What would everybody's favorite superstar look like if she were in Pizza Tower? Well... the answer is a little something like this! Yesterday, I decided to make a small sprite of myself in Pizza Tower's spriting style and am VERY pleased with what I was able to come up with! 🍕✨

I had to not only sprite myself but stay true to how characters would be drawn #And honestly? I think I nailed it! #I was originally going to draw myself in a skirt but opted for the all-black Peppino legs instead #It looked much more natural and more in-line with something you would see in-game #AND CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE ARMS AND HANDS?! #I think that's what I'm most proud of in terms of this sprite! I was expecting drawing those to be the hardest part... #... but having Peppino's sprite on-hand and referencing it accordingly resulted in them looking SUPER good #I definitely want to try my hand at some potential taunt frames. #We all know how wacky most of Peppino's are and it would be a good excuse to practice the style!

Before The Fleet [NWR AU]

Sorry for my lack of AU posts recently, I've been rather busy. To get things rolling again, here's a bit about some of the engines that were loaned to the North Western but didn't stay. Seeing as I'll be talking about multiple very different engines, I'll format this slightly different to my usual posts.

Brooke the Bullying Engine

Brooke was a Great Central Railway Class 1 that was loaned to the North Western in 1915. She was meant to be the engine pulling the express, but mostly found herself rostered on heavy freight work due to her size and power. Her official name was City of Lincoln, but if you called her that, you might just end up in the turntable well. She was a horrible bully by all accounts and along with her accomplices Ashley and Micah, she reigned over Vicarstown through fear and violence until her return to the Great Central Railway in 1922.

Ashley the Eastern Engine

Ashley was a Great Eastern Railway S69 fitted with experimental larger cylinders. They were loaned to the North Western in 1916 to undergo trials but ended up staying until 1922. They did the passenger work that Edith couldn't. Upon the purchase and subsequent failures of Henry in 1918, they had to pick up the slack from both engines. Being reportedly as rude and self-important as Brooke, they wreaked havoc upon Vicarstown until their return to the G.E.R.

Micah the Mineral Engine

Micah was a Caledonian Railway 600 class loaned to the NWR in 1918. He was brought in to pick up the slack in the freight work that Henry and Edith were meant to be doing. Out of the 3 horrid engines stationed at Vicarstown, he was likely the worst. He often bullied smaller engines such as Thomas, Edith and some of the other loaned shunters. He even sent an engine to the works once. Everyone on the line was glad when he was called back to Scotland by the C.R. in 1922.

Sprite the Buckjumper Engine

Sprite was a Great Eastern Railway S56 that was loaned to the North Western in 1916 to run the Ffarquhar Branchline. They took over from 2 of the much smaller TK&ELR Coffee Pot engines. They worked the line mostly without fuss or incident until 1925, when Thomas was reassigned to the branch and they were sent back to the Great Eastern Railway.

Elsie the Midland Engine

Elsie was a Midland Railway 1377 Class loaned to the North Western Railway in 1917. She took over the mantle of Tidmouth's station pilot from Wellsworth & Suddery Railway No.1. She worked the role without fuss for quite some time, becoming a favourite target of Micah's due to her small size and relatively low power output. She was sent back home in 1925 when the North Western Railway bought Percy.

Kirtley the Old Engine

Kirtley was a Midland Railway 700 Class loaned to the North Western Railway in 1914. She did short-distance freight work and other odd jobs. She was reportedly very kind-hearted and surprisingly strong-willed despite her age. She left the island in 1947 after 3 years of inactivity when the L.M.S. recalled her to Derby Works for scrap.

Jenny the Banking Engine

Jenny was a Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Aspinall Class 30 loaned to the railway in 1914. To start with, she worked the railway's heavy freight services but was reallocated to the Suddery Junction banker siding in 1918 when Micah was purchased. She worked through the 10s, 20s, 30s and 40s pushing trains up the gradient, during which time her northern bluntness and hospitality rubbed off on some. Sir Topham Hatt I had made plans to buy her from the LMS, but they came too late as she was recalled to Horwich Works for scrap in 1946.

Hyacinth Cafe Intro Post

(colloquially known as aroace butler cafe amongst my friends) I'm not sure how to write this as I've never written an intro post for a visual novel before but here we go:

What is it? The Hyacinth Cafe, Hy Cafe for short, is a visual novel with an aroace twist. The drawings and screenshots I've put on here under the tag "project: the hyacinth cafe" are directly related to it.

Who is the protagonist? Micah, last name currently not decided. Two steps at best from being a hikkiko-NEET / shut-in; programmer, the person who's bringing back the concept of nonbinary people just being some guy in sweatpants; has the one friend who adopted him in middle school and who he is terrified will one day realise that he isn't shit, pronouns are not anyone's problem because no one knows he exists (he. they. don't look at me.) Here's Micah:

Okay, nice to meet you Micah. What is the plot? Micah [lastname], two steps away from being a shut-in, gets dragged out by his best (and only friend) Laurie Goodman-Boakye to a local butler cafe after she wins their bi-annual lottery that gets her free access to the cafe's top six most popular butlers for an in-cafe chat and off-site date, nominating Micah in her place. "You're going to learn how to talk to people, and *men*, so help me God." Micah is aspec and arospec, doesn't care enough to figure it out, but more than that, he is so poorly socialised that he needs to interact with more people to figure it out. Laurie knows this and thrust him headfirst into the chance of a lifetime.

Oooooooo, who are the butlers??? If you've been on this blog long enough, you've seen most of them. There's Six (character: six tag on this blog), Yoh (same format), Avery, Lloyd and Jihoon. They all have very different styles and approaches to their job and interacting with each of them presents new challenges for our hissing cat of an MC.

What's the aroace twist? Well, each butler has their own route (and there's a secret 7th one) but each route has two potential endings of "trad romance" (none of them are straightforward trad romance, you know what i mean) or Something Else. Some of them will end up being friends. Some of them end up going back to being acquaintances. Some of them won't talk to you again for neutral reasons or positive reasons — not everyone deals with heartbreak the same way. That's the aroace twist here.

When will it be released? God knows. Just join me for the ride, G. I'm coding and drawing all the sprites (and hopefully CGs) myself. And I've got a plethora of things going on at all times. I don't know when this will be done anymore than you do.

What will it be available on when eventually released? On PC.

and this sebastian drawing was done after examining the marriage sprites. sebastian is the only one wearing gloves, so it is my headcanon now that he was so nervous when marrying the farmer that he wore gloves to cover up how clammy his hands were. the gloves still ended up slightly damp at the end of the day

and also skippy! sebs motorcycle buddy, rhett "skippy" bruce. they met while racing through traffic on the way to zuzu city after a nod of acknowledgment. after the end of their mini race (and somehow not getting pulled over) they stopped on the side of the road to talk to one another and exchange socials. but once sebastian went to get back on his bike, he realized it wouldnt start, so skippy fixed up his bike for him with his toolbox from the back of his motorcycle. kind of a cheesy meeting id bet but i love skippy anyway hes super silly

WAHHHHHH THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I was mostly color assist for the game so I helped render the sprites and color/render backgrounds and CGs!!

A lot of the heavy work (for sprites in particular) were Alatus (lead artist and character design), Angel, and Kanon I believe!!! I was just a little cog in da machine with that hehe :3c

SURPRISE!!!! 💖 #I wanted to save this post for this Thursday at the earliest seeing that I've been posting a lot about this koopa lately #But after some thought I decided to just post it today because I REALLY want my sister Stephanie to see this #I am so proud of this piece that I just couldn't WAIT to show it to everyone!! #I actually had a draft of this drawing going around the time I first showed my koopsona off here #But I ended up finishing it in almost one sitting and a half because... truth be told... #It is RIDICULOUSLY fun to draw in Paper Mario's artstyle and I've yet again mastered a style on my first attempt XD #I was so certain that the shading style of the Paper Mario series (And the Mario franchise in general) would be a nightmare #But after realizing the trick used to pull it off I was able to finish this quite quickly! #I also heavily referenced TTYD's Koopa Troopa sprite sheet over on Spriter's Resource to draw this #Seeing as that game's sprites are assembled from pieces so there were plenty of assets to go off of #I wanted this to initially look more like that game's key art without the white outline and paper texture... #... but honestly I think it looks a whole lot more perfect leaning in toward how modern Paper Mario's style looks! #You can consider this the definitive reference for my koopsona because I doubt I can top this #... well... that is until I inevitably draw her again #To think a few days ago I couldn't draw Koopas and now I've completely MASTERED it with this piece!!!

Mission 2: CLOTHING OPTIONAL

With the nukes more or less out of the players’ hands as per the Colonel wanting to keep things on the down low and Dandelion’s downtime window coming to a close the pilots all got plenty of rest. Of course I saw fit to interrupt this by making them get up in the middle of the night in a rainstorm. Without so much as time to get dressed (or to get dressed with a minor penalty to time and being yelled at more) Dandelion was awoken by blaring alarms announcing incoming bandits on radar. Given their status as “probably the best pilots on base” and the entire purpose of their squad being a combination fast attack/special support unit they were sent out to intercept and hopefully buy their comrades time to prepare.

(No one really left their mech all mission, so the sprites kind of went to waste, we’ll use them later somehow.)

The trek out to intercept the low flying transport helicopters (just roll with it, there’s already mechs, animal people, and nuclear war) and their escorts was interrupted by a spotty distress call coming from a friendly patrol engaged in combat. After a brief discussion about whether or not this was a trap, the squadron course-corrected to save a bunch of kids in way over their heads.

(The composition on these fake screenshots keeps getting worse! There were also body sprites, but I still don’t know tumblr’s policy on posting that kind of thing yet.) A battle against some Gramiitian mechs and specialist troops ensued. I learned a valuable lesson about how annoying giving the players allied NPC’s is and the players learned that I’m not going all out on making them fail missions yet. We had fun. I even threw in an assassin hiding in some ruins at them.

After saving everyone who wasn’t already dead at the distress call like some kind of big shot heroes, the squadron went back to their initial job of intercepting the small invasion force heading right for their base of operations. The rescue mission only set them back a little bit and after an initial skirmish one of the transport helicopters demanded that the players lower their weapons as they are performing a nuclear inspection as allowed by post-nuclear treaties and international law. The exact situation of who shot first is kind of fuzzy given that the players weren’t there to see if the patrol opened fire or not. Honestly I forgot to have them announce this before the players started fighting because I was excited to use the guy who calls you slurs as an action. Oh well. One intense fight of downing helicopters and Oswald’s mech getting trashed, falling into a bog, and ejecting himself sideways into a rocky mudbank when his cockpit started filling with water later all the transports were shot down and their escorts/surviving occupants were chased off.

So now I had the predicament of having an hour and a half left in session, nowhere to be tomorrow, and a player with no mech and a character with a shattered arm. I decided to make a third and final sitrep for the mission while we went over how bad Oswald was taking his opiate dosing and mud-soaked undergarments.

He was stuffed into the back of Micah’s mech and allowed to perform a tech attack as a free action if he could manage it with one hand and being drugged up.

The way home was blocked by an invisible swordsman, a signal jamming puppeteer, and some guy with rockets strapped to his back who failed to do anything and exploded. It got pretty dicey as mechs started overheating, someone got nearly cut in half, and comms couldn’t be established, but they pulled through in the end. Next week: License Level 2, war!, and an intelligence agent.

anyways! undertale oc time. so a while back i drew this drawing and that drawing was supposed 2 be a redesign of This Character but i decided that i just rly rly enjoy this character's design so! im keeping them. this can be the undertale version of this character and that drawing can just be the deltarune version or something mayb. or they can be two different characters! i have no idea

anyways! i tried 2 make an undertale-esk sprite thing + a colored version based off of a drawing i did of her and her brother yesterday (that i prolly dont post unles ppl WANNA see it. 's not that great tho lol) and i based the undertale looking sprite off of something my gf drew for me earlier of like sprites for This Charcter and i think they r rly neat so!!!!!!!!!!! i might fuck around n make like . animated sprites n stuff. might make a fucken uhhh overworld sprite for her too mayb bc yeah. she is very shaped i think! her name is galacta but that is prolly gonna b changed sometime but i dunno what to change it to so like hrrghrgrnghnrrgh nrghrnrghr yeah
