@jonathanstroud , accidentally channeling a nickelodeon show from the 90s which he had probably never seen while writing Book Kipps:
(Big Pete Wrigley (Michael C Maronna), The Adventures of Pete & Pete)
Book fandom, circa casting announcements, lo all these years ago: but Jack Bandeira is too attractive????????
Thousands of Americans who grew up on The Adventures of Pete & Pete: what do you mean he wasn't supposed to be attractive?????

Top 5 TV Shows That Might Get a Possible Reboot 📺♻️
A list of 5 television shows that could, emphasis on could, be rebooted in the future. I can't say that I'm right about that, but, who knows?
1: Kenan & Kel (I mean, after all, if they could do a Good Burger 2, why not a reboot of this hilarious AF sitcom?)
2: Daria (They rebooted Beavis and Butt-Head and Clone High, why not this? Plus, Tracy Grandstaff did reprise her Daria role in an episode of the Beavis and Butt-Head reboot.)
3: The Adventures of Pete & Pete (Possibly. But it would have to depict the Petes as adults since Danny Tamberelli and Michael C. Maronna are in their 40s. Also, they'd probably have it in animated form.)
4: Hannah Montana (I heard that there was a planned reboot for this back in 2019.)
5: The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius (Again, once rumored to have a revival planned.)
So, that's all 5 long-cancelled TV shows that could one day come back. I hope you enjoy this post and be sure to favorite, re-blog, and/or reply. If you choose to, that is.

This content can also be viewed on the Perfect Game Baseball T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this site it originates from. All of the kids in Chris Columbus’s family comedy are irritating—the snarky Linnie (Angela Goethals), the grouchy Jeff (Michael C. Maronna), the cruel Buzz (Devin Ratray), the hopeless bed-wetter Fuller (Kieran Culkin)—but Macaulay Culkin snags the top spot as the precocious, moany smart-ass Kevin McCallister, who tells his mother (Catherine O’Hara) that he hopes to never see his family again. Thankfully, he becomes a lot less insufferable once his wish is granted and he’s accidentally left behind to battle a pair of hapless burglars (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern).
The kid in the Perfect Game Baseball T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this octopus costume who prevents David (Hugh Grant) and Natalie (Martine McCutcheon) from being able to speak openly is irksome, but nothing compared to Thomas Brodie-Sangster’s wide-eyed, eerily well-spoken, painfully earnest Sam in Richard Curtis’s heart-warmer. Firstly, he lets his stepfather (Liam Neeson) agonize over why he’s been so withdrawn lately, only to reveal that it’s due to his crush on an American classmate (Olivia Olson). Then, he spends the next two hours moping around in his dressing gown, writing annoying notes on the blackboard outside his door, drumming the house down, and, finally, causing a major security incident at the airport which seems to have no repercussions.

"The Adventures of Pete & Pete" -- arguably the best live-action series aimed at kids. Under all the zaniness, everything was disarmingly real and genuine. The kids had their personal fascinations with things like favorite songs on the radio, child-totems like merit badges and action figures, and even the unorthodox adults in their lives. It was filmed in suburban New Jersey -- right in the same neck of the woods where "Strangers With Candy" was lensed, I believe -- with actual homes, streets, and schools, not beach-adjacent performing arts schools, urban townhouses, and soundstage-sized lofts. No one would claim that any of the young cast members were the sort of assembly-line child star/products that Disney and Nickelodeon regularly crank out by the case. I don't think it could be made today. You can hear the network execs: "Too ethnic. Not hot. Where's the synergy?"

Live-Action Driver Casting
WHY NOT. LET’S DO IT.
Michael C. Maronna as male Driver
While he’s a wee bit on the old side for what I have in my head, he’s still the best fit. There’s a lot of Big Pete in male Driver, so it just feels right. I’d subtly dye his hair to make it redder like it was when he was younger and emphasize the freckles, but that’s it. He’s my guy!
Alia Shawcat as female Driver
I’m just kinda crushing on her??? She’s great! She’s actually a little bit young for the role, but not enough that it really matters. To compensate, she always has a look in her eyes like she’s seen some shit. I also think her curly hair is gorgeous and would be fine for Driver. Just make it red!
