Hello~ I may be going back in time but one quote from Rei has always been odd to me in the todoroki plot. she says Shoto suffered more than any of the family and has become the family hero. While I love how Shoto has taken that role in his plot I was wondering what the general opinion is on that statement? I don't have the skills to know if it's a translation issue but that phrase seems to imply from her perspective that there's a hierarchy instead of each of the family victims having unique responses and experiences. Not just Touya btw, but in regards to Natsuo and Fuyumi too (and herself).

It's pretty controversial, because of how clumsy it flows - and people do make the same arguments you do about Rei ranking victims or that it ignores what Fuyumi did for the family by saying Shouto is the hero.

I haven't got my Volume version yet, but I know this chapter has been heavily revised, so perhaps the new version makes things clearer.

I think however, even if you look at the page, it becomes clear that the context is Rei talking to Enji specifically here (and not Fuyumi and Natsuo).

She says "one of our children" so in this panel the "us" is her and Enji and she's stating that Shouto suffered more than herself and Endeavor. And while victim-hierarchy is in general not a good idea, in this specific context it does make sense, since Rei is also a perpetrator in relation to Shouto, not only a victim.

In my opinion, the gist of what she is saying, that Rei and Enji as parents really fucked up with Touya and the whole family. And Shouto, their child they both hurt very much is stepping up to save them. For Rei, her salvation is Shouto calling her "mom" again. Not because she doesn't love all her children, but because she hurt Shouto and she couldn't move past her guilt until he gave her the "permission" to do so by visiting her. This is not belittling anyone else - but only Shouto reaching out could help Rei because of their history.

It's all there to kind of complete Shouto's arc about becoming a hero who - unlike his father - is putting his family first and is finding a way to save them.

And this is because "hero" here is meant in the MHA-sense, not in the more generic "you are my hero sense". Other than Endeavor, only Shouto has the qualification / license to go after Touya and stop him and Rei knows that he wants to do just that (because they talked before coming to see Endeavor). Shouto's first waking thought is his brother in the hospital and the strong feeling that he has to be the one to do it.

But Rei also knows that what Touya truly needs emotionally is his father giving him some closure, showing that he cares and that's why Rei wants Shouto to reach out to his father on this, and for Enji to finally step up for Touya.

So this is how I interpreted this scene - but like I said, it's a pretty clumsily put together chapter, and there are many controversial things in it, when people just take individual sentences.

This I fully blame on Taguchi coming on as editor, considering this run of chapter 300-303 had a ton of mistakes / weird turn of phrases. Horikoshi just finished the war arc (already with a bunch of badly paced chapters) and instead of taking a break, rushed straight into the aftermath. He was clearly exhausted and it didn't help that the people whose job is to catch onto mistakes weren't even doing a basic level proof-reading to notice timeline screw-ups or things like Hawks' dialect was totally off in Ch 299.

The Arms Act, 1959, and the Arms Rules, 1962 govern the idea of a gun license in India. Obtaining a gun license in India is not an easy task to deal with. These Acts outline a complicated and expensive process for residents to obtain a license to own firearms. The scope of the permit or license varies depending on the firearms or activities that it entitles the holder to legally engage in with the firearm, although, in the event of a serious threat to their lives, this Act enables citizens to obtain a gun permit. This article will assist you in comprehending what a gun license is, who is eligible to apply for one, and how the application process works in India.  

What is a Gun license?

A gun license in India is a document that grants the holder permission to purchase, possess, own, or carry a handgun, usually with certain limitations. It is normally granted by the local police. NPB (Non- prohibited bore) or PB (prohibited bore) are two different types of licenses that the Indian Arms Act permits. Under Chapters II and III of the Arms Act of 1959, any civilian may request to own an NPB by following the proper procedures. Pistols (9 mm) and handguns in the .38, .455, and .303 rifle calibers are examples of prohibited bore weapons. Prohibited bore weapons are only issued to defense personnel. A license to possess a firearm is valid for three years from the date it is granted and must be renewed no later than one month before it expires. The gun license may also be provided for a shorter period, at the authority's discretion or if the party requiring the license so requests it.

Who is eligible to apply for a gun license in India?

Obtaining a gun license in India is a matter of state level. However, a Prohibited bore can only be issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs or Central Government. NCB (non- prohibited bore) is issued to the civil public, if: - He must be a person of Indian Nationality - He has attained the age of 21 years and in the case of a “junior target shooter,” the person must be 16 years old. - He must be a person of sound mind. - He must have a justified reason to hold a gun license. Self-defense, General security, sports shooting, and crop protection are some of the reasons for which a person can seek to have a permit for a gun. - The applicant should have no history of criminal conduct of any type. Prohibited bore can only be provided by the central authority to specific populations. Fully automatic and semi-automatic weapons, pistols (9 mm), and handguns in the.38, .455, and.303 rifle caliber, etc., are included in the category of "Prohibited Bore" (PB).  Only the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Central Government, may provide an arms license for any firearm listed in the category of the prohibited bore. This occurs after the State Home Ministry makes a recommendation. The above-mentioned firearm types are not "really prohibited," but rather should be regarded as "highly restricted firearms".

How to obtain a Gun License in India?

Procedures to get a Gun license in India:

- The application submission process is the first stage. The district superintendent of police for the relevant state is where one can obtain an application form. A person can also submit the application form online. - Following receipt of the application, the police will investigate any prior instances of criminal conduct and determine whether the provided address is accurate. - There are many ways to learn more about someone who wants to purchase a gun, including asking the people in the area or neighborhood if they have witnessed any malevolent behavior or if the person has ever gotten into fights out of rage. - To know, whether a person who is seeking to hold a gun permit is mentally sound or not, the DCP interviews the person. The DCP submits the reports to the crime branch and the national crime record bureau after the interview. - After completing all of these stages and satisfying the DCP with the necessary information, a civilian may obtain a license to own firearms. - After receiving a gun license, the applicant must speak with the dealer to purchase the firearm. To purchase the firearm from any authorized retailer of their choice, the client must place a pre-order.

Renewal of gun license:

Holders of arms licenses may submit a written application to the respective district magistrate for renewal. Ensure that the candidate is qualified to apply.

Suspension and revocation of gun license in India:

Suspension and revocation of a gun license both are separate terms and have different consequences. Although the grounds for suspension and revocation are the same, the licensing authority has the discretion to determine whether to suspend or revoke the license based on the specific facts of the case. To maintain order and peace, false information, and breach of condition are some of the grounds which determine the suspension or revocation of a gun permit. Licensing authority has the power to suspend the gun permit for a specified period, on the grounds provided under the act but the order of suspension only reaches its finality, when the aggrieved party gets an opportunity of being heard and his obligations if any, adjudicated. In a case, Ajay Jayawant Bhosle v. the State of Maharashtra, the high court of Bombay held that the provisions of Section 17 of the Arms Act would not be used simply because a criminal case is ongoing. If the licensing authority decides that a license's continuation would be harmful to the public's safety and security, such provisions would apply.

Conclusion:

Obtaining a gun license in India falls under the ambit of the Arms Act, 1959 and the Arms Rules, 1962. The Arms Act, 1959 and the Arms Rules, 1962 seek to minimize the use of illegal firearms and the associated crimes. Civilians are only allowed to get the license of Non- prohibited bore for self-defense, general security, or any other factors which are valid under the purview of licensing authority. A gun license in India grants civilians a right to hold, possess, own, or carry a firearm under certain limitations provided under the Act.

Time to Vent

Hello My Hero Nation, it is time once again for me to scream into the void about my disappointments in the latest chapters (not all of them but especially a couple were just meh for me). You’ve read the title, buckle up BOIS.

I think Hori might have bitten more than he could chew with this arc and didn’t know how to wrap it up so he started to rush things, and it kinda shows. I’m not even one of those who thinks Horikoshi is a bad writer, he’s not the best but he’s good enough, especially the writings of certain characters I find very, very good.

But lately... He’s not been up to his own standards imo. 

So I made a list of all the things that disappointed me. Why? Because I’m insane and I’ve been hyper for the past 3 days and I need to say something.

Story wise

Midnight’s death was handled awfully. Not even a small flashback? Sis really died off screen like that. With Twice we got a beautifully crafted moment that was very heartbreaking, very well written. And although I’m more of a villain stan myself, I think the heroes’ side deserves the same treatment.

The fuck happened to Toga? Last time she was running and was not reunited with the League. 

The fuck happened to the Pussycats? We even got a small vignette with fucking Wash. WASH. (Like sir you’re great but now’s not the time)But not with them? ‘K. I thought they were a tad bit more important.

An update on Ryukyu? We know she was injured and that’s it, but she was important for Njire, Uraraka and Asui and yet we know nothing about her. I’m not even sure if the decay destroyed her hands completely.

We don’t know what happened to the big three. We know they got injured, but especially Tamaki, we basically haven’t seen him the whole arc, yet he was pretty important for Kirishima and Mirio (2 characters who have a more important role in the story... but yet here we are).

The Todos hospital scene. Not good. The golden child syndrome and the bad victim one strike again. Apparently Fuyumi and Natsuo aren’t as important as Shouto, being that they’re not “the family’s heroes”, when they both tried their best and Fuyumi especially tried to keep the family together (Not saying Shouto isn’t important just that he shouldn’t be put on a pedestal and viewed as better than his siblings).

Actual consequences for the heroes?? A couple of pages isn’t really enough in my opinion, and Endeavor gets to keep his job?? He should be removed if not incarcerated?? Domestic abuse is a crime??? Plus maybe a little investigation on Hawks. Show me something Hori. SHOW ME THE SYSTEM FALLING APART PLS.

An update on the current Heroes’ Top Ten would have been nice. Half of them are dead, another half is injured. Some people are quitting and some others are being cancelled. A quick recap would have helped the readers as well as the story, summarizing the story and showing how the tides are changing.

None seemed to really care that much about the prison breaks. We just know that the panic hasn’t stopped but everyone was more involved in other things. ‘K.

Kurogiri?? What happened to him? Did he escape? None knows.

Where are the new prisoners gonna go? People like the Doctor, Machia and Compress, if Tartarus is not available, especially Machia. Where the fuck can you put this giant. 

Human Reactions

The parents don’t seem concerned at all. Your children were dragged into a war, half of them almost died. Can we get an actual reaction? Give me parents that are angry, that cry, that want to take their children away from that school. Nope. Nothing. Just Inko and Mitsuki moving calmly looking mildly concerned. That’s not even in character.

Inko your child has dropped out of school and is missing. Honey what are you doing. Why didn’t they give you any human reaction I’m so sorry. They did you dirty love. 

Deku and All Might talikng. We don’t know her.

Deku AND KACCHAN TALKING. We don’t know her either.

Deku talking about Nana and Shigaraki. Nope. Not even a small little scene where he tells Gran Torino that Nana said hi, it would have been a small thing but still very moving I think.

THE SECRET IS OUT PEOPLE. Can we at least, at the very least, get an actual decent reaction of Deku’s classmates pls? No, just a page of people holding letters (that we can’t even read completely) with most of the focus on Uraraka, I know it’s because she has a crush on him, but people like Iida and Asui are his friends too, seeing that would have been nice.

THE OTHER SECRET IS OUT. Show me the class reacting to Todoroki’s situation, being hurt that a hero would do that, trying to awkwardly comfort Shouto.

Aizawa and Mic talking. For example about the Doctor or, I don’t know, FUCKING MIDNIGHT.

The League reacting to Dabi. The bitch is just crying blood on a couch none told him anything? 

The League being corcened about Compress and Toga. One is captured and the other is missing, I know that AFO is now in control but saying that your allies are missing should still be of interest to him too.

An update on Shigaraki. We don’t really know how the dialogue is going between him and AFO right now, after the prison escape I mean, just an update about them fighting for dominance (God that sounds bad) would have been nice.

The people reacting to ReDestro. I believe no civilians ever talked about him? And yet his company was pretty big, but now that he’s been exposed to have ties with the league none said anything. Also his ideology was said to be spreading but none seems to care that much.

Aaand that’s that. I probably forgot a couple of things but I think these are the more pressing matters. As I said I’m really disappointed. 

Hori has shown us that he’s a capable writer and now he’s just... not doing too well story wise I guess? I hope he can come back up.

I don’t know. I feel a bit better at least.
