i dont know how to say this but sometimes i see dresses from the mid 19th century and i know immediately its an american dress .... theyre somehow different and i cannot explain how. this is also true for seeing daugerrotypes of people from like the 1840-1860s and immediately knowing that theyre from the united states..... something about the dresses again but also something else

sometimes classics are classics for a reason yeah very true

#just finished a esmorga. which i hadn't read since that one time in highschool #and just the narrative style was delightful. all the dialectical traits the rich vocabulary without ever losing that familiarity #truly like listening to my great aunt tell a story. the pacing the rhythm the mid-text reflections and deviations #also this is the second book set in 1860s galiza I've read recently and. uf #anyway. all in all a pretty good month das Letras Galegas
