since ive had people asking about it, here's

an overview of my writing process:

its very long (but split into 4 sections) so i will be posting it below the read-more. i fr threw up all over the post and it covers my writing process specifically. because i write unreliable narration >> canonic characters, etc this will prolly not be as useful for like, idk, crack fic writers or whatever else. basically this is what works for me. it might not work for you, but feel free to peruse, im sure no 2 writer's processes are exactly the same. (AND THATS COOL)

Step 1: The Idea & Start

usually my fic starts with a single scene/mood/line, and the whole fic is started around that. (for ex: my fic Teeth started bc of 1 set of lines that we haven't even gotten to yet. [sob]) this also helps me be more motivated, as i become pretty desperate to get that scene/mood/etc written. (as i write i often find new goalposts to write to, which helps keep me motivated, yeah)

occasionally i will write out an initial drabble (like 1 or 2 paragraphs) set in the story idea i have, just to see if i like whatever's going on before i commit.

before i start i decide my setting or at least whatever parts of the setting are relevant. (i wont go into it here bc that's not exactly process.) then i'm game to start.

i've heard a lot of writers struggle with starting a fic and ending it. starting a fic isn't usually a problem for me but if i don't like how the beginning is looking it's usually because i've started it too far away from relevant plot. i don't want to write too much beginning set up, so my solution is always to delete what i have and restart the scene closer to when something happens.

(for ex: when writing everything that went wrong over the summer, the story started earlier and was going to have kayn discover rhaast at the end of the first chapter. but halfway through i decided it was bad. i didnt want to reveal too much and it was kinda boring, became a slog of wordlbuilding. i hated it so i deleted it and instead we meet rhaast in literally the second paragraph.)

imo if you are having trouble with starting stories, literally just throw yourself into the action, its the best way to jog a stuck start. move up the timeline, make things move faster. ask yourself if you really need all the space before the action happens. this method also be used on other scenes, not just beginnings.

it's generally a good idea to figure out what the minimum amount of time you need to complete your story. (this plot that takes place over three weeks, can it be done in three days instead?) but i dont always do that for fanfiction, more my personal writing. fanfiction can be loose and slimy, thats okay. i'm not gonna stress myself over it like i do with my book lol. for me fanfiction is like a vacation. since the characters are already established i can be free to experiment stylistically and try new things.

Step 2: The Writing (The Slog)

(The longest section of this post)

I actually have SO many notes for my writing process so this will be all over the place.

Whenever I write ANYTHING my goals are the following:

keep things concise, without crazy exposition or information overloads.

to me writing is kinda like a puzzle, or a combination lock. i have a line or thought and i just continuously swap words around in my head or on a doc until something clicks. my goal is not just something that fits, it's something that fits BEST. (i am not always successful at this.) so yeah sometimes a line sounds good, but how do i make it sound BETTER. i am always thinking about lines. all the time. i am always turning a scene in my head trying to find the best angle. im literally doing it right now.

this is a stylistic choice that might not apply to everyone, but i love writing unreliable narrators and therefore always write them. in fanfiction i like trying to keep the characters close to their canon personalities, so a lot of the following advice is through that lens.

WHEN IT COMES TO PLOT:

by the time i write my first scene i usually have an idea of the ending. i'm not too terribly focused on it but i definitely prefer to know it. its just something i have to reach eventually. usually little plot ideas will start sprouting up like checkpoints between the start and the end, and then it's just the matter of figuring out how to bridge the gaps between them. one of my favorite tricks i like to use for longer or difficult plots is work backwards. (i call it Keyframing)

(for ex: let's say i'm writing a story about a knight who marries a dragon, but i can't figure out how the hell that's gonna happen. an easy way to come up with ideas is think: what's 1 thing that has to happen between the start goal (there's a knight) and the ending (married to a dragon)? it could be something simple. the knight has to get to the dragon's lair before he can get married. okay, great, there's another plot checkpoint. now what's 1 thing that has to happen between the start and getting to the lair? and also what's 1 thing that has to happen between getting to the lair and getting married?

as you keep adding 1 thing to the plot between points, it basically writes itself, or gives you a very good list of things that HAVE to happen in order to progress the story. then you can add embellishments and tweak it, but its a good method i use for avoiding over-complicated plot. periodically i also ask myself: can this be simplified further?

in cases where i don't have an ending in mind (about 35% of the time) i let my characters drive the plot. this is very easy because i write unreliable, character focused narration. all i think is: ok what're they gonna do. how would they do xyz. hows this affect them. i'll also think about my end goal for the character as it slowly develops and ask myself if it's realistic for them. i don't write crack so if it's something a character won't do then i just won't write it. i'll figure out some other goal or method to achieve the same effect, even if the scrapped idea is cute. :C the end result is usually a more convincing character. (once again this is literally just how i write ff. you DONT have to write like this) in many cases the goal is fine but the method isn't, so i have to rethink how the character realistically reaches that goal. (this was very much the case in my fic, One Promise)

WHEN IT COMES TO WRITER'S BLOCK:

here's my methods for getting over writer's block in no particular order:

taking a break. (or a nap)

reading poetry (this helps bc i try to write poetic) or just read, if im in a pickle.

changing location. (if you write on your phone/laptop. just go somewhere else)

delete the scene and restart from a diff angle. (not advised tbh. i dont think this is a good method, even if it works for me. im only listing it bc its something i do.)

to a lesser degree: changing the font, listening to music i would never listen to normally. or not listening to music at all.

walking around in circles talking to myself about whatever line im chewing on. :/

Okay now im just gonna list a mixed bag of shit that pertains to my literal writing process:

i use google docs because i like to write on my phone and my tablet. i will write in bed before sleeping or in the car. ill write wherever. occasionally i will also use scrivener on my pc for writing assistance. or ms paint. (dont make me go into it)

i almost always try to write what the CHARACTER sees or experiences, versus what a narrator would see. (for example, in my fic Teeth, sett's ears are mentioned a lot. it's because talon keeps noticing them.) this is super important in my writing as it also serves meaning and makes things more concise. oh a character is an artist? so they might notice the technique in a painting. versus the same painting viewed by a carpenter, who might focus more on describing the picture frame. i have specific thoughts on (confident) character voice/unreliable narration, but this post is long lol. if anyone wants to hear it lemme know.

for the most part i only try to describe what's necessary. im not trying to introduce too many characters BY NAME or too many places or too much detailed description-dumping, unless im trying to hide something. ESPECIALLY IN FAN FICTION. one thing i keep in mind is that the reader will fill in the gap. like i could write 'a kitchen with green walls and one window' and boom you already have an idea of what the kitchen could look like. i could write a character using a stove and different readers might imagine that stove in two different places, as pertaining to their imaginary kitchen. that's fine. as long as the location of the stove is unimportant then i dont need to describe it. basically if it's not Vital to my vision then i often don't bother writing it. (this also allows me to push themes and sneak things, but this post is too long)

often while i write im thinking ahead, so ill start noting future lines/plot ideas to use at the bottom of the document so i dont forget them. if it's a long fic my lines-to-be-used will be like, pages long lol.

JUST WRITE. I JUST WRITE. sometimes its slop, that okay. i try to write every single day.

whenever i return to a wip i reread it to get in the Groove.

as i write i sometimes make comments (in google docs) on some words that i know are placeholders. like i'll write a sentence and think: i need to change that word, but im too in the flow to do that now, so i just make a quick note so i dont miss it when editing. i have shorthand for it too, like for example, WC stands for 'word choice' and REP stands for 'too much repetition.' sometimes im lazy and dont do this ._.

speaking of repetition, one of my lil tricks is to start a list of repetitive words as i write. i will often throw in the names of characters, and some common pitfall words for me (words that i have a tendency to use too often). this is helpful for....

Step 3: The Editing

okay first i take a break. the length often depends on how long the fic is. if its a shortie then i just play a game or 2 of league or smth. i must banish the story from my brain.

when i come back i give it a read over and edit whatever issues i see, reword, blah blah. i also use Ctrl + F with my list of repetitive words! this way i can clearly see problem areas where i've used the same word too close together. i will also Ctrl + F grammar missteps, namely double spaces, double periods, and double commas.

for word choice ideas i use wordhippo :3c sometimes i recognize that a line needs to cook so ill come back to it.

i also do character checks where needed. (Would they REALLY do that?) at this point i can identify a problem area pretty easily so i dont do it that much anymore.

then as my final editing step i read the whole thing aloud. this step is so important that i never skip it, even on long ass docs. reading it aloud to myself is vital. when i read it aloud i can actually test the dialogue and see cadence issues and random mistakes that i never catch anywhere else. for longer stories this is done chapter by chapter as finished, which is,,, thank god lol.

if im unsure about a story then i'll let it ferment for a while (days, weeks) before i come back and edit, just to make sure im not crazy or smth.

Step 4: The Posting

i post in ao3's rich text format, so it keeps some of the formatting. then i hit PREVIEW and then i hit EDIT again. bc ao3 is finicky about italics and will add weird ugly spaces bc of that. so to get rid of them i use my CTRL + F method again to check for space + periods (literally a space then a period), space + commas, double spaces (again), etc. i also center those *** things that people use as scene breaks bc they're never centered. takes like 5 minutes.

then i post and try not to feel immediately awful lol.

anyway that's my writing process. this ended up super fucking long holy shit. sorry i like, rambled and blabbed. i try to be thorough. there's a lot more that i can talk about not pertaining to the process itself but like, yeahhhh. thanks if you read all this, hopefully its not terribly boring.

Anyways here’s some concepts for how some currently not in Gen3 characters could fit into the universe part 2

Wydowna Spider

Ok, so first of all, Weberella, her super hero alter ego, is just straight up real now. She actually is a super-hero, protecting monsters from the forces of evil. However, no one knows her secret identity as high school girl Wydowna Spider. It’s tough, but with her multiple arms she can juggle both lives… until this new supervillain threatening Monster High might be too big for her to handle. So Clawdeen, Ghoulia, Spectra, and Frankie, who have figured all of this out somehow, decide to become superheroes to help her!

Isi Dawndancer

A popular eektok dancer who also does little explanation videos on her Potawatomi culture (which also informs her dances). Cleo adores her videos, but just can’t understand why Isi does all of this anonymously (oh yeah she usually wears a mask so people don’t know her identity). So after Isi transfers to Monster High and Cleo somehow finds out she’s the eekdok dancer Cleo… reveals her identity. After this, Isi starts getting a bunch of attention she doesn’t want, from the paparazzi, to racist people. Isi understandably, once having a moment of peace, confronts Cleo and reveals that she genuinely doesn’t want to be in the spotlight. Cleo apologizes, deletes the video, and casts a curse to remove Isi’s identity from everyone but herself and Isi.

Jackson and Holt

They shift based on if it’s night or day again, and due to school like being nocturnal, Holt is the main one now. Jackson is a teen inventor who made a teleporter so he could go to human school while Holt was at Monster High, and both of them use fake last names for obvious reasons. IDK what Jackson’s is but Holt’s is literally just “Hide” and it works. I don’t have any specific episode ideas other than Clawdeen having to try and hide Jackson’s existence from Bloodgood after some weird specific mishap with an invention or something.

Elissabat

A new up and coming boovie-star that Dracula and Draculaura enjoy. So when she transfers to the school, Draculaura immediately wants to befriend her. The issue is that Elissabat and Lala’s personalities just… don’t click. They just don’t get along well. Draculaura is freaked out by this, worried that Elissabat will put a bad name for her out there in the world, and she won’t be able to chase her dreams. This causes distress, and Elissabat reveals that while they may not get along, Drac shouldn’t jump to conclusions on what Elissabat will do to her image… after Frankie and Clawdeen reveal all this to her out of fear for Drac. Elissabat doesn’t really interact with others all that much, so she couldn’t really tell what was going on. Maybe a later episode could be about her terrible social skills?

AUGHHH I don't know what happened but an ask got deleted! I am so sorry @doves-fandomstuff, I think you were asking about what might happen next in the Meursault arc and I really enjoyed the ramble you had before but... *sob* it's gone...

Anyways, I'm really hoping we get at least one more chapter before a pov change, since I think it makes little sense to switch back now. See, now that we know Dazai wants the info from Dostoevsky to help the Agency, it'd be a little weird to switch without... actually moving the plot forward at all... idk. I guess we'll see but I really do hope it's not another nine months.

The fun thing about this arc is that

a) it is all these characters at their absolute pettiest (so it's funny as heck)

and b) there are so many characters with their own agendas right now and so many different things they could decide to do

Who's going to move the plot forward? It's hard to say and a lot of things could go right now.

Fyodor: He could manage to escape. He could be killed. He had some reason for picking Chuuya of all people. We still don't know what he intends for the world. I am inclined to think he is only pretending to work for Fukuchi. I honestly think it is far too soon to kill him off.

Dazai: Again, same as above. I don't really think Dazai will die, as his arc is all about finding some reason to live - him dying would seriously detract from that. However, I could see a version of events play out where everyone thinks he's dead. (I know we're tired of the fake out deaths at this point but I think this one could legitimately be interesting...)

Sigma: We have to be building up to something with him. I think Sigma might be the one to get the information somehow, or have an epic moment of some kind. Be great if he was able to transmit info to Atsushi so that Atsushi could finish the arc with that initiative he just found the will for.

Chuuya: Come on. He's got to do something to change things up. Though I've said before how nervous I am about the potential use of Corruption given that Fyodor knows about it... fear...

Gogol: Oh boy. The wildcard of the group. I'm inclined to think he won't stay uninvolved in all this. Will he help Dazai? Fyodor? Mess up both of them? Help both? Who knows?

They've all got different motives here. Fyodor was in the prison for some unknown reason, but it seems he just needs to get out. Perhaps he already accomplished what he came there for. Dazai needs the information from Fyodor to help the Agency, so his job is already a lot harder. Sigma just wants to survive, poor guy, but he's also tired of being used and has just figured out that the Agency and Dazai have a mutually helpful relationship - neither is using the other. I suspect he'll be joining the Agency after. At least I hope so. Chuuya also doesn't want to be controlled. We don't know what he was doing when he got turned, but his priority is to the Mafia and its safety, so he will continue to fight for that. And Gogol wants his freedom above all. I am unsure whether he will continue to seek it through destroying Fyodor and therefore his attachment to him, or whether he will decide he'd be unhappy without him (as with Poe about Ranpo) - but either way is very compelling.

I, personally, hope for a chapter where Chuuya turns on Fyodor in an epic way, which in turn inspires Sigma to take action.

I also really hope for more Gogol focus. I don't talk about him a lot but I really should. He's an excellent character who could really go in many directions at this point in the story, and all would be very, very compelling!

Danganronpa Despair Time Spoiler and Theory Below

In these last two episodes, I noticed that Hu has a scrape under her eye that she definitely didn't have before.

I believe that this could be a defensive injury from the Chap. 2 victim. Yeah, I'm on Manipulator Hu train, if partly informed by Deltarune brain rot. "Pull the strings and make them ring."

These scratches are actually an anger symbol as pointed out in the comments.

Hu talked Nico into killing Ace, providing them with a weapon - her wire. They met up with Rose to paint and stole her turpentine. Nico went to the gym and knocked out Ace with the turpentine.

Hu overheard the conversation between Arturo, Eden, and Arei, then wrote that note for Arei to find. Hu then stole weights and grip tape from the gym and Arei's rope from wherever Mono-TV put it.

Arei arrived in the relaxation room expecting to see Eden, but it was actually Hu. A struggle ensued. Hu bound Arei's wrists with the grip tape, removing her wrist guard to do so.

David being in the relaxation room complicates this. She might have asked him to leave or waited for him to do so on his own.

Then she tied the weights to a rope and the weighted rope to Arei. The weights held Arei down as she drowned in the pool. Hu removes Arei's body from the pool and drags it to the playground. She removes the weighted rope and the tape before hanging the body from the swing set.

The weights are hidden in the starchy ball of clothing. Maybe Hu convinced Levi to help her hide them, since he was doing laundry, IDK.

I originally deleted this because frankly I was busy and this is obviously not someone interested in a response, only in being a dickhead, and also because I had limited laptop access at the time and couldn't make this meme, which was the first thing I thought of.

(idk, maybe this is how all the kids are talking in Ireland or Aotearoa or whatever but I think if I had said this to the kids I tutored in like 2017 they'd tell me to leave.)

But I kept thinking about it today while doing some work on the wiki and wanted to give it a serious answer, because while the anon doesn't really deserve one, it's worth talking about the implications here.

I just spent some time today updating the Felderwin article in (slightly late) preparation for Veth's Mighty Nein Origins. While so much of the articles surrounding many other PC’s pasts were updated regularly, Felderwin had nearly nothing - it briefly mentioned that Veth was there and the history was almost entirely directly plagiarized from the Explorer's Guide to Wildemount, despite it being the site of some incredibly important moments in Campaign 2. You can, as of right now (5:50 pm Eastern Time on January 18 2023) take a look at Encyclopedia Exandria's entry and compare it to the Fandom entry, or just check the history of the article before today if you'd rather not go to Fandom.

I think the wiki’s importance in the fandom is complicated, and it would take someone with a better understanding of the fandom and more distance from both wikis than I to know what this means. What I do know is that people go to wikis when they write meta or fanfic, or for descriptions for art. If there’s nothing on the page, I do think it means a hit to what kind of content you might see. It’s not a death knell by any means, because there’s always the transcripts and the EGTW, but it’s more work, and not everyone has the time or inclination to put it in.

Imagine it wasn’t Veth and Fjord. Imagine the ships the admin of the fandom wiki tried to diminish weren’t Fjord/Jester and Caleb/Essek. Imagine it was your favorite - imagine that this site, which serves as the portal for some new fans, an opportunity to do a crash course if you want more detail than the official recaps, didn’t say (for example) that Beau and Yasha were in a relationship, or hedged on the importance of their date. Imagine that every Campaign 3 character’s history was filled out except for Imogen’s, or Ashton's.

Because that’s the problem: bias isn’t, ultimately, about it being unfair to Veth or people who like Veth, even though it is also very much that. It’s a sign of deeper problems. It tells you “this person doesn't value having good or neutral information; they want to try to shape and police people's experience within the fandom, in a space that is specifically intended to be a neutral resource." And they will do it whether or not you happen to agree with them. It's rather chilling when someone thinks that's more acceptable than me having opinions on a personal blog.

And perhaps you're saying "it's not that deep, I just sent this because I think you suck." And, you know, that's your issue, and I can't help you. But I do want you to leave you with this: while it's true we have no way to compete with Fandom's SEO capabilities on the general scale, we actually kick their ass on most new lore - including in Google search. We've actually had a few cases of them taking phrasing off our wiki, often because of posts editors have made on Tumblr. My actual intent in making that post was to uh, sneakily get them to update their Fjord page, not in the least because it's the most searched page on their wiki; sadly, I don't think they have. It's a huge missed opportunity, and the fandom on the whole loses something from it. Fortunately, our Veth (and Fjord) coverage is awesome and I hope you all check it out!

So while everyone was happy our "Sans" over here started to feel weird about something that was about to happen which is not a good one...

But he ignored this because he thinks it's not important and goes to his daily work which is the lab/laboratory 🧪🧪🧪🧪🧪.....

-(and yes he works as a scientist for being a past scientist in the underground the person that hire him for this job was actually very impress on how smart and good at doing a lot of scientific stuff idk but yeah that's how he got hired at being scientist and yes he mostly lead on a lot of projects since it's always successful if he is the one to do it and the others they are his assistants. I know right, he is so cool- now lets get back to the story)

He did this to help papyrus with the bills in the house, electricity,and other important stuff...

While he got his way to the lab, he was immediately called to the other laboratory where high ranking scientists work there. When he found this out he was quite confused on why he is called to go there but he did go anyway. When he finally got there all of them looked at him and gestured at him to sit with them, that's when one of them decided to speak.

Papyrus got depressed and still can't get over his brother's death even though he doesn't know that his brother is still alive all these years and sans on the other hand is still alive and the scientists that experimented on him created somehow a portal that can through other multiverse and then they just throw sans in the portal not knowing which place he would end up... because all the think is that he will end some random au or multiverse..

But sans ended up on a time space it is almost similar to the anti-void of error sans but more different the only similar thing about from the anti void is that he is stuck on space where all of the clocks the multiverse's time shows on how long the multiverse has been existing over years and decades and beside the clocks of time multiverse he was also surrounded by space 🌌 of galaxy it was very beautiful in the time space unlike the anti-that was full of white.

But he was stuck there but in the end he managed to get out of there but still lives there since he counts it as his home. And when he saw the mirror that's when he realized that his appearance changed a lot because of the side effects of the experiment and being stuck on the time space he ended up looking like this but he didn't mind it. But he is going to admit he missed and brother but can't since he won't recognize him so he didn't visit his own au but he did visit one time...

He did this to go to the place he used to work where all of the people that betrayed him and lied to his brother and you wanna know what happened to saraya welllll let's just say that she got tortured how she tortured sans and in the end she died easily since she's human not monster.

And yes he actually also managed to have new abilities like to erase anything with a single touch which can control meaning he can activate this power when ever he wants and turns out he break things very easily since he managed to break titanium

Which the portal the scientists made were made off and he destroyed that with a couple of punches and boom 💥 gone...

And all of his other abilities like any other sans have like gaster blasters, bones, like that have those powers turned even more destructive.

And yes he can't die easily like he is almost immortal but not really he actually has a couple of weaknesses like reminding him of his past of what happened to him and the other fear it's mystery.

And even after he left his au he helps other sanses from other multiverses to help their au and he still protects his au even though he left...

And yes only the underated sanses aka sanses that aren't that recognized enough know him because he doesn't show his face and has black wooden masks that cover his entire face...

And all of this makes him think about what his name would be so he decides on the name -Delete...

The creator of this au is: me and yes it's an original idea kinda inspired by error sans story...

Sims 3 Memory Freer

Been kinda busy so I haven't had any sims3 time lately :( but I'm back at it and lookin' at Error 12 again, this time with an ASI file you can use!

Here is a link to the memory "freer", spoilers, it doesn't really free memory. Please read the readme, but basically it just shows a message box/alert when you're getting close to the cap, and has a hotkey (f8) for setting max detail lots to 0 (sometimes helps free memory in a pinch).

To use it you'll either need the smooth patches ASI loader or dxwrapper's (recommended), then just pop it into your Bin directory (make sure LoadPlugins is set to 1 if you're using dxwrapper). I'm also going to update my performance tweaks post to fix some of the now-inaccurate information, but most of the stuff there I still recommend (just not dxvk).

If anyone knows anything that triggers a purge/cleanup lmk! It would fix literally all of this. I've tried traveling to other maps, entering into various editors, changing settings, chanting hymns etc, but nothing seems to work.

Unfortunately nothing I've tried on the memory-freeing front has really panned out, but I still have some avenues that I want to check out. The issue seems to be lot objects not being fully unloaded once the lot is no longer high-detail loaded, which causes memory to balloon over time as more lots are detail loaded.

Here's some things I've tried, in typical rambling fashion, a lot of this will be meaningless to 99% of people:

DXVK…. Nooooooo…. It seems like it does increase overall memory usage. I'm not sure if I've just stuffed a config option up or something, but it seems to have a substantial impact. I'd recommend just sticking with d9 for now, or using dxwrappers 3D9On12 (idk if it actually works tho)

HeapCompact/Clearing working set. Clearing the working set will let you save, however it wont actually remove that memory, you'll just crash instead of getting an Error 12

Obvious memory leaks. Sadly every alloc has a free assigned to it, so there's no easy, obvious memory leaks.

Setting D3DPOOL to DEFAULT, game no like, textures don't display

Manually clearing textures. Kind of worked, but there's no real way to selectively know which textures are safe to unload, because the game often reports things wrong. I might revisit this failing everything else

Deleting cache files/save cleaning. Not a fan, doesn't fix the issue, merely delays it and makes your game look like glitchy garbage in the meantime. If you're going to clean your save, just delete the _objects file in WorldCaches and then mark it as read only. The sims one isn't worth the limbless horrors that await you, and sims load in much faster than objects, which can sit grey'd for minutes (or until you save your game and they all load in at once and crash you)

Various config options and settings. I did find some neat hidden options and some useful settings, but nothing that really has a huge impact. I found ForceHighLODObjects which is what I was looking for in my initial performance tweaks post, which basically cures stutter, at the cost of much higher memory usage. Useless until there's an object free-ing fix, and even then probably a very bad idea on maps like Alpine County.

He really wasn't all for keeping it at first. He's too career driven and narcissistic to start thinking about a baby yet! But, wether it was convenience or an actual change of heart, he ended up going through with it none the less

He was in jail for three years, so I can't help but feel that he might have had the baby during that time too. Wether it was conceived before or during that time, too. I don't have a specific headcanon in mind for that, I just thought it interesting ig?

Will sing to his baby in utero. Sure, they're just softened versions of rock songs, but they relax the baby nicely so who's to judge?

He starts actually paying attention to his university degree or whatever he's doing (wiki says he's a student so idk). Before, he was sorta lax about it because he was so sure he'd make it as a big guitarist anyways. And he still is, of course, but now that he has to take care of someone else that absolutely depends on him, he's more worried about his future career. He wants his kid to have a stable life, he can't afford to fuck that up.

Definitely names his kid after one of his favourite musicians. Jimi or Stevie, and such.

Overall, he ends up maturing a lot because of this baby. Obviously, he's not entirely better or fixed or anything; he's still a bit of an asshole at times. But it really does slap some sense into him :)

Re-Read Break again and I just. Have a lot of emotions. Was also listening to TS' Exile and the emotions tripled. Now I'm wondering what happens to anakin. Will he heal? Does he find his own way? Will he find peace, somehow? He was awfully aware of what's gonna happen to him if he stays - so what does he do now? Swear off the Force, find a spot of galaxy with lush flora and try to (finally) live for himself? I'm invested in the obikin, but I also have money on a relatively content Anakin - even if he's always gonna be a little heartbroken. What of Obi-Wan? What went through his head? What is //going// through his head? I imagine he knows where Anakin is but chooses to stay away. He does, however, send anakin little notes that he's sure Anakin deletes (he's not sure why anakin hasn't blocked him off completely) - just anecdotes. I don't think he would apologise in those missives. Too impersonal, too imposing, not nearly enough sincerity, etc. Idk man. I just have. A lot of feelings for this one.

<3333 anon, this was so exciting to get - just, that it's playing in someone else's mind, wondering what happened... It's extremely cool to me!! I keep saying I will write a sequel for it one day and hopefully I will... But as my track record is, er, not good, I will at least ramble about what I planned!

Anyway, this one came from my kind of headcanon fix-it verse where Anakin's at about the last possible point of getting out before inevitably Falling. It would have to be a big enough break to stay away from the Jedi, and Palps, and Padme, etc. So Anakin would do what everyone does in SW when left to their own devices for 5 mins - get involved with some kind of criminal enterprise.

Pirates, bounty hunters, who knows. I picture him spending a couple of years being fairly wild and turning his back on all forms of responsibility/duty. In the tiny bit of the sequel I have written it's glossed over as:

Here he wasn’t The Hero with No Fear, or The Chosen One, or even General Skywalker.

He didn’t have to live up to some ancient prophecy, or down to the worst fears of people who had only ever been waiting for him to fail.

Because he had tried being good and just and righteous. And when that hadn’t worked he had been wild and wanton and feckless.

Raced pods, and sniffed spice, and kriffed his way across the galaxy.

Anyway, after a suitable amount of time I've handwaved away, and the good guys have uncovered Palps' plot and brought him down - Anakin probably helped in some way on the sidelines with ferrying information or suchlike - Anakin would end up settling on Stewjon which he likes because it's got a temperate climate, fairly laid back vibes, and (though he won't always admit to it) he knows it's where Obi-Wan was born which makes it ~special~ to him.

By the time the sequel opens his view on life is that he might not exactly be happy but he is mostly content. He's doing a job he likes (fixing ships or similar), in a place he likes, surrounded by people who don't expect anything from him but to be a decent fellow human being sentient.

I always think that the thing Anakin most needed was to learn to value himself, not the perception others had of him. He badly needed some time to be able to make his own decisions and live life on his own terms, and generally work out who he is and what he actually wants. So, yeah, the sequel would open with him having had a decent bash at that and being fairly chill with everything.

Then there is an ~event~ that brings Obi-Wan back into his life. Anakin would have kept in sporadic contact with Padme, and Ahsoka, and possibly others, but though he's kept distant tabs on how Obi-Wan is, they haven't actually spoken since he left. Anakin because he thinks it'll only re-open old wounds as he has faced up to the idea that he will always want more than Obi-Wan can give, and Obi-Wan because he'll have been busy drowning in his own guilt and interpreting Anakin's radio silence as proof that he hates him.

My still fairly vague idea for this is that Stewjon is basically space!celtic fringe and is renowned for its ancient ruins, etc. Generally the best finds are in one of the other sectors than where Anakin lives, but there's still plenty of interstellar traffic brought in, especially of students and historians and space archaeologists who are presumably good at what they do but terrible at maintaining their engines.

Anyway, a particularly spectacular find is dug up and everyone's excited because they're going to send out a ~high ranking~ Jedi who, under the terms of the new and improved Republic (aka trying to get over all of Palps' galaxy wide propaganda), have to now recompense the locals fairly for anything they want to take back to the Temple. Then even greater excitement because there's a complimentary find in his own sector. (Mostly so I can write about his new neighbours/local officials/etc being like, omg you need to raise your price for everything by at least 50 credits. Posh people with deep pockets from the Core are coming! And Anakin thinks about his own time with the Jedi and the hospitality they received, who must have paid for it, etc.)

[Something, something, something, the two ancient finds will represent Force balance in some way and trying to remove them causes problems I've yet to plot. The important thing is that it will kind of symbolise Anakin and Obi-Wan balancing each other out.]

The important thing is that they obviously send out Obi-Wan who, actually being Stewjoni, surely has the best chance of securing a good deal on this stuff. But of course, Obi-Wan actually knows next to nothing about Stewjon. So inevitably he ends up reconnecting with Anakin, while Anakin explains to him what the people care about on his own home planet. (Because during all the time he's been 'over' Obi-Wan he has nonetheless dedicated much time to thinking about how much his old Master would enjoy x, y, and z about Stewjon, and whether or not Obi-Wan might have understood him better if he remembered anything about his birth family, etc, etc.)

It's all very sweet and grown up and lovely, and then Anakin realises he's getting in over his head because Obi-Wan is just going to go back to the Temple, and he's going to be stuck desperately in love with him all over again. All the hard work he's had to put in to get his head in order, to carve out a place for himself, it's all put at risk by what he feels.

But this time it's Obi-Wan who won't stop pushing. Who keeps finding reasons to see him, sitting too close, etc. Culminating probably in some kind of accident / care taking situation where a recovering Obi-Wan tries his best to ~seduce~ Anakin, as much as a guy who's never got past witty repartee with people trying to kill him can. Ultimately Anakin refuses because he knows it will only make everything more complicated / hurt worse when Obi-Wan still picks the Order over him. Cue much angst.

Then more stuff happens than I'll probably ever have patience to write, with the endgame being the pair of them getting together and learning lessons about compromise, and balance, and living for more than duty...

Okay so hear me out with your eyes right quick bc I'm still feeling a type of way about this situation.

Basically KikoVanity got called out for stealing hair from a SecondLife creator, but another Simmer (who I'll call SD) got caught in the crossfire and they ended up deactivating their account. Lemme back up right quick.

But here's where the problem comes in for me and this is my opinion and mine alone. It's this post right here.

Now I could totally be wrong and might be overthinking it, but I can't help but feel like a narrative is being pushed that SD and Kiko're the same person (they're not) or that SD knowingly supported a thief which is why they deleted their tweet (they didn't). Around the time the picture was deleted, I DMed SD and informed them that the hair was stolen and they had absolutely no idea, especially given the fact that they don't fck with SecondLife theft at all. They deleted the pic immediately afterwards and that should've been the end of it. Idk what happened during the 8hrs I was gone but when I did came back I saw their account's been deactivated and I'm just hoping it's to avoid the drama altogether.

In a very, very general sense, I was talking about cybersecurity writ large -- very passionate, very smart furries people are constantly trying to futureproof the internet and make it safe to use. But that is happening at a massive scale -- governments, policies, standards, corporations who are responsible for the data and securing it, etc. etc.

There are also those who advocate for, and try to teach people how to be safe online and protect their information/self/friends/etc. I went for a walk earlier and it did strike me that I might be incredibly lucky to have been born when I was -- I think I'm one of the last generations who went through a school curriculum where I grew up that included basic internet safety, because the internet was very new and there was an actual concerted push to protect minors using it. Internet literacy was a thing. Lying was expected to keep yourself safe. I told so many people I was 25 when I was like, 9. Real names and all that shit we're so used to now, that whole web 2.0 shift to social media (imagine me putting airquotes around that entire phrase pls) changed a lot about the web. I think if you grew up just baked in it, it's harder to step back and look at and be like, the fuck happened? but. The fuck did happen.

But the other things I was thinking of are ones like Project Arachnid. Or the folks behind this: Inside the Bitcoin Bust That Took Down the Web’s Biggest Child Abuse Site.

(There's another anon I just deleted who asked what ~*I personally do other than scold people*~ and I will say that a year ago I contacted Arachnid, asked where I would have to go career wise to end up working with them, and changed my fucking career to ops/cybersec. I actually remember seeing that exchange here too. I can't find it for some reason, maybe you deleted it idk, but it wasn't a tiny mistake. as for the “misinformation” thing. i had previously thought JD had appealed 2 times after the original UK case, making it 2 judges + 1 judge (the main UK judge) which equals 3 judges overall. then an anon i believe, informed me he had appealed in the UK once.

which now looking back i see that was also wrong, but also he was denied the chance to appeal - which is another judge saying he had no prospect of winning the case again or whatever the fuck. i can’t quite remember when this was, but the UK trial has always been more of an afterthought for me because the US one is more recent and problematic in the social stratosphere. so yes i made a mistake, perhaps didn’t look into things enough in relation to the UK trial technicalities, but like how does that change anything lmao??? there’s still solid, concrete evidence of him having abused amber. and obviously the main UK judge saw that. so have domestic violence experts - who are obviously way more prepared to talk about all this than me

So, I just rewatched Murder at the Orient Express with my dad because I was thinking if writing a crossover fic, and you're the only one I know that seems to care enough for this movie for me to ask: What was up with Pierre Michel's involvement in the plan? Like, did it all happen on the train just because he worked there, or did he work there for the purpose of the murder? If he worked at some other random place like a bar or something would the lawyer or the butler have to somehow steer the guy there instead? My dad pointed that out at the end and now I can't stop thinking about it sorry

all the information we get in the movie is linda ardern saying "mcqueen arranged travel on the day michel was on duty" or something like that so it's really up to your interpretation, however his mother dies one month before the movie takes place and he does say he was looking after her before that (for the past couple years) though it's not clear if he was working on the train during this time, so it's possible he started working there specifically for the plan. i also can't remember if he actually says anything about that during the deleted interview scene which he might. in my own personal carefully constructed overly detailed Pierre Backstory™ he was already working as a train conductor for a while, left/got extended leave (idk how this worked in the 30s) during the whole armstrong thing to go help his sister and then to look after his mother afterwards and starts working again after she dies / linda's like aren't you tired of being nice. don't you wanna go apeshitt and kill this guy. but like i said i made that bit up.

in terms of whether it's on a train because of that i think it's on a train bc trains are cool but also it makes the most sense i.e. you have a smaller amount of people than say, a hotel, in a confined space, most of whom are in on it, making it easyish to avoid getting caught. or something. the reason it would be more difficult in a bar is because you're not in close proximity to your target for very long. also i think there's something in the book about the murder taking place in yugoslavia bc of something to do with the police? maybe? not 100% sure on that

anyway i hope this was at least a little helpful but in summary: pierre's only half a character so you can do what you want really. also if you do write this please PLEASE tag me or something i want to read it

Mako Mermaids was a great show ( and still is ), it marked a lot of people's childhood and stayed in memory: maybe with a coherent name, or sometimes just as unclear images. And you're lucky if you've picked the first one. Any how you managed to pop up here, today even after all those years, it's seriously good to have you. I'll be direct, I need your help. I don't know for you, but to me Nixie was the best one. She was funny, cute and so herself. Ivy Latimer seemed truly into the character. It was a shame when she just disappeared after the first season, yet no big deal. Don't get me wrong, I knew whatever Ivy was gonna do later I would love as much as I did with mm.
