🍃 Flora of Middle-Earth 🍃 by rosecatillustration
Seregon was a plant that grew in rocky soil and produced blood-red flowers, which gave it its name. Seregon was noted as the one plant that mantled the otherwise barren head of Amon Rûdh.
Aeglos was a tall, thorny plant, similar to a gorse, but somewhat larger than that. Its sweet-smelling flowers were white, and from them it took its name: aeglos is Sindarin for "snow-thorn". It was found on the lower slopes of Amon Rûdh, upon the surrounding moors, in West Beleriand and perhaps elsewhere.
Brambles of Mordor were ugly with foot-long thorns, which were sharp as the knives of the orcs that came from Mordor. Some of the thorns were long and sharp, meaning that they could puncture very deeply, while others were barbed, making them suited for rending the flesh if one tried to walk through them. They sprawled over the land like coils of steel wire. As Samwise Gamgee remarked, he hadn't thought that any plants actually grew in Mordor, though had he been told that some do, the brambles were exactly what he would have expected of Mordor.
Lissuin was a fragrant flower of Tol Eressëa, and was said to bring the heart ease. It was one of the types of flowers brought by a ship of the Eldar to Númenor to grace the wedding of Aldarion and Erendis.
Elanor was a golden, star-shaped flower that grew in abundance in the forest of Lórien. Samwise Gamgee thought highly of the flower and, at Frodo's suggestion, named his eldest daughter, Elanor Gardner, from it.
It was like "a pimpernel (perhaps a little enlarged) growing sun-golden flowers and star-silver ones on the same plant, and sometimes the two combined".
They grew in sheltered places twisted tree-forms and stunted grey grasses grew. The leaves were shrivelled with Sulphur vapour and maggot hatchlings. They were the only plantlife that seemed to maintain more than a tenuous foothold.
Athelas, also known as Kingsfoil or asëa aranion, was a sweet-smelling herb with healing powers, such as curing wounds, poison and counteracting evil influence such as the Black Breath.
Niphredil was a small white flower that grew first at the moment of Lúthien's birth in Doriath. It was also found among the golden trees of Lothlórien, thickest on Cerin Amroth, where some pale green varieties could be seen.
It was like "a delicate kin of a snowdrop."
Simbelmynë was a small white flower that grew in particular abundance on graves and tombs, like the Barrowfield of the Kings of Rohan beneath the walls of Edoras; and most thickly on the grave of Helm Hammerhand. It was referred to as uilos when Tuor saw these flowers in the great ravine between the Fourth Gate, the Gate of Writhen Iron, and the Fifth Gate that was made of white marble, when he was making his way to Gondolin. Another Elven name for this flower was alfirin, which grew on the low mound that was the tomb of Elendil upon the summit of Amon Anwar.
It grew in turf but small and white like the wood anemone. Though the plant bloomed at all seasons, its flowers were not 'immortelles'.
Mallos was a flower that grew in the vales of Lebennin in Gondor, described as having the shape and colour of a golden bell.

"Can I help?" Aragorn asked, leaning against the doorframe as he watched Y/n grease the baking tin.
"The last time you tried to help, you burned all my cookies and set fire to the oven," Y/n said. She was in the middle of baking an apple pie for Halloween and Aragorn kept pestering her to let him help.
"I won't burn anything this time! You can tell me what to do and I'll see it done." He said, stepping forward and wrapped his arms around Y/n's waist.
"You said that last time as well," Y/n mumbled against Aragorn's mouth as he bent down and began placing small pecks on her lips.
"Please?" He pulled back. Y/n stared up at his blue eyes and bit her lip. He was giving her that stare - those puppy dog eyes that he knew she couldn't refuse.
"Fine,' Y/n said, against her better judgment. "You can start slicing those apples then."
A grin spread across Aragorn's face as he pulled his hair back with one of Y/n's hair ties and grabbed a fruit knife.
"I won't disappoint you, my love," Aragorn said, placing one last kiss on Y/n's forehead before getting to work.
---
"Could you pass me the flour?" Y/n asked, busy stirring the mixing bowl.
"Of course," Aragorn said, setting down his knife.
"Oh, and be careful. There is a hole in the bottom of the - "
Puff!
A cloud of white billowed into the air, followed by coughs and frantic limbs as Aragorn tried to shake the flour from himself.
"Dear Valar," Y/n covered her laugh with her hand, watching as Aragorn waved away the worst of the flour cloud (though most of it clung to his hair and clothes).
"Why does something always happen to me in the kitchen," Aragorn muttered between coughs and placed the half-empty bag of flour on the counter beside Y/n.
"I think you might be cursed." Y/n giggled, wiping some flour from his face.
"I think so too."
"How about you go get cleaned up and I will finish this and pop the pie in the oven," Y/n said, brushing off her now white apron.
"Alright," Aragorn kissed Y/n on the cheek. "I'll be back soon."
---
"I'm back," Aragorn said, his dark hair still from his shower. He pulled out a chair from the table and took a seat. "Took a while because that stuff just clung to my skin."
"Yeah, it's difficult to get off. The pie will be ready soon." Y/n said, wiping her hands on her apron.
"Good. That gives us some time." Aragorn said with a smirk tugging at his lips.
"Time for what?" Y/n cocked an eyebrow as Aragorn motioned Y/n forward.
"Sit." He said, grabbing Y/n's hand, pulling her onto his lap. Y/n could feel her cheeks burn slightly as she straddled him, face was inches away from his. Aragorn trailed his hands down Y/n's waist before they settled on her hips.
"I want you," Aragorn murmured against Y/n's throat, his hot breath sent shivers down her spine.
"I want you too," Y/n whispered as Aragorn began to nibble at the delicate skin of Y/n's throat, briefly moving his hot lips along her jaw, before landing on her lips with a single peck.
"I think it's time you took this thing off," Aragorn said, reaching behind Y/n to untie her red apron and let it drop to the floor. His hands instantly made a bee-line for the laces at the front of Y/n's dress.
"Need some help?" Y/n chuckled, her fingers replacing his as she unfastened her dress. She stood up and let it pool at her feet.
"Gods, you're gorgeous," Aragorn said, pulling her back onto his lap, again in a straddling position.
His fingers trailed down the now exposed skin of her stomach and thighs, over the red lace that clung to her breasts and down to her dampening panties.
Y/n could feel the familiar mix of excitement and need begin to bubble in her lower abdomen as Aragorn pulled off his shirt, revealing his well-defined chest.
She bit her lip as Aragorn trailed his hands back up to her breasts, leaving goosebumps on her skin.
"Can I?" He asked, tugging lightly on the cups of her bra.
"Yes," Y/n nodded. She could already feel the excitement grow between her legs as Aragorn pulled the cups of her bra down, exposing her breasts to the chilly air.
"Beautiful," Aragorn murmured, using one hand to squeeze her breasts while the other hand pulled Y/n in for a kiss. His lips were hot and rough against hers and tasted of sweet apples.
Y/n began to smirk into the kiss - she could already feel his cock poking at her inner thigh. He was desperate, then again, so was she.
Aragorn's grip on her waist tightened when Y/n began to grind her hips against his. Her core throbbed in pleasure as he began rolling his hips in time with hers, creating a mind-swimming bliss.
Y/n moaned, her head falling onto his shoulder as Aragorn reached down and began rubbing her through her panties.
"You're already so wet," Aragorn groaned. Just as he was about to pull her panties down, a loud ringing noise broke through Y/n' moans.
"I think pie is ready," Y/n whispered, smelling the sweet smell of baked apples.
"It can wait," Aragorn said. "I'm not done with you yet."

why the people of Rohan probably thought Legolas was together with Aragorn and not Gimli: a short essay
So I know the movies changed many things from the books but this is very funny to me.
Firstly, Eowyn is supposed to be in love with Aragorn right, and when she sees the necklace Aragorn has, she asks him who the woman who gave it to him was. He then takes a really long time to think and tells that she is “sailing to the Undying Lands with what’s left of her kin”. So Eowyn rightfully thinks Aragorn’s lover is an elf.
Secondly, when Aragorn falls off that cliff and “dies” Theoden and his men see Legolas sadly take his necklace from the orc and generally not accept Aragorn’s death while looking really fucking distraught.
Thirdly, when Aragorn arrives in Helm’s Deep he runs into Legolas outside the main chamber while Eowyn sees their exchange. This is where Eowyn sees Legolas give Aragorn back the necklace that’s from his lover, while Aragorn is holding him close by the shoulder. During this whole exchange they also stand really close to each other and look at the other for long periods of time. Eowyn’s face reflects that she thinks that Aragorn’s elf lover is actually Legolas and he made up a story about the Undying Lands.
And lastly, before the battle of the Hornburg, Legolas and Aragorn talk in Elvish, a special language in the eyes of most men there and after their argument Gimli says “let him go, lad”. The argument and the subsequent comment would make the men around them think that Legolas and Aragorn are together, because honestly it does seem like a lovers’ spat.
This is why I think the people around the three hunters, especially Theoden and Eowyn, would think that Legolas is in a relationship with Aragorn, but to make this even funnier, Legolas was probably together with Gimli and just really concerned for his friend and not wanting to lose yet another person close to him. and I think is the reason why people didn’t notice the closeness of Gimli and Legolas.
I have added links to all my points so you can see this for yourself.
