dilauroyl peroxide (or DCO for short) is an oxidizing agent. The actual chemical name is "2-hydroxyethanol". dilauroyl peroxide has been in existence for decades, but its usefulness as an oxidizing agent has only recently been appreciated. dilauroyl peroxide has numerous cosmetic and medicinal applications. dilauroyl peroxide has been used in treating acne, eczema, scars, sunburns, dilated and damaged lungs, oral candidiasis, thrush, impetigo, and psoriasis. dilauroyl peroxide has also been used to fight off yeast infections, herpes, cold sores, oral ulcers, and oral candidiasis.
dilauroyl peroxide has been widely studied by cosmetic manufacturers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, dermatologists, and pharmacists. Much research has been done on dilauroyl peroxide as an oxidizing agent for acne, blemishes, scars, and eczema. The results of these studies have been inconclusive. However, majority of the studies show that dilauroyl peroxide polymerizes the stratum corneum of the epidermis. These studies have shown that when this polymerization occurs, the melanin is lost gradually and does not replace the melanin that was initially present.
Other dermatologic uses of dilauroyl peroxide have been established through histopathological study. This method involves injecting samples of the patient's skin with dilauroyl peroxide and then examining them under a microscope for changes in pigmentation. The dilauroyl peroxide appears to melt the surface skin cells; however, this change does not result in peeling or detachment of the cells. The molecular structure of the dermal cells is maintained intact during this process.
There are some cases where dilauroyl peroxide market share polymerizes with cellular membranes. This type of dilauroyl peroxide reaction has been called cellularotoxicity. This has been found to occur in reaction to certain drugs, UV light, medications such as topical retinoids, antibiotics, and antineoplastic drugs. This reaction may also occur due to exposure to radiation from the sun. When this happens, dilauroyl peroxide alters the DNA of the cells affected, which may lead to cell mutation and even cancer formation.
Other dilauroyl peroxide-related reactions include reacting explosively with acidic substances. Citric acid, fruit juices, wine, and even certain fruits and vegetables have been found to have an explosive reaction with dilauroyl peroxide. The resulting substance is called resorcinol. Resorcinol has been found to cause irritation to the respiratory tract and to promote asthma attack. Resorcinol has also been found to react explosively with certain other chemicals such as acrylamide or benzoyl peroxide.
Diaminon is another chemical compound found in dilauroyl peroxide and its salts. Diaminon is a natural nitric oxide supplement that dilates the blood vessels and dilates the blood flow in the heart. The main function of dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is to protect the sensitive lining of the human eye from damage by oxidizing chemicals. Other organic peroxides react explosively with dihydroxyacetone. Oxidized medications and other organic peroxides are a cause of dermatitis, eczema, itching, burning, and scarring in some patients.

hexahydrophthalic Anhydride: A New Photolysis Susceptible Structure Estimation Method
Hexahydrophthalic (HHPA), a solid solution which consists of one molecule of hexahydrophthalic anhydride, is an extremely volatile organic compound with a molecular weight of about seven hundred times that of water. Hexahydrophthalic (hhppa) contains no volatile organic compounds; it is usually found in its gaseous state in organic solvents such as ethyl acetate and n-butanol. It has industrial applications in several sectors of science and technology. Hexahydrophthalic (hhppa) consists of three main polar components: (I) an alien, (ii) a bromine, and (c) a hydrogen fluoride.
Many hexahydrophthalic anhydride photochemical reactions produce free radicals, i.e. photolysis, i.e. photoinduced knockdown or photoinduced oxidation, and also release of large quantities of free radicals. The production of these free radicals may be the primary cause for a product's unstable structure, photoesthetically produced instability, or a side-effect of some prior step in the process. The unstable structure of hexahydrophthalic anhydride impairs its reactivity to some chemicals.
Several studies have been performed to determine the respiratory toxicity of hexahydrophthalic anhydride. Three different experimental techniques using rabbits have been reported. In the first procedure, rabbit exhaling was initiated after inhaling hexahydrophthalic anhydride research in air (range of 0.1 -0.2% hexahydrophthalic anhydride). Rhinitis was observed with exposure to hexahydrophthalic anhydride and moderate irritation of the eyes was noted at the site of exhalation. In the second procedure, rabbit lung tissue was exfoliated after chronic exposure to hexahydrophthalic anhydride in air (range of 0.5 -2.5% hexahydrophthalic anhydride). Complete degeneration of the rabbit lung was noted at the site of exhalation and severe irritation of the eyes was noted.
The third experimental procedure employed quantitative HPLC/mass spectrometry to determine the concentration of hexahydrophthalic anhydride in a sample of tap water. The analysis revealed a concentration of hexahydrophthalic anhydride in water that was close to the limit of safety for human consumption. It also indicated that this material may be present in other municipal drinking water supplies. Based on the HPLC/Mass Spectra data, this substance may be a persistent constituent of our tap-water. This study also showed that there was a high correlation between the concentration of hexahydrophthalic anhydride in the sample and the common household tap-water pH.
Based on the assumption that hexahydrophthalic anhydride can dissolve into the ambient air due to oxidation, the investigator tested the extent of its effects on aqueous humor using a scanning microscope. Scanning microscope images were used to reveal the chemical shape of hexahydrophthalic anhydride. A profile similar to the one produced by the Atm-cu machine was detected. This profile is called the hexahydrophthalic anhydride "profile" and is formed from the reactivity between three amino acids, cysteine, lysine, and arginine. The Atm-cu microscope detected the presence of hexahydrophthalic anhydride in an optical glass slide with a mass range of about 10 picometers to about 500 picometers.
Based on the data obtained in conjunction with the Scanning Electron Microscopy/Mass Spectrometry, the investigators concluded that hexahydrophthalic anhydride accumulates at an appreciable rate during days in a closed container. The amount of accumulation was proportional to the total area of the lens, as determined by electron counting. The authors then explored the relationships among the structures formed by hexahydrophthalic anhydride, the total area of lipid droplets in suspension, the reaction mechanism of the formation, and the extent of lipid solvation that occur. It was found that the accumulation of hexahydrophthalic anhydride and its associated radicals can be influenced by the rate of accumulation and the degree of lipid solvation in the suspension. In summary, the present study indicates that hexahydrophthalic anhydride has a key role in photolysis of non-polar lipids in photosensitive cells, but the mechanism is still a mystery.
