electronic approach to it. The songwriting is some of their strongest to date. Very excited about this new album.
Tumblr media
"I Swear, I Really Wanted to Make a 'Rap' Album but This Is Literally the Way the Wind Blew Me This Time" - André 3000
◇ featured on New Blue Sun - André 3000 ◇ genres: new age, ambient
This month we finally received the first full-length solo project from hip hop legend André 3000. As the title of this song suggests, this is a much different direction than his work in OutKast over 16 years ago. On this album, André explores ambient or occasionally jazzy soundscapes driven by the flute (his recent instrument of choice). This track is gorgeous with André’s flute passages taking center stage. This whole project is definitely worth a listen.
Tumblr media
"Now And Then" - The Beatles
◇ featured on The Beatles 1967-1970 (2023 Edition) [The Blue Album] - The Beatles ◇ genres: piano rock, baroque pop
The jokes have been played out by this point about “these Beatles guys are good, they’re going places!”, but it is still bizarre to have a brand new Beatles song in 2023. I highly recommend watching the documentary about the history of this song and how it came to be. Admittedly, that documentary played a big role in my enjoyment of this song. It feels like a fitting send-off for one of the greatest bands of all time. Is it overproduced? Yeah lol, but this project is clearly driven by Paul McCartney who, as everyone should know, is no stranger to overblown schmaltz. We love him for it! Will this ever be lauded as one of band’s best songs? No, but it’s still very good.
Tumblr media
"Celibate" - Danny Brown
◇ featured on Quaranta - Danny Brown ◇ genre: abstract hip hop
This new Danny Brown album lived up to most of my expectations while also subverting them. Brown takes a more introspective approach which really sets this project apart from his previous work. This track has been in constant rotation for me since it dropped. Danny's more subdued delivery works very well with the feature from MIKE (who just dropped a strong contender for rap album of the year). Really enjoyed this track and also the entire project.
Tumblr media
‧₊˚✧ BEST SONG OF THE MONTH ✧˚₊‧ "Oral" - Björk & Rosalía
◇ genres: art pop, electronic
I thought this track would be good, but this is like unbelievably good. Björk wrote this track during her "classic period", but it never saw the light of day until this reworked version with Rosalía. These two work so well together. Björk's trademark ethereal sound shines through hear and the occasional reggaeton percussion underneath is a very nice touch. The chorus is a highlight in both of their careers and thats coming from someone who holds both of these artists in very high regard (admittedly mostly Björk, although MOTOMAMI ranked very high for me last year). Please give this a listen! Not only is this a great track, but its for a good cause!!! All streaming proceeds go to protecting Icelandic fish from harmful fish farms.
Tumblr media
"Wall of Eyes" - The Smile
◇ featured on Wall of Eyes - The Smile (not yet released) ◇ genres: art rock, psychedelic folk, post-rock
The Smile are returning with a new record out in January and this track is very good! A few months ago they dropped "Bending Hectic" which, if you're keeping up, was my favorite track back in June. That track is making it on the album so even if this song wasn't good, I would be stoked. Luckily, this track is really good. I love the bossa nova inspired guitar throughout the song, the hazy psychedelic sound, and the small string flourishes. Really beautiful stuff. I can't wait to hear the rest of the record!
Tumblr media
"Red Flags" - Brittany Howard
◇ featured on What Now - Brittany Howard (not yet released) ◇ genres: psychedelic soul, neo-psychedelia
Look, I don't know why so many banger psychedelic songs dropped this month, but I'm not complaining. I was a big fan of Brittany Howard's last record and the announcement of her new album flew completely under my radar until I was made aware of this single. This is an interesting new sound for Howard, but she pulls it off really well. If the whole record is stuff like this, we're in for a treat.

There is a claim that Jess Moloney doesn't actually do anything for work, that she is a fraud and simply mooches off Jamie. That she showed up in LA and weaseled her way into Jamie's sphere for clout. This is demonstrably false. Jess Moloney has been a talent and creative manager since 2017, starting in New York. Below the cut, I will outline how she has worked to get to where she is now with Ice Studios and what she does.
Jess began her talent management as Jess Moloney MGMT in 2017 while living in New York, with her first clients: Machine Gun Kelly and Justine Skye. This was announced on June 5th, 2017. She also soon took on photographer Renell Madrano as a client, who shot many campaigns for various brands as well as held at least two exhibitions while under Jess's management. These can all be found publicly, as well as on both their Instagrams. Renell is a widely successful photographer.
Tumblr media
Jess also curated the prestigious front row (FROW) of several fashion weeks, as part of Jess Moloney MGMT in collaboration with Vivienne Westwood. These FROWS are a big deal in the fashion world. They're the photo op for the event. Fashion Monitor described the coveted spot: "A designer will be judged not only on their collection, but who was there with the best view of the show." So Jess curating the front row demonstrates her credibility not only in PR, but also in fashion.
Tumblr media
Not only did she curate these front rows for various fashion shows in Europe and NY, she also had a hand in creating the red carpet look of Bring Me the Horizon at the 2019 Grammy Awards.
Tumblr media
I'm unsure of the trajectory she took towards her next venture, Ice Studios in the following couple years. I'm also unsure if she is still in talent management directly, but in any case, Ice Studios was co-founded with her former client Renell. Renell is listed as a Photographer and Director, along with her other good friend, Quil Lemons.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ice Studios is essentially a creative agency. The team, listed above, work on campaigns directly. Jess, being a co-founder, likely handles the logistics of these shoots. She likely decides the who, what, when, where, and why and gives approval over the projects. For example, here is a NYT photo editor thanking her for her part in this front page photo of Jay-Z in the NYT in 2020.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
While one could, and has, argued that there is a lack of engagement from those she tags when posting about the work that Ice Studios does, that doesn't discredit the fact that she and her company are responsible for the work. Again, it is Jess's agency, along with Renell, that takes on these clients for their campaign. Jess role likely does not require her to always be on set. Have you ever met a CEO or president of a company? They are never in the office. Seeing Jess out and about does not mean she is not handling business. Business that it is clear she has worked for.
I would also like to add that she has been in the fashion world for many years. She interned with Vivienne Westwood early on in life after school, has been attending/working for fashion events for years, and she was even asked to walk in a Dolce and Gabbana show in 2018.
Tumblr media
Jess Moloney is a woman who has worked to build up her career in managing creative projects, and it is clear she has been successful in her own right.

would we recognize any of the admins from running previous groups before?
hello, and thank you for your inquiry!
i'm the head admin, and i go by π (pi). in regards to your question, i believe the best answer would be "no," because i have run games but that was way back around 2018 or so...? :o if anyone were to recognize my previous games, i'd be very flattered! hope my players are out there enjoying life and [ricky martin vc] livin' la vida loca~
since then, i took a long break from the rpc and returned just shy of '23, only joining games as a player, so this will be my first endeavor into the new rpc scene as an admin. i hope you consider joining us, because we've got a lot in store!
as for the others in my rp mgmt team, this will be their debut in this capacity!
Tumblr media
hello, clow here !! out of everyone in the admin team, i am the newest to the rp scene and thus the least recognizable, haha ! unless we played in a game together recently, i suppose... 🥴 that being said, i'm the resident lore gremlin and will be the one most likely to answer questions regarding the base lore. 🫡
Tumblr media
and three's a crowd! i'm gray, and i've helped run a couple groups over the years! it's been a long minute, though, what with life and so on. i've mostly written as a player! but when pi asked me along for this lovely adventure, i just couldn't say no... i wish everyone happy apping, and as much fun exploring foundationhq as we've had building it!

Tag 9 people you want to get to know better!
Favourite colour: Every time I’m asked this question the answer changes. I don’t think I can have a single favourite colour, rather a set of them, such as the Marian blue used in the Middle Ages as well as the strong yellows and reds that feature so strongly in works reminiscent of that era, if not necessarily created in it.
Currently reading: I’m reading “The Third Reich. A New History” by the historian Michael Burleigh. This was a book I impulsively asked to be bought more than a decade ago but never felt the need to read until now. I have a tendency to buy or ask to be given books that are very long and comprehensive and not deigning to touch them for a very long time, like with “The History of the Peloponnesian War,” which I actually finished recently, and “Anatomy of Melancholy,” the famous 17th century monograph on, well, melancholy.
I’m reading this book now right after “Peloponnesian War” because nazi Germany is a subject of which many of us know the generalities, bits and pieces here and there, but have not taken the time to actually study, and with these turbulent times we are living, I suppose that it is the way in which I cope! Some people read escapist romances to cope, others deep-dive into worst case scenarios. But it is also true that I want to understand. The political landscape is not identical to how it was after the First World War, and how could it be? But it is not insignificant that in certain regions you see some similarities. Economic crisis, middle classes falling into the lower class or fearing that they will be absorbed by it and share their standard of living; scapegoating of foreigners, Jews, the disabled, and other minorities for these economic problems, to a greater or lesser degree.
More disturbing is that extremist groups in certain countries are explicitly emulating the nazis not only in their spirit but in the strategies that they used to come to power. I remember reading an article a couple of years ago that it had been leaked some of them had admitted to it themselves. But it’s different to read an article than to read a whole book about it. The more I learn about this the more I understand how much the far-right is taking from the nazi proselytism playbook, from infiltrating neutral interest groups (remember cottagecore?) to turning everything into a rage-and-panic inducing matter of life or death. That is something that they were doing back then with very clear intention. A difference is that in the early 20th century they had to print these things out and distribute them or talk to people face to face, and with the internet it can be so easy for them as posting or programming bots to share their views.
The next thing I should read ought to be something that may more directly affect me. Something about US imperialism in Latin America, ha!
Last song: “Little Dark Age” by MGMT
Last series: A couple of weeks ago I watched The Sandman up to the third episode, it’s very pretty so far! I was sleep deprived when I watched the second and third, though, so I don’t think that I remember very much!
I’ll have to admit that I don’t watch much television. Before The Sandman the only shows that I remember watching in the past four years or so are The Terror (2018) that I rewatched ten times and never again and Оттепель (The Thaw), a Russian series about Soviet filmmakers in the time of Khrushchev, when attitudes to censorship became more relaxed. The main character was such a piece of shit! How shit he was impacted me until now. I’m still mad that such a man exists even in the mind of the writers, though it is worse that many like him exist in real life. I was intrigued by the drama of the other characters, but by God. The show was good and I enjoyed it, but it was instrumental in the choice I've actively made since then not to give my time to media that gives too much prominence to abusive straight men. My friend sometimes reads to me from Reddit relationship advice threads and it’s sad and cringe that men like this are still alive and that women can’t seem to let them go. Perhaps it’s inappropriate to see it this way when I know it’s because of patriarchy and abuse, but I don’t want to see something that in real life is so horrifying in what is supposed to be fun.
I realise it is the opposite of the reason I gave to the previous question about why I engage with certain material. Do I contradict myself? I suppose it is that I feel relatively safe from one thing, and with the other, I feel that I have to prepare myself in some way, though there are others that know a lot more than me and feel just as powerless.
Last movie: I don’t watch many movies. I don’t remember, sorry!
Sweet/savoury/spicy: All three! Together.
Currently working on: I’m writing a novel with my friend, which I won’t elaborate on because if I do my mind will take it as a sign that it is finished; I’m also working on a couple of other stories, though not they’re not as important to me as the first one. I’ve also been teaching myself Javascript and doing coding exercises daily; bracing myself to do this type of work in exchange for currency, ha. The social aspect is always more frightening to me than the actual work. There are a couple of important things that I need to research, also. This question reminds me that I need to fold my laundry, study and clean my room... I’m working on becoming stronger, so I guess I must do some weights as well!
Tagging @bacchanalium, @winking-owl , @plantpretender, @elbiotipo, @osmanthusoolong, @trying-something-old, @surumarssi, @panikpanikpanik, @lliona if you want to!
