Wtf is happening over on ofmd Twitter??
I dont tag in much so last i was aware was the ‘stede bonnet is a racist and u are too’ fluff. And this is of course my take. I only peak in anymore someone more involved might be able to explain better.
Theres some lovely ppl over there, gorgeous art and nsfw art too. But starting lets say may-ish a group of mostly young fans (judging by their profiles most were under 22) started saying most fans were racist for liking Stede Bonnet or Izzy and basically white people and straight ppl shouldnt be allowed to watch or be fans. If u like Con or Izzy (yup both) you were basically a klan member cuz clearly he thinks Ed is his slave etc. it goes on.
Look im white and cishet so im basically 3% of most of the fandom. But i found this particularly interesting cuz a lot of these people crossed over with Wwdits and no one wanted to talk about Kayvan Novak doing repeated blackface starting in 2015. They also didnt want to acknowledge Taika said some real terfy shit when he was my age in 2014 (mustve been an asshole era). Neither man has apologized (or mark proksch) and Kayvan doubled down on it last year.
So look i absolutely can not say how poc are allowed to feel. I just find it very odd they want to lynch Rhys and Con but are fine with Kayvan especially. Blackface to me seems like an ultimate sin.
So moving along… by the C2e2 they wanted to cancel Con for playing Izzy and slammed anyone who fangirled over him. A few weeks later Con made an insensitive comment about a tory having a coke nose, comparing it to a latine country. For some reason that didnt blow up til August. He did apologize and deleted or paused his twitter (he claimed before it blew up he would for filming and this coincided with filming beginning so hard to say). Most of them felt apologizing was no good and this was proof he was truly a racist playing a racist character.
(Fyi my personal belief is ppl should take responsibility, sincerely apologize, and never do x again).
Rhys’ wife is a royalist and when the Queen died they went after her and Rhys for saying Elizabeth’s death was sad. Wife doubled down. Ppl said proof shes racist and he should divorce her (i mean…i didnt love it but they really went after them. Im no royalist and think the queen was a colonizer.)
So then a few weeks ago Rhys Darby briefly replied to a friend that he felt playing Stede Bonnet was like reliving a past life. It was like 2 sentences. Ppl first thought it was cute, then this mob came to feast. They attacked any fan who liked it and attacked rhys so much he declared this is why he doesnt tweet much.
I personally took the tweet to mean he felt like he was reliving a life, not necessarily Stede Bonnet the real dude. But i mean shit if ur playing (or claiming) a rich white man pre 1860 the dude was likely a slave owner. Not a justification but liking a fictional character doesnt mean u think the fictional character is the real dude. I didnt know Stede Bonnet existed before ofmd. Real dude was a cunty slave owner who was prbly mentally ill and an asshole to his crew. I dont conflate Rhys’ bird of paradise bitchy queen with that dude. In my world Stede Bonnet is a fictional character. Fuck the real guy.
Soooo ive ranted nice and long here (sorry i have feelings). But the summary is theres a young mob of ofmd fans on twitter who want to prove they are activists by being assholes to real ppl who arent doing anything worth calling out…while also not calling out actors who really have done shit. Basically baby bullies. And oddly many of them are white so its even weirder. But thats that. I dont recommend bothering with it.

hey kin! just wanted to say how ya been? Listen dude, I've been a fan since day one. Remember when you first started your YouTube channel and had all those cringy videos? yeah i was there. but now i look at you and all you've posted and it kinda makes me sad. you know that old tiktok sound where its like I miss the old Kanye, straight from the Go, Kanye Chop up the soul Kanye, set on his goals Kanye. I hate the new Kanye, the bad mood Kanye The always rude Kayne, spaz in the news Kanye I miss the sweet Kanye" thats kinda how i feel about you. i miss the actually funny Kindred. the Quirky kindred. the cringy kindred. i don't hate any side of you, i'm just slightly saddened by the new kindred. the one who takes kink tests for his followers. the one who is over sexualized and feeds off of that. You made it to be verified almost anywhere is because of fans like me, but ignores those smaller than him. I noticed you don't stream with any small time Vtubers. Ever heard of Natsumi? I like her. Fun gamer, her chats are always interesting. I started watching her because seeing you feed to people's addiction is like hearing your parents have sex in the room down the hall. It's weird. (sorry to put that image in your head dude) I just wanted to say, you are an amazing person but please, don't forget about us little people dude.
Hope you and Nailah enjoy y'all day!
You say you’ve been a fan since they one, but ever since month 3 of starting my channel I’ve been a NSFW voice actor, I’ve always done a bit of everything, wholesome scripts, spicy scripts, and I even streamed as well back then too on YouTube.
Those streams are unlisted but I still have them, faceless, bad mic, even worse internet with 4 mbps speed. Bad back then I’d play wacky games I figured ppl would like, talked openly about my sexuality and did a bit of fanservice while vocally being against parasocial behavior
I do have better equipment, I’ve rebranded as a vtuber so I could focus more on whatever variety of content I could make that my heart calls for, my best recent streams were “fixing vtubers” and cooking streams (which I’ve always loved). But at the end of the day, my content has always been the same, me a mic, and entertaining people as I’ve always have
Perhaps you don’t watch the streams so you don’t constantly hear me say how i always say hi for everyone that joins the chat so I can feel like people feel welcomed and like it’s a conversation. I don’t think you hate me (since you mentioned I’m just saying) I think you’re just nostalgic. You have fond memories of these days where after a bad day an asmr video could comfort you.
While I love my stories, I always felt people never connected to ME, not the smooth talker characters I play, the guy with an awkward laugh, dumb and with an even dumber sense of humor. I still do my audio stories, I love voice acting, but I also love streaming and what I do now as a vtuber
The old videos will always be there, at least until YouTube is up, but I like the new ones, my new channel and others such as tiktok and twitch just as much.
I might not have enough time on my hands to talk in DMs like I used to, especially coordinating editors, artists, contracts, since I’m not a corpo vtubers, everything I do is a one man operation mostly. But I still reply when ppl tag me on discord, still talk to all those that follow and support me, especially on a daily basis streams.
If you only focus on old memories you miss the chance to make new ones. And we’ve been having a lot of fun, cooking, chatting, singing, or just doing dumb stuff together

The Last Straw
Combat! Fan Fiction
by
Mary Wright "Eagle Lady"
The cheerful chirping of birds outside the window did nothing to lighten Hanley's mood as he slammed down the phone. There were certainly times that he wished he was still a sergeant instead of an officer. Some orders were much easier to get than to give, and this was definitely one of them. There was a light knock on the door even as it opened, the creaking hinges grating on Hanley's already strained nerves.
Saunders entered with his Thomson slung over his shoulder, his usual swagger missing. He looked exhausted; his uniform was torn and filthy, and carried recent blood stains. Hanley heaved a silent sigh. This wasn't going to be easy on either of them.
"You wounded?" He asked.
Saunders looked startled, then glanced down at the blood on his jacket.
"No, sir." He replied. "It isn't mine. Anderson got it. So did Crane. Caje, Littlejohn and Billy are wounded. Kirby's just beat. So am I. We ran into a patrol where they shouldn't have been."
Hanley studied the man in front of him, idly wondering if he might actually hit him when he heard what Hanley had to say. Better to get it over with, he decided.
"You have to go back out, Saunders."
"What?" Saunders stared at him in disbelief.
"I said..."
"Lieutenant," Saunders interrupted, something he rarely did. "I just brought my men back from an extended patrol. I lost two men, and have three wounded."
"I realize that, Sergeant." Hanley snapped. "HQ just called. They're ordering a patrol out to identify the Kraut companies to the south and to bring back a prisoner."
"Don't they know we're barely at half-strength?" Saunders demanded angrily.
"That isn't the point, Saunders. We have our orders. You will take a patrol out, identify the Kraut units, and obtain a prisoner."
"Take out a patrol? With who? I've got nobody left!"
Ignoring Saunders' lapse of military protocol, Hanley tapped his pencil on the rickety table in front of him. His sergeant stared at him, his blue eyes like chips of ice.
"There are two replacements on their way. As soon as they arrive, we leave."
"We?" Saunders' eyes narrowed.
"We, Sergeant. I'm going with you."
"Can't you tell HQ that we don't have the manpower for a patrol?"
"No, Sergeant, I can't. You have your orders. Get your men ready."
"Lieutenant..."
"That's all, Sergeant." Hanley snapped, his patience exhausted.
"Yes, sir." Saunders turned on his heel and strode out, his boot heels ringing on the floor.
Hanley watched the door slam behind him, mildly surprised that it didn't fall off, then scrubbed his hands down his face.
^^^
Kirby looked up from cleaning the BAR as Saunders stalked into the remains of the shop. The sergeant's face was lined with fatigue, and dark with anger.
"What's up, Sarge?" He ventured.
"We're going back out."
"We're what? We just got back in, Sarge! 'Sides, there's nobody left to go out but you and me."
"Knock it off, Kirby." He growled, jerking the Thompson off his shoulder.
"But, Sarge..."
"I said knock it off." Saunders glared at him. "We're going out to identify the Kraut outfits to the south and to grab a prisoner."
"Just the two of us?" Kirby tried to keep the anger out of his voice.
"We've got two replacements coming in and Hanley's going with us."
Wisely, Kirby kept his mouth shut and went back to cleaning his rifle. Saunders flung his helmet onto a nearby table and lit a cigarette which he handed to Kirby, then lit another for himself.
"Thanks." Kirby nodded.
"What about Caje, Littlejohn, and Billy?"
"They're at the aid station. The Doctor says they'll be okay in a couple days."
"Where's Doc?"
"Refilling his bag. Uh, Sarge?"
"Yeah?" Saunders ran a hand through his hair, leaving it standing on end.
"I think the replacements just arrived."
Turning, Saunders looked at the two men standing just inside the door and sighed. Neither looked like they should be out of high school yet. It was a sure bet neither had seen any action. As he stared at the two men, he felt his heart sink. The shorter man on the left was the younger brother of his friend Tommy from back home.
"Sergeant Saunders?" The one on the right questioned.
"Yeah, that's me."
"We're the replacements from St. Mere. I'm Tate. Just Tate."
"Just Tate?" Saunders glowered at him.
"Just is my first name, Sergeant."
"Private Sam Hill." The shorter man said.
"Sam Hill?" Kirby grinned.
"Yeah. As in Where in sam hill." Hill grinned back, then sobered as his gaze returned to Saunders. "Tommy was killed three weeks ago."
Saunders' face showed no change in expression, but Kirby could tell the news hit him hard. Walking to the window, Saunders threw down his cigarette and promptly lit another.
"Either of you seen any action?" Saunders asked without turning.
"No." Both shook their heads.
"Great." Saunders sighed again. "Kirby, take care of 'em. I gotta go see Hanley."
"Sure, Sarge." Kirby laid the rifle aside and got to his feet as the sergeant strode past the new men and out of the shop.
^^^
"Lieutenant, the replacements are here." Saunders said without preamble. "They're kids. Just kids. I'll be surprised if they know which end of the gun is which."
"Then you'd better teach them, Sergeant. We leave in one hour."
"Isn't there any other way, Lieutenant?" Saunders leaned on his knuckles on the edge of the flimsy table, his angry gaze on the officer. "We're beat."
"I know that, Saunders. Everyone is short-handed these days. We have to make do with what we have." He replied mildly.
"Lieutenant, we can't keep going!" Saunders straightened a back aching from carrying a wounded soldier back home.
"We don't have a choice, Sergeant."
"Can't we trade the replacements to another squad for experienced men?" Saunders' almost pleading tone had Hanley staring at him in surprise.
"Why? You've taken green men out before."
"Not on a mission like this." He shook his head.
"No trade, Sergeant. We go with what we have."
"But, Lieutenant..." Saunders started to say.
Resenting the pressure his friend was putting on him, Hanley rose to his feet, towering over the sergeant. He didn't want to send the men back out anymore than they wanted to go, but he had no choice. HQ had made it clear what they wanted and when.
"Sergeant Saunders." His usually mild tone had turned hard. "You have your orders. You will have your squad, including the replacements, ready to leave in one hour. Is that clear?"
"Yes, sir."
Hanley caught a surprising flash of anguish in the sergeant's eyes before he turned away and headed for the door.
"And don't slam the door!" Hanley called after him.
^^^
When Hanley stepped outside an hour later, he found Saunders, Kirby, Doc and two strangers waiting for him.
"Lieutenant Hanley, Privates Tate and Hill." Saunders' said woodenly.
"Glad to have you, men." Hanley nodded.
"Kirby, you've got the point." Saunders usurped the officer's authority, drawing surprised looks from both Kirby and Doc.
At Hanley's nod, Kirby settled the BAR more comfortably and headed out, Hill and Tate behind him, followed by Doc. Hanley glared at Saunders as they followed.
"I don't know what your problem is, Sergeant, but you'd better get over it fast. You got that?"
"Yeah, I got it. Sir."
Snapping his Thompson off of his shoulder, the sergeant moved on ahead, leaving Hanley staring after him. Something other than tiredness was eating at the man, but he didn't have a clue what it was. In the sergeant's present mood, Hanley figured he wasn't likely to find out what it was any time soon. Cursing under his breath, the officer fell in behind the men.
^^^
Saunders kept his gaze on Doc's back, vainly trying to keep his thoughts from turning to home and Tommy. They'd gone through school together, played together, argued with each other, vied for the same girl with each other, and enlisted on the same day. Tommy had joined the Army Air Forces with visions of becoming an Ace, with women flocking around him. Now, the always optimistic Tommy Hill was gone and his younger brother was likely to join him before the day was over.
At least this time it wasn't his responsibility. The lieutenant was in charge this time; it was on his back. He had to admit that he deserved the reprimand from the lieutenant. His mind had been wandering, and he had totally forgotten that Hanley was going along.
Lord, he was tired. He wanted to lay down somewhere and sleep for a week. A sudden sneeze from Doc startled him back to the present and he lifted his head to look around, unaware how much that one action relieved the officer behind him.
He was surprised to see Kirby in the lead, having expected to see Caje. He must be more tired than he realized to have forgotten that he himself had sent Kirby to the point. Hill and Tate were spaced about ten feet apart in a single file behind Kirby, Doc about ten feet behind them. Noticing that he was practically treading on Doc's heels, he slowed down and backed off.
Hanley moved past him and on up towards the front of the column. Using hand signals, he indicated a ten-minute rest stop. Gratefully sinking to the ground, Saunders took a swig from his canteen and found his mind wandering again. He remember when he and Tommy were trying to build a clubhouse and Sam kept getting in the way till they finally sent him home in tears of resentment. Tommy was calling to him and he wondered why he was using his last name instead of his first.
Squatting down, Hanley spread his map out on a convenient log, and motioned for the men to gather around. Kirby, Tate, Hill, and Doc crowded in close. Saunders remained where he was, gazing into the distance. Doc and Kirby exchanged worried looks when Hanley called him and got no response. Stifling the urge to throw something at the sergeant, Hanley settled for calling him again. What was wrong with him today?
"Saunders!" It wasn't Tommy calling him, it was Hanley.
"Sir?" He dragged himself back to the present.
"I know you're tired, but if you wouldn't mind joining us?"
Staggering to his feet, he knew he should resent the lieutenant talking to him like that in front of his men, but right now he was just too tired to care. Dropping to one knee beside the officer, he tried to concentrate as Hanley outlined his plans.
^^^
"We're right here." Hanley was saying. "We'll head south along here and then work our way east toward this village. It's marked as being abandoned, but we'll have to check it out anyway. If we're lucky, we'll get the information we came for and grab a prisoner soon. Kirby, you and Hill pair off. Saunders, you take Tate. I'll take the point, Saunders, you and Tate bring up the rear. Any questions?"
After receiving negative head shakes, Hanley folded the map and stuck it back inside his jacket. He waited while Kirby, Doc, and Saunders struggled to their feet, then headed out, glancing behind him as he did so. Kirby and Hill were walking ten feet behind him, three feet apart. Doc followed, with Saunders and Tate lagging behind him another ten feet. Tate was alert, looking around with a combination of interest and apprehension while Saunders appeared lost in thought. Hanley was beginning to really worry about the man. There was definitely something bothering him. The lieutenant hesitated a moment, then motioned the men to keep going while he stepped aside and waited for the sergeant to catch up.
"Go on, Tate. We'll catch up in a minute."
"Yes, sir." With a curious glance at his two superiors, he moved on to join the others who had slowed their pace.
"Saunders." Hanley said quietly.
"Yes, sir?"
"Something on your mind?"
"No, sir."
"Well, Sergeant, you'd better get something on your mind and I mean fast. Get yourself together. This is no place to daydream and you know it. Straighten up and pay attention to the mission. When we get home you can daydream all you want, but right now I want your undivided attention. Do I make myself clear?"
Saunders stared at him, wondering how he managed to yell in a whisper. At least it sounded like Hanley was yelling at him.
"I said, do I make myself clear?" Hanley repeated furiously.
"Yes, sir."
"This is the third time. There will not be a fourth, will there?"
"No, sir."
Baffled at the behavior of his best sergeant, Hanley studied him for another moment, then nodded and returned to the head of the column. Tate rejoined him, making no effort to talk to him.
With a concerted effort, Saunders closed away thoughts of home and old friends, forcing himself back into the present. Quietly, he instructed Tate in the various duties involved in bringing up the rear. Tate listened closely, asking few questions.
Glancing over his shoulder to check on Saunders, Hanley found Kirby and Doc doing the same thing. Great, he thought, now everyone was distracted by the sergeant's odd behavior.
^^^
They had reached the southernmost point of the patrol and were swinging east when a single shot rang out and Tate crumpled to the ground. Grabbing Hill's shoulder, Kirby thrust him to the ground behind a log, dropping beside him. Doc was under a bush, flat out on his stomach. Saunders was facing the way they'd come, and Doc could hear a faint but steady stream of curses coming from his direction. Hanley was scanning the trees for a sniper when Kirby's BAR chattered to life and a Kraut tumbled out of a tree behind them on the left.
"Kirby, Saunders, check it out." Hanley called softly.
Kirby jumped over Doc's legs, reaching Saunders just as he came off the ground, and the two vanished into the trees. The others remained where they were, waiting. A few minutes later, they returned and Saunders knelt at Tate's side. Doc looked over at him and shook his head slowly. Saunders removed Tate's dog tags and handed them to Hanley, who'd just joined them.
"Here, Lieutenant. You'll need these." His voice was taut with anger.
"Did you check the Kraut's unit?"
"Yeah. 241st, Lieutenant." Kirby answered.
"Let's move out." Hanley turned and strode back to the head of the group.
Kirby caught Doc's eye and raised an eyebrow, with a slight nod toward the sergeant. Doc shrugged, picking his bag up from beside the dead soldier. The small group moved on cautiously, Hill nervously scanning the area, subconsciously moving closer to Kirby.
^^^
A sudden burst of gunfire sent the group to the ground, scrambling for whatever cover they could find. Hanley raised his head, quickly ducking back down when another burst tore into the leaves beside him. Kirby opened up with his BAR and Hill's lighter M-1 was also firing. Hearing nothing from Saunders' Thompson, Hanley twisted around to find the sergeant squirming into the bushes to the left, obviously intending to flank the Germans. As a veteran soldier, he should know better than to move off without saying anything, Hanley thought. Rolling to his right to better cover, Hanley started firing, hoping the sergeant kept his mind on what he was doing. He heard a grunt of pain behind him, then heard Doc moving forward. A grenade exploded ahead of them, then there was silence. Kirby rose slowly, moving forward past the lieutenant to check on the Germans. A few minutes later, he and Saunders returned.
"241st again, Lieutenant." Kirby said, reaching for his canteen.
Saunders walked slowly to where Doc was bending over Hill. He stared down at the young soldier in silence, his expression bleak.
"Doc?" Hanley questioned.
"He's dead, Lieutenant." Doc answered quietly.
"Damn it, Hanley!" Saunders burst out. "I told you to leave them behind and now they're both dead."
"Take it easy, Sarge." Doc urged.
His face twisted with anger and something else, Saunders slammed the palm of his hand against Hanley's chest, knocking back a step.
"That's four men dead today!" Saunders shouted. "Four kids! I asked you to take someone else, but you had to bring these two and now they're dead!"
Both Kirby and Doc stared in disbelief. The sergeant was yelling at the lieutenant? The sergeant actually struck the lieutenant? Saunders?
"Sergeant!" The astounded officer finally found his voice. "Be quiet!"
"Are the next ones you kill gonna be in grade school?" Saunders demanded.
The enraged sergeant would bring the whole German Army down on them if he didn't do something, Hanley thought. Dropping his carbine, Hanley seized the sergeant's jacket and shook him so hard that the camo helmet tumbled off.
"Keep your voice down!" He ordered. "Shut your mouth and take the point."
Snatching up the fallen helmet, he thrust it into Saunders' hands then gave him a shove in the right direction, watching as the man stumbled away. Surely that couldn't have been tears he'd seen?
"Lieutenant?" Kirby, at his shoulder, said quietly as he handed him the carbine.
"What is it?" Hanley said absently, still watching Saunders.
"Hill was the younger brother of Saunders' friend from home. The friend, Tommy, was killed a few weeks ago."
"What?" Hanley stared at Kirby, then down at the dead soldier.
Nervously, Kirby repeated himself.
"I see." Hanley shook his head. "Let's go."
That certainly explained the sergeant's behavior. If Saunders had just told him....it wouldn't have made any difference. He would still have had to go with the men he had. He would have to see that Saunders got a rest when they got home, one way or another. Without asking, he knew that neither Kirby nor Doc would mention what they'd just witnessed.
^^^
Saunders pushed his way through the bushes, his emotions plunging from fury to despair to sadness and back to anger. He was fed up with war, with watching young kids die, with watching friends die. The brass sat at the rear, nice and safe, while ordering other men to die. He nearly fell over a log as he suddenly realized what he had just done. He couldn't believe he'd just yelled at the lieutenant. My God, he'd struck the lieutenant! He'd accused him of killing the men! Well, he wanted rest. He just hadn't planned to get it in the stockade.
Ahead of him, he saw three Krauts standing close together, smoking and talking, apparently unaware of his approach. The lieutenant said he wanted a prisoner, hadn't he? Alright, he'd get him his prisoner. Swinging his Thompson around, he cut loose, sending one of the Krauts spinning down to the ground. The other two whirled around, returning fire. He felt something hit him, but felt no pain as he continued to fire. Running forward through a hail of bullets that miraculously missed him, he fired at the German on the left, experiencing a sense of satisfaction as his bullets tore into the man's chest. Turning his attention to the remaining Kraut, he found him on his knees, his hands in the air, shaking with terror. Hell, he thought, he isn't any older than Sammy is. Was, he amended.
Motioning the Kraut to his feet, Saunders jerked the man's belt off and threw it to the side, then pushed the young soldier back toward the rest of the squad. The lieutenant stopped, Doc and Kirby on either side of him, as Saunders herded the German toward them.
"Here's your prisoner, Lieutenant." Saunders said, surprised to suddenly find himself on his knees.
"Sergeant?" Doc's voice came from a great distance.
He saw Hanley's hand reaching toward him and wondered if he was going to actually hit him this time instead of just shaking him. With mild interest, he watched the trees start to spin and Hanley's face dissolve into Sammy's dead face, then he tasted dirt and realized he was lying on his face. He could hear Doc's and Kirby's voices, but couldn't make out what they were saying, then there was nothing.
^^^
Hanley shoved the German at Kirby and knelt by the sergeant, gently turning him onto his back. Doc nudged him aside to examine the bloody wound just above Saunders' belt. Hanley rose and backed out of the way. Arriving just in time to see Saunders' foolhardy run at the Germans, he'd heard him shouting that this one was for Sammy. Many times, he'd been told that once a man lost it, he rarely made it back. He didn't want to believe it about this man. He didn't want to believe he was partly responsible.
"Doc?" Holding the Kraut's arm firmly, Kirby glanced at the lieutenant silently staring down at Saunders, then at the medic. "How is he?"
"It's not too bad. Mostly shock and exhaustion. Help me rig a litter when I get this bandaged, will you?"
"Sure."
They built a litter using their jackets while the still-silent officer watched the prisoner, then they had the German carry the front of the litter while Doc took the back. Hanley took the point while Kirby walked beside Doc, his BAR covering the prisoner.
"Doc?" Kirby said softly.
"Is he okay?"
"Sure. It's really just a flesh wound."
"Not the sarge. The lieutenant. He hasn't said a word since Saunders got it."
"I don't know, Kirby." Doc said soberly.
^^^
It wasn't until they reached home that the lieutenant finally spoke.
"Kirby, Doc, take him to the aid station. I'll take the prisoner."
"Yes, sir." Kirby answered, taking the German's place on the litter.
They watched Hanley lead the prisoner away, then headed for the aid station. Caje, Littlejohn, and Billy, their cots lined up side by side, all raised up when Kirby and Doc came in with their burden.
"The sarge?" Caje was the first to speak. "How bad?"
"He'll be alright. I think." Doc answered as the doctor hurried over.
"I'm gonna find someplace to sleep for a week, Doc." Kirby sighed, rubbing a weary hand over his face.
"Yeah, me too." Doc agreed.
Twelve hours later, the two of them returned to the aid station. Caje was smoking a cigarette while Littlejohn and Billy were talking quietly.
"Hey, where's Saunders?" Doc asked, looking around.
"Over there, in the corner." Caje answered.
"How is he?"
"The doctor says he's okay. He's still sleeping."
"What about you guys?" Kirby asked.
"We get out of here tomorrow." Littlejohn grinned.
^^^
Saunders lay still, listening to the voices around him. He picked out Hanley's deep voice, Doc's soft drawl, and the voice of someone he didn't know.
"He's been asleep for over twenty-four hours, doctor." Hanley was saying. "Are you sure he's alright?"
"Yes, Lieutenant." The unknown voice replied patiently. "For the fourth time, he's fine. He was worn out on top of losing blood. All he needs is rest."
"I'll go tell the others, Lieutenant." Doc said, and Saunders heard him walking away.
"Lieutenant?" The doctor asked.
"I'll sit with him for awhile."
"He's asleep. He won't know you're here."
"I know."
The doctor walked away and Hanley settled down on the edge of the cot. Might as well get it over with, Saunders thought resignedly and opened his eyes. Hanley was gazing into the distance, a cigarette dangling from the corner of his mouth.
"Lieutenant?" Saunders said quietly. Apparently not quietly enough, for the lieutenant jumped, nearly falling off the cot.
"Welcome back, Sergeant. How do you feel?"
He had his inscrutable face on and Saunders couldn't tell what he was thinking.
"Am I up on charges, sir?"
"Charges? For what?" Hanley looked surprised.
"Insubordination, for a start."
"No, Sergeant. You are not up on charges. I don't recall any instance of insubordination."
"What about striking an officer?"
"You were angry. You were gesturing and I got in your way." Hanley shrugged.
Saunders opened his mouth, thought better of it, and shut it again, causing Hanley to grin.
"I asked how you're feeling, Sergeant?"
"I'm okay, sir."
"Uh-huh. Sure you are. As soon as you get yourself kicked out of here, you and your squad are due for a week's furlough."
"A week?" Saunders repeated, not sure he'd heard right.
"That's right. A week's furlough. You get some rest and get that side healed up. I'll be back later."
With a slight feeling of unreality, Saunders watched him walk away, whistling. A week's furlough, huh? He sure wasn't going to argue with that, he thought as he lay back with a sigh

name : Xamri
pronouns : they/them
preference of communication : tumblr ims atm, might add discord idk yet.
most active muse: koa, the men i have in replies are pretty active rn in general but his muse has been strongest hc wise too.
experience / how many years: too many. rping off and on since i was 13/14 but didn't end up on tumblr side of rp till i was like 18 and its been quite awhile since then.
best experience : 2015-2017ish, had a good group of partners that also interacted a lot ooc and did indie groups together and watched movies together on rabb.it and stuff. good times.
rp pet peeves : think we can all agree on godmodding without any kind of prior communication, rushing replies, passive aggression ooc
fluff, angst, or smut : i like them all but i feel like i tend to fall in to writing angsty by default but these days seems to lean smutty lately. could probably use more fluff.
plots or memes : plots. i think i tend to take more inspo from plots than memes. but i lowkey suck at plotting when there isn't a basis of chemistry naturally starting between muses or ooc between muns. i think i get better at plotting the more comfortable i am with someone and like i know you're interested yknow. (hence why i also typically dont reach out first cause im a chronic overthinker and feel like i might be bothering you otherwise.)
long or short replies : short is great but i tend to ramble a fuck ton anyway like my answers here. i dont expect ppl to match length tho.
time to write : whenever i can lol usually more active at night.
are you like your muses: not really so far, but they're all pretty new so we shall see. a few are neurodiverse and so am i, thats bout it rn lol.
tagged by: @somethingscft
tagging: i think some of the ppl i would've tagged already were by others so anybody who sees this and wants to give it a shot lol

Hey hey so I got a dumb idea. Imagine swordsman reader (lets make em gender neutral so all the lovelies can enjoy) who’s self-taught. While they’re confident in their swordsmanship, they don’t think it’s up to par with the greats due to their modest nature and also thinking the other swordsman are more awesome than them. But actually they are that good they just don’t realise that they are that skilful.
They might be able to give mihawk a good fight, so when mihawk sees them, he’s interested and wants to challenge their skills. Sadly he straights out attack them out of the blue once as a test and reader, blocking it without realising, thinks he’s here to kill them or sth, just guns for it because its the FUCKING GREATEST SWORDSMAN AND HES MAD AT THEM FOR SOME REASON AND THEY WOULDNT SURVIVE OH GOD RUNNNN.
Mihawk, seeing that they managed to block one of his powerful strikes is now eager af to fight them and proceeds to chase them down for a battle. Cue dumb misunderstandings as reader just keeps running from fights when mihawk appears and mihawk jumping in to suddenly spar with reader. Mihawk now travels around SOLEY to hunt down reader for a battle.
This can go either platonic or romantic, when reader and mihawks clear up that misunderstanding and finally battle it out and its legendary. But because Mihawks FINALLY has a rival and reader wants to do other things like maybe travel or help other ppl, the mihawk randomly coming in to fight reader and reader Not Having It dynamic starts up again, only slightly different.
Bonus: Shanks, who knows the two of them and meets them occasionally is having the best time of his life. He also pokes fun at Mihawk for being the absolute worse in properly communicating his intentions to reader. At one point he has pestered mihawk to come over to party with his crew while reader was on board to see what happens (before misunderstanding was cleared up).
There are no dumb ideas here, boo! Your idea is great and I love it, I'm very happy you trust me to write it!! I stuck to Mihawk’s perspective, so hope that’s cool with ya! (I also tagged my Shanks taglist cause he’s kind of in here-)
Mihawk does his best to communicate! But man, is a man of so many words! He’s a better nonverbal communicator!
Babe Below~!
Dracule Mihawk

He didn’t understand why they continued this game of cat and mouse, it was getting a bit old in all honesty. Staring at his cup of whiskey his “friend” poured him as they sat in the corner of a quiet bar, he questioned the ginger on the matter.
“I would run from you too if I thought you were out to kill me.”
Confusion graced the darker head’s features, why would he want to kill you? That seemed a bit overkill and unnecessary in his opinion, he could have sworn when he challenged you to a sparring match you understood the terms, now he felt a bit silly.
Seeing the light blush of embarrassment grace Mihawk’s cheek, Shanks let out a roll of laughter, spilling some of his own whiskey in the process.
“Don’t worry so much, Mi! I’m sure if you talked to them, without your swords, they will understand. Should I get involved in your lover’s quarrel?”
A glare was his only reply as he continued to laugh and Mihawk got up, not in the mood to deal with his idiotic behavior for the rest of the evening. As he headed back to his own living quarters, he stopped, seeing you enter the bar. You two held eye contact like a predator and it’s prey would, taking a step back, you made the first move.
“Wait.”
Hearing the slight urgency in his usual monotone voice, you nodded and still kept your distance, letting the man speak. He hesitated, still a bit tipsy from his drinking, he did his best to coherently speak his mind.
“When I challenged you, it wasn’t some fight to the death, rather I wanted to have a good sparring match, those are rare to come by these days.”
You blinked at the usual mature man, but was only given an awkward, shy mess. Thinking back yourself on the times you met, he never did pose a threat or come after you as you ran, it just surprised you a Warlord of all people would want to spar with you.
Nodding, you smiled a bit and accepted his words, promising the next time they met when he wasn’t tipsy, they would have a fair sparring match. He nodded feeling better that they were able to talk, leaving you with a now drunk Shanks who chuckled when you sat next to him.
“So, when’s the wedding?”
“After your funeral.”

Sweat slid down your back as you adjusted your grip on your blaster. This was just going to be a massacre, you know it. No one was coming for a troop of soldiers who went wandering. The bandits were getting closer on their speeders and you cursed your commander once again. Fucking idiot. Now you were going to pay for his curiosity with your lives.
You felt something moving in your peripheral. Not something, someone. Your commander was sprinting full speed towards his speeder. Fucking coward. You could feel the unease within your troop passing through like a wave. Uncertainty, watching their leader running away, leaving them for dead.
“You just got promoted,” a voice snarked. You looked at Hux kneeling on the sand beside you with his own blaster in a death grip.
“Hold your positions!” You bellowed to your men. “You’re with me on this one right?” You asked him.
“Oh, your strength gives me strength,” Hux replied. Bantha shit. You only hoped he didn’t run off too early in the battle for you to notice. No such luck.
Hux scrambled to his feet, kicking up a cloud of sand as he ran for his life. “Wait! Wait for me!” It was so quiet you could hear his blaster clatter to the sand where he dropped it.
“Steady!” Force help us. “Fire!” Figures toppled from speeders as many of the glowing red bolts found its marks. Some nicked just the right places of the speeders for them to combust. But it just wasn’t enough. They kept coming. It took seconds for the sand to be littered with spoils of a battle. At least the scavengers were up for a treat.
“Shit, shit, shit,” They were gaining too fast. Where the hell did this many bandits come from? There were already many soldiers running for their lives. And there were only so many bolts left in your blaster. You got up from your position, firing and running. And it wasn’t easy by any means.
You catch a glimpse of Hux running before you. Now his decision to desert only seemed smart. You never should’ve trusted your commander.
“Run Hux! Run!” You yelled after him, trying to take out as many bandits on your tail as possible. Hux was running towards a heavy stone door.
“Get inside! Get inside!” You yelled again. Maybe you could make it too.
“Hey!” No, no, no. “Don’t you close that door!” That fucker! Hux was very enthusiastically shutting the door after himself. Kriff, he really didn’t care if you died, did he? “Don’t you close that fucking door!” Again, no such luck. Hux shut the door on your face. The stone ledge cracked and crumbled under the assault of the blaster bolts and you took off running again.
Leaping over walls and dodging pillars did no good. You only ended up more winded by the time you got cornered against a large sculpture. There was nowhere left to go. About eight bandits stood in a single file before you, their blasters aimed for your head. There are worse ways to go, you tried to tell yourself. Like what? Your brain unhelpfully supplied.
You squeezed your eyes as tightly as possible, bracing for the impact of the blaster bolts ripping you apart, but it never came. You slowly opened one eye against the harsh sun and saw... nothing. None of the bandits were there anymore. Only a lingering cloud of dust signalling their swift exit. Weird.
You dared to venture one step from the shelter of the statue. Then another one. The sounds of battle had ceased. The only thing you could hear was the distant sound of speeders fleeing. And a rasp in the air like a whisper.
“You will die,” It chanted. You had to run.
“You will die,” You took a step forward and the sand shifted beneath your feet. Jumping to your side, trying to dodge the sand which now erratically shifted around like something was moving underneath it.
You stumbled backwards just in time to see the sand form the shape of a huge screaming face. And then there was a deafening roar. Nope, you were not sticking around to see what happens next.
--
“The creature remains undiscovered,” The dark-skinned man announced, sitting on the speeder, flanked by men and women dressed similar to him in robes of beige.
“And what of this one, Finn?” One asked, nodding at the figure scrambling away towards the vast spread of sand.
“Should we kill them?” The figure turned as if it heard them speaking about it.
“No,” Finn said as it turned back and continued running. “The desert will kill them,”
---
“Battle of Yavin volume one, volume two,” Poe was standing on a ladder propped against a shelf, sorting out the new arrivals into their proper places. His dress shoes pinched uncomfortably, but Ben insisted that the dress code be strictly followed at all time. It did get annoying at times.
“Crait Terrains? What are you doing here?” That doesn’t go on that shelf, he must’ve picked up a wrong book.
Poe wasn’t mad, talking to books in an empty library. It was routine work and it got really quiet sometimes. The sound of his own voice was his only companion. “I’m gonna put you where you belong,”
It would’ve been wise to climb down the ladder, prop it against the opposite shelf, climb said ladder, then place the book in its place. But sometimes, Poe liked to work smarter, not harder. Or so he told himself.
He reached back towards the shelf behind him, firmly gripping onto the rung. The problem however, was not how hard he held on to the ladder. The momentum of his weight shifting forward was enough to move the ladder in an upright position.
With a yelp, Poe managed to pull himself up, which wasn’t the smartest move considering he was now perilously balanced on a ladder propped against nothing.
And then the ladder wobbled, Poe shifted his weight, trying not to fall. But he was just having a very bad day and the ladder wasn’t cooperating. He managed to wrangle it in an ever more precarious position away from the shelves.
“Help,” he whispered unable to find his voice in his very mild panic. The ladder creaked and wobbled again but at least now he faced the shelves.
Then he fell.
Right on top bookshelf he had painstakingly sorted and arranged all day long. It toppled right on top of the next on, setting off a chain reaction as Poe watched in horror. He crambling away just in time as the last shelf collapsed over the spot he was standing on barely a few seconds ago.
Well, fuck.
“What... How...” It seemed his bad luck wasn’t done fucking with his day. Just then, his employer appeared seemingly out of nowhere. Very few things really elicit a visible reaction from Ben Kenobi, but Poe seemed to be the only person who managed to make his blood boil without even trying.
“Oh, look at this! Force!” He exclaimed. “Give me Banthas! Or even porgs! Anything but you!” Poe grimaced, shrinking back from the old man who was a whole head taller than him, now marching over to him.
“I’m so very sorry, it was an accident,” He stumbled over his apology, but it seemed his employer wasn’t done berating him.
“You, are a catastrophe! Look at my library! Why do I put up with you?” Ben threw his hands in the air.
“I put up with you because... because,” Poe grappled for something to say. Something that wouldn’t send Ben into another fit of rage or get him unemployed, but he couldn’t come up with anything.
“I put up with you because of your godmother is one of our finest patrons!” Oh well, “Now, I don’t care how you do it, I don’t care how long it takes. Straighten up this mess!” Ben exclaimed one final time before spinning around towards the entrance, his long tan cloak billowing behind him like a cape.
Poe threw his head back groaning, loudly. It seemed like luck just wasn’t on his side when it came to Ben Kenobi. In just one week of employment, Poe managed to get himself almost fired, not once, but a total of three times. He wondered if he was going to break some kind of record for the fastest person to ever be sacked as a librarian of all things.
A clattering noise pulled him out of his reverie. Poe sighed. The last thing he needed right now was something else to fall apart in the storage room and risk further angering Ben Kenobi. He quickly grabbed a flashlight from the desk before going to check on the noise.
The storage room, much to his annoyance, almost never had working lights in it. Somehow, the room filled with ancient artefacts and important documents was almost always dark. The beam of light dancing over random objects made shadows dance over the walls. Poe hated the dark.
“Hello?” Poe called out into the room and no one responded. He wasn’t sure if he would’ve preferred to hear a reply. Great. Now he’s got to risk his life twice before lunchtime. Librarians are so underrated.
“Snap?” He called out, noticing his voice only wavered slightly despite the darkness. Poe swore to himself, he was going to haunt the hell out of Kenobi’s ass if he died today. “Beebee?”
Poe almost jumped out of his skin at the sound of a loud thud coming from a corner. Please let it be Beebee, please let it be Beebee. Poe chanted under his breath. He couldn’t die, not today, not in the hands of a ghost. No way.
Thud. With a rare boost of bravery, Poe persevered towards the sound. How bad could it be? It was just a storage room in a library, there’s no way he was going to-
SCREEEEEEEE
A skeletal figure popped up with a deafening screech. Poe screamed, almost dropping the flashlight in his hurry to get the fuck out of there. But the sound of laughter that soon followed the screech, stopped him on his tracks.
He turned back to the open sarcophagus that Rey sat on, her whole face red from wheezing from laughter. The withering glare Poe sent her might have sent a stranger running but Rey only laughed harder at his expense.
“Don’t you have any respect for the dead?” He started to berate her.
“Of course I do, But sometimes I’d rather like to join them,” she grinned up at him, throwing an arm over the skeleton as if it weren’t a fucking skeleton. Poe suppressed a shudder. He hated bones. Yeah, ironic for someone trying to dig up dead stuff.
“Well I wish you’d do it sooner rather than later before you ruin my career-” Rey gave a long-suffering sigh, having heard this speech just about enough times already.
“Oh please, career is too generous of a word for whatever it is you’re doing,” She folds her arms behind her head, leaning back. But Poe wrapped his hands around her arms, easily hefting her off. For someone who looked like they’ll snap in half if it gets a little too windy, Rey got into more trouble then anyone he knew. Himself included.
“Now get out,” Poe unceremoniously dropped her on the floor.
“Woah! Hey, now who pissed in your drink,” she kicked him, dusting off her tan pants.
“Rey, im really not in the mood right now, I just made a bit of a mess in the library and Kenobi’s gonna kick my ass if I don’t fix it.” Poe plopped into an upturned crate, signing. He really didn’t want to go back into the library. It gave him a headache just thinking of the colossal mess he made.
“Besides,” She continued, paying no mind to him. “I’ve got just the thing to cheer you up!”
“What did you do this time?” He whined as she thrust a pyramid-shaped object into his hands, softly glowing a deep shade of red. There were inscriptions along the edges. Inscriptions he recognized.
“Rey, I think you found something,” He whispered, looking at her wide-eyed with excitement. Rey thought he looked very slightly deranged like this. In an endearing way, of course. “Its the Sith pathfinder,”
---
“You see the inscriptions on it? It’s the royal seal of Palpatine the first, I’m sure of it,” Poe announced as Ben Kenobi intently examined the pyramid-shaped object.
“Two questions,” Rey interrupted, “Who the hell was Palpatine the first, and was he rich?”
“He was the second emperor of the Sith dynasty, said to be the wealthiest emperor of them all,” Poe informed her. He had more than a little distaste for the name. After all, his parents were both taken by the war started by the Sith sympathisers.
“Good. That’s good. I like this fellow,” Rey proclaimed. “I like him very much,” Poe shook his head in resignation. He didn’t fault her, Rey was way too young to know the horrors of war. But she was no stranger to hardship. She was just a scrawny eleven-year-old alone and fighting for survival in the harsh Jakku dessert when Ben Kenobi and Luke Skywalker found her.
“I’ve already dated the map, its almost three thousand years old,” Poe pointed to a part of the map, “And if you look at the hieratic just here, well,” Poe shrugged, knowing full well the kind of scepticism the place invoked. “Its Exegol,” Rey perked up at the sound of the name, suddenly becoming a hell lot more interested in the object that had come into her possession.
“Force, don’t be ridiculous. We’re scholars, not treasure hunters.” Ben Kenobi snaps at him. “Exegol is a myth told by ancient storytellers,”
“Oh? Was the war instigated by the senator who believed in Sith dictatorship a myth too?” snapped back at him. Ben looked taken aback by his reaction. It was rare for Poe to act out or even be disrespectful, at least it had been the past few years. He had more than a few rebellious years when he was much younger. Poe sighed, dragging a hand down his face. “My research has led be to believe that the city itself may have actually existed,”
“Are we talking about the Exegol,”
“Yes, the City of the Sith, located right over the cave kyber crystals are said to be found,”
“Oh, yes. A cave full of kyber crystals,” Rey’s voice was full of awe. Ben scoffed at her eagerness. “Oh please, everybody knows that story,” then proceeded to yelp as the sleeve of his robe sleeve caught on the edge of the table and the sith pathfinder goes tumbling over the desk. Poe and Rey dived right after it trying to catch it before it hit the ground but to no avail.
“You broke it, you broke a part of the city!” Rey accused him, scooping up the pathfinder, now missing a chunk on the side which laid shattered on the ground beside her.
“It’s for the best, I’m sure,” Ben said. “Many men have wasted their lives in the foolish pursuit of Exegol. No one’s ever found it.” He had a distant look in his eyes, almost like he was reminiscing. “Most have never returned.”
Rey’s voice was soft when she spoke again. Poe almost missed it. “Is there where uncle Luke went?” Ben sighed, getting up from his seat. He walked over to Rey, cupping her face in between his palms. Her small face dwarfed by his much larger hands.
“What makes you say that, Rey?” He asked her with a tenderness Poe had almost never heard from the man before. He felt like he was intruding in a private moment. “No one knows where he went or why, my child,” Ben pulled Rey into a hug, allowing them a single moment’s grief for their missing family member.
“Now run along, you both have things to do,” Poe didn’t resist, mentally drained from the eventful day he just had he was more than ready to call it a day, even if it was barely three o’clock.
Rey nudged him with her elbow as the two of them walked out of the office. Her face was alight with the conspiring smirk Poe was well acquainted with. “I have an idea,”
Despite his earlier reservations about being more than ready to end the day, Poe felt his own lips pull into a smile at the promise trouble. “Lead the way, Kenobi,” Just like old times then, he thought. Rey hooked at arm under his elbow, skipping down the steps as she led him out of the library.

Why do you like Kakasasu?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I waited to reply to this because I wanted to be sure it wasn’t a troll and it wasn’t a drama starting attempt (like this or this, gems found in the sasuke/KS tag) since it’s a subject I am very interested in.
I replied to Kakashi/Sasuke related asks, shippy or not shippy, here, here and here. More about them here, here and here. Put yourself comfortable cause this is gonna be long. Not putting it under a readmore cause I remember ppl complaining they coulnd’t open it on mobile phones (?). Also, moralists who are lurking: don’t interact, get out of my blog. Youll be blocked on sight.
When I started reading N*ruto I was into Bleach a lot, and the fact that the characters were a little older and looked older made me not get into Nar that much at first, because they looked like kiddies lol. I didn’t care about Nar as a character and his initial rivalry with Sas was cute but not enough to get me interested. Only when Kakashi got closer to Sasuke I started being veery interested in the story and in the characters. What I found intriguing was that Kakashi was older and an authority figure, but also someone to look up and who helped his students, BUT at the same time he wasn’t exactly a father-like figure or a big brother-like figure, because he had his dark side, that back then wasn’t well flashed out but that nevertheless showed a closed-off person who kept everything inside, not letting others get too close to him.
(then I started liking N*rusasu mostly because there were so many cool doujinshi especially Emi10/Rankai and Engawaken, while KS doujinshi were so meh, kinda in old yaoi style like Loveless, with tiny Sas who looked even younger hahaha, not my thing)
As those who know my blog and/or my writing know already, I am not interested in healthy, cute, positive dynamics in fiction. I might enjoy them, I might be happy when there are such moments, but I can’t like a whole relationship/dynamic/story only like this because I like to explore complicated ones in fiction.Because fiction is very useful for this, it makes you explore dark, taboo things, without affecting reality (no matter what idiots say), it’s cathartic, it’s a way to do, see, experience things without doing anything.
Back to topic tho, I found their initial dynamic very intriguing. A broken, traumatized yet extremely driven Sasuke, acting as confident and strong as he can, but showing his trauma in various occasions, otherwise being mostly aloof, lost in his own thoughts, and a differently broken Kakashi, acting chill but at the same time always ready to act when needed, yet always kinda distracted, aloof, lost in his owh thoughts (and later we’ll know he took Obito’s mannerisms because he was a stickler to rules). The way Kakashi takes a special interest for Sasuke, clearly the most driven, the best of the team, with whom he holds back much less (when he trains them, like when in the beginning, during the bell test, he fights with Sas and seeing that he almost took it, he overpowers him) while he is different with the others (Nar will have Jiraiya later). The way he protects Sasuke during the chuunin exams, while he’s in the hospital and Kabuto is trying to kill him.
Mostly, the controversial moments...like I said I live for these kind of things. where he both protects and threatens him...like when he does that seal to Sasuke, for his curse mark, and he tells him that if that curse mark takes over he’ll kill him. Or when he ties Sasuke up so he won’t join Orochimaru.
Before someone says bs like *you’re not Sas fan if you like that scene* (I know there are many like this and I want all of them out of my blog btw) uh, it’s not how it works guys. You can support a character and still be intrigued by scenes where said character is tied up/in a forcibly submitted position and so on. Guess what, some of those scenes are made for fanservice even (and Sas has many of these, so if you don’t see the appeal/refuse to admit that there is appeal, it’s you who have a problem). So even tho I disagree with Kakashi not wanting to listen to Sasuke’s reasons for revenge (and later supporting SHikamaru’s, I replied to this in one of the asks I linked) I do find that scene interesting...I mean Sasuke tied up in a very suggestive way and yet defying him and threatening to kill his loved ones and Kakashi opening up in a very weird way vaguely replying that he lost those ppl already? It shows a lot about them, their personalities, everything.
I am sticking to part 1 because there are more meaningful interactions between them, I wished there were more in part 2 but kishi shifted Kakashi’s ‘interest’ to Nar, making him one of Nar’s followers...even so, the intractions they had were very interesting. Their fight after Sasuke fights Danzo is one of my fave moments in the whole story tbh, much more than the later confrontation with Nar. Kakashi for the first time has an inner only, yet strong, emotional reaction, having to fight and supposedly kill his former student who became a rogue with a death sentence on his head...he realizes this is how Hiruzen felt against Orochimaru. It’s a strong realization from someone like him who was always so closed off and aloof that he totally lacked empathy.
On the other hand Sasuke is in a different mindset. He’s sort of high for having succeeded in eliminating the one who made Itachi suffer so much, he’s thinking about killing the elders and destroy the village, so he’s basically lost in the recent past of Danzo’s death and in the future plans he’s making, he’s not in the present moment almost...but he has to fight anyway, and it’s a cool fight, also because he’s weakened already and Kakashi is strong...and then he gets blind, totally, and it’s an amazingly intriguing moment, the kind of controversial stuff I’m interested in, because that’s when he could be totally overpowered by Kakashi, if the story didn’t have other priorities (putting Nar in the center of attention with their confrontation).
Their later moments, like during the war, are meh cause the interest shifted already completely, but their moments in jail (anime only ofc) and their Shinden interactions (only through messages) are interesting to me. Very much so, because they show power dynamics very well, with Kakashi as THE authority and Sasuke as the one submitted. In jail it’s even more evident with him looking down at the younger tied up and blindfolded...like, wow. It’s like fanfiction material (in fact I wrote one (ff.net/a03) and there was the coolest fanart inspired by it! here..there were more but this came on my dash today so).
You mentioned power dynamics...their dynamics are all power dynamics because Kakashi was never at Sasuke’s same level and he never acted like he was, and when Sasuke was stronger, during the war, they basically didn’t interact, and when the war was over and Sasuke was brainwashed and tamed into submission the power dynamic remained the same.
The difference imo between them and other power dynamics based pairings is that they are closer than what could be defined rare pairings such as Obito (they had a very interesting one tho, if only it was developed), Madara (the story was already developed in a pro Konoha-anti Uchiha way but it would have been so cool to have the 2 Uchiha interact more), or other older and stronger characters, so the dynamic could be written in a cool way in a fanfiction but in canon Kakashi created it already. So, while I can imagine something like Shisui/Sasuke, Obisasu or more, in my head, and I can come up with some AU or canon divergent/canon behind the screen (like when Sas stayed with Obito after the transplant), Kakashi and Sasuke had canon interactions that showed power dynamics already.
(Then there is Itasasu, which is a huge power dynamic based relationship, that also had amazingly strong feelings though, and those who know me know that for me Itachi will always be Sasuke’s most loved person, and that he was the same for Itachi. So ofc imo IS is a much stronger bond compared to KS but still. Also I remember in the beginning how many fics I read where Itachi was abusive to Sas and Kakashi stepped in lol. And it’s not a mystery that even though I think the IS bond is the strongest I find other pairings and character dynamics very interesting, so much that I like to explore them even more than IS, which, imo, is almost a given fact so I don’t always feel the need to explore it)
Another thing I find intriguing is that Kakashi always saw Sas at his ‘worst’...in Konoha’s terms I mean. When he wanted revenge in pt 1, after he killed Danzo and he was weak and so desperate and hysterical that they thought he got crazy, when he was jailed. It’s a big power he has, to be able to see someone like this.
Tbh it’s a pity that there were no post war moments (B*ruto shit doesn’t count) where they interact ‘normally’ cause I would have liked to see them, both as normal interactions where they get closer again, now that Sas is older, where they train and they get physical (and Kakashi has a lot of repressed anger, jealousy and possessiveness to let out on the one who betrayed his sensei and went to another...not my opinion but it could be Kakashi’s pov) because I think power dynamic would come up a lot, even from apparently cute moments.
I’ll end this super long essay hoping that you didn’t fall asleep lol, and adding that Kakasasu was the first Nar pairing I shipped, which it speaks a lot about why I get so irritated when someone mentions it negatively.

The thought of healing didn’t cross your mind until some months later.
In the mornings after that morning, you stood in your balcony, leaning against the railing with a mug of coffee, your thoughts wandering. Sometimes you thought of what kind of coffee you liked, and other times you caught yourself wondering how Tetsurou moved through his six AMs. Morning thoughts were reserved for the things you prefer to keep out of your head during the day. Tetsurou, of course, had always been an exception. He somehow always flowed in your train of thought whether the numbers on your watch flashed 3am or 3pm.
Or now, you thought after taking a quick peek at the time in your phone, 6:19 AM; all you could think about was how sad his golden eyes looked against the black of Tokyo’s backdrop.
Tetsurou making his way into your thoughts has always how it’s been for almost a decade, and habits are a little hard to break. At least, that’s what you say to reason with yourself.
Thinking back to your words that night, the “I love you” just kind of slipped out. But you know you meant it. Shifting your wrist to the side, you studied the tattoo again, then closed your eyes to remember the expression on your best friend’s features.
You meant the I love you, you told yourself again. Towards yourself that was for sure; towards Tetsurou.
And that’s always going to be the case, taunted the voice in the back of your head.
After that night, Tetsurou had broken up with his long term girlfriend for good. Though he didn’t necessarily ruin himself over the breakup—there were changes.
He still texted you at odd hours to show you a video he thought was funny, still showed up to your apartment for movie nights, and more or less was still present. But it was during the particularly sentimental scenes in the movie where he’d choose to refill the popcorn or grab another soda, and you could see that his can was still half full. You noticing that Tetsurou always chose to pick the other boba shop that was on the other side of town never flew past you either. You knew that that was the shop he always used to take her after classes—so even seeing how his hands never failed to tighten against the steering wheel when the two of you would drive by, you always pretended not to notice. Even though four months had passed, you know that for him, the wound was still fresh.
And remembering how sad he looked that night, you couldn’t help yourself to feel for his pain. At the end of the day, weren’t you just two people who yearned for the love that couldn’t be yours?
So you sigh and take a sip of coffee from the mug; it had grown a little cold. The digital clock on your phone read 6:31 AM next to a text from Tetsurou asking if you had time for lunch later.
Replying a quick ‘yep. meet u at the usual :)’, did nothing for you trying to have a more productive day off today and thus the morning felt a little slower than normal, so you sigh. Again.
It was going to be one of those days.
-
Tetsurou always made it a point to look gorgeous. Was he trying? Probably not, but that son a bitch knew people gave him looks that lingered a bit too long to be considered just a passing glance. You nearly snort in laughter at the way he opens the door to the café a little too, for better words, extravagantly, and walk to you purposely taking his time because you could tell he felt the way the young mom sitting at the table near the counter was giving him the look.
Then again, you don’t blame her. You weren’t too far from her reaction, albeit you actually had the decency to not openly gawk at him. Tetsurou plopped down in the chair opposite from you and pushed his sleeves up to his elbows and propping them up the table before grabbing the menu from the middle of the table.
Already knowing your order, and his even though he still looks through the menu every time, you sit in your seat waiting for him to settle on the same thing he ordered the last time you ate there.
“Tetsu, why do you have to be so extra every time you see someone looking at you for more than three seconds?”
He cocked his head to the side and peeked at you from behind the menu, “Because I’m hot, tree.”
Though you rolled your eyes at the nickname, you still smiled at the familiar banter, “I still don’t get why you call me tree when you’re the literal beanpole in this friendship.”
“That’s rich coming from you, considering you told people you knew a talking rooster in highschool,” he deadpanned, but you knew he was on the edge of a chuckle from the way he emphasized his words.
“Hey,” you raised your arms up in defense, “people thought you were interesting that way so…”
Tetsurou set the menu down and rolled his eyes at your response as the waiter greeted the two of you. Before Tetsurou could open his mouth to say what he wanted, you spoke, “I’ll get the carbonara and he’ll get the tonkatsu ramen—“
“Oi-“ he interrupted from the side, still, you continued, “we’ll also get iced tea, extra sugar for him, and a little less for me.”
The waiter looked between the two of you waiting for Tetsurou to finish speaking but he only leans back huffing out a, “She’s right.”
You smirked. “You get the same thing every time.”
“Well what if I want something else one day?” he replied to which you rolled your eyes as a reply.
In between bites, Tetsurou looks up from his meal, “Any plans?”
You twirled the straw of your drink around the liquid and looked at him, “I was thinking of traveling somewhere. My boss is letting me take some time off, and season’s kind of slow, so might as well.”
He nods, and then points his chopsticks at you, sighing, “Oh to be young and employed with an employer who doesn’t want to kill you with work.”
“We’re literally seven months apart,” you deadpan.
He huffs in his seat and continues eating.
-
“Have you decided where you’re going?”
You look to your left at Tetsurou who’s facing you, no longer paying attention to the movie playing in the TV.  Smoothing out the blanket on your lap, you sigh and tilt your head. “Kinda? I’m thinking somewhere warm. Kinda miss the sea.”
At this point the movie you two settled on a few hours ago had been completely forgotten, so you shift your body and face him. He offers you your third (or was it the fourth?) can of beer for that night, which you take and pop open immediately.
“(Y/n), can you even swim?” he laughs.
You glare at him from behind your drink. “I can go and look pretty in the beach while sipping my margaritas thank you very much.”
Tetsurou clinks his can against yours and leans back against the couch, shifting to a more comfortable position. When he finally settles, he positions his head in a way that’s still facing you.
Draping your legs across his lap, you rearrange the blanket so that it covers the both of you. You feel the weight of his hands leaning against your legs and then hear him speak, “How long are you gonna be gone?”
You shrug. “I don’t know, a month? Two months? Haven’t even got the ticket yet.”
He gives you a look you can’t decipher, and then his voice becomes a little quiet, “What if I want to go with you?”
“Tetsu, you know your job won’t let you off that long,” you reply.
He lets out an exaggerated sigh and pout at you, “You’re going to go and find a new surfer best friend who’ll buy you margaritas that flips his hair and you’ll forget about me.”
You chuckle. “Like that’s gonna happen.”
At this point the alcohol must have hit the both of you because you suddenly look at him, eyes soft in the way you usually would mask in the hours you were sober. He looks at you, equally as deep in the state of inebriation as you are because his eyes are as hazy as the slur in his tone when he says, “Nope! Because you looooove me (y/n).”
And he laughs at his own joke, tilting his head back to take another swig of beer. The comedic undertone flies past you anyway, because you fiddle with the edge of your sweater and sadly nod, “Yeah. I do”
In front of you, Tetsurou raises his hand, smiling, then hollers, “High five! Love you too.”
If it wasn’t for the liquid confidence, you would’ve laughed along to his joke and take another gulp of your beer to swallow the confession—but you’re four cans in and Tetsurou saying that he loves you too clouds the usual boundaries swimming in your head.
He doesn’t notice you when you take another heavy gulp from your can, or bite your lip afterwards, but he hears you when you say, “I do, you dumb fuck, I love you.”
And as soon as you say it, you feel him look at you. You choose to keep your head down. A few beats of silence passes before he speaks, “I know, (y/n),” he reaches forward to grab your hand, taking it into his. He traces the lining of the tattoo before continuing, “I know your tattoo story. And I’m still proud of-“
“I love you, Tetsurou,” you could almost wince at how loud it echoed in the silence, and the alcohol is still swimming in your system so you take another gulp hoping to dive deeper.
You feel him stop tracing the lines on your wrist so you take your hand back to your lap. He let the quiet envelop the room again before he spoke, and you could tell he was careful with his words.
“That time in the balcony, when you said you loved someone…” he trailed off so you look up and catch his stare. His eyes were still glassy; your head was still swimming, the rational thoughts further muffled by liquid confidence.
“I meant you,” you say, and try to fight the urge to break eye contact.
And because Tetsurou chooses to reply with a hushed ‘I’m sorry.’, you tell him ‘it’s okay, Tetsu.’ and retreat to your bedroom with a mumbled excuse of sleeping off a headache.
You lie in the dark with one hand over your eyes and sniffle quietly. You hear his “I’m sorry,” echo in the silence, but you try to ignore the thought at how immediate the apology was. He always had a habit of thinking about his answers in uncertain situations.
But you know him more than you give yourself credit for, you realize, so you shut your eyes and ignore the sting of the tears because you know. You’ve always known everything you felt for him had been on the unrequited side for the most part.
The certainty in his apology still hurt none the less.
--
That morning you wake up with a slight pound in your head and an empty apartment. At least he didn’t stick around, you thought, fully aware that the conversation afterwards would have most likely been too awkward to sit through.
Sighing as you rounded the corner to enter the kitchen, you paused in your track to look at the table where a plate of omurice lay in the middle next to a glass of sweet tea, the condensation still a little fresh on the glass.
Taking a seat and whispering a soft, “Itadakimasu”, you picked up the glass and took a sip. It didn’t taste as sweet as his.
Your eyes still stung, but you couldn’t help but smile at the taste. Looks like he remembers how you like your tea too.
-
After that night, there never really came a talk about where the two of you stood. Two days after the not so sober confession, Tetsurou showed up at your door with a bag of donuts demanding your company to picnic at this new spot he found recently. So you played along and pretended like nothing happened. The rational thoughts were back, your head no longer cloudy so this time, you laughed along with Tetsurou.
Though you could tell this time around his gaze towards you lingered a little longer, and he began to have moments where it looked like he was contemplating to start a conversation then ultimately deciding against it at the very last second. It was fine, though. You weren’t sure if you were ready to have that conversation just yet.
So the next few weeks flowed like how it always did. Movie nights, playful banters, small talk, and beer—only this time you never drank more than two.
“Have you decided where you’re going?” he asks.
“Yeah, there’s this island in the Philippines. Siargao. My flight’s next week. The place looks sunny enough, but I might hop around the other islands if I stay long enough,” you reply.
“Don’t drown,” he laughs, and sets his beer down. You turn your focus back to the movie after chuckling at his reply and ignore how he never picked up a third can this time. And unlike before, he didn’t ask if he could come along this time.
-
Tetsurou drops you off with a half hug and a request that you update him as often as you can.
After a final wave at the gate, you board the plane with a return ticket to Japan slotted for two months later down the year.
-
The island of Siargao is as beautiful as the pictures you always see on social media. Outside the unit you rented, was a stretch of untouched beach that was some ways from the main square of the city. And true to your words, for the first week of your arrival, you spent your days kicking the sand, lounging by the water and sipping on margaritas.
Tetsurou sent you multiple messages during the first few days, to which you replied through selfies with your margaritas. He’d send you a photo of himself rolling his eyes with the caption “off to work, because I have a job. Like some people.” , or something along similar lines.
You tried to think this wasn’t some random trip you took just because of Tetsurou. It had been a long time since you last took a vacation for yourself; work was lenient, you saved up enough, and frankly, you missed the beach. Tetsurou was just the icing on top of the cake that helped you make your decision, you rationalized.
Plus, you thought, this place is paradise.
And you held on to that thought because a few days later came the knock on your door at six in the morning that introduced you to the serendipity you never could have predicted. Your little summer serendipity came in the form of a six foot one, and totally ripped blonde named Miya Atsumu.
He knocked at your door asking if you knew any places that rented out surfboards and scooters. By the time he was at the third word of his sentence, you knew he was Japanese because of the accent that lingered after he spoke. By the fourth sentence, he smiled in a way that had his eyes crinkling. And by the end of the conversation, by whatever being possessed you in that moment, probably that extra margarita, you had agreed to go to the main square in the city with him.
Atsumu knocks on your door for the second time that day at five in the afternoon wearing a loose white button shirt and another eye crinkling smile. Dangling a set of keys in one hand he nodded behind him and said, “Ready to go? I got the scooter from the place you told me.”
This time, you voiced out your hesitation, “Ahh, it’s alright. You don’t have to get dinner for me tonight. I just happened to know a place.”
He smiles and blinks at you laughing, “Ya travelin’ alone?” You nod then he continues, “Same here. Might as well know someone in the area. Heard the food here’s good, so let’s go.”
You open your mouth to protest but he turns and walks towards his scooter so you huff and follow after him. He did have a point. You were going to be there for two months so might as well actually take the time to know some people.
-
After Atsumu helps you fasten the belt on the helmet, he tells you to ‘feel free to hold on to my waist if ya need to balance.’ and then backs to the main street. Your hands rest on his shoulders as he drives along a road parallel to the stretch of water on your far left. It must have been close to seven, you take note, because as you glance up the colors in the sky begin to blend into mellow hues of orange and red.
You look forward and glance at Atsumu’s reflection in the side mirror before briefly catching his eye. From the mirror, you could see an expression that was somewhere between a smirk and a smile.
“Ya like what ya see?” he yells over the wind.
You squeeze his shoulder, then lean closer saying, “Just drive. I’m not in the mood to die.”
He laughs over the holler of the open air and you can’t help but smile along to how his laugh lingers in the air.
Soon enough, the two of you settle into a restobar by the beach, one close enough to the water where you could ditch your flip flops and let your feet sink in the sand.
This has got to be the fifth margarita I’m drinking today, you think to yourself before taking a sip. Still good though, you inwardly snort. Atsumu sits across you from the table nursing his own choice of drink.
The atmosphere was nice, the live musician strumming his first song in the background. Then Atsumu speaks from across you, “So,” he begins, “How long ya stayin’?”
You fiddle with the straw of your drink, facing him, “Two months. You?”
He shrugs, “I don’t know yet. Off season and there’s not much to do back home, so might as well be bored somewhere a little more scenic.”
“Indefinite vacation,” you nod—impressed, “Must be hella loaded.”
He laughs again, “I’m comfortable.”
The silence envelops the two of you again, but as the musician begins another song, from the corner of your eye you see Atsumu listen, clap, and smile so you decide maybe befriending this stranger won’t be so bad after all.
The next night you head for go for drinks, Tetsurou messages you with a picture of him and Kenma in the car with a caption, “movie night minus the traitor who left the country >:((“ and you reply with your signature margarita selfie with Atsumu throwing a peace sign to your right. Tetsurou replies with a smiley face and you don’t hear from him for the rest of the night.
-
The next few weeks consisted of waking up shy of the sunrise and walks along the trail where the waves crept towards the sand. Atsumu liked to join you in the mornings, of course, the days he actually wakes up before ten AM. Some days you’d watch him peddle out into the water catching wave after wave as you sat in the sand, under a shade. You didn’t really go out into the water and preferred to just sit in the sun, so the times Atsumu would catch a break, he’d lay out a towel next to you and sit to talk.
He was talkative. Extremely talkative. But it was welcome, you suppose. He asked aimless questions during conversations. Conversations with him usually sounded like this: “(y/n)?” “Yep?” “Whadda ya think about riceballs?” “They’re…okay, I guess.” “Good to know.”
It was endearing, you suppose. Atsumu respected your boundaries and never pried, that fact was for sure. Though, he chose to fill in the beats of silence with little facts about his life. Over the course of the next month, in the moments you’d spend with Atsumu during the day, you’ve learned that he was playing for a professional volleyball team, he’s originally not from Tokyo, he tripped during a fan meeting, has a twin brother who’s darn good at cookin’ (he emphasized), and that his favorite food is fatty tuna. You don’t remember specifically asking, but he talks anyway you can’t bring yourself to mind one bit.
During the past month and some, Tetsurou sporadically texts you a greeting to which you reply to—but this time, it wasn’t until much, much later that you realize you didn’t think too much about the change of tone and much hastier conversations. You usually ended the phone call this time around, too.
Nearing the last few stretches of golden hour, Atsumu would routinely knock at your door and drag you out to walk around the beach only retreating to your respective units hours after the sunset.
It was during this one night where Atsumu sits you down and stars a small bonfire. He excused himself for a brief moment then came back with a Tupperware of what you assumed to be snacks, a blanket, and a hoodie which he lent you (that up to now you still haven’t returned).  You smile as he takes his seat next to you, comfortable in his hoodie.
“So,” Atsumu breaks the silence, “how come yer runnin’ away for two months?”
“That’s kinda sudden,” you reply.
He knocks your shoulder with his lightly before speaking again, “You don’t have ta’ share if you don’t wanna.”
“No pressure,” he says again and his eyes crinkle at his smile so you press your shoulder against his and say, “I just wanted time for myself I guess.”
He nods, so you continue, “It’s nothing dramatic, really. For a big part of my life I just…lived according to how people placed me in their lives. I guess I just wanted the space where I had to make decisions from nothing if that even makes any sense.”
“Depends. How many margaritas did ya have today?” he jokes.
“Atsumu! You were with me the whole day, I haven’t even had one yet,” you laugh out.
“But I understand what ya’ mean. Yer all good, I just thought you were gonna say you were soul searchin’ cause of a boy that broke ya’ heart back home.”
You look at him and wince. “In a way, that was a factor as well.”
Half expecting a sympathetic reply, you find yourself rolling your eyes and laughing because Atsumu suddenly yells, “Bingo!” and flicks your forehead.
He faces you and holds his hands up, “Hey, we all got a reason to do stuff so I ain’t gonna judge ya’.”
You smile and lean against his shoulder because you know he’s sincere.
“Atsumu?” you call out.
“Yeah?” he replies as he turns his head looking at you.
The red of the flames flicker as a glassy reflection against the brown in his eyes and your thoughts become jumbled for a second.
“If I find out you’re here because you got dumped I’m never letting you live it down.”
His eyes crinkle along with his laugh and you find yourself missing the pools of brown, but the echo of his laugh resonates clear in your ears as compensation so you decide you’re satiated.
“I swear I just got bored back home!”
Atsumu spends the next few hours by telling you stories and giving you soft smiles, and you don’t notice the absence of Tetsurou’s message that night.
-
On the afternoon after some weeks more, Atsumu comes to you by knocking at your door at five in the afternoon (which doesn’t even surprise you at this point), demanding you put on swimwear because he was going to teach you how to swim. At first, you stare at him with a blank look—wherein he stares at you right back with equal intensity, so after some time, you sigh and shoo him out, telling him you’ll meet him outside after you get ready.
After tugging on some shorts and a bikini top, you walk outside and glance around looking for the telltale blonde of Atsumu’s head. It doesn’t really surprise you when you hear your name being hollered from some distance, so as you look to the direction of the water—you see Atsumu waving his arms wildly, already waist deep out in sea.
The water was warm, at least, and you carefully wade in the water towards Atsumu. He lets you grab his arms to help you find balance against the waves knocking against you.
“You know you’re going to fail if you try to teach me right?” you say.
“Just needed an excuse to get you in the water,” he chuckles.
You respond by splashing him with a handful of water. And somewhere in between splashes of water and playful banter, you find yourself wading chest deep into warm water, Atsumu’s arms acting as your anchor against the push and pull of the waves. The two of you stay like that for some time and you allow the woosh of the water and distant sounds of the children on shore fill the silence.
“Golden hour’s almost up, ‘Tsumu, we should go back.” you say after some time.
He stands behind you and leans down a bit, then surprises you as he wraps his arms around you, pulling your back to his chest. Your breath hitches, then his voice sounds low near your ear, “Look at the sky.”
And so you do. The sky in front of you lights itself in bursting shades of oranges, reds, and touches of violets. You turn your face to the side but stop because you see Atsumu staring at you, the expression on his face soft.
“Pretty, ain’t it?” his lips part to say, and you nod because you see licks of the sky’s painting reflected in the glassy brown pools of Atsumu’s eyes.
He blinks and smiles in a softer way that only the corners crinkle up, and you don’t notice how your hand eventually found its way to wrap around his because you’re gravitating towards him—face angling closer until you felt his lips press against your forehead.
“Did you know,” you begin, “when you feel deja vu that means the universe is telling you you’re going down the right path?”
Atsumu looks as you, “Does this feel familiar?”
“In a way,” you respond and smile.
Turning to face him, Atsumu’s hands cradle yours as he presses his lips towards the side of your lips, then back to the side of your head feeling him smiling into the kiss. “You’re somethin’ else, (y/n).”
You look at him wearing a smile mirroring his, “Something good I hope.”
It’s something good, you decide later that night as you settle in bed after dinner with Atsumu. The past few hours flew by in a mirage of good conversation, light hearted jokes and even more eye crinkling smiles from Atsumu.
Settling into the comforter, you grab your laptop just in time as Tetsurou’s face pops up on screen, requesting a video call. Propping yourself up on your elbows, you hit the accept button and wave hello as Tetsuou’s face appears on the screen. He holds a can of beer as a greeting and leans forward. His eyes look glassy.
“(Y/n)..” His voice trails off before slowly continuing, “—how are you?”
You don’t notice his tone from the high you’re still feeling from the day so you beam at him, “I’m good! Atsumu and I are really hitting it off! You’d love him Tetsu!”
He stares at you through the webcam and then he sighs deep. Finally catching a drift of the atmosphere he’s giving off, you watch him crack another beer open and slowly speak, “You okay? Did something happen?”
He sets the can down at the table in front of him and places his face in his hands. You notice the new ink around his forearms. “I miss you, (y/n).”
“I’ll be home next week, Tetsu,” you say
“I—“ he pauses to look up at you with glassy eyes, “I think we should give us a try.”
Your heart clenches. “Tetsurou, you’re drunk. We can talk when I get home.” He shakes his head, and his movement is a little sluggish, so you continue to speak before he could, “I saw the photo your ex posted earlier. You’re still not okay, Tetsu.”
He leans back to his chair with a little force, “And suddenly you are? After being in love with me for eight years, (y/n), you expect me to believe that you’re suddenly okay? Bullshit.”
Your face grimaces, and you feel anger bubble up, the emotion seeping into your words, “I don’t think you’re ever going to go away, Tetsurou. For years I watched you fall in and out of love with someone who was never me. I’m not suddenly okay but I accepted that this—“ you pause to gesture between the two of you, “—isn’t going to happen and I’m moving on. I watched you when you were at your happiest and I deserve that too, Tetsu. I deserve to be at my happiest whether it be by myself or with Atsu-“
“We can try, (y/n),” he cuts you off softly.
“But I don’t deserve someone who isn’t sure about me,” you reply.
And maybe it’s the liquid confidence that riles him up, but he suddenly straightens his back and looks at you with the same glare you stare at him with, “And are you sure about Atsumu? You told me none of us are saints, (y/n), you’re not better off than I am here.”
You open your mouth, but the silence remains; the atmosphere suddenly heavy.
Then Tetsurou slumps before he he speaks, “(Y/n), I—“
“It’s okay, Kuroo,” you watch as he winces at his surname, “It’s late and I really want to get some sleep. You should too. Take care.”
You catch the last second of him parting his lips at an attempt to reply before you promptly ended the call and shut off your laptop.
His words ring in your ear the entire night, and you think of Atsumu the entire night. You watch the second hand of the clock on your bedside table tick slowly. Your hand comes to rest against your eyes as you try to let sleep pull you in.
You think of Tetsurou who looked at you with glassy eyes that told you all the reasons why his heart was still hurting, then you think of Atsumu—of how the sunset looked better reflected in his eyes than it did painted across the sky.
“I really hope this is something good,” you echo your words from earlier as you let sleep finally succumb into slumber.
-
The night before your flight, Atsumu seats you outside for a bonfire, with the same blankets, snacks, and hoodie fitted around you. The first few hours he jokes about little stories that happened throughout his life and listens patiently when you’d share a snippet of yours.
At this point, you weren’t sure where the two of you stood. You look at him from the corner of your eye as he blows against an extremely burnt marshmallow before sheepishly offering the stick to you.
“When we’re back in Japan I’m lettin’ ya taste ‘Samu’s cookin’ to make up for this I swear.”
You lean your head against his arm and blow on the charred marshmallow, “Have you decided when you’re coming back?”
“Yes, but I’m not tellin ya,” Atsumu chuckles.
“What!” You exclaim, suddenly sitting up, “You already have a ticket?”
“That’s also a secret, doll.”
You sigh and move to lightly punch his shoulder, but instead, he catches your hand midway and envelops it in his own. Atsumu looks at the tattoo on your wrist peeking out, so tentatively, he pushes down the sleeve and looks at it.
“Baby’s breath means eternal love, right?” he asks, voice hushed.
“I’m surprised a big, buff, man like you knows,” you reply.
“Oi, big buff men can be sentimental too,” Atsumu quips.
“(Y/n),” he begins then looks at you in a way that suddenly has your stomach churning, “Should we give us a go at this?”
He asks the same question as Tetsurou did a few nights back and your head is swimming. Tetsurou’s words muddle the thoughts in your head as you turn to face Atsumu who is looking at you with eyes that always held the same softness that remained unchanged from two months ago.
Is this even fair for Atsumu? is the thought that you circle around.
“I don’t want to give you only half of me, ‘Tsumu,” you cradle his cheek in your palm and your heart stirs when he leans in.
“You’re too good for me,” you confess.
He closes his eyes and you find yourself missing the dancing specks of scarlet flames reflected in his orbs.
“You’re killin’ me, doll,” he sighs, his face still warm against your palm. Atsumu’s hand trails up and cups your hand that’s still flush against his cheek.
“Is this the part where we say we’re the right people who met at the wrong time?” he jokes quietly. Atsumu looks at you with a smile contrasting against the somber expression in his face, and you feel your heart clench.
Your thoughts momentarily flicker back to the night you talked to Tetsurou in your balcony some months ago and remember the feeling of déjà vu hinting that you were heading in the right direction with your decision.
Staring back at him, you look at your own reflection in darkened pools of brown and don’t feel déjà vu’s familiar push. Atsumu’s other hand trails up your face and his thumb rubs against your cheek. You stay silent when he sighs again and your heart clenches in the way that hurts, and your brain scrambles for a reason why.
Atsumu angles your hand in a way that lets him press a kiss to the tattoo on your wrist. “Hope ya heal in time, (y/n).”
You’re still quiet, thoughts still muddled as your rationality wrestles to string words to convey to Atsumu. “We can stay in contact, ‘Tsumu. I still want you to be in my life,” you slowly say.
“I don’t wanna be hurtin’ you while you’re still tryin’ to find yourself,” he says, and you nod. Déjà vu never comes and your heart still aches.
And your heart remains heavy as the two of you stand up to retreat for the night. Against the door of your room you look at him and press a kiss on his cheek. He smiles at you.
“Well, I guess,” you initiate, “see you around?”
He smiles and crosses the short distance between the two of you, then presses a chaste kiss on your forehead. “If the universe wills it, doll.”
The feeling of déjà vu is absent for the rest of the night.
-
After the first few days of your arrival back in Japan, you stay in your apartment cursing the winter. This particular winter was a little harsh for Tokyo and the sudden temperature change you needed to adjust to didn’t help with your traitor immune system. Kenma had waited for you at the arrival area of the airport instead of Tetsurou that day. Then again, you weren’t complaining—you didn’t have any plans to talk to him immediately after coming back home.
You didn’t need to report back to your job until the next week so the first few days, you loitered around your apartment mindlessly passing the time. Some mornings, you’d drag a chair by the balcony and sip your morning coffee. The snow accumulating on the rails and the gloomy morning light was a far cry from the little island you explored with Atsumu back in the Philippines, but your thoughts still ghosted around him from time to time.
The morning you left for the airport, he slept in, but that didn’t stop you from leaving a sticky note in his front door with your contact details neatly printed in the paper. Throughout your day, your eyes constantly flickered to sneak glimpses at your phone’s notification bar, but there was never an unknown number. So you sighed, and instead scrolled through the photos you managed to capture with him. The image of Atsumu stared back at you through the screen, expression beaming with unfiltered happiness and you find yourself smiling along every time.
A knock on your door one morning brings you out of your haze. Before you could look through the peep hole, another knock comes and then a voice, “Ah, (y/n), I think you’re home now,” your hand on the door knob loosens, “It’s Tetsurou. Can we please talk?”
You must have stayed quiet too long because he speaks again, “I got you donuts.”
And you sigh, because he’s right, the two of you need to talk. But you still tell yourself you’re only opening the door because it’s six in the morning and you can’t be bothered to make breakfast so the donuts are the only reason you’re letting him in.
-
Tetsurou sits on the opposite side of the dining table gripping the handle of his mug with one hand before he clears his throat and looks at you, “I’m sorry.”
“Tetsurou,” you begin, “You’re someone that I don’t think will ever leave my system.” His eyes are a little clearer now that you return his stare. “You’re still the person who grew up with me even if time difference existed you know. You’ve had so many roles in my life and that’s never going to change.”
He looks at you, suddenly looking like a teenager again. His golden eyes stare at you and gleam of something unspoken. “I think somewhere along the years I really did fall in love with you, (y/n). And it just sucks how we never met at the same page. I really do love you, (y/n).”
“Maybe in the next life, Tetsu,” you say suddenly choked up. “We both deserve-“
“A fresh start.” He cuts you off, smiling. “A fresh start.” You affirm.
Before you knew it, Tetsurou rolls his sleeve to his elbows and angles his arm showing you a small outline of the sun peeking out behind some buildings. You look at him just in time for his explanation, “It’s not as sentimental as your baby’s breath tattoo, but sunrises remind me of you.”
You feel your eyes water when you look at the amber of his eyes growing glassier, “You got a tattoo that reminds you of me?”
“You’ve always been a constant in my life, (y/n). I shared so many sunrises with you. And I mean it when I say that I want you to find what makes you happy.” He tells you as you smile and lean forward, tracing the lining of his tattoo. The moment feels a little like déjà vu that doesn’t disappear when Tetsurou speaking again, “I love you enough to realize that kind of happiness won’t be with me, (y/n).”
He looks at you and everything feels so familiar. You choke out a sob that sounded a little like a laugh and Tetsurou does the same.
“You’re never getting rid of me, you lunatic,” you say, and Tetsurou laughs—eyes glassy from the pricks of tears fighting to slide down his cheeks. “We’re okay, right?” He asks you. And you nod, because your heart constricts in a way that doesn’t hurt, the knot in your stomach gone and Tetsurou looking so beautiful from the morning light that filtered in feels so familiar.
“Always, Tetsu.”
And after some moments of comfortable silence, he looks to the window on his left saying, “So, surfer dude slash volleyball player, huh? I think you got a type going on, (y/n).”
You roll your eyes and finally grab a donut from the box. “Yeah.”
Tetsurou chuckles, “Tell me about him. He’s the first guy who makes you look dopey in love.” So you smile and look out the window thinking about the boy who spoke of the little moments and showed you worlds under the sun and feel your heart mellow to a gentle beat, “He’s something good.”
-
Atsumu’s number doesn’t show up on your phone for the next month, but you try to keep yourself from doing your own research, or as Tetsurou pointed out, stalking, for his presence in social media. If he didn’t want to be found, you’d just leave him to it.
Tetsurou sits across from you at the arrival gate in Haneda airport later that month, scrolling through his phone and mumbling curses because Bokuto, his friend, had told him the wrong time for his arrival and won’t be arriving until a few hours later. Instead of driving back home, wasting gas, and sitting through traffic, you suggest to pass the time at a café instead.
“I swear to god, (y/n), remind me to end my friendship with him the second he lands,” Tetsurou huffs from across you.
“You’re being dramatic again,” You roll your eyes, laughing.
“He’s gonna be here in a bit,” you pause and stand up, grabbing your phone, “I’ll go check the board so stay here.”
“Since you left your wallet here, I’m treating myself to another frapp, thanks (y/n)!” you hear him call from behind you, so you turn to flick him off as you keep walking.
-
Looking at the board above the gate, your eyes scan to look for information regarding Bokuto’s flight. Under said flight, you smile looking at SIARGAO listed within the board. Briefly, your thought wonders off to Atsumu; you hoped he was doing well.
A flow of people begin to trail out of the gate and into the lobby. Assuming that it must be from Bokuto’s flight, you stand on your tip toes from your little corner to look for the telltale monochromatic palette of his hair.
Grabbing your phone, you hastily press call to Tetsurou’s contact name, to which he answers with a drawled out “Heeelllloo?” along with an exaggerated slurp to the Frappuccino he bought with your card.
You open your mouth to tell him to come over, except that you don’t because standing a few meters in front of you is a familiar blonde.
From the phone in your ear, you hear Tetsurou call your name, so through the haze in your thoughts, you mumble a quick “Never mind.” and hang up. You don’t think Atsumu notices you just yet because he’s pulled his luggage to the side, a little closer to you this time, and pulled out his phone to what you could guess was him texting somebody.
You don’t speak for the first few beats of silence because, holy shit this is fanfiction material—is this actually happening? Eventually he pockets his phone and looks around, before his eyes spots you, who at this point, is still openly gawking at him some distance away.
Then three things happen in succession; first, Atsumu’s eyes widen, second, he blinks really fast, and then finally, third, cracks a smile.
And as soon as his smile pushes the crinkle in his eyes, you feel yourself release the breath you’ve unconsciously held in. He pushes his luggage with him as he walks towards you, hand held up in greeting and the smile still plastered wide on his face.
“Yo,” he says and your heart bursts with your reply that came out a little more breathless than you’d expected, “Hi.”
-
Tetsurou stands some distance away from the two of you, holding your wallet and his Frappuccino. He spots the blonde mop of head you’re staring at, really you should chill out (he thinks), and immediately recognizes his features as Miya Atsumu, the same guy who’s been a part of your daily margarita selfie for the two months you were in the Philippines.
The bedhead watches you walk towards Atsumu, and he to you before you both met somewhat in the middle, then looks at you, finding himself smile because of how happy you looked. He stands in his spot and can’t help but feel some sort of déjà vu as he stops himself from approaching the two of you. His heart, he realizes, clenches in a way that sort of hurts but sort of doesn’t, but because this is the first time looking at you with a smile so unabashed, he settles with the thought that because he loves you—you deserve nothing short of the happiness you’re feeling now.
And you can’t help but feel the same as Atsumu laughs out a comment about how the universe must really want the two of you together. His arms circle your figure after exchanging a few pleasantries and inside jokes and you smile into the crook of his neck.
“This feels a little like that déjà vu thing ya talked about before, ya know.” He mumbles. And for the brief moment you see Tetsurou’s text on the screen of your phone reading, “whipped.”, you laugh in a way that has you feeling dizzy and light. You feel like you could cry when Atsumu kisses the side of your head, because this moment feels so familiar.
Atsumu feels so familiar. So when you break the embrace and look at the reflection of your watering eyes in the warm pools of his, more than ever, you were sure that this is exactly where the gods meant for you to be.

More Divaz confos
Mod: Round two of these, previously: link. There’s some interesting customer reviews in this batch (5 and 8) which may be useful to readers.
1.Vic3mage "the secret bjdivaz vip group is just pictures of boxes coming in and going out". Yeah, between the bitching about d0llshe, asking people to post on doa for them, dunking on ex-customers, posting pics of random doll parts that they can't identify which doll they're supposed to go with, whining about how little money they make, whining when ppl e-mail them, whining. Yeah, other than that it's just boxes, and alpacas u can buy off amazon anyway lol.

2.The butthurt users crying and guilttripping under every Divaz confession who have never been seen before elsewhere on this blog are extremely unsuspicious and unproblematic and definitely unconnected to Divaz and unbiased in every possible way

3.idk shit abt bjd1vas but v1cemage i can absolutely tell you the shit about ch0o is 100% accurate, fucker's got a long, long history of being an awful little man that stretches well beyond his involvement in the doll community. between the two i'd still trust bjd1vas over ch00 ch00 the fool any day!

4.The Z3st and Div4s thing is really silly and both entities were being shady but did they really have to take the DZ waiting room down with them? :( He had even made a separate thread about it......

5. RE: BJD Divaz
I’ve been a customer of BJD Divaz since they first started, when it was only run by Chart3rline. I even contacted other BJD companies trying to persuade them to work with Divaz as their US representative. Most declined because they didnt like D's commission fee, but I was able to persuade a few of them.
I asked them to purchase a doll off DOA because I couldnt afford the asking price, and while they did, I found out later that instead of agreeing to purchase the seller's price, they negotiated the price to be lower. This significantly cheaper price was not passed down to me. I paid the full price +the commission fee based on that full price. I am disappointed I was not told this. This is when I stopped viewing them as a "friend" and instead, as a business. I dont hold this against them, it’s context to what Im going to say later.
I’ve stopped purchasing from D after my recent order from them. This company usually takes 3 or less months to make a doll. I’ve ordered the doll from D and it took 11 months. They let me know it arrived to them in March and that it will be shipped soon, except it only shipped on July, and only after I sent them several "reminder" emails. Before people in the comments try to put the blame on me for not sending a reminder soon, please keep in mind that I acknowledged the email in March and confirmed everything and they keep stressing to not send them emails because they are busy, I’ve emailed once every month since. I’ve since switched to ACBJD and Ive been happy with communication and the dolls ordered. I imagine ACBJD gets the same amount of emails, but they dont berate their customers if they email more than once.
I regret when people wanted a D0llshe, but not deal with him, I always recommended D. I would warn people of ordering directly and instead go through D. They assured buyers they would be handling communication and all the efforts so they wouldnt worry, except they didn’t. A person that I’ve recommended D to, who surpassed 2 years, keeps messaging me for help because D wouldnt reply to their emails. She is respectful, sweet and a timid person, not a Karen. This person, emailed D without a reply so would email a week later, only to be told that their email would be pushed down to the bottom if emailed again. No response, so she goes to FB and IG, who both tell her to email because they arent the person running orders. Finally got a response that they would get their refund, after D0llshe sends D's payment, but minus the PP fees. 3 months later and theres no refund, only a promise of them getting it later. Why is the customer missing out on fees when they have no doll? Customer emails d0llshe and he says he cant offer refund, because they didn’t order through them, which is understandable, but when all options are out for a customer, do you blame them for chargebacks?
If anyone files a chargeback, D will be blacklisting them from every company they rep, as in blacklisting you from buying direct from those companies. I urge everyone who has negative experiences with D to email the companies they rep instead of venting on confession blogs, and writing your experiences on social media. Make it count and send letters to the companies they represent, and please provide proof because they will try to make you out to be a liar.
Speaking of, they made vague posts on cl0ver singing for charging paypal fees, and that they offer guarantees as an official dealer, except when offering refunds, to non delivered products I might add, they are keeping the fees, and offered no help with d0llshe, even before they ended their dealership with them. Someone on DOA was told to not email them unless the wait time surpassed 1.5 years. They are even so petty that they post screenshots with the full name and address (dox) of the customer on purpose and then delete it out a day later as if they just realized their "mistake".
Before you try to make excuses for them about the fires, keep in mind, I am dealing with a business. The lower price negotiation with the DOA sale, I am in no way obligated to give them a pass or treat them as a friend when they made it clear that our relationship is strictly business. Their issues, are not my issues. D0lk got dragged for not shipping in time, others, including artisans, got dragged for being so late with communication and sending back refunds for cancelled orders. Why does D get to be exempt?
The supporters are the worst part of this, because of instead of being honest so D can improve, they support them for being "real". For example, look how micemage words it, to make it seem like this criticism is from one person, when there are people on addicts who didn’t have good experience. Check the bjd dealers tag here, you will see the supporters in the comments going off on any and all criticism of D. Some have sane comments, but the majority are cult like and try to identify the person venting as if it’s one person. Addicts deletes threads with criticism asking people to instead direct it to their feedback group; which lets be honest, no one is going to do because its "not that bad", and most dont want to join a new group, which is mostly dead.
This is my first and last confession on D, I’ve emailed each company they rep and told them my experience as well as contacting the 3 month wait company, with screenshots of my order, how they handled it, and the excuse they used to put blame on the company for being so late (package arrived march to D, 4 months to be shipped is on D, not the company). I’m not using company or order details because I know they are petty enough to try to identify me and publicly shame me like they have to others. This and the threat of suing is why not many people like to go public with their experience. They just keep feedback neutral, move on and never deal with again.

6. Listen, I can't take you seriously in regards to BJD!vas because you're posting on a confession blog. If you were serious, you would have posted in buyer beware groups, DoA reviews or the board to get things resolved, or you would have made a complaint to the BBB. And your language makes you come off more as someone with an agenda rather than someone who is trying to warn people. If shipping is the issue, stop buying with standard shipping and pay the extra price for express shipping. I saw one of you complain that it sat with them for 20 days; that's probably because you're not the only one and they more than likely have a queue to check and then ship out. Do mistakes happen? Yes, because we're human. I've been in this hobby for a few years now and it seems like most people know you're going to have to wait, sometimes even outside the expected wait time. And shipping something as big as a doll is a timely endeavor. I shouldn't have to say that.
My point is simply to stop complaining on an confession board and either take it to the places previously mentioned. Posting here behind the anonymous mask makes you sound like a petulant child who didn't get their way right away.

7.My only issue with BJD Divaz is how I never get any updates. Every email, they tell me to join their facebook page for status updates. I dont have a FB and I dont want to create one. I bought my doll through their website, updates should be posted on their website, or they could send me an email. That isnt asking much.

8. Since there seems to be a lot of either "completely negative everything sucks" or "everything was sunshine and rainbows" confessions about bjd!vaz I thought I'd chime in with a neutral review.
PROS
-They were always polite and professional in their emails, and gave me very detailed answers to my questions.
-I got exactly what I ordered, so no mix ups or missing parts or anything like that.
-I think them being forthcoming about personal issues (only one person on staff, illness, the flooding isue etc.) on social media is good, since it keeps customers updated as to why there might be delays.
-If you live in the US their shipping is very reasonable.
CONS
-Reply times were varied. Sometimes it could take over a week, sometimes a couple hours.
-My order took about 10mo which, when comparing to other people who ordered through the same company around the same time, was about 3x as long as if I bought it direct and 2x as long if I had gone through a different dealer. I get some of the waiting time is out of their control, but it was kind of ridiculous.
-They dont necessarily ship the same day they send you a tracking number. I wish they said something like, "Here's your tracking number, our pickup is Xday so it should start moving after that" just so I could be aware.
All in all no major complaints. I got my doll and all that. Their lone employee is clearly overwhelmed. I hope they hire another person, if only to give the one a break.
Truthfully, I most likely won't buy through them again. I'd rather pay the international shipping and go direct, than deal with the extensive wait time. I'd still recommend them to someone looking for a very long layaway, though. I paid in full, but if I had a 12mo layaway I would've never known they weren't ready to ship my doll until month 10.

Hello, first and foremost I'd like to say that I'm a big fan of your writing - you really helped fill in that empty void that was left behind in my heart after I finished Pokemon Black all those years ago and fell in love with Ferrishwheelshipping. Your stories really lit up my life then.
Secondly, I have a problem and really wanted to ask your advice about it - I recently became invested in Legends: Arceus and somehow came out of it liking the idea of Volo x Akari, for a lot of reasons, but basically because I don't think Volo is entirely as evil as parts of the fanbase make him out to be, I think he has light in his heart and deserves a second chance.
I mean he has not one, not two, but THREE friendship evolutions, all three evolving from baby Pokemon, and during a time when Pokemon and humans were at odds with each other. And has a photo of himself and his egg baby.
(And I read there's a possibility that Giratina might have had some influence on him going totally bonkers)
Anyways, I've been a longtime fan of Pokemon and your work, and I've written several stories before, but this is the first time I've wanted to write a Pokemon fic this badly - a Volokari story (not sure what their shipping name is yet). But I'm worried about receiving backlash because in my story Akari (who is actually Hikari) is an adult when she's whisked away to Hisui, and I don't want to receive hate messages over something that's supposed to be emotional and fun.
But at the same time, I really, REALLY want to write this story sometime, how Arceus not only brought Akari to Hisui to save the land, but also Volo, and how the two hold Cynthia's existence in the future in their hands...
But I'm so sensitive, especially these days, I don't think I'd know what to do if I received hate messages over something I worked so hard on and put all my soul into, especially when those messages are calling me terrible things that make me feel like I should be burned at the stake.
hi hi!
first of all. omg. aaaaa thank u! im happy to u know love my fws esp my fws fics aaaaaaa all the stuff ive written in the past are quite dear to me so its nice to know people enjoy wm
second, regarding your problem, i solely believe in Write For Yourself. make your own food. cook your own feast. make the characters alive through your eyes for YOUR viewing pleasure. i know getting validation from others is great but it also risks the unnecessary backlash from ppl we never asked opinions from. so what i can say is start off by writinf for yourself. trust me. years later im still in a soulsilver n ferriswheel rut n all the fics ive written in the past are for my own benefit. it helps on the long run.
if u hv ao3 u can post on ao3 w proper tags! usually the readers are nicer coz it takes actually googling and filtering to find what one wants. no asshole is tht desperate to do so just to spread hate.
if not u can post here too! if youre still nervous, switch off replies or turn anon off. theyll be some useless bastards once or twice unfortunately but think of it this way: your life is way more vast, way more important and these useless things are barely worth your time or notice.
it might sting to get one. bt trust me, there are SO many people who support n love u. outside and inside the internet.
so i hope youre passionate enough to write vlkr! i knw im still super interested in them n years of doing what i love make me so desensitized by some backlash from people i couldnt care less coz the internet is just a small part of my big big world lol

LIVVY BLACKTHORN:

any video he posts of Mina goes viral
sometimes he posts some really weird stuff that has everyone laughing so hard irl (@/benoftheweek)
he NEVER thirst traps but still gets a lot of those weird sexual fairy comments on his posts (iykyk)
TO BE CLEAR I MEAN THE FAIRY EMOJI ONES NOTHING TO DO WITH HIM BEING FAE
reacts to the comments with a video of him just staring at the screen with the “oh to see without my eyes” or “im just sixteen” audio going on in the background which only encourages them to make more weird comments
anyways everyone loves him
any of his povs are pure jokes meant to make fun of pov’ers
posts maybe one serious tiktok every 5 months that talks about being respectful and using your platform for good
“i miss old tiktok”
posts a lot of random videos of Ty where, again, all the comments are shipping them except even more so on his account because everyone can see his heart eyes for Ty
collabs with Dru a lot and does a bunch of duets of her videos
everyone loves him bye
DRU BLACKTHORN
SO many memes
she deletes any hate in her comments bc she honestly doesnt care to respond to them and doesn’t need that kind of negativity in her life
but one time she got a “the f in women stands for funny” comment and she WENT OFF
does really dark povs sometimes that are really interesting
CLOWN MAKEUP + SCARY CLOWN TIKTOKS ( think @/avani ‘s clown make up posts

doesn’t post that often but is super popular
like maybe 1.5M followers
really passionate about systematic racism
HATES all those privileged white boys using the “this is america” audio to pretend they’re oppressed ( this is a may 2020 thing so it probably wont make sense to anyone who sees this after lmao)
POSTS A LOT OF THIRST TRAPS LMAO
also posts lots of videos that’s just him yelling about stuff but they’re really entertaining to watch ( like that guy sebastian @/sauceyogranny)
everyone thinks he’s super hot he always shows up in those “hottest boys on tiktok” videos except sometimes he’s just the token POC boy and it makes him mad :(
DIEGO ROSALES
HIS ACCOUNT IS SO PRACTICAL LMAO
lots of tips
“what to do if you’re trapped in the desert” “what to do if you’re kidnapped and stuck in the trunk”
doesnt reply to comments EVER unless it’s to clarify a point he made in the video or answer a question
has like 200k

many many anons under the cut bc i didn’t want anyone to feel like i was ignoring them and i wanted to respond to u all! warning for small text too, it was so long i wanted to make it look smaller fgbnjkgkjn
Anonymous asked: NAT... you can write WHATEVER you want! It's your blog, and I hope that rude anons can learn to respect that. I used to be on your blog just for jjba content too, so when you started getting into jjk I was indifferent but eventually you dragged me into jjk so hard!! I already like bnha, so seeing you write for it only made me happier! I hope that you continue to write whatever make YOU happy:) ❤and yes, longer fics certainly doesnt mean it's better, quality over quantity
ahh i’m happy that you are here for all three!! i always feel so accomplished when someone is like ‘your constant screaming made me think about jjk <3′. all three of the fandoms are fairly popular and i tag everything v carefully so i hope people who do use the filtering find that useful!!!
Anonymous asked: Goodness gracious. People really be out there thinking they're entitled to dictating what kind of content you should be making
i think part of it might be that i do take requests so people feel like they have like . . . a certain right to certain kinds of my content? i take requests mostly bc they keep me motivated, i like making content for ppl who cant find what they want bc i’ve Been There, but maybe people think i am a pushover? idk i am just trying to have a good time!!!
Anonymous asked: Hi. I only started following you a few days ago but please ignore that rude anon. People are so fucking entitled towards writers it's insane. I recently had someone throw a fit for "spoiling" something in my fanfic, even though the fic was about a manga-exclusive character, so what did they expect?? Overall I've really enjoyed your writing so random assholes coming to guilt you is just a shitty thing that happens. Keep going with what you wanna do.
ah gosh anon i’m sorry about that :(. i’m always super careful tagging spoilers and stuff but like, if someone clicks on a fic about say, naoya or the steel ball run boys and is mad that i spoil something they havent found out yet . . . yeah thats on them fgbnkjgfkjn
Anonymous asked: That...that anon had the nerve to say "we". The fuck?! No no no anon, YOU'RE the only one talking and you're just talking for yourself, don't you dare try and lump us other anons/followers up with you to make yourself look like you're right. We love you nat and we appreciate you. It's your blog, you're allowed to write about whoever and whatever. This brain dead anon just needs to either go read someone else if they're that salty or write their own stuff if they're that impatient.
gosh i WISH some of my mad anons would just write their own stuff honestly. idk if this anon thought they were talking for everybody but i guess they expected anons to agree with them and not be mad at them. i appreciate u anon ;_;
Anonymous asked: Just want to say that ily and you’re one of the best jojo fanfic writers in my opinion 💗 I don’t think youre half assing jojo fics and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with you being multi fandom. A lot of jojo blogs have started posting about jjk so it’s not as if you’re the only one. I’m not sure why you get hate like this but I think it’s just because you’re one of the popular writers and that makes people bitter for whatever reason. Keep being you and posting about the things that make you happy 💕
honestly after so long writing for jojo - i’ve written well over 200 jojo reader insert fics - sometimes it feels like i’m retreading stuff, and that’s when i take a break bc i dont wanna half-ass stuff!!! i love all of my fellow jojo friends who are posting about jjk too, i appreciate them <3.
Anonymous asked: Hey my dude, ur writing has really grown since the jojo days and its better and awesome seeing u become happier to branch off and write in different fandoms 🤌🤌 those stupid anons are just boring farts that couldnt be bothered making their own content 😤😤 is it possible to block them to ease ur mind?
hello anon!! i run a statcounter for IPs but it doesnt always work for ppl who access through the tumblr app, i don’t think; a lot of the anon hate i get i just use the ‘block’ option, but last night got to me because i’ve been getting that kind of writer a lot which is . . . a bad look for the jojo fandom who are, as a whole from the ones i’ve interacted with, lovely!!! <3
Anonymous asked: People often forget, the person behind art or writing, is just another regular fan. You deserve to be happy with what you create and we should be thankful you share your talent with us. You also have right to change your main interests, and it's very normal thing. Jojo is one of the MANY things that you write for and all you get from that is a like or share. Its not your job. It's your fun thing to do, in spare time. You haven't betrayed anybody. That person was just rude, selfish and bored.
i am just a person doing my best!!! anime fanfic is one of many interests i have and i already devote a lot of time to it honestly, i love when people tell me they’ve enjoyed something i made bc it makes it feel worthwhile but equally it gets to me a lot when people are rude because i am usually trying my hardest.
Anonymous asked: Bro that jjba anon... the entitlement🤮 Fam, you write whatever you want to write😤 -Saturday
dfnjbkjnkgf i find most fic readers are NOT entitled at all and are just grateful but when they are . . . oof.
Anonymous asked: It's funny how people throw "we got you popular" and they think you start apologize and cry. Your writing and passion made you gain few numbers on a follow counter, nothing more. I think I'm too old for stuff like this, we are nothing more, but +1 on a number scale. You ow us nothing, we ow you nothing. Popular... Funny word. You just write for fun of it, fake scenarios about someone's manga characters. It's not that deep. Have fun and don't listen to people like this. I knew it's not that easy, but they are really not that important as they think they are.
extremely fun fact for people who think ‘popularity’ is important to me: i would 100% rather have 10 people who regularly comment, reblog my fics with tags and interact with me than 100 people who read my fic and either leave a like or simply move on. i think this is true for the VAST MAJORITY of writers tbh. i’m glad that people think i am a ‘popular’ blog (i am not in the grand scheme of things, one of my ex-best friends used to run a kpop reader insert blog with like 30,000 followers) bc it gives me an ego boost lmao, but i really just want people to read and enjoy the stuff i write!!!
Anonymous asked: I followed you a while ago for jojo and when my friends started getting into jjk i was like...eh sounds like work...but now that I see you writing for it I feel really motivated to get into it!!! I really enjoy your writing and I want to be able to read the new stuff too!
ah anon i really hope you like it!!! it’s only one season rn if u wanna watch the anime and there isn’t too much of the manga to catch up on either but it is a lot of fun and it’s nice to be in a fandom that’s like, excited about a new chapter and new plot developments every week!
Anonymous asked: Pls dont reply if u dont want to! <3 I'm not sure if this will be of any help to you or not but this is the kind of thing that often helps me and is the only way I know to try comfort others so I wanted to give it a go~
Now im not gonna say 'dont feel bad pls' bc I know that's not really useful but what I do think is useful is just discussing why that anon and many others feel the need to respond that way. As someone who follows a lot of writing blogs myself and have done for a long time, i've seen my handful of favourite writers come and go for different reasons, lose motivation for a while, gain motivation for a while, go from multi to single fandom, or single fandom to multi. Often times as a reader it can be upsetting when things change but it's also important as a reader to understand that some things aren't in anyone's control, I can't control what my favourite writers become a fan of or lose interest of, I can't control things in their personal lives that may motivate or demotivate them to write, but what I can do is support them as long as they're active, and if they move on to do things i'm no longer interested in or i'm the one that changed interests, rather than being upset that they're evolving to do other things or that they're not evolving with me, I think it's important that I still feel thankful for the works that I enjoyed while we were still on the same page and this is how I personally deal with those negative feelings. I think the anons that lash out at you probably just dont know what to do with themselves, maybe they got attached to your works while you were still only a jjba blog and now that you're evolving they're upset, while I understand how they feel, they're going the completely wrong way about it. I've learned to take these things and turn them into something positive for myself or at least something bittersweet that I can move on from but the anons that lash out at you for whatever reason probably haven't learned this yet. Maybe it's because i've moved on and changed interests a lot myself that I know how these things go for both writers and readers but those anons maybe haven't experienced this as much so they dont know what to do with themselves other than complain that you've changed and throw insults at you in an attempt to get you to revert back. None of this is because of the quality of your writing like they want you to believe, it's literally just because you've evolved and while some of your old followers might not like the new content for no reason other than it not being their cup of tea, it's definitely not regressed at all. You are pumping out a lot of content right now but every single thing i've read has just been better than the last. Things that really stand out to me is how well you get characterisation down to a T and all of your dialogue is just on point and from the pov of a reader I think those things seem the hardest to get right so I am such a huge fan of your stuff at the moment and I can tell you're really putting so much thought and care into each and every fic no matter how fast you're producing it, I think the fact that you're also proud of what you're writing at the moment really shines through as well and I just adore the passion that radiates from every completed request as well as in the responses for the subsequent thirsts resulting from these works that appear in your ask box later (I know i've sent quite a few by now~)
Just to be clear i'm not defending those anons in any way, while I can understand what they might be feeling/why they're reacting in the way they are I still believe it's just so immature to be hateful online point blank. Even during a time where I still got upset with writers if they started doing something else I still never targeted that negativity directly to the writer and sending rude or hateful comments whether on anon or not never something i'd stooped low enough to do even when I still had an immature way of thinking, however, I hope that it might make it a little easier to brush them off if we try and understand what they're really upset about, and that they're just putting the blame for their negative feelings onto the wrong thing rather than coming to terms with change themselves.
hello anon!! i appreciate the long message. i do feel bad for people who have no interest in what i’m currently producing and i get that they feel upset about it; i’ve watched a lot of fellow jojo writers move on completely or just stop posting, honestly. this kind of thing is why i was so intense about asking people if it would be better if i made a separate blog but the resounding answer seemed to be ‘i’m just vibing with whatever happens and i’ll block tags as needed’.
i often return to works by my favourite reader-insert writers who no longer write for the fandoms i like (and i read stuff bc it sounds interesting or i trust the person who writes it), but change can be difficult and i guess at this point i’ve - whether u like me or not lmao - been a fixture in jojo reader-insert tumblr for a While so it’s probably kind of jarring.
anyway i really appreciate you and the nice words! <3
Anonymous asked: hi nat! I just wanted to pop in and say that regardless of what fandom you write for, the love and care you pour into your writing and into interacting with followers who care about your work as well is really obvious. you're doing this for FREE and people should appreciate what you've given us so far, since ultimately this blog should be for you, whatever that means to you at any point in time. it's ok to jump fandoms! the important thing is that you feel good about what you're producing and that it makes you happy. everyone else is just a bonus - but, seeing you on my dash certainly makes me happy : ) I hope you feel better soon!
thank you anon! i’m feeling much better and happier today. birthdays are very difficult for me (i did not think i’d be alive at eighteen, much less 25!) so this event is definitely kind of a way for me to concentrate on something else, and i’m a little bit extra sensitive atm. i appreciate you so much, thank you for the kind words!!! <3
Anonymous asked: Hello! I just wanted to say, write what YOU want and make YOUR writings as long as you'd like. 💖 To the anon who is like "We mAdE yOu FaMoUs dOnt HalF asS iT" stfu, let people do what they wanna do. If you think they half do it, write something better and longer you asshat.
this is an open invitiation to that anon to send me a link to their writing blog and i’ll hype them up i promise <3
Anonymous asked: nat i'm so so sorry about that ask please know that your older followers don't share the same opinion :( sometimes people forget about the living, breathing person behind the screen smh. you are not a machine. you absolutely should not restrict yourself to posting about one fandom forever. yes, we're first pulled in by your amazing content, but we stay for your wonderful personality and work ethic. please just keep being you, taking up projects you feel comfy with! <333 bless u
ahh thank u anon! unfortunately i actually am a writing robot, i’m sorry u had to find out this way. my jojo chip has been removed, please send it back so i can continue to not half-ass my jojo work. fgnjkbgjkfn thank you so much angel!!! i appreciate you ;_;.
Anonymous asked: i don’t think it’s fair for other people to say shit about what you choose to write about because on tumblr and other writing platforms, writers are constantly developing how they write and the fandoms that they write for. it’s not fair for someone to criticize that “you don’t care about jjba blah blah blah” because you can enjoy new shows/manga. and like you said you’ve grown so much!! proud of you nat and im glad that ive been able to read your works (sincerely other nat)
i am STILL waiting for you to come and fight me other nat fgnjkbnf. it’s nice to be enjoying different things! i am constantly learning new things and reading new works and making new friends and improving and i think that’s important. i do care about jjba - a lot! but i can care about other things too! <3
Anonymous asked: I may not be one of your oldest followers, but i've been here for almost 3 years. Yes, i started following u for ur jojo content, but let me tell u, ur newfound motivation and enthusiam for other fandoms was honestly contagiuos for me. And i say this as a person who finds very difficult to move from one interest to another. Jojo is great, but so are other fandoms. Please don't let some faceless scum rob u that motivation. This is ur blog and u r always free to write whatever u want.
honestly, i have been there! i am autistic and i have special interests and watching other people move on to stuff i’m not vibing with has made me sad in the past, but i want people to be happy more than anything and sometimes that means new things and change! <3
Anonymous asked: Hi Nat! I saw that rude anon message & I just wanted to pop in & say that they're wrong. You're not betraying anyone & you should write whatever it is you want to write. I followed you for jojo & I'm not familiar with the other fandoms that you write for, but personally it makes me SO happy to see you enjoying new things! It's always good to find joy wherever you can, so keep writing what you're interested in. There a lot of ppl who want to see you happy and healthy <3
honestly the idea of it being a GRAND BETRAYAL is so funny, i am just writing anime fanfic here and thriving!!! tysm anon! <3
Anonymous asked: Those anons can piss off! They have no right to judge how long or how short your writing is. If they want longer content write it their damn selves. I think your writing has improved wonderfully and I originally followed for Jojo and I'm enjoying all the content period. I don't even watch jujutsu ( not my cup of tea personally) but I love seeing the creativity and the interactions. You write what makes you happy Nat and that's on that! You don't owe anybody anything! I know how hard writing is and when your consuming new content it's hard to make content for something else. That doesn't mean you don't like it any more your just doing something different for a while. Love you and your content and I'm enjoying the love your putting into your content whether long or short. ♥♥💕 Sending love your way!
honestly my idea of ‘short content’ is still over 1k words, i’m not good at reeling myself in! i guess it’s bc they see like, 1.5k jojo fic versus 5k jjk fic but it’s not that i didn’t enjoy the first fic, just that the point and the story came a lot quicker and so did the natural end! thank you anon, i appreciate you ;_;
Anonymous asked: Hello! Just wanted to let your know that I think your writing is awesome, and that you should write for whoever and for whatever you want to! You dont have to stay loyal to one fandom or anything, and your followers shouldn't expect that from you! It's not like they are paying you to write, you are doing this for free, and because you enjoy it and it makes you happy! If they dont like your stuff, they dont have to follow you, they can go to other blogs that cater to their taste, and they definitely don't need to be sending you such hurtful comments, and they dont get to make you feel sad about your writing! Just because they followed you during your earlier stages of writing, doesn't mean you owe them some type of loyalty or compensation! You can write literally whatever you want as long as it makes you happy! That's what your hobby and your blog are for! I hope you know that alot of your followers love your work and think that you are an amazing writer and are down to support the work that makes you happiest! 💖💖
ahh thank you so much anon!!! i am always so bowled over by how many people are nice to me when something like this happens, i am sending you my love <3
Anonymous asked: don’t listen to them!! we love you as a writer no matter what you write, because you’re a good person and a talented writer!! you shouldn’t have to change what you write to please a bitter person, and if they only want jjba, they can go to another blog instead of bringing you down. you’re doing amazing and they should be thankful you grace us with your talents!!
to be totally honest, if i was half-assing or not vibing with content i was making i just. wouldn’t post it. like you’d be able to TELL when i was half-assing stuff just to get words out (source: i have re-read my own nanowrimo works). there are lots of great jjba blogs who could do with more followers n interaction!!! i hope they do find them and i hope they’re nice to them :(.
Anonymous asked: Please don’t pay attention to that anon. People only have that confidence when they have anon turned on. Them looking through your blog despite feeling that way is peak fan behavior and speaks to how addicting your writing is. Naturally, you can’t please everyone and there will be people who are irrational and feel entitled to tell you what to do or what to write no matter what. Trust me when I say they’re a small minority and are more likely probably passing viewers rather than regulars. I check your blog about three or more times a day because I love reading not just your fics but also your takes, banter with other anons, or even random updates. Brainrot posts? LOVE TO SEE IT!!! Desk update? AMAZING!!! With that being said, don’t feel pressured to continue pushing out content for others. Write what makes you happy! You’ve been writing for JJBA for 4 years and it’s completely normal + healthy to get into new media. I’m not sure if it would mean much, but your love for JJK has gotten me excited to start it too!!
anon i really hope you enjoy it!!! sometimes these anons remember stuff i’ve posted and said better than i do tbh, i am living in their heads rent free i guess!
Anonymous asked: I've been following you for a couple of years and honestly it would always be a joy to see when you posted. Your writing has improved and I'm very happy you're enjoying yourself ! I know it hurts hearing and seeing stuff like that but I'm happy you're here. I'm honestly blessed everytime you post. Your writing is phenomenal. I love reading it even if its characters that I dont care for. You capture their essences so well and weave an amazing tale within the prompts and whatnot. You're amazing nat!
wehh thank you so much!!! re: the improvement, i really don’t feel like it has and then i re-read something i wrote when i first started and i’m like oh my god maybe it has. did i really write about jotaro acting like that.
Anonymous asked: Hi Nat. I recently became a follower of yours and I'm really saddened to see you get hate. You seem like a genuinely sweet person with amazing talent! I'm a writer myself and, unfortunately, get the same kind of comments. And when you get those comments, it doesn't leave you feeling motivated. People need to understand that people can and will, at times, grow out of fandoms. (1 Not just that but you're doing all of this for free. Again, I'm sorry you got such a comment. But please know that I'm proud of how far you've come. I'm proud that you're living a life that makes you happy. And no matter what fandom you may find yourself in next, I will always enjoy your writing. Take care of yourself. (2 end
HELLO NEW FOLLOWER I LOVE YOU (i get a lot more a day now than i used to and i feel guilty about not being able to look through so many blogs but i do try and follow back other writers for my fandoms!! ;_;). i’m sorry you get the same kind of comments! i’m always just happy to see people i like enjoying new things, even if i have no interest in it (hello to all of my mutuals who write for hunter x hunter and haikyuu, not interested but i’m sure you’re having a great time and i support you!!!).
Anonymous asked: I'm sure you're getting a barrage of supportive messages now (at least I hope so) but I figured I'd add my voice, because I'm a longtime follower. Your writing is, and always has been, wonderful. I've been so happy to see you and Haz get to a place that works for you both. Idk if it's obvious for everyone, but you seem like you're emotionally in a pretty good place most of the time these days, and it makes me really happy to see that. I followed years ago for JJBA content, but I stayed because regardless of what content you put out, I find your wit delightful. And I'll stick around even if you move fandoms entirely, because whatever content or editorializing you produce is going to be worth reading, regardless of what it's for.
ahh, anon!! thank you for sticking around so long, sorry if you’re old enough to have been around the vore and jorts and spider rohan fiascos! <3 i am definitely a lot more stable than i have been and - barring the Pandemic Related Mental Health Issues - happier! i’m glad that it’s noticeable! <3
Anonymous asked: It actually makes me mad how entitled some people are. Nat, you're not a content creating machine and those who expect you to be are not worth wasting a thought on. Your love for something is not measured in word counts and for you to write every day without getting burned out in the slightest you really must have a burning passion and huge dedication to your craft. If others decide to send hate then allow me to send admiration because I can feel your love and hard work in each post you make!
i try and write every day bc it’s super good for my little ocd/autistic brain to have routines and distract itself, so i’m glad other people can enjoy them because that makes me motivated to carry on! like, i write for myself mostly bc the content i want i sometimes get find, but filling requests and writing for other people also leaves me with happy warm fuzzies too! i appreciate you!! <3
Anonymous asked: If people only care about your writing for the jojo porn that’s on THEM, not you. Your writing was amazing when I followed about a year ago, and it’s only gotten better and will continue to get better! I think it really comes through when you enjoy what you’re writing and it adds a whole other layer of worth to it, because not only are you making free content but you LIKE that content and we can all gush about it together!!! More than just fans, I think you’ve created a community here and we don’t just stick around to read smut, I promise you that. -Reronon
i do miss having a discord community bc it was nice to talk to everyone in real time but it was hard work, i am glad that people feel like they can just come into my askbox and gush! i’m not very friendly in real life and people tend to think i am cold and stuck up so i work very hard to try and seem friendly and approachable online, which is much easier for me because i get to think and re-draft before i type! <3
Anonymous asked: Hi Nat! I’m sure you’re getting a lot of messages like this right now but I just wanted to say for what it’s worth that, as a person who originally followed you for jjba content and hasn’t watched/read any of the other series you’re currently writing for, I’m honestly still along for the ride. This is your blog and you’re allowed to do what you want with it and put out what content you feel like writing. Sometimes??? People acquire new interests??????? Shocking! I know absolutely nothing about jjk or bnha but out of curiosity still read some of your posts about them and even though I might not Get It, I still enjoy them because I think you’re a very talented writer! Honestly, as long as you’re still writing, I’m still down to clown, and whenever you take breaks (which are important!) I’ll still be waiting for your return or supporting and respecting your decision to stay away longer. Don’t let the entitled assholes get you down. Utilize YOUR blog and YOUR space however YOU choose. Your talent and kindness speak for themselves. Love you!!! ❤️❤️❤️
anon i care about you and i am so appreciative of you and everyone for sending me such nice messages! i am running out of ways to say it but it’s true, it really does mean a lot to me ;_; <3

Hi. First: I love your GIFs! They're pleasing to see on my dash (and sometimes gives me niggling ideas for creating GIFs of my own but almost never do it cuz procrastination and my creativity sucks haha 😅)! Please keep creating! <3
Second, genuine question (and out of curiosity): Why do you self reblog your posts often? People can see your posts on their dash, and even on the search thingy. The search thingy doesn't let people see your self-reblogs (just the original post). Even though I've kinda been on and off of Tumblr for years, I don't really get how it works, so I'm a bit confused as to why you and other bloggers self-reblog your/their own posts?
You don't have to answer if you don't want to, though! I'm just genuinely confused and I don't know who/where else to ask/search 😅. Thanks in advance! Have a nice day! <3
I honestly don't know what I did to get dragged into this discourse
Thank you for polite question, I honestly don't know if I can help you a lot and if my answer will explain it as you expect. I also was on and off tumblr for a long time and often, but I can answer it based on my own experience on this becasue it was confusing to me too when I first met with self reblogging.
Long reply under read more so to not trash other people' dash
first of all self promotion isn't a bad thing and i'm staring to think some of people here see it as a crime
compared to old one nowday t/mblr is a mess, lot of people left this site and most of them were content creators (either artists or gifmakers) and back then it seemd more welcoming to editors? People would rb your stuff no matter your popularity becasue hey it is content from my fav series i wanna see more i wanna keep it on my blog and show it to others so there was no need for people to self reblog becasue it circulated around a lot on its own.
new people who join this app are raised on i/stagram t/itter and/or f/book where LIKES means everything, you show your support by liking posts THIS NOT APPLY TO TUMBLR AND NEVER DID [you can check this amazing post about rebloging]. As nice as it is to get likes on your post becasue it is like a pat on a head - it is only a pat, doesn't mean anything on a long run. Reblog = spreading. If people don't spread it we stay unnoticed and we tend to self reblog more.
another thing that changed is: people no longer scroll from top to the last post they saw before going to sleep, cos why would they? You wake up in the morning open app while eating breakfast or drinking coffee and you sroll past ten or twenty post or an equivalent of hour or two of your absence - you dont go deeper cos it would be a waste of time - again, I say USUALLY, some ppl still do this and it is ok either way - which leads us to main point of self/reblog:
DIFFERENCE in TIME ZONE not all of our followers live in the same time-zone, when I post something in my free time it doesn't mean others have it too, most of them are probably sleeping or in working place at that hour. We self reblog so people who were absent (and we think might be interested in - becasue why not? they follow us for a reason right?) can see it when they get back on here. By reblogging ourself multiple times, that puts the post back on the follower’s dash and hopefully gives them a chance to see it.
most of people follow ton of blogs (one of my friend I met here told me they follow over 1k blogs) imagine even half of these blogs posting regulary, a few things per hour, the dash is messy and crowded OUR EDITS TEND TO GET LOST IN IT. Most of people follow a lot of blogs and might miss our posts becaue their dashes are WAY more active than these who follow five or ten blogs.
t/mblr fandoms aren't welcoming to new creators in my experience, to get notes you need to be popular/have lot of followers but you can't have lot of them if your posts aren't spread/seen and so on and so on it go in circle (a lot of ppl also only reblog popular posts and avoid these with litte of notes - don't know why it is like this, maybe they think these posts are suspicious?) so with self reblog we also give some of these fake notes to make a post more appealing, i guess? this one is just speculation.
the search function you mentioned is very rarely used tbh people don't go to search for things daily, they usually only do this when they join new series/ship/etc to check if there is something. People usually stick to what they see on their dashes. AND most importantly this option doesn't work as it should. It is some type of algoritm that promote post that are alive/active - even if your post is relativy new it might not show in search becasue it died quickly (as if it wasn't interacted with for some time). With search option it is 50/50 your thing either show there or not. ALSO REMEMBER search option is a terrible promoted thingy that doesn't show you everything so you better stick to /tagged/ thing you can enter manually while on dash if you are using web t/mblr.
people no longer go straight to specific blogs to check if they missed something, they might do it for their besties (as they call it) but other than that DASH is all people see and focus on, so the more often content creators self/reblog the higher chance followrs will see it.
we are not paid for what we do and it come to everything: edits, gifs, arts, writing, video and META POST we are not paid for it and no matter how many people say notes are just numbers these numbers are our motivational payment, the less you get the less you create because you just don't feel the point of sharing your creations if it is not received well or at all.
when I started posting I used to post new content daily even twice a day, nowdays seeing most of my edits not being well recieved in fandom I lost motivation to the point I was thinking of quiting because it didn’t give me joy anymore and I'm still considering it.
I personally never felt bothered seeing self rebbloged post, I follow a bunch of content creators, some of them sr twice a day some each hour, some more or less often. It often helped me to see something I would missed becasue I wasn't here and personally it often give me joy to see the post I remember seeing that had 2 notes when I rb it and now it is 500 or more.
to anyone who read it and still think self reblog is a bother: do not tell people to stop self reblogging. If you genuinely have a problem with self reblogging, just unfollow or block the person who does it and don’t make a fuss over it!
I hope I managed to answer you at least partly? I probably lost the point somewhere between first sentence and second but... well
