In which winners of the previous nine (!!) polls and the Last Life burning tower scene will battle it out for ULTIMATE UNHINGED RENCHANTING MOMENT!! Deliberately made to cross over from 2023 to 2024 to wish for a new year full of Renchanting <3

Starting from Round 1, the OG, the beginning of this series in Feb 2023— congrats to "Ren calling Maidtyn "very very sexy" completely unprovoked"!. Now, fellow Tumblr users, this is a historical moment because the Maidtyn trend was the Tumblr response to Martyn being active on Tumblr, and it snowballed into the Mint Mistletoes of MCC19 wearing skins of maid dresses (and a butler suit). This is the tangible impact of the Tumblr fan community on MCC. And of course it's about maid dresses.

Round 1 was quickly followed up by Round 2, and narrowly winning by FOUR votes is... [drumroll] "r/place (2022) when Martyn helped place a pixel of blush on RK Ren"!. Truly a chaotic moment that somehow became a highlight even in the overall chaos of those few days.

But the numbers really peaked in Round 3, aka. the Limited Life edition when Martyn's lore stream repeatedly dropped bombs on us. 100% of these moments are from Martyn, by the way. But which unhinged moment was the most unhinged? Which moment will win like Martyn? Unsurprisingly, the most popular option are those two words that basically sum it up— "UNGUIDED HAND". An unhinged moment that won with a whopping 404 out of 1913 votes.

Things did not calm down after Limited Life. Some might say the moments only became more unhinged. 2.5 months after LimLife ended, Round 4 began. Most of these moments are also from Martyn. Most unhinged of all: "Martyn declaring in a low voice: 'Third Life never ended for me'." Yeah it sure didn't, buddy.

Fast forward to September 2023. Treebark Week 2023! Surely the perfect moment for a poll! Also, I need to add that I was so excited about Round 5 that I posted it before TBW ended and... let's say it immediately got worse the day after I posted the poll. My hubris for assuming it was the end... Anyways, Martyn's Tumblr shenanigans kick in once again. Congrats to "Martyn saying nothing about an ask that claims his character is in love with Ren", which also ended up being a significant post to Scurvyblr. For reasons.

Two months after TBW, the pining gets exponentially worse. And I do mean exponentially. Enter Round 6, which has a lot of insane moments, but there was one clear winner, a moment that swept with 32% of the votes— everybody clap and cheer for "Martyn's 50 word 3L AU drabble - "Luck be with ye.... Hand"!! At the time of writing, that post has 4.1k notes. Martyn's just like us. He's writing fanfiction and that's so real of him.

Merely ten days later, fires are crackling, demons are giggling— it's the Decked Out open day! And we got a Renchanting feast! Round 7 emerged from That Iconic Burning Stone Box and was dedicated to moments the stream day. With 39% of the votes, the unhinged moment that swept was "Ren to Martyn: You have very fine lips there and a wonderful neck for kissing". Honorable mentions go to Martyn's Twitch chat (for surviving), Martyn's viewers (for clipping it with varying degrees of "what did he just say??"), and of course, False (for locking them in and kickstarting whatever the improv demon roleplay was).

A few weeks later, the flames have died down— or have they? Round 8 enters with a steel chair and Ren has more unhinged moments now. Martyn's Tumblr takes home another win with "Martyn reblogging a post that calls Ren his “Minecraft boyfriend”!! This is the third win that's from Martyn's Tumblr blog. You love to see it.

Last but not the least, Round 9 from last week! It's finally Ren's turn to dominate. Our winner is.... "Ren mentions going to sleep and dreaming of Martyn’s 'beautiful, beautiful eyes'"!! Appropriately clipped with the caption "Insane".

But that's not all! In Round 1 + 2, I purposefully excluded the altar scene and the burning tower scene because I felt those two would sweep. Now, I think the altar scene is still untouchable but the burning tower seems almost normal now. (As normal as an unhinged moment could be.)

A new unhinged moment has appeared! Challenger approaching! Last Life Ren purposefully sets his tower on fire after knowing Martyn is watching him and Martyn runs to save him while screaming "Ren, what are you doing to yourself! Stop burning yourself!".

Okay, okay, my dramatic commentary is done. Hey, I'm not a Renchanting fan for nothing. Here's the poll. Have fun :D

Kickstarter for the Amigurumi Makers!

Hi everyone! Sorry for the absence of posts on this blog again 😅 I was laid off mid-Feb and all of my brain space has been reserved for refreshing my skills and job-searching, but hopefully I'll be back to work soon and then I can queue up some more posts here! (It takes me hours... I also need to find a better way to do that...)

As a chronic pain girlie myself, I started following this product the second I heard about it's existence lol

The kickstarter just went up so I wanted to mention it here for anyone who might be interested!

If you've never used Kickstarter before, please make sure you're informed about how it works! Research to your heart's content to make sure you're comfortable. The gist is that projects are all-or-nothing based on whether they reach their funding goal, so if you back a project that doesn't end up reaching it's goal, you don't receive any rewards you pledged for, but you also aren't charged anything.

As of writing this post, though, this Kickstarter looks to be fully funded!!!!

Brandon Sanderson did make smart career choices, but they might not be what you think.

This is NOT another post breaking down “what you can learn!” from Sanderson’s massive Kickstarter earlier this month. Well, it kind of is, but it’s the opposite of some of the others.

Buckle up, it’s unpopular opinion time.

On March 1, 2022, fantasy author Brandon Sanderson announced a Kickstarter: pledge to help him publish four standalone novels he’d secretly written during the pandemic. He and his team set a goal of one million dollars, and he estimated they would get two to four million total.

In three days, the Kickstarter had reached twenty million dollars, and it currently (as of March 27, 2022) sits at thirty-three million dollars.

The publishing world was—and still is—staggered.

In the last three weeks, I’ve seen a dozen indie authors and marketers try to break down that massive success and what lessons others can take from it for their own careers. Most of them write to various Amazon markets. Some of them made good points. One thing everyone keeps repeating is that Sanderson has made “smart career choices.” But every time, I’ve walked away from those articles shaking my head. Most of the articles seem to be missing the biggest and most important point. It's hard to talk about taking lessons from Sanderson’s marketing before you talk about lessons from his WRITING career.

A few facts:

The four novels Sanderson will be publishing with the Kickstarter money are already written. He wrote them for his wife (and because he wanted to explore new stories) during the pandemic.

He will be publishing them through his own company: Dragonsteel Books. He created the company to publish special editions of his books, carry his book swag*, and have an alternative option for people to buy his books if Amazon ever stops selling his books again.**

Sanderson has a reputation for being reliable with his book publishing. If he says he’s going to publish something, he does it, and he tries to keep fans updated as he goes.

*Book swag / book merch = special items created for fans of books. **Years ago, Amazon briefly stopped selling his books because of contract disputes. You can read more about it here.

And some facts about Sanderson himself, if you’re not familiar with his work:

His first book to be published—Elantris—came out in 2005. It was the sixth novel he wrote, and it was published by Tor. It took eighteen months for someone to read the book and then call him about it.

Before Elantris was published, he’d written thirteen novels.

He now has so many novels out that Wikipedia has a separate article for his bibliography.

He was handpicked by Robert Jordan’s wife to finish the Wheel of Time book series, and he was on the writing team for the Wheel of Time TV series.

So what were Sanderson’s “smart career choices” as a writer?

He didn’t write to market. This is going to be the most unpopular opinion of all, but hear me out, please. Sanderson tried it. Back before Elantris was published, after a lot of people told him his books weren’t being accepted because they were too long and didn’t have the popular format and tropes of the time, he tried writing to market. He’s said those were the worst novels of his writing career. So he stopped. He went back to writing what he loved. That love and passion kept him writing books that have resonated with fans for almost twenty years now. If we’re going to talk about why his fanbase loves his BOOKS so much, let's start with how much HE loves what he wrote and how much that love spills over in how he talks about his books.

He constantly pushes himself to improve. He knew from the beginning that he needed critique, and he got it. Since college, he’s been in critique groups and had alpha readers, and they keep pushing him to be better too. He himself says that some of his earlier books (yes, the published ones!) aren’t his best. He’s honest that he keeps wanting to do better and looking to improve.

When he made plans about publishing, he didn’t just think about it like a writer. He thought about it like an author. He figured out his writing pace and he tried to be consistent with that. You can talk for hours about how he finishes books and how that “makes him better than Patrick Rothfuss and George R. R. Martin,”*** but I don’t see many people talk about how Sanderson learned from them and others and FIGURED OUT what he had to do AHEAD OF TIME so he wasn’t doing that to his fans, intentionally or accidentally.

He also approached his published author career like a reader. He treated his fans like he would have wanted to be treated as a reader. He used social media to connect with them and to keep them posted. He was and still is actively involved in his fandom.

He’s given back to the community. He’s taught at university for years; he’s talked at conferences; he’s free with his advice on his writing podcast; he’s given fans advice for years at cons and book signings and through his website, and he always has a smile for his fans.

***I’m not going to discuss Rothfuss’s or Martin’s choices; I don’t know what’s going on in their lives, and I think there’s a difference between authors having a responsibility to finish a series and authors ‘owing’ fans the way their particular fans claim. This is only about Sanderson and his decisions.

THESE were his smart career choices. THESE are the reasons his books are so popular and why his Kickstarter got to twenty million in three days. Sure, finishing Wheel of Time helped get his name out there to some readers, but the majority of Sanderson’s fans don’t talk about Wheel of Time like they talk about his own books. Wheel of Time fans (some of them) talk about being grateful he finished the series, yes. But Sanderson fans talk more about Elantris, Mistborn, and the Stormlight Archive.

If we’re going to break down Sanderson’s success, we have to go back further than his marketing. We have to look at his foundation and be honest about why and how he is where he is.

If you write to market, three things sell your books:

your ads

your other marketing (but mostly your ads)

and how well you followed the recipe for that market

Whether your plot and characters are objectively well written doesn’t matter as much. (I'm not saying it doesn't matter at all.) Why? Because the recipe is what the ads sell. So if you’re good at following the recipe, readers will keep coming back after their first few from you. Not so much if you like to change recipes a lot or can’t follow one well. You might get other readers, but you won't get that particular market's readers.

I’m not dissing writing to market. If you DO mostly write to market, you won’t be able to take many lessons from Sanderson’s Kickstarter success (or his career in general) because Sanderson’s marketing isn’t what keeps his fiction selling. His writing is. His fan interaction is another huge part.

A note on consistency.

Sanderson is a prolific writer. He can sustain a publishing pace that many people can’t. I can’t, for sure. I would LOVE to be that prolific, but I’m not there, at least not right now. Being consistent doesn’t mean you have to publish every year or write every single day. It means finding what pace works for you and then being consistent with that. If that means publishing once a year, good for you. If it means once every three years, go for it.

Building a fanbase takes time. Sanderson has been publishing for almost twenty years, if you count how long the process took for Elantris. He’s been writing for twenty-five years. No one likes to hear that something they want right now takes time, but it’s the truth. Building a consistent fanbase takes time, and it does tend to take more time for indie authors than traditionally published ones.

I've worked with a lot of competitive write-to-market indie authors. I know exactly how unpopular this opinion is. But for all the authors wanting to really understand the writing craft and find the path that helps them build their own consistent career of putting out good stories, this post is for you. If you're asking “Why is Sanderson so popular that his Kickstarter reached twenty million in three days?” and wanting to know what you can learn from it . . .

This is why. And this is what you can learn.

Dev Blog 7/1/23

Hello my reader!

I'm here with a mini development blog for you all. So far I have added to the base game something like 40k more words. This is not including coding. I have also cleaned up some code errors that wouldn't let you get past the Deep, and negated a conversation with Hazel in the last chapter.

All I have left now is a clean up of some minor name codes and the editing of all the NSFW scenes. Then I can have a few people beta it and I can redo the UI of the game.

I would also like to say that the asexual route within the game is going to change a bit. The more I have learned about asexuality, the more it has come to my attention that there are a vast amount of ways that this can be represented. So, I have decided to address this by allowing an option to have a conversation about this with your RO before any NSFW scene. It can be that the MC doesn't like sex at all to the MC not opposed to it when it feels right. I know this is going to not satisfy some people but this is kind of what I feel comfortable writing. I feel like, at this point in my writing career, I just don't know how to approach it in the variation that asexuality actually is. That might change as I continue writing but for now, that's how I would like to keep it.

That being said, the sexuality code in general has also changed. You no longer have a code saying you are attracted to just men or just women. You can flirt with whoever you want without consequence. You can also deny anyone you want without consequence. Instead, I will just be coding in when you choose which RO you wish to explore the Night Market with. Polys will of course come after all of that. I felt this was also a fair representation. If you are someone who does not want to flirt with a certain gender, then don't chose the flirt options for it. It will then not open any of the flirtation scenes. Or, you know, tell Milo and Bella to just back off. :)

Now onto some personal stuff.

I am stressed. I mean, like really stressed. I thought I would have everything done by today and I am not done. Mainly, I feel bad for my Kickstarter backers. I have so much I owe them and everything is only in about the 70% done area. I am so sorry guys. I have been beating myself up over this for a while now when it became clear that this was far more work than I thought. It's crazy to me. I'm absent from Tumblr and Discord at this point and yet I have been busier with work than I've ever been.

I'm also terrified I'm just not doing enough to the base game. Things that I thought would fit great, ended up not fitting at all. Things that I thought would be an easy addition turned out to be way out of the realm of my capability. It's just all been a learning experience where I've felt like I'm letting you guys down.

And at the end of the day? I really just want to write Book 2.

I know I owe no one an explanation. I've just had this weird feeling I've had to battle the last few months where I am feeling like I have to choose between my family life and my work life. And I hate it. My husband took two weeks off work just so I could work like crazy and I am still not done which is bothering me. Which means weekends are sometimes spent not with my kids but instead working away again. And, because we are a split family, it isn't always like I can make up for this time mid week.

I'm not really looking for advice on this. I'm just kind of trying to be transparent. The stress is for sure getting to me and believe me, I am looking forward to this going up on Steam more than anyone at this point. And then I'm sure I'll spiral because I'll be certain somehow barely anyone will buy it. LOL! But hey, at least I just got two more cats to add to my life. They can purr away my stress that night.

That's everything guys. Thank you for being who you are and I promise you, I am taking care o myself. I'm just a stressed person by nature, I think.

hello! im not quite sure what advice i can give- in all honesty, id reckon i mostly got voters from

having a not insubstantial following on both my main and rain world sideblog from recent rain world posts, so i could funnel my newly active following into the rain world blog. i also specifically kickstarted my rain world sideblog by posting rw shipping content/requests, so my following there was exactly ready for this blog

a lot of very active popular members in the fandom do rw shipping and so further funneled attention towards me

which is like, what can i say except.. have followers? which sucks for advice!!! im not sure if there are any big names who specifically rave about regions that could help you boost engagement, either... your best bet for something niche might be to put enough flare into what you post to catch peoples eyes- if you just post "vote between industrial v chimney" or something people who have no strong opinion would just look it over- if you included propaganda images displaying what you feel best encapsulates the region + short blurbs on what can be found there, itll get people thinking and likely sharing to add on. (this is also why i encourage propaganda, it helps get more engagement from the posters following/if someone wants to argue- though again, as this is niche vs the popular generalized fandom, theres little opportunity to get like.. visual fanart propaganda). id also recommend if youre in any rain world groups advertising and trying to hype it up there? at the very least if you tag me in anything ill reblog it!

TLDR; i am very thankful and lucky that rw shipping is popular enough to get substantial voting. i am not sure exactly what advice i can port over from shipping to region appreciation.

I'll be gone, hopefully about a month, possibly more. TL;DR just the usual isht, frustrated & tired, going on a break.

Y'all probably noticed my activity dipping. You must be tired of hearing me talk about my retake (sorry about that :'/). Well preparing for a job hunt (and a catch) is why I've been gone. I wasted a lot of time with no work because I'm an idiot and I'll be trying to catch up.

That aside I've been feeling shitty about writing. I still think I'm not portraying my characters properly, like they're just not fleshed out enough. Not themselves enough. They don't work as they should outside of their stories. And despite this I tried to take on canon characters again (from F.ar C.ry) knowing my inspiration for that would die just as fast as that for all the other canons I've had (damn you ADHD!). And here I am. Just disappointing myself.

(Another aside, but I recently made a bunch of changes to characters that I don't know if I like and can reverse, and how. Not sure how I'm feeling about them. And I've said before that I feel like I'm not writing Fiann properly. Fiann was a morally grey character, and she doesn't easily do friends at all but I can't bring that point across. I can't write villains lol. I have no idea what to do with this character anymore; same goes for the Corbeaus' and Hella's stories. Hell not even short stories are as easy as they used to. I hate writing.)

Maybe turning these blogs into ask blogs like what people used to have back in the day might kickstart inspiration... Then again I don't know. It's likely my inspiration will come back but it's been returning and then leaving so quickly recently that I don't want to rely on it. Or maybe it's just a year of letting go of shit. I turned my back on friendships that weren't making me feel okay at all in the long run and right now writing is doing the same to me. I may not stop writing forever, I can't give that up. Or drawing. It doesn't feel like I've gotten any better at either over these (almost) 2 years. And don't get me started on how I abandoned Arvid. I'm sad about that.

Dendro Vision Theory

Okay so I saw someone who originally made a post a while ago (I can’t find the post or their blog so they might have deleted?) about how Dendro visions seem to be linked to someone’s ambition being related to stepping into a role that needed to be filled regardless of their limitations which they originally posted when Tighnari and Collei was released

I wanted to expand upon it with my own speculation especially now that we have even more Dendro characters at our disposal!

In context for Tighnari and Collei, it was Tighnari stepping up into a necessary role to correct misinformation despite the hesitance he initially felt about stepping out against a researcher but once he did it fulfilled a needed role that ended up kickstarting civil and engaging academic discussions between all of the scholars in the lecture hall etc.

And then Collei stepping into the role of a Forest Watcher, taking action to save a missing girl because she knew Tighnari wouldn’t be back in time and if weather conditions in the forest got worse the little girl could die despite her own physical limitations

With that stepping into a necessary role, potentially connecting to Nahida in the way that she was not allowed to step up into her proper role as an archon due to the view of her wisdom vs her allogenes getting their visions by stepping into a necessary role via trusting in their own wisdom and ambitions

Now that was the conclusion they originally came to when just Collei and Tighnari were out so I wanted to talk about that theory by seeing how it holds up now that we have more vision stories to read!!

Okay so, Alhaitham’s is e x t r e m e l y vague and is a bit hard to deduce but I think the beginning in which we are shown a portion of a book Alhaitham had been reading relates to one of the Akademiya’s six cardinal sins: “Investigating the origin of words.”

While some of these cardinal seems seem understandable such as the tampering of life and death being a sin, to think Etymology of all things would be a sin on the same level as interfering with the natural cycle of life and mortality, in a place flourishing with scholars of all kinds, is kind of odd when you think about it. The languages are very important as emphasized by the book he read in his vision story and the origin of language arguably is especially so given what it can tell people about the evolution of a place’s history and culture.

So if we were to focus on that aspect, on Alhaitham’s pursuit of that knowledge in regards to language, I think it can be argued he is, in his own way, stepping into a necessary role. Now, unlike with Collei and maybe Tighnari, he’s not actively doing it for anyone’s benefit which is completely fine. He is doing it in pursuit of what knowledge intrigues and interests him, and I think this is where we see the “trusting in his wisdom” aspect come into play as he goes after this knowledge and information despite the Akademiya’s rules regarding cardinal sins. It’s less a split second decision and going with his gut, and more the other traits that characterize wisdom according to the dictionary.

Wisdom is defined generally defined by three main factors whether all together or separately: Good Judgement , Experience, and Knowledge. These factors can all work together in different duos or a trio and they can work on their own and I think some of these aspects do such in Alhaitham’s vs Tighnari’s vs Collei’s. Collei’s characterized by good judgement, an understanding or insight not necessarily based on exact experience or knowledge but good sense. Tighnari’s coming from a place of experience in terms of the misinformation with his specialized field at the very least if not including the other factors too. And lastly Alhaitham’s, which again makes it hard to perfectly pinpoint given its vagueness, but his knowledge of how to pursuit this subject and confidence in such seems to allow him to do as much with ease. Very likely good sense and understanding of what he has to do to pursue it playing into this.

I want to go back to the whole “necessary role” thing. While it isn’t as obvious as Tighnari’s or especially Collei’s, I think Alhaitham’s decision to go after this information regardless of the Akademiya’s rules not for other’s sake still puts him into a similar role. The world of Teyvat needs to be questioned, despite the consequences for those who do it, in order to break away from its cycles of histories that just keep repeating. It needs people who don’t explicitly listen to the rules, who pursue certain knowledge out of genuine desire for that subject. While certain cardinal sins like the tampering of evolution or life and death stands to make sense, the questioning of Teyvat’s history even through the origin of languages, whether modern or ancient, is something necessary.

I know it probably sounds confusing and again, This!! Is my speculation and the conclusion I’ve come to because honestly, a lot of Alhaitham’s vision story really is super vague so it can be so hard to read between the lines and discern what we’re meant to grasp from it. So if you disagree with my interpretation, I 100% understand 😭 I didn’t explain it the best like I wish I could have and we’re working with some pretty open to interpretation stuff here.

Struggling to try and grasp what Yao Yao could have done to gain her vision honestly as her vision story makes it really hard to understand what she did to get it. Something that is evident from it is that it likely wasn’t after some big huge event, wasn’t something that happened as a result of something overtly obvious to her. Something to note though is Yao Yao’s personality and her basic story in general as a disciple of Madame Ping.

Yao Yao is characterized by the fact that she is very generous and sincere and is used to taking care of those around her. Even jokingly referred to as like a “little adult” in things promoting her release and in game due to her sense of responsibility and desire to help others as the disciple of Madame Ping. In fact, such a thing is specifically mentioned in her vision story.

“As a disciple of her master, she would follow her example and protect the people.” Due to this and the theory of why certain people receive dendro visions, it leads me to believe that Yao Yao got her vision from one of the many, many instances of helping people in need. It was a necessary role she had to step into, she stepped into that role with trust in the wisdom she had gained from her master, Madame Ping, and given that it’s something she’s already so accustomed to, it would make sense why she didn’t initially notice or at the very least, can’t explicitly attribute gaining a vision to one event. Because it’s something she often does, a duty that she has accepted as a disciple of the adepti.

Or at least, that is my interpretation based upon what I have seen in game from her character and her character stories!

I wanna once again say, that I am building off of someone else’s theory originally with my own speculation even though I can’t find the original post now, but yeah! I hope this made even the slightest bit of sense because it feels like one huge tangent and I’m so sorry 😭

Good morning/evening! I'm thr same anon who wrote that ridicuously long ask about Melkor's child. Well, I got another idea about it. At this point I think I should just write it out😅. But I'm quite shy about posting. So here I am again with another ridiculously long ask.

So, we don't know when Reader awakens first, right? What if they awakened sometime after Maedhros' cspture? Reader is still trying to wrap their head around what is going on and pretty much everyone in Angband treats them like they would a child- which makes sense because Reader is a goddamn highschooler who got pulled from math. When Reader is wandering through dungeons they come across Maedhros who was being tortured. They naivrly talk to him about something that was very important and was supposed to be confidental. Morgoth hears about this and he is furious. He punishes Reader very harshly and makes sure he can always see their acrions no matter where Reader is. This evebt traumatizes Reader and they understand the severity of their situation.

Morgoth can see their thoughts and actions but the memories of their previous life on Earth remain hidden from him as even though he is the creator of Reader's new body, he has no idea just what Reader's soul is for the soul comes from a realm unknown to even the Valar. Also, no one aside from Morgoth and Sauron know that the soul is summoned not created. This can have interesting effects on how the Valar see them and act against them in the future.

As for the Fall of Gondolin, I like to think that Reader uses their own army instead of Balrogs and Dragons like in the canon timeline. So, less deaths here. Also, dealing with a captured Glorfindel would prove to be a very difficult task as his spirit cannot be broken easily. I wonder how many of the twelve lords fell in the battle though? I think Reader would turb those lords to zombie soldiers as well.

I have a feeling Meaglin would betray Reader as he would not get Idril as he promised for Reader deliberately let Tuor and Idril escape with Earendil in hopes of kickstarting the War of Wrath. I don't know how would Reader make sure Morgoth doesn't know about it but I think he would be angry regardless whether he knew about it or not. Because this is Morgoth. He wouldn't want any survivors.

I am really curious about your thoughta on this one. What do you think? Could Reader succeed in deceiving Morgoth or would they have to suffer consuquenses? Where would Maeglin's loyalties lie? How would the Gondolindrim start warming up to Reader?

My habit of writing long sentences are getring out of hand. I hope I am not being a nuisance with my long asks. You don't nedd to answer if it troubles you. I wish you have nice day/night.

I like the start. Letting reader start from the beginning. I can imagine reader to be confused and little disoriented by things, but I think Melkor would be surprisingly gentle with reader since they are technically his first successful creation (And he didn't expect the whole summoning to work). And while reader wanders around Angband, trying to figure things out and then end up finding Maedhros. Since reader is a child from in and out, they would definitely accidentally say something they weren't supposed to. But I don't think Melkor would severely punish them at first, especially if reader quickly says it was a thing they just heard, but perhaps make reader watch as he tortured Maedhros. (That would be pretty traumatizing too).

I can see Melkor keeping a careful eye on reader and make sure they would not misbehave under his eye. And perhaps then the cruelty kicks in and he puts an enchantment on reader, where he can feel their thoughts and see their actions. Reader would have to learn how to not feel anything and take strategic actions to keep him away and satisfied. Not definitely the best father.

How about reader took Gondolin when Maeglin was brought to the Angband? Reader decided to beat him and their father first and took Gondoling before Maeglin could be promised anything, purposely letting Idril and Tuor escape with their people and taking most of the lords captive with their magic. And since reader claimed Gondolin first, Melkor wouldn't have much choice but to give his child what they have rightfully claimed. Thus begins reader's rule over Gondolin.

Gaining Glorfindel's trust would be a challenge, but I can see reader attempting to gain his help to get rid of their father's enchantment since they can't do it themselves without getting exposed. Dealing with Maeglin would most likely be a pain in the ass as he's most likely now a spy working for their father and the scheming would begin. I think the Gondolindrim wouldn't take reader too badly when the times pass since they aren't as bad as their father.

(Anyway. I hope you liked this answer. You definitely made my imagination run. and if you do write this, do tag me. I would read it 😉)

hi!

i haven’t done this in a LOOOONG time. i used to write on here under the url imaginesxyou when i was like 13, but i miss writing and shipping and general tumblr shitposting so bad. i figured i’d do a little introduction to let you guys get to know me, and i’ve put my fandom list here too so you guys know what stuff i might write for!!

so i’m jackie. i’m 20 years old and based in the uk. i’m queer and genderfluid (any pronouns) so i’m happy to write any lgbtq+ requests you guys have. i’m an apprentice travel agent at the moment, and a lot of my time is eaten up by work. however i’ll try and pop on here and answer some of your requests when i can!! my hobbies generally include writing, watching tv and movies, and singing! i sing at my local open mic night and i really love it. i listen to all kinds of music, but i perform strictly 60’s music at the moment. i’m hoping to branch out into 70s and 80s stuff too when i have time. i’m also autistic and my hyperfixations can change quite often, so i’ll likely close some fandoms on my list depending on what i’m fixated on at the time. I’ll also probably add stuff on too as time goes on!

i’ll be writing little drabbles and self inserts (i’m a sucker for all that y/n shit), but also ships! this was a big thing that i did back in the day and the people seemed to love it. you guys probably don’t need it but here’s a quick rundown on how to request!

ok hi as already stated on @jiahn's blog, i'm laur and i had the bright idea to bring in two muses right away! :) sora deserves an intro post of her own, so i'll keep this part brief and get right into more about sora under the cut!

long story short about sora: her sister was signed as a trainee and sora never forgave her for it /hj

in all seriousness, i took a little inspiration from irl jungsis's background and had the younger daughter scouted, but the older daughter was signed in her place due to the parents' wishes. that just burned sora alive; she's so competitive she made it her life's goal to "reclaim" what should have been hers in the first place (but don't get me wrong, she loves her sister to death and was never mad at her)

i didn't do this on purpose but i ended up with two dancer muses... she became obsessed with learning to dance and ended up being quite good at it... so good, in fact, that she was among the fifty-ish teenagers chosen out of thousands of applications to participating in dancing high. she was ultimately eliminated from the program before in episode 6, though it did help to kickstart her career as a professional dancer. since then she worked as a backup dancer for idol groups and soloists.

in 2019 she was signed as an idol trainee to culture creative. in 2020 she appeared in a deep blue music video and in 2021 she'd appear as a dancer in a stray music video here or there (perhaps the company trying to tease an upcoming girl group? 👀). in 2022 she finally made her idol debut with future/femme and honestly? she never really felt prepared to be in a creative, self-produced group.

while she's participated in choreography for her group, she really doesn't feel like she contributes as much to the team as the other members. she didn't think of herself as a particularly strong choreographer in the beginning (despite everyone telling her otherwise) and her confidence slowly build over the last year. just recently, she released a solo music video and song. she wants to explore her creativity in solo work so she can produce better work for future/femme, which remains her top priority. she still very much feels like a work in progress and is incredibly greedy to learn more, be better, and take every opportunity that comes her way!

so plot-wise, i again didn't come up with much in the way of specifics or particulars... but i was also more conscious to try to make her background as plottable as possible. maybe she worked as your muse's backup dancer or appeared in their music video? for non-idol/musician muses, she's so friendly and outgoing that if you've even crossed paths with her once she'd want to be your best friend. or maybe that's annoying to your muse. old classmates, other dancers she wants to learn from or collab with, or even older celebrities that she herself is a fan of!

it's all about your mindset: my shifting journey (in every detail possible)

Hi, Hello, to all my beautiful spiritual people out there! My name is Evie and today I will share my shifting journey with you. Actually this Tumblr blog was created only to connect with people on this topic. So how did it all start for me?

In 2020 when the whole world was shutdown I basically found shifting like nearly everyone else: TikTok. I was scrolling through my for you page and came across a bunch of people who claim to have experienced the Hogwarts-life. I was intrigued and confused at the same time. Obviously I was curious, but my first reaction, was the same as everybody's else: No way on earth this is possible. The 3D is the only reality and all of them must be unable to separate lucid dreaming from real life. I know why this came up on my fyp: I am very invested in astrology and if you are interested in that area you probably believe in manifesting and shifting, too. I decided to give it a try. It was a very half-assed try tho. I laid flat on my back on my parents bed and did the raven method. It didn't work. Obviously. I didn't understand what shifting is plus I was doubting it heavily. After that I didn't try to shift for a very very long time again.

Now I might not have tried to shift anymore, but I got deeper into the topic of manifesting and the law of attraction. As many people, I was very suspicious of it at first. How the hell can you have everything you want, just by wishing for it? I told my friend about it, and we decided to try it. She had a crush on a girl back then and I was crushing on a guy, so we both manifested a certain Text-message from them. Funny thing is: it wasn't working for me. He never texted me, BUT MY FRIENDS CRUSH ON THE OTHER HAND texted her exactly what she had manifested with the 3-6-9-Method. Why did it work for her and not me? My friend has adhd and she was able to do the "letting go"-part way better than me, who constantly thought about it and sat by the phone impatiently, waiting for him to finally text me. I didn't really believe in manifesting either at that time and I made it way harder than it actually is.

Fast forward a couple of months: August 2020. I was on vacation and my crush on this guy didn't budge. I was still utterly obsessed with him, but I had all sorts of feelings of worry: Should I keep chasing him? What if he isn't worth it? So what did I do? I manifested a sign. Fuck it. I heard you could do that, so why I wouldn't I? I laid in my bed and I prayed to the universe: "Please universe, if he is the one for me, give me a sign!". I went to sleep after, and the next morning I nearly forgot, that I had manifested a sign the night before. NOW I know, that if you want to manifest a sign, you should be as specific as possible. Anyway, my parents and I went to go sightseeing in this foreign city we were in, and I couldn't believe it. We went to get ice-cream and there were two streets you could go down: left and right. My intuition told me to go left, so I told my parents hey lets go this way! I turn the corner and THERE. A huge, and I mean huge, sign that says: *my crushes name*'s Photo-shop. I took a picture in disbelief. This was THE incident, that made me believe in manifesting, because a year later I was actually dating him. I manifested my entire relationship with him, because I realized how real manifestation was.

What do I want so say with this experience? This was the incident that really kickstarted my belief in manifestation. I told myself: Look how easily this comes to me! I noticed that many times, when friends would mention certain things or names in my presence suddenly we would see them. I remember thinking that I haven't seen my friends mom for a long time and 10 minutes later she is in my bus and sitting down next to me, starting a conversation. I remember thinking about one of my old colleagues from my internship 2 years ago, and that I absolutely hated that woman. Not even an hour later I see this woman across the street from me. Mind you, I never seen her in that specific place before, and never again after that incident. My friends and I started calling me the magnet, because you'd only have to think about something or mention something in my presence and suddenly I would accidentally manifest it into reality. I considered myself a master manifestor. I passed all my Finals even tho I barely studied for them. I got my dream job, without really trying hard for it. I got my crush with only a simple thought. I never missed a bus ever again, because I simply tell myself: Oh the universe loves me, the busses always arrive exactly when I arrive. And they did. They fucking still do. I am even fully convinced that I accidentally manifested the death of my friends dog. Because her dog hated everyone and everything. It was one of those annoying Chihuahuas. Every time it barked at me or tried to bite me I told him to go die. And guess what he did 4 days later... Listen I am not proud of this, I am really sorry actually, but because of incidents like that I fully believe in my power.

So now it's 2022. My friend casually asks me wether or not I have ever heard about shifting. I told her that I even tried it once, but never really got into it after that. She was shook that I, the magnet, the master Manifestor, didn't shift left and right. She basically brought me back to the community of shifting, and got me interested in it again. I tried for a while. I tried some methods, but after a couple of weeks or so I gave up. I decided I didn't want it hard enough and went about my life.

In April 2022 I came across a trio of YouTubers. The Sturniolo's (I am sure basically everyone knows them at this point). I started watching their car-videos and I remember thinking: "Damn it would be so fucking fun to do this with them." I just wanted to be their friend and scream and yell in Matts Car with them. Eventually my wish, my desire to do that, grew so much, I decided to give shifting an honest try. Its May now and let me tell you I have tried everything there is to try. Every Method imaginable, Every Guided Meditation, Drank Water 'til I nearly peed myself, scripted 5 different times, and I woke up every day disappointed, that I was still in my CR room not smelling oranges and hearing rain drops. I was on reddit, I was on amino and Shiftok (which is arguably the worst place for information on shfting). Hell I was even on Pinterest. I was so goddamn frustrated. Everyone talks about how easy it is, but why am I here struggling so hard?

Suddenly I saw angel numbers. And I don‘t mean the usuals like 111, 333 etc. I was seeing to specific numbers EVERYWHERE. 37 and 17. I decided the universe is talking to me. I couldn't give up. Shifting is real, I could feel it in my heart. I knew I must be doing something wrong and I just couldn't figure out what it was.

I had tried every platform for help, and I felt lost. Until I remembered that Tumblr existed. And holy hell. This flipped everything for me. EVERYTHING. I started re-blogging all the posts that gave me insight on what I was doing wrong. ITS ALL ABOUT THE MINDSET.

and goddamn it is. I read through all those posts and it made so much sense. My Methods never worked, because deep inside I knew that it's not the methods that would make me shift. I realized that I would never shift if I made it so hard to do. If you treat it like an impossible task, if you come from a place of desperation and frustration you won't shift. You EXPECT it to be hard, which is why it IS hard. I remembered my manifestation journey. How it never worked because I treated manifestation as the hardest and most magical thing ever. And how I can now manifest anything I could ever ask for because I treat it like the easiest thing ever, and how I see myself as the master manifestor and manifest knowing I can manifest. I never doubt myself anymore. I realized that you have to greet shifting from the same place.

So Evie, does that mean you yelled with Nick about birds taking over the world, yet? No, and I know exactly why. 10 Minutes ago I was going through everything I had reblogged and tried to write myself a little summary, because up until now I had really struggled with my mindset (I'm such a virgo). I overcomplicated everything for myself. "What am I supposed to say in my mind again so that it'll start working?" or "Wait how am I supposed to treat it again? Like it already happened? Or Like it is coming?" I got caught up in all of it, as if there was a specific recipe to follow. I was taking my notes when I saw my phone light up. My coworker had asked me previously if I could cover her shift from 2pm-8pm instead of my own which was 12pm-6pm. I agreed to, but in my head I was secretly wishing to cover my own instead because I didn't want to work the closing shift. I glanced over at my phone and read, that she texted me, that I would cover my own shift tomorrow instead of hers. I read the message and I stopped taking notes. Wasn't it obvious? I am the master manifestor. I am the magnet. I only have to think of my wishes for them to come true. I know it was the universe who stopped me from taking those notes, by showing me that all you have to do is wanting it. INTENTION.

You truly just need to desire something. Your desires are yours they are promised. When would I finally understand? There is no correct sentence to say in your head every five minutes in order to shift. I have this entire history of me figuring out how easy manifesting is. Dude, I got Asthma, it is literally easier than taking a breath but here I was obsessing over methods and ways to think even though they were all explaining me what I was doing all along since 2020: Manifesting by just simply wanting to manifest.

They were all so right when they said, that there is no definite tipp that will finally make you shift. There is no recipe, no formula. Don‘t stress about shifting. I know I will shift. Because I want to. Don‘t get too caught up in what affirmation to use, or what law to use or how long it's taking or ANYTHING. Your desires are promised. That's all you need to know. All I have ever wanted manifested into my reality, without ever stressing over it, because I believed in my power, and made it easy. It is literally just as hard or just as easy as you make it to be. it's never been any different.

You will shift. Because you want to. And as long as you believe that THAT is all it takes, then that's the truth you are living.

If I can kill my friends dog by telling it to die, then you can shift. Seriously. Stop worrying. Say you will and believe it. Periodt. That's your mindset now.
